Cons: Found the overall staff service to be lacking. Concierge typically jumps at opportunity to provide service/advice but not here. For the most part, the hotel bars and restaurants are over-hyped and completely over-priced with much better alternatives just a few steps away (both quality and price). Smell of stale smoke hits you just as you enter the building - thanks to a smoking lounge conveniently located on the second level. Hotel wifi is a total joke and not to be relied upon. Hotel includes restricted wifi with your room rate and asks ridiculous payment for slight improvement. In my experience even budget accommodations provide this service infinitely better. Overall, this is a stuffy hotel situated for the stuffy traveler. Sounds of enjoyment or laughter are non-existent in common areas, which speaks volumes. Call yourself luxury, and pay for memberships in luxury hotel associations all you want - it doesn't make it so.

Pros: I stayed in this hotel third time in several years, and I can say it keeps the quality of rooms and service. Rooms are spacious, well equipped and very comfortable. Staff is helpful and friendly. Excellent communication to the airport - direct train from Rennweg (150 m walk), takes you to Schwechat in 21 minutes for 4 Euro ticket. Take a room with view on Belveder if possible.

Cons: The following comments are negligible compared to the assets of this hotel, but I write them in order to give a full picture: 1. I have stayed at this hotel many, many times, but this time, did not find an English newspaper every day. In my previous stays there were usually two copies of the New York Times in the lobby. This time I found a copy only once. Perhaps guests took it, but if the hotel has stopped ordering it - that is a shame. 2. Though the hotel is very clean, I did find dust behind the radiator in my room. I guess they don't think to clean there on a regular basis and to tell you the truth, maybe I wouldn't have thought to do it either, but I placed stockings on the radiator to dry and they emerged covered with dust in places. 3. It would be nice to be able to make tea in one's room, but it is not possible to do so, as there is no tea kettle and guests are not permitted to bring their own.

Unsurprisingly the slightly higher than average price in Vienna corresponds to the service and standard of the hotel. Plenty of towels and toiletries in the room. It’s a high end hotel, but with plenty of character and Austrian feel to it. Excellent breakfast with plenty of options - vegan, no fat, gf, fish etc. Staff service was great that goes without saying. If you’re willing to pay a little more you’d be really pleased.

It is usually good value for money and services are of a high standard. I have stayed here on a number of occasions and dined or attended meetings during other visits to Vienna.
Cons: The wifi in this hotel is as bad as in so many other Vienna hotels. Free wifi is available, but requires a 12 digit/letter code and a separate code for phone, tablet, laptop etc. It only lasts twenty four hours so on a three day trip with three devices you are coding nine times. The signal has an annoying habit of cutting out. This is not a major complaint, but it should also not be a major issue for the hotel to resolve. Even in Vienna there are hotels which can offer simple, strong continuous wifi for multiple devices.

Within this price range of a hotel, I wouldn't expect this issue to be left without a solution. As a secondary suggestion about the room; I would suggest the hotel to better decorate the room, since it is very big but not decorated enough to feel any warmth.

Cons: Definitely not 4 star experience! One guy at the reception was particularly rude, and always had that angry and grumpy look. We asked for bill to be sent to our company directly and he didn't even asked about company he just in rude manner said no without offering any help. The rooms were super small, the shower is so small that you can't fully turn around without hitting walls, and there are most stupid bathroom doors that I ever saw - sliding one which you can see through. One day they gave us the wrong breakfast table but breakfast was overall very poor in choice for 4 star hotel. Overall, not worth money nor standard.

Pros:
Cons: Construction of underground parking garage outside window from @7am-9pm Witnessed desk person being extremely rude to another guest so thought better of asking for a room change. Left hotel earlier than planned. Of all the service personnel we encountered there was only one woman at the desk who was actually kind. I can’t remember her name but she checked us out and was very apologetic. We will not stay here again.

Pros: Excellent location, fair price for what they offer.
Cons: Not good enough for a 5 stars hotel, it could be much better. The decoration, styling and condition of the room could be better, newer and more "fresh", especially for a 5 star hotel. I would judge it differently if it was 4 stars. I have been in several 4 star hotels which were equally good or better. The staff was not bad, but they can do a little bit more effort and be more enthusiastic or willing to behave more positively. Furthermore, the room was very warm (even with the heating switched off) and sometimes we had to open the window (bare in mind that we were there with cold weather at the beginning of November) .

Pros: Beautiful hotel in a fantastic location, which was perfect for shopping and sightseeing. Staff were very polite and helpful. Rooms are reasonable size and the bathroom was huge.
Cons: Building works going on outside hotel, which can't be helped but disappointed as it spoilt the view from the hotel. An underground carpark is being constructed, but you can only hear the workmen if the window was open.

Pros: This was my 4th trip to Vienna. On these trips, I've stayed in various hotels in the city center. Hotel Ambassador was the best and I return to this hotel because of its central location, wonderful staff, and excellent service. I especially enjoyed the bar/cafe service. It was efficient, accommodating, and super professional.

Pros: The location of the hotel is amazing. Riight next to the train station, across the street from the mall and numerous shops. You can get on a hop on hop off bus across the street.

Cons: Room cleaning wasn't reliable. We were in our room when cleaning person came by on the last day. We asked her to come later. When we returned around 5:00 p.m. the room hadn't been touched. Disappointing.

Cons: Could not check-in until more than 1+ hrs after the scheduled check-in time. Typically not a big deal, but after traveling 18+ hrs & arriving mid-morning and being a Hilton Honors member, one would think the hotel would have made an effort to accommodate

Cons: There was construction in the hotel and the works were starting at 9 am every morning with a very strong noise of driller and machines. Fortunately (!) the staff gave this information after I have checked-in. Additionally the A/C was giving cold air all the time. The only that is close to Hilton is the name

Cons: The only issue is they took £100 out of my account for a deposit and week later I’m still waiting for the money to be put back in my account and I’m getting to the point where I need the money

Pros: Very clean, good amenities (did not even get to use the gym or other things there), very friendly, helpful staff; good location right near underground station. Bartender was great-- we went to the bar just after closing and he still offered to serve us.
Cons: The shower was very confusing to operate-- I felt like a needed an engineering degree to adjust temperature and adjust water flow. Also, the room was a bit too warm & stuffy despite being able to open the top of the window and the a/c did not blow cold.

Cons: No value for money. Hotel partly closed due to construction works and despite this no reduction in price. Couldn't provide us with an umbrella when it was raining. The executive lounge had only poor and limited food and drinks.

Pros: The location of the hotel is amazing. Riight next to the train station, across the street from the mall and numerous shops. You can get on a hop on hop off bus across the street.
Cons: So the one thing that was awful, they used to have a mini bar, that was then converted into a fridge, it was filthy, and smelled like mildew. They also had not cleaned the kettle. It really took the star rating down for me.
