We rented a car. Beyond that everything about the experience was extremely poor and almost felt like a scam. The pick up is off site, serviced by a shuttle. The check out took 90 minutes and the insurance issues were extensive. They clearly mark down the car cost and make it all up on insurance and then some. I even got the kayak insurance ahead hoping to manage cost. They refused to accept it. This all just feels dishonest. The car we ordered was a midsize SUV. We got a compact. The car worked fine. The check in process was disorganized and there was no parking. The shuttle was delayed. Overall I would do everything you can to stay away from this company. U-save means you save money but lose a lot of time, which was not worth it for us to start our trip. The cost for the car was very low with no unexpected fees, however the pickup process took an hour and a half to 2 hours. To get to the car rental, we took 2 separate shuttles which was expected. However, once we got to the U-Save building there was a long line of people and it took each person 20-30 minutes to leave the counter and receive their car. The agents that are at the counter kept having to leave to pull up each car individually and all the people/families waiting outside endorsed they also waited up to 2-2.5 hours to get their car AFTER the 1/2 hour it took to get to U-save from the airport in the first place. While the car was sufficient, I will not be using this car rental company again. The only highlight of this experience was the drop off was smooth despite the heavy rain, and our shuttle driver was able to take us all the way to the terminal rather than having to wait for the second shuttle to get back to the terminal.Reviewed Feb 18 2026

I am very disappointed in kayak for supporting U-Save car rental that operates a scam near by FLL. This review is a warning to anyone who extended to rent from the company. They will scam you in daylight. Kayak needs to stop advertising low car rental rate on behalf of u-save….then for the renter to find out they need pay $600 at a rate $100 per day for insurance despite my full coverage Geico insurance. The price that they quoted us ended up being way more expensive on top of that they still haven't returned or deposit and it's been over 20 days, the car was in pristine condition we dropped it off full tank of gas nothing was wrong. The first time I called they said that it would be returned within 7 to 15 business days and that I could call back after that if it hasn't happened. I just called them and it's been over 20 days and he was trying to give me some excuse that they told him that it was going to be 30 to 40 days and when I asked him to clarify that he said he was going to call me back and he hung up. An hour and 45 minutes from arrival to when the vehicle was available to give I thought Security line was bad at the airport but waiting online outside to just get your vehicle. That was the worst only one person working and when the car was registered and handover the keys. I immediately returned back because the vehicle was not in mid conditions for what I was paying and they have to give me another vehicle which took sometimes and after being an hour and 30 minutes, I decided to go and get something to eat. I arrive at 12:30 PM and I got to the hotel around 4 o’clock. When I came back. I got my car took it and left. The return was very quick then I have to wait that long.Reviewed Sept 4 2025
