Pros: We absolutely adore everything about this hotel! We are getting married in the 14th century monastery next year and cannot wait to return and stay!
5,8 Okay
Pros: Amazing green fields well taken care. Friendly and highly educated staff.
Cons: The hotel looks like it is frozen in time. It needs definitely an upgrade to align with the high end price. The rooms look like they were extract from an old movie, with very old furniture and giant old phones. The bathroom is big but it also needs some upgrades. The shower was constantly falling down and almost injuring us. The breakfast was very crowded and they make you wait in a queue. Not compatible for this hotel price range. The pool adult area was almost empty every day because is the most windy corner. And to help the water was frozen cold. No one can enjoy that gorgeous pool.
9,6 Excellent
Pros: Everything.
Cons: Floor in room had a few too many spots.
7,1 Good
Pros: Location.
Cons: It doesn't deliver what the price promises. Staff is very friendly and wants to help, but it seems like the management structure doesn't allow you to actually get what you need/want. Simple requests (like: can I have a paper napkin at breakfast) take far too much time and effort (10 min + manager had to help...).
10,0 Excellent
Pros: Pretty grounds, large room, nice pool

7,5 Good
Pros: Great location
Cons: Service at breakfast was a bit slow
10,0 Excellent
Pros: We had a wonderful stay at Sintra Boutique Hotel. The location is extremely central, right across the National Palace of Sintra. Of note, it is on a one-way street, and if you miss it, you have to loop around town for 10 mins again, so pay attention! The staff is VERY helpful, welcoming and friendly. The problem with writing a review so late is that I forgot the name of the lovely lady who helped me out, and I wanted to make a special mention of her (Elizabeth? it was the night of September 6th). She helped me book my different tickets, gave great recommendations....AND offered to give me her parking when she was off her shift because I was leaving Sintra way after check-out the next day, and it would have otherwise been very difficult for us to find parking nearby. AMAZING!!! If management reads this, please let her know we are still grateful for her gesture! So as you can see, parking in Sintra is difficult, and this hotel has limited free parking in front; it is best to factor that in and let the hotel know you will be needing parking. The rooms are very comfortable, spacious and tastefully decorated, with bonus views on the palace! It was very convenient to have breakfast included. There is an elevator, a great bonus for me, since I still have great difficulty traveling light. We had an excellent stay in Sintra (too short!) and our stay at the Sintra Boutique Hotel contributed a lot to our experience. I highly recommend it! Hope to be back one day!
Cons: Nothing! Loved it!
10,0 Excellent
Pros: The property is nice as well as the location but I think the professionalism of the front desk was outstanding from the moment we checked in and everyday until we checked out .
Cons: No issues really, other than on our last morning there was not the regular chef in the kitchen and breakfast was delayed and not as good . Minor issue in the larger picture .

10,0 Excellent
Pros: Hotel staff was super-friendly and helpful, one of the front desk staff parked our car right in front of the hotel (no charge), great location for good restaurants, transportation to the local sights, etc. Will definitely stay here again!
Cons: Only problem was a lot of construction in the area... Made driving around the area difficult, but likely only a temporary problem.
10,0 Excellent
Pros: Just about everything.
Cons: It was a little thing: the cleaning staff forgot to supply shampoo and bath gel on two days and coffee creamer one day.

Pros: Beautiful place with wonderful atmosphere. Staff went out of their way to makes us comfortable.
9,6 Excellent

Cons: Nothing
9,6 Excellent
Pros: I liked everything! From the breathtaking walk on the entrance to the wonderful interiors, including the very much helpful and charming service. The room was spacious and classy. Breakfast included all kind of fruit varieties you can imagine, set in nicest room of the entire building. The outdoor area was incredibly cozy and beautiful. I hope we can repeat anytime soon.
Cons: Not having more time to stay
9,6 Excellent
Pros: Location in a very quiet part of Sintra which is very hard these days considering it is overrun by tourists. The hotel itself is like a museum very tastefully decorated and maintained. Very discrete environment. Was our 3rd stay. I would stay here very time
10,0 Excellent
Pros: The hotel is charming a Classic historical hotel beautifully renovated
Cons: Nothing to complain about
10,0 Excellent
Pros: A Magic Place. We particularly loved lunch on the terrace. The staff was beyond wonderful, all of them, and there were many.
Cons: Although our room was comfortable, there were only two side chairs other than the bed, so no comfort sitting place, which was a noticeable deficiency while one waited for the other. And like Maine, because the unique traffic circulation challenges, you "can't get there from here". In the Center, not 1000 meters away, taxis refused to take us there because they would have to drive 10 KMs to get back to the taxi stand. So, if you don't fancy a good walk, with some significant grade, it will be a challenge.
5,0 Okay
Pros: Gorgeous old building.
Cons: Our room was in need of obvious maintenance. Most importantly, there was a recent change in the traffic pattern as they made the road in front of the hotel one way in the direction away from town so it now takes over 30 minutes in part on dangerously narrow 2 way streets yo get into town by car. It only takes 6 minutes to drive back. The walk is nice at around 23 minutes but late st night it’s s pain.
10,0 Excellent
Pros: Majestic palace hotel with tastefully decorated rooms, immaculate views and facilities and wonderfully attentive staff made for a memorable 2 night stay.

Pros: What a beautiful property! Very unique and quaint and conveniently located for walking to Sintra's beautiful historic centre. Staff were very friendly and helpful. Our room was very comfortable and we loved the lounge areas (with a glass of port on the house) and the garden. Breakfast at the nearby Café Saudade was delicious!
Cons: There was a kettle, cups and tea in the room but nothing to make coffee (which we are accustomed to). There was a smell coming from the drain in our bathroom (it is a very old building) but hotel staff dealt with it quickly.
10,0 Excellent

10,0 Excellent
Pros: Excellent location, beautifully restored building! Breakfast at their nearby Cafe was excellent. The staff were the nicest, most personable people we have ever stayed with!
Cons: Can’t think of anything
10,0 Excellent
Pros: Can’t praise this gorgeous hotel enough! Beautiful period property in a leafy garden. Tastefully decorated and full of lovely artistic pieces. Staff friendly and helpful. Our room was more of a suite really with so much space and a comfortable king size bed. You do have to go round the corner to a cafe for breakfast which some may feel is inconvenient but we didn’t mind and the breakfast was very good. The advantage of staying in Sintra is that you can get to the palaces etc before people arrive on the train from Lisbon. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay here & it is fantastic value for money!
Cons: Nothing!
10,0 Excellent
Pros: Beautiful hotel with lovely period decor. Staff very hospitable and helpful. Delightful breakfast. Perfect location. Couldn’t have been better! Wish we could have stayed longer!
Cons: No complaints. It was all good.
10,0 Excellent
Pros: Was blown away with how beautiful the facility was and all the kind touches like port in the common room and body lotion by the sink. We had purchased a lower cost room which was below ground level but they had still taken the time to add some greenery outside our window.
Cons: I wish we stayed longer
10,0 Excellent
Pros: Great breakfast with variety of food. Staff courteous and helpful to research and answer questions. Decor was beautiful.
Cons: Not enough time in Sintra.
10,0 Excellent
Pros: We booked a room for two nights at this lovely heritage Sintra hotel based on the wonderful reviews online and we were not disappointed. The staff were so kind and helpful. It was the extra things they did to make your stay even more special - such as letting us check in early and putting our beer in the common area fridge and labeling it for us. Also when they we realized that on our last day we were leaving at 5am for the airport which meant that we would miss the breakfast, they phoned the cafe and organised for it to be supplied the day we arrived instead (love Europe’s all day breakfasts - the food was amazing too!). Our very spacious room was on the bottom floor and had direct access to the outside garden. It had lovely views and lots of light. This is a beautiful old hotel that is well maintained and a lovely place to stay.

Pros: Beautiful hotel, great location. Staff was very friendly and helpful.

Pros: Excellent location. Host Susanah was really kind and helpful. Breakfast is yummy with stunning views and such good value. House has old Portuguese charm. Lovely pool and gardens. Excellent views from room and garden. Book you won't regret it. Only thing is better to have a car but restaurants in 10 mins walking distance.
10,0 Excellent
Pros: We stayed in the deluxe double room for two nights and wish we could have stayed longer. The room is huge, with lovely old furniture and a great balcony/conservatory type area with views of Pena Palace and the castles in the mountains. The bathroom is also spacious and clean. The communal space in the property was amazing, a very grand entrance hall and dining room/lounge all decorated with very charming vintage furniture. Outside is so spacious, the pool area was spotless, and there are a number of other areas to sit and relax, and it is as beautiful as the pictures on here show. The atmosphere was very peaceful and the host was so accommodating. We were slightly worried about getting around as we didn't drive, but we used Uber regularly from the property with no problem at all. It cost €4 and took around ten minutes to get to Sintra centre or the train station where you can catch buses or tuk-tuks to the attractions. To the airport by Uber cost just under €30. We only ate out nearby once at a restaurant called Pateo do Garrett but the food was amazing and less than a ten minute walk. There is also a small area at the property with wine, soft drinks, coffee and cakes available for a small price. The breakfast was worth every cent, was delicious and included bread, croissants, meat, cheese, scrambled eggs, fruit and pastries. We loved our stay here and hope to be back again sometime.
9,6 Excellent
Pros: The breakfast was extra 7 euros each but it was well worth it. The staff and owner couldn’t do enough for us and were very accommodating.

Pros: The host, Susanna, was amazing and gracious. She was always available to provide advice and suggestions and made you feel at home. The property was quaint and quite lovely. Breakfast was made with fresh ingredients from the property and served overlooking the town of Sintra with an amazing view of the Moorish Castle and Palace of Pena. It was a lovely quiet location that was still easily accessible to all of the amazing sites that Sintra has to offer.
8,8 Excellent
Pros: Nice pool Very friendly host Great ambience Breakfast looked amazing
Cons: It had an ‘old’ smell, like the carpets haven’t been vacuumed in too long

Pros: Nice breakfast, beautiful location, very comfortable, except our 3rd bed option for our adult daughter that was too soft( it was a cot), not a real bed as was listed

Pros: Beautiful place...a little bit up the hill, but since the town was full of hills...to be expected.
8,8 Excellent
Pros: The hotel is situated in a fairytale setting surrounded by beautiful gardens filled with flowers. It is so quiet that it feels as if you are the only one there. It was nice to have parking available in busy Sintra.
Cons: The toilet was giving problems when you flush it. It would have been nice to have something warm offered at breakfast like eggs or bacon.
9,0 Excellent
Pros: Very nice property and older hotel. Convenient location for hiking up to Castelo dos Mouros and the Palace of Pena. 10 minute walk to the historic centre of Sintra. Good breakfast with variety.
Cons: Bit of an uphill walk on cobbles from the train station. Bathroom a little dated.
9,0 Excellent
Pros: There is an unforgettable charm of the old villa. The beautiful surroundings and nice big swimming pool. All you need to enjoy the easy time. There is a bus stop in a minute of walking. Although the trial rout to the castles starts within a stone throw. It is reasonably close to the train station and we have traveled twice to Lisbon.
Cons: I have been expecting from the breakfast the same authenticity as from the venue itself. Local products, taste and delicious. Unfortunately the breakfast is a very basic - it is called continental breakfast. The basic tasteless hum and cheese. We survived thanks to the fresh orange juice and nice bread.

10,0 Excellent
Pros: Location, close to the train station ( one block) Service, very atentive Located jus in front of the best restaurante in town
Cons: None
9,6 Excellent
Pros: Location is quite near Sintra Station but you have to walk one street down. The room and bathroom were very nice, good size for 2 people and facilities look very new and clean. Love the bed! I'd such great sleep. Their bed linens and towels were nicely scented (commendable as many hotels' white cloths just smell of bleach). Good toiletries (incl body lotion) provided. Full-length mirror in room.
Cons: - Noisy. Perhaps because mine was a last-minute booking (another place I booked cancelled on me on the day of booking), the room I was assigned is right next to the reception. The door to my room is definitely not soundproof. I can hear most of the conversations and noises from the reception. One of the nights the reception staff seemed to be organising stuff until 1am or 2am and I couldn't sleep because of the noise. Plus, there is widescale renovation going on at the property next door (looks like restoring the whole property) and my room is very near it. The construction noise started from around 8:15am on both mornings during my stay. Bring earplugs. - Took some time to figure out how to work the knob for hand shower and rainshower. - Some useless amenities like knobs on the wall within the shower but nobody will hang towels or clothes there 'cause they'll get wet during shower. Should have installed a tray for placing bath toiletries instead.

Pros: Wonderful, charming hotel with courteous, hospitable staff!
9,6 Excellent
Pros: Excellent breakfast.
Cons: Bed a little lumpy.
6,7 Good
Pros: Very cute B&B, breakfast was very good and staff was excellent.
Cons: Location in center of town was not what we expected. Parking on the street was not free. Did not really have any parking, was offered a private area to park that was up the hill behind the hotel, but no access from parking to the hotel. Parking was not paved, looked like it was a dumping ground. The hotel has incredible amount of steps from the street to reach the hotel. We were on the first floor which meant two more flights of stairs.

Pros: Perfect location with great view of the Moore Castle, nice rooms and very helpful staff who aided us with everything we needed. Very tasty breakfast. I highly recommend this hotel.
Cons: Nothing, everything was perfect

Pros: Breakfast good except for coffee
Cons: Coffee
9,6 Excellent
Pros: The patio, the staff being readily available, the breakfast included ,the ability to order a glass of wine on the patio, the amazing views from the patio, the quiet air conditioning and the proximity to all services.
Cons: Only one power point in the room - make sure you have a double adaptor and a double usb port if you have more than two devices that need charging. The steep steps up to the hotel, but the staff were very willing to carry our heavy cases up for us. No tea/coffee making facilities or fridge in the rooms ( but available in the lounge).

Pros: Location , friendly staff and host was very helpful beautiful garden/patio
Cons: All was good
10,0 Excellent
Pros: Sintra is a great area to stay. We regret that we did not stay an extra night or two. This hotel was in a perfect location for us, just a moderate walk to the old town - though parking was a bit of a challenge. The breakfast was wonderful, including the excellent coffee. Our room was a good size.
Cons: The parking is very limited, as the free, public lot is jammed with train commuters to Lisbon. Be careful with arriving and relying on your GPS. It sent us up a very steep narrow cobblestoned road, which in the rain had our car sliding backwards! Make sure you stay on main roads.
10,0 Excellent
Pros: Very close to train station: wonderful staff, very helpful: meticulously clean: all and more than I could ask for and Loved the terrace too.. highly recommend Hotel Nova
Cons: Nothing
9,2 Excellent
Pros: The place is very good located, looks nice, great terrace. The two Best things were the breakfast which was perfect and the kind service. Rue was super kind and helpful. Also the bed is very comfortable.
Cons: Maybe it is the high season and maybe because it’s Sintra- but the price is high for the type of room we received, we were offered to upgrade for 30 euros but it was expensive as it is so we didn’t. The most basic room is just fine, not more. Small and small shower. Everything else but the small room was great.

Pros: Lets go in points and then add a short story: 1. Amazing staff- as soon as you get inside the hostel for a checkin you feel like home. 2. Great Breakfast 3. AMAZING shared dinner - was only 12 Euros and it was so good, it got everyone together and broke the ice for many people, like myself. if you go there its a must if you ask me 4. Cool place - the place looks so cool and stylished, makes you feel like you are in some summer camp house or a vacation house 5. Great walking tours - each day they have a walking tour at 10am (ish) and they take you to the castles in a very cool hiking route and give you some history of the city and of the castles. I did it with David and it was amazing, even gave me new info about other castles i've been in the day before I took the walking tour. There are so many other points to add but i'll just write my story and maybe it will give you the picture of what is NiceWaySintra. I came there just to leave my luggage and got out of there with a huge smile and a ton of info about Sintra and activities there. The bedrooms and the place itself (and of course the beautiful garden) makes you feel like you are back to summer camp where everything is from wood and you just want to stay in the hostel to go back to the good memories. It was the first stop for me in Portugal and I was alone on this trip so it was a bit hard to talk with people, but the dinner just made everyone open up and we didnt want to go to sleep , not even at 4 am. We connected so much thanks to that dinner that I got to meet 1 girl from there 2 weeks later on Porto and 2 guys a week after in Lisbon. Something about the shared dinner really gets people to connect. So I think that if you are in Lisbon area and want to go out to nature for 2 days, You should definitely stay at NiceWaySintra. If I could I would go back to Sintra just to stay there for 2 more nights.
Cons: The showers are not perfect but good enough
9,2 Excellent
Pros: Loved the atmosphere, the outside is stunning as well as the inside. It's so cozy and lovely. The staff is super friendly and the people staying are all quite like-minded easy going people.
Cons: Just my mattress was too thin, but then later the staff helped me out with a better matress.
10,0 Excellent
Pros: I loved the fact that the bed had curtains. It makes it a more personal space. The social space (garden) was a perfect place for meeting new people!!! The shower was great! Many times I gave up taking a shower because I couldn't lock the door or just didn't have a door whatsoever! This one was complete luxury.
Cons: The toilet cubicles were bit uncomfortable. Funnily enough I kept hitting my head to the door every time I tried to squat. Regardless, it was super clean.
9,6 Excellent
Pros: Very cool hostel, awesome backyard and I really like hoe the large dorm is layed out, the bunks are comfortable and convenient.
Cons: Took a very long time to check in

Pros: Loved being so close to the gardens of Sintra and having our own garden to relax in. Comfy bed, friendly people made us feel welcome and at home.
Cons: Would have appreciated a bath plug in the bathroom, otherwise all good.
9,6 Excellent
Pros: The staffs are very helpful and friendly. The room has a balcony with perfect view.
Cons: Getting to the hostel has a downhill walk, not so easy to walk with a suitcase, even though the location is very good, it’s near the palace.

Pros: Really helpful owners and staff. They went beyond and above to help me and my family during a really stressful time (car broke down during at the beg. of our stay). They allowed us to stay a couple of extra days without reservations and helped with logistics of train, meals, and mechanic.

Pros: Lovely setting with horses in a rural setting. The host was very helpful and invited us to have some fresh sardines with her family. Pool and pool area is really good with nice sun loungers. Tbe use of a small kitchen and bbq is great when you don't fancy having to go out. The welcome drinks and fruit were really appreciated and a nice touch. Overall we loved it. My daughter especially loved petting the horses. A lovely place for families.
Cons: It was just a little damp because the building is over 250 years old if you can live with that it perfect. Amazing place.

You can walk into town and take a bus to all the main spots and the view from the courtyard of casa miradouro is spectacular. 10/10 would recommend!
7,9 Good
Pros: Beautiful 19th century mansion converted to an inn. Lovely lobby and sitting room with high ceilings. Some rooms have expansive or castle views. It seems like a wealthy family fell into hard times, and had to share their family home.
Cons: Steep walk uphill into town. A little isolated. Not that bad since you can depend on uber for about 4 e. Not all rooms have a good view. Extra charge for a cup of coffee.
9,2 Excellent
Pros: A Pleasing Experience. Room,Staff, Location, Garden, View.
Cons: The Breakfast needed just a little more variety for the "Herbivores" :-)

Pros: The staff were very friendly. The location was very good for visiting Sintra, Monserrate, Colares, etc. but it was far from the madding crowd and wonderfully peaceful. The house is lovely and the pool and gardens are superb. The breakfast was good and the communal areas are very comfortable. We loved the cats.
Cons: The road down to the property was a little scary at first but we got used to it.
8,3 Excellent
Pros: The beautiful mansion and its antiques , the serene atmosphere and the swimming pool. Nice breakfast setting on a long table, easy to converse with other guests.
Cons: The Internet needs a better connection and should be available inside the rooms. The plumbing in the bathroom needs improvement.
9,6 Excellent
Pros: Breakfast excellent. Towels provided for pool. Gorgeous pool and lots of outside seating areas.
Cons: No hairdryer or shampoo in room. Difficult access by car and 15 mins walk down steep track to nearest café/restaurant.
9,0 Excellent
Pros: perfect place in Sintra - neighbor to the monesrrate
8,8 Excellent
Pros: Well, this hotel was the most charming we have been to during our trip in Portugal this year. Stunning views to the hills and the palaces from the windows and from the pool area. Excellent pool, deckchairs, perfect for picking up some tan and stay cool in the meantime. The staff is adorable - you can meet the owners' family members who may talk to you about the history of the place and show you some otherwise private rooms in the hotel - like the library or the music room. A nice feature is the long breakfast table - all guests eat their meal next to each other - and yes, you actually start talking to each other, which was really nice :) The garden is absolutely fantastic. We stayed for three days and we could have stayed for more, as we only saw a fraction of what the Sintra region can offer and we also loved the chill out time at the pool, too. Highly recommended!!!
Cons: Only a few staff members speak English. The common areas smell (dampness? or the owners' cat?)... Especially the one next to the wifi router. The place is not easy to access by car - you have to take single lane, narrow roads with two way traffic. (But fear not - you get used to it after a few trips in and out.)
9,6 Excellent
Pros: Stunning and unusual hotel, not a choice for you if you like modern or minimal. Full of history and antiques, beautiful setting and pool. Worth all the hassle of finding it and the 1.5 k off-road track to get there! It’s a beautiful place to stay.
Cons: Not a good choice if you don’t like walking ,a one way system prevents driving into Sinatra direct and its 35 mins drive. Walking is a good hack 20mins and hilly. It’s also really difficult to find ,satnavs don’t take account of the one way system and can lead you round in circles. Also when temperatures are high roads can be shut as fire precaution without any alternative routes.
8,3 Excellent
Pros: Beautiful home with interesting antiquities inside. Lovely breakfast and a fantastic pool and gardens. Lovely staff too. Breakfast was great as well.
Cons: We would have preferred a double/queen bed in the family room, but the twin beds were super comfortable. It is also really difficult to find the place. Our GPS struggled and we needed to stop at tourist o information in Sintra to ask where it was after an hour trying to find it. It is in Monserrate as an fyi.
5,4 Okay
Pros: Staff were very nice. Breakfast was fantastic and the gardens are beautiful.
Cons: The location of the guest house is at the bottom of a very steep and poorly paved road. Taxis reluctantly come to this guest house so if you don't have your own transportation don't stay here.
6,7 Good
Pros: The breakfast food was very good. The orange juice was fresh squeezed. The grounds were very well maintained. The pool was crystal clear.
Cons: Someone, Anyone on property that could speak any English. The location was such that it was not practical at all to walk to any store or restaurant. Most of the uber drivers in Sintra could not find the location.
8,8 Excellent
Pros: Very beautiful garden, very good swimming pool, and good breakfast..

Pros: The receptionist is very friendly, cheerful and helpful, which made a great beginning to our trip in Sintra! The staff are all professional, especially the cleaning lady who did a good job. We enjoyed the breakfast there, had quite a lot of choices including fruits, yogurt and juice. The whole area is quiet and pleasant with nice environment.
7,9 Good
Pros: Breakfast quite good, Staff very helpful answering all our queries. Hotel in lovely situation and enjoyed access to town by the park.
Cons: Earlier breakfast (eg 8am) would have been better. Would have liked umbrellas beside the loungers as impossible to sit there during the day without.
5,8 Okay
Pros: Normal, but badly presented. Small plastic mats on the tables! Staff not very well taught to receive people.
Cons: The rooms in the annex are dated and need new design. A lamp did not work and the shower door was loose. There was not even a chair in the room, but only two stools in the kitchen area. The beds were not comfortable.
10,0 Excellent
Pros: Great rooms service and view.
9,6 Excellent
Pros: Location was fine, parking being the big plus for this hotel. Shortage of taxis in the town made for a steep climb in the evenings when returning to the hotel after dinner downtown. Friendly staff were helpful whenever asked for anything.
Cons: An excellent place for our short break, no complaints on anything.

Pros: Thank you. Loved the breakfast addition too.

Pros: breakfast was sensational, exceeded expectations. Property was quaint. Staff was very helpful and provided recommendations and directions. We stayed in a cabin and not in the lodge itself which was totally self-sufficient.

Pros: Amazing large room with balcony on 5th floor with view of forest. Very large, comfortable bed and pillows. nice bathroom. Staff helpful and pleasant. Elevator! Great location. Lovely, historic hotel nestled in a beautiful location. Highly recommend.
Cons: WiFi not always reliable in bedroom but worked great in sitting room.
9,6 Excellent
Pros: We liked the historic feel and features of the hotel
Cons: We were allocated a room with disable en-suite. We should have been asked if we wanted or needed this, which we did not, or at least warned that we were being allocated this facility
9,2 Excellent
Pros: Location, Location, Location only 200 metres from the Palace, located in the heart of the village it was absolutely perfect. The staff at the restaurant were wonderful and definitely worth having dinner there during any stay.
Cons: Having chosen the property partly based on the availability of parking it was concerning that there was none available when we checked in at 3pm. We were just lucky that a spot was free on the small street outside.
5,0 Okay
Pros: The location is well situated, it is a short 5 minute walk to the town centre but do not be tempted by the many restaurants on the square as they are overpriced, crowded and disappointing. The views from the hotel windows are one of the redeeming features of this underwhelming and disappointing establishment.
Cons: Lawrence's Hotel claims to be the oldest hotel on the Iberian Peninsular and to be honest it shows. Our experience did not meet our expectations at all as we were hoping for a charming and historic spot in magical Sintra. However, we were met with taciturn staff upon check-in and promptly realised the air conditioning vent in the William Beckford room was antiquated and extremely loud. We made a complaint to the staff and were thankfully moved to their suite. Although the suite was much roomier the same problem was in this room as well: old, cranky air vents which operated and clanked all through the night even when seemingly turned off. The minibar was completely empty in both our rooms and the complementary water was from the tap and then bottled. The 'bar' area in Lawrence's is non-existent for guests and is shared with the visitors on the street so the only seating area is a small corner of the general thoroughfare, the bar also promptly closes at 7pm every evening as day-visitors to Sintra return to Lisbon (be aware that Sintra has no night-life and very few restaurants / bars worth visiting). The breakfast is not worth getting up for as the quality is quite poor, though the food in general in Sintra is overpriced and poor. We did not dine here in the evening due to the breakfast so would recommend Romaria de Baco or Tascantiga. We had arranged an airport shuttle at the time of booking which was confirmed by the hotel. Upon check out we asked them to confirm this booking which was for later on that day. Both staff seemed perplexed and had no record of the booking. After much frantic and unprofessional chatting between them and calling car services we decided to get an Uber for half the price and none of the hassle. We were thoroughly disappointed by Lawrence's and would not recommend staying here under any circumstances. The whole hotel feels dated, tired and poorly run.
7,9 Good
Pros: Breakfast was lovely on the patio.
Cons: We drove into Sintra from Lisbon. Very difficult to navigate around Sintra. Wished I knew that the hotel did not have any parking available. Also, the staff did not do a good job showing us around the hotel. Our first-floor room looked right outside the sidewalk restaurant. When I opened the window, it looked out over someone's table. We booked far in advance and should have been provided with a room in a better location in the hotel
9,2 Excellent
Pros: Beautiful building with historic connections
Cons: It was all good
10,0 Excellent
Pros: Such a great location. Very quaint and the rooms were very nice!
9,6 Excellent
Pros: Traditional and comfortable Excellent breakfast - breakfast table water excellent, helpful and considerate Wonderful setting
Cons: Noisy at night in the hotel We had a room on the reception floor and there seemed to be much activity in early hours
7,5 Good
Pros: LOCATION,LOCATION,LOCATION BUT VERY HARD TO FIND. THE TURN OFF ONTO THE CORRECT ROAD EASY TO MISS. UPGRADE TO SUITE NEEDED TO AVOID CLAUSTROPHOBIA. STAFF HELPFUL AND SPOKE ENGLISH. THE HOTEL HAS MANY LEVELS BUT HAS ELEVATOR. QUIET. COMFORTABLE. REALLY LIKED THE SUITE WITH SITTING ROOM.
Cons: OUR GPS DID NOT WORK. STREET SIGNS TO HOTEL OBSCURED BY MANY OTHER SIGNS SO LAWRENCES JUST ONE OF MANY. THE DOUBLE ROOM SMALLER THAN ON A CRUISE SHIP AND LESS WELL DESIGNED.
3,0 Mediocre
Pros: Location and the restaurant was excellent good food and wait staff
Cons: Bed was rock hard and the pillows were very bad on my neck, The hotel advertised parking available but they don’t have enough parking for all guests. You can’t prebook parking so that was a disaster, also no wifi access was provided.
10,0 Excellent
Pros: Staff wonderful. Cozy bed. Great breakfast
Cons: The bathroom, particularly the shower, had lots of mold/mildew

Attentive, but unobtrusive resident manager and an exceptional breakfast in elegant space next to the garden. 2 block walk to Sintra’s central plaza.
Cons: Card Payment machine didn’t work, and we had to walk to the plaza for an atm. Otherwise fine.
