The hotel interior itself is a little outdated but we were surprised by having an amazing room. Huge, well appointed with a modern bathroom and incredibly comfy beds. Breakfast was lovely and we had a great view over the Sintra hills. The location is exceptional right in the middle of old Sintra. I highly recommend this hotel!
No vegetables at brekfast
The location of the hotel is right in the centre of the city, however, it's not easy to navigate if driving and trying to get to the hotel's parking garage.
A two-star hotel, with a four-star rating, not sure how this happened? The hotel is extremely outdated, the rooms have been renovated however, the shower was broken in our room and we had to be moved. We entered into the second room, where the bathroom drain was broken, and also falling apart. There's no option to valet your car, so you have to navigate your way through the small winding roads to reach the parking garage (the map that is provided at check in is pretty useless). Overall, not very impressed by the hotel features, also there are no amenities or meals that are included in the price.
No air conditioning in hotel as it was October but was very hot and unbearable to sleep in hot room so we only stayed one night instead of the 2 nights we had booked.
Breakfast was good. Location excellent
Stay in Sintra’s main square opposite the 15th century medieval National Palace when you choose the Tivoli Sintra Hotel. Perfectly located in this UNESCO-listed town, it puts you within easy reach of attractions including the Palace of Monserrate and the Pena Palace. Stunning views are one of the hotel’s big attractions. You can see the Moorish Castle – and even as far as the sea – from the lobby balcony. Many of the 77 rooms offer terraces and balconies from which you can admire views of the medieval village, the Sintra Valley and the castle. Rooms are also equipped with Nespresso machines, free Wi-Fi and flat-screen TVs. Start your day right with the English and Continental buffet breakfast served in Monserrate Restaurant, featuring a feast of fruit, breads, cheeses and pastries. If you want to try Portuguese specialties, try dinner in the restaurant, where traditional favorites like codfish are on the menu, as well as international cuisine. You can round off the evening with a nightcap in the lobby bar. The Tivoli Sintra provides the perfect venue for meetings and special occasions in rooms offering mountain views.
