Cons: Not a great deal of sound protection between the function room and the rest of the hotel; luckily enough the DJ was on point and I was happy enough listening to that until 11:30pm. If I was a few decades older I may have been a little less satisfied.

Sir Stamford At Circular Quay - Sydney - Building
6
9,2 Excellent (3 710 reviews)
R3 451+
Overview Reviews
With a stay at Sir Stamford At Circular Quay, you'll be centrally located in Sydney, steps from Circular Quay and 6 minutes by foot from Sydney Opera House. Featured amenities include a business center, express check-in, and express check-out. Self parking (subject to charges) is available onsite.
10,0 Excellent
Pros: Great hotel location, within minutes to Circular Quay ferries and the restaurant area and 5 mins to Opera House. Car parking at the hotel, very friendly and efficient staff who warmly welcomed us. Hotel interior is magnificently decorated. Room was enormous, compared to most Sydney hotels and very clean, with views overlooking the Harbour Bridge. Great sundeck and swimming pool for relaxation. Good information for deals and meals etc displayed within the hotel. Budget priced which amazed me. Have no hesitation in recommending to travellers looking for a high quality hotel at a reasonable price in Sydney CBD. Will be going back again.
Cons: Couldn't stay a few more nights!! Next time.
8,0 Excellent
Pros: Friendly and young staff—and location! Right near the cruise ship port and opera house! Good view of THE BRIDGE from back windows!
Cons: Room service came at all hours, would knock once then open the door. Furniture in rooms a little dated.
5,0 Okay
Pros: Excellent room with quality furnishings and very comfortable bed, clean, excellent location near Sydney Opera House and Circular Quay, great view of Harbour Bridge, let down by abysmal service and administration, poor communication and very poor breakfast. My room and the lobbies were spacious and tastefully furnished with antique style furniture, but the small poky breakfast room was dirty and unattended by staff, with waiters only popping in and out occasionally. They had no record of my prepaid breakfast despite me asking the receptionist upon checkin. My breakfast table was strewn with previous guest's dirty dishes and they took 30 minutes to clear it. Buffet breakfast was very basic cold selection, fresh fruit but only individual celophane packs of cheese, soggy pastries and stale bread. I intended swimming in the pool but it was unheated outdoors in the smog and was extremely cold.
Cons: Abysmal service and administration, poor communication and very poor breakfast. They invoiced my room again for breakfast as they had no record of my prepayment through booking.com. The hotel website claims best price guarantee, but it was dearer than booking.com, and the hotel website would have charged an extra $79 for breakfast for one. Avoid the poor hotel breakfast as there are many good breakfast restaurants a few minutes walk away overlooking the harbour and Circular Quay. The location is very handy, but a very steep walk up the hill from Circular Quay.
10,0 Excellent
Pros: Perfect hotel in best location
10,0 Excellent
Pros: perfect location, friendly staff, great room and even a pool
Cons: air conditioning wasn't cold enough, staff did try to fix it for us though
10,0 Excellent
Pros: I like the old school charm. A concierge is there right when you walk in. The place was decorated wuth classy Christmas decorations. You just felt important as a guest.
Cons: The bathroom had a room for the toilet but no door. Seems like the door would be a bonus so someone can get ready while soneone uses the toilet.
9,4 Excellent
Pros: Very large rooms and bathrooms, a lot of counter space, every room amenity we prefer. Best customer service was they suggested we could use showers in their gym/sauna/pool area when we arrived at 8:00 am after a 15-hour flight. Made such a difference in our day! And they got our room ready by noon, too. And the location can't be beat.
Cons: This hotel has an "Old English" vibe so if you want a young, hip vibe it's not for you. But if you want to be able to walk to the Circular Quay, Opera House, Royal Boranical Garden, ferries, the Rocks neighborhood, and a train station, it's excellent.
10,0 Excellent
Pros: Very nice room. Great staff.
9,0 Excellent
Pros: Location
Cons: No coffee maker, worn towels
10,0 Excellent
Pros: Outstanding staff, great location and cool classis hotel with lots of marble, crystal and classic art.
Cons: Bar staff was a bit off-putting but otherwise great experience.
10,0 Excellent
Pros: This hotel was great. More of a B&B feel than a hotel experience. The staff in the Bar were really very nice and the feel of every public area was welcoming.
Cons: A couple of maintenance items. fabric on chairs in the room was wore through to the original fabric. plumbing fixes in the bathroom were a little average
10,0 Excellent
Pros: Brillant stay. Staff so helpful and considerate . Room upgraded on arrival . Birthday cake for my young son. Best location . Will be back .

Pros: The employees were friendly, approachable and always eager to help. The location was within walking distance of almost everything. Definitely request a room with a view of the Oper House.
Cons: I had a basic room. I previously stayed at another Four Seasons in a suite and it was amazing. I think I was spoiled. The bathroom at this hotel was ridiculously small I could hear everything out in the hallway outside my door.

8,0 Excellent
Pros: The roll down double screens blocked sun light ,and the double paned windows ensured a quiet, restful sleep . The entire staff (reception, cleaning, restaurant, valets)were consistently friendly and cheerful every single one of the 10 days I stayed there. Smiles and positive tones-without exception. The breakfast buffet was comprehensive, with many healthful options.
Cons: It seemed more of a business/conference hotel than a place to stay on vacation. But I’d stay here again, with no hesitations.

Pros: Clean, nice rooms , good facilities , great location
10,0 Excellent
Pros: The customer service was incredible. Nothing was a problem and all the staff were happy, friendly and willing to help with anything. The room was incredible and nothing short of luxury. Value for money - given the customer service, the location (close to everything - transport, shopping, eateries, easy walk to the water) and the comforts of the room. Absolutely worth it!
8,3 Excellent
Pros: very neat and fairly large rooms. the park view is beautiful.
Cons: initially we were in a 'park view' room which did not face the park at all. you have to crane your neck out of the window to see the park. this should not be sold as park view. staff were happy to move us to a front facing room with beautiful view.
10,0 Excellent
Pros: Great service
9,0 Excellent
Pros: Bed comfy
Cons: It was a bit noisy outside and no view
7,0 Good
Pros: Everything was great at the hotel, great bed, large, recently updated, good facilities.
Cons: I fly at night, asked if I could use the gym to shower when I got back to the hotel (checked out that morning, collected bag in the afternoon) and was told that I would be charged $20 to use the gym / shower? I could have used the shower on arrival but not departure? Very short sighted. A first for me, and I stay in Sydney regularly for work. Would not come back.
9,6 Excellent
Pros: Perfect location friendly staff
Cons: Wasn’t too fused on the bed a little hard The light under the tv I hate lights I had to hide with pillows and no cocktails before 4pm we did get told to go down to high tea but we waited 10 minutes and no one came to us so we left

10,0 Excellent
Pros: Great location. Lovely staff. Rooms large and comfortable bed. Very clean. I was celebrating my birthday and the hotel gave me a bottle of sparkling wine and a lovely chocolate dessert. So thoughtful and made my day very special.
Cons: Everything was perfect
6,0 Good
Pros: Proximity to all Sydney sites
Cons: The deluxe king room was a let down . It did not look anything like the adverts and there quite a few weird things like no mood lighting even though there were lamps it was a master switch for all lights. The bedside table was not properly fitted and wobbled. The breakfast venue outside seating was constantly under siege by seagulls swooping on to the tables and taking food. The waiting staff were slow to set tables, bring water, restock plates etc. The in room dining wait was in excess of 1 hour for fish and chips at midnight. The bathroom towels allocation was 1 per person and the staff at reception were disinterested in following up on requests. The minbar was not restocked with snacks in 3 nights we were there.
8,0 Excellent
Pros: Great location and staff
Cons: More smiles
10,0 Excellent
Pros: Air conditioning and room lighting was great! Big comfortable bed and Nespresso unit in room was great! Will come back.

Cons: Well, I couldn't actually use the pool cause it was in a very busy roof top bar I would have been a go go girl with a difference! Not a good look But I didn't mind Just had a shower
1,0 Poor
Pros: Vintage lobby and great use of a nearly 100 year old building
Cons: Pool and Rooftop bar closed from Friday till Monday for private events. No selection at the breakfast bar
10,0 Excellent
Pros: Location is perfect, a block from transit, tons of shopping and excellent Asian food. Unlike similarly priced hotels, the Primus has a ton of character, thanks to its very sensitive adaptive reuse of a very stylish 1939 government office building.
Cons: My only (very minor) complaint was that the fancy lighting automation in the room was a little touchy, and a couple of lamps wouldn't shut off entirety on their own ” I had to switch them off at the wall outlet. Otherwise, I had an outstanding stay!
8,0 Excellent
Pros: The rooms were spacious.
Cons: Overall I had a pleasant stay, however this hotel is not really a five star hotel especially when comparing other to other five star hotels like the shangri La, park Hyatt, or even the Marriott downtown. There just a difference in how personalized theyare
10,0 Excellent
Pros: the cleanliness, and modern conveniences. The rooftop pool was great, but had limited seating.
Cons: How hard it was to find. There is no exterior signage, which is because it is a heritage building, but when driving around in a busy city downtown, it becomes quite stressful and unpleasant. It is under renovation and our room had no view out of the wind

Pros: we liked the beautiful old house ,very clean and nice .staff friendly .we liked the lift up to the top rooms ,they gave us a free breakfast ,every thing was set out loverly ,we also loved all the little sitting areas ,scattered around the property ,I would like a longer stay there ,Bout 9pm
Cons: we didn’t like in the advertising for the property ,it said short walk from the ferry ,and we understand the bus went past the manor ,but no it goes down a different street ,very isolated when we got off ferry ,we had to walk up this steep hill ,in the heat on that day pulling our bags , I am 71 and I have a breathing problem , it was very hard to make it ,up the hill ,I wouldn’t have booked if I had known the bus didn’t go past the manor ,also when we went to our room there was a large wet patch on the carpet near the bed ,we could smell a vomit smell ,in the room we covered it with one of the towels ,who ever cleaned the room didn’t do a good job ,we went down to look for some staff ,but it was 9pm or so and no one around ,,we didn’t bother mentioning it the next morning ,
9,2 Excellent
Pros: Lovely homely little place in a great location in North Sydney.
Cons: Rooms slightly small.

Cons: It is on the North Side of Sydney Harbour, this isn’t an issue, but would have been nice to know, there are Ferries that run regularly (for a reasonable fee) and provide a wonderful view of the Harbour every time you cross the Harbour.

1,0 Poor
Pros: Location is great.
Cons: Valet service was very unprofessional. Forced program change on our digital display to change the radio station and deleted all the programming to the vehicle. Auto lights, display and all default settings removed. Not only was this very distressing driving home we rang hotel 3 times before someone bothered to call us back. The valet service does not have permission to touch anything in the vehicle other than the mirrors and the seat for adjustment to drive. They are not to change radio stations or default settings within the car for their pleasure. We will now have to get our car serviced to reinstall the default settings. The hotel charged up $240 to park the car for 3 days and it will cost us at least that to fix everything they have wiped from the computer and more... Very angry! This is NOT the first time either... We have stayed here for the last few years to celebrate our anniversary and complete Christmas shopping. The same issue with tampering with vehicle has happened before. We wrote a letter of complaint last year and were ensured this was not current practice and that it would never happen again. Well it did! Only worse this time... We have lost all faith in this hotel.
10,0 Excellent
Pros: I struggled with the best location to serve as home base in Sydney and the Swissôtel was perfect to hit all the top attractions while also being close to a train stop from the airport. Additionally, it was an easy walk to other neighborhoods like Surrey Hills and close to a Big Bus stop.
Cons: The only thing i can think that wasn’t stellar was the tv station selection in the room. That’s hardly a reason to select any hotel- just a way to wind down before bed. The pros far outweigh this one con :)

4,2 Okay
Cons: Vert poor service for the Swissotel, I been in many of them, this is the worst, plus they overcharged me twice , by billing my credit card twice and with higher rate then booking quoted to me. Still trying to get back my 850US dollars to CC. Watch your bill very carefully, and better to stay in another hotel for this money. Facility need some heavy facelifting, pool and spa are terrible. Never go back

Cons: The intercom phone in my room was not working.
7,5 Good
Pros: Located in central Randwick.
Cons: Carpet was very dirty.
7,0 Good
Pros: Great central location in Randwick and we were able to walk to both restaurants and shops and the UNSW campus.
Cons: We were not aware that no one was available at the front desk after 8pm and having gone out for dinner and returning at 8:30 we discovered we only had two sets of towels for three people. A phone call didn't help to resolve the issue. Bed was quite hard in the main bedroom and sofa bed mattress was not comfortable. Consequently none of the three adults had a comfortable sleep, although the location was quiet.

Pros: We were being moved to avoca lodge due to st marks randwick renovation. Avoca lodge was pretty good and met our expectations. Loved the big room and big toilet. We were lucky we got room 109 on the first floor as my mum could not use the stairs. Great facilities as they provide washing machine, dryer, ironing board, utensils and even microwave. Its a short walking distance from the lodge to the bus stop just behind tk get to the city. From the airport, theres a direct bus to the avoca lodge which made things easier and saved us money!
Cons: Reception hours could be longee.
9,2 Excellent
Pros: Not applicable as we did not use those facilities. Was handy to where we had to go.
Cons: A lid on the toilet. We were ground floor the floor boards were so noisy when we walked. Hanging space was over the tea/coffee making area.
10,0 Excellent
Pros: I didn't know they had breakfast. The room was clean, the staff friendly and helpful.
8,0 Excellent
Pros: I stayed in an alternate accomodation of the Lodge due to St Marks being under reno The accommodation is still good The location is great and very close to the place I was going to for work
Cons: There was not much I didn't like WOuld use it again
9,2 Excellent
Pros: Free secure parking was an unexpected bonus. The room was large and had everything we needed.
Cons: The taps in the shower were noisy and might need some attention but otherwise the bathroom was new and very clean.
8,8 Excellent
Pros: great location
7,5 Good
Pros: The lodge exterior and interior layout of the room was lovely and the receptionist was nice.
Cons: The bathroom had an unclean pipe/sewerage smell, there was a large stain on the carpet just outside the bathroom, bits of hair on the shower wall and the lamp on the right side of the bed was too far from the powerpoint to be plugged in. There was a lot of noise coming through the door, especially very late at night, which was disturbing and effected our sense of privacy.
7,5 Good
Pros: The room was clean and in a decent location. I liked the outdoor communal seating for us to enjoy our take-aways.
Cons: It was not communicated to us ahead of time how to get into our room if we arrived after reception closed. Luckily we arrived as the staff was leaving to get our room key. They did email us (which I discovered later) but as a visitor from another country we don't always have access to our email. Just a heads up on what to expect would have been appreciated, to eliminate worry when we have travelled far and are tired. The bathroom was very small.
9,6 Excellent
Pros: See comment above.
Cons: I really enjoyed my stay overall. The staff was helpful and friendly. One tip: inform some that ur kitchen facilities are outside. I did not mind but some people might, especially Americans. The facility was very clean. No problems at all.

Cons: If you are elderly or have an issue with stairs then make sure you request a lower floor. For me the staircase was not an issue but if carrying heavy luggage it would have been. Perhaps including this in description might be of assistance
