Cons: The rooms needed some maintenance, and I cannot be the first ones to notice it. There was mildew in the shower on the ceiling that needed to be bleached. The shower leaked into the bathroom, because the original construction did not properly angle the tile to make the water drain back into the shower. The sink stopper did not stay plugged. The phone in the room did not work. Again, I cannot be the first person to notice all these. Why have they not been addressed?

Pros: Fortunately we were able to get a last minute reservation which turned out fantastic . Convenient, clean, helpful. Staff was very friendly. Included fast pass definitely compensates. Safety measures taken with hotel key iD's gave further comfort.

Cons: I had a wet spot on my carpet and found a hair on a "clean" towel. I think this was probably because they were so busy due to it being Christmas, because I've stayed here twice before and never experienced issues before. Still disappointing though, for the price you pay to stay here, you don't expect any snags.

Cons: New bedroom decor is a disaster. Feels like a 70s nightmare and cheapens what used to feel like a luxury hotel. Same goes for the corridors leading to the rooms. The building of the Saphire Falls also ruins the outlook of the hotel. It used to feel like an idyllic South Pacific getaway. Now the view reminds you that you're just in another hotel block, so that special feel has gone. Lastly, charging to park in the hotel car park? Really? That really is fleecing your guests. over the years I've stayed at this hotel probably half a dozen times. I won't be back unless things change.

Pros: This hotel is super convenient for visiting the universal parks. Your room key is your express pass, which is a huge a bonus. Rooms size was decent and has keurig and mini fridge. Beautiful grounds, nice pool, friendly staff.
Cons: The beds/pillows are not very comfortable. While the pool area is nice, I wish there were a second “quiet,” or adult pool with additional hot tub. This hotel certainly caters to families, but not everyone has kids, and something less chaotic for relaxing would have been nice.

Pros: - Great front office staff - Excellent concierge - very fast elevators - The coffee in the room was great - TV in mirror was great (yet it did not change channels or volume correctly) - housekeeping evening service was excellent when I called for more water and coffee - comfortable bed - fast operator responses and efficient over the phone - centrally located near OCCC. A lot of walking is needed as the area is massive - Great restaurants near-by - beautiful pools yet the weather was unfortunately too cold to swim
Cons: - Took a long time to get hot water in the shower during my 4 days stay. - Bathroom cleanliness was not the best I have seen. I always noticed an odor and felt it was not fresh and fully sanitized - The TV in the mirror did not work correctly and seemed to hang up when i try to change the channel or raise the volume - I had mold in the shower grout, yet this was fully cleaned on the 3rd day I was there. - safe battery was weak and barely opened to get my stuff out. Then it did not work afterwards. - TV had an issue and did not work on my 3rd night. I called it in yet I did not get a tech within 50 minutes to fix it and i had to sleep in the afternoon before going out. When I returned late at night the TV was fixed. .

Pros: Very spacious room with upscale amenities. The bar (Rocks) that was just off the hotel lobby was great with tasty bar fare and drinks. Breakfast at B-line Diner was on point. Hotel was within walking distance of Pointe Orlando that had many restaurants to choose from. Staff was friendly.

Pros: LOVE the location! Can't beat the ease of going to the OCCC from the hotel. It's the main reason I choose to pay this price. Hyatt Staff are most accommodating! They address any complaint immediately and they put up with so much nonsense from crazy tenants from one convention to the next. My kids LOVE the pool! They went every day until it would rain.
Cons: Our bathroom need more TLC. The shower curtain was musty (need to be changed our), but we were too busy to stop and complain about it. I'm sure they would have taken care of it right away. Our tub needed to be drained. Every time we showered, water came up to our ankles and took forever to go down. Again, we were in and out so much, no time to stop and whine about it. Overnight parking fee was outrageous, but whatever. I think it's ridiculous to charge hote guests to park.

Pros: The hotel room was good with most amenities provided. The swimming pool was large enough for adults and families with kids to enjoy within the same facilities.
Cons: Despite all the good qualities, this hotel experience was ruined by the nightly resort fee of $20 charged during checkout. As far as I read during the booking process and the Terms and Conditions, this nightly resort fee is not mentioned anywhere, and guests believe that the amount that they pay through online booking sites are the total mandatory fees, with only optional incidentals charged during checkout. This is deceitful to the guests. Either include the resort fee in the upfront charges or state that this charge is mandatory and will be applied during checkout.

Pros: the room was clean and comfortable, quite large the bedding was very nice no problems with the room itself the hotel was clean and functional--we were only there one night so i didn't get a chance to see the pool, but i'm sure it was fine
Cons: too many"extra" charges--taxes, resort fee etc. Too big and corporate feeling--i felt trapped in there there was a long line to check in the steak house was extremely pricey but cookie cutter...we were two women (model & writer) the sharpest people in the room and they stuck us at a dark, table in the back of the room and offered us the stingest wine pour I've had in years for a $12/glass wine. there was no charm or authenticity, felt totally impersonal staff were okay but acted more like hourly-wage employees (ie: didn't really care or seemed to have no idea what hospitality really means) perhaps it was b/c it's spring break, but the other guests were poorly dressed and lacked manners I would take a charming and well-run inn with less bells and whistles, but a decent chef, bartender and some personal touches over this any day

Pros: The pool was wonderful (although it rained all week - I squeezed in one time to visit). The staff was great. It was beautiful - everywhere. Free parking with handicapped tag! This would be a great place to stay for young people who walk well - especially with children who could enjoy the awesome pool. Very easy to get to in the elevator in second tower. We liked to lights under the furniture that seemed to be motion sensitive!!! They did have coffee maker in room and fridge - but no freezing compartment or microwave. Plenty of very fast elevators!!!
Cons: It was just too big for people with mobility issues. Asked for a room by the elevator so they gave us a handicapped room pretty far down from elevator. From the second tower, it was very hard to walk to a restaurant in the hotel. We were there for a conference in Conference Center "across the street". Tried very hard to research best hotel. No shuttle from Hyatt because it was "too close", but way too far to walk - so had to take taxis. They had shuttles for other hotels in the area. Not so sure about the TV in the mirror? Maybe it was because it was a handicapped room but the only time you could see it was while using the sink - and it interfered with line of vision to put make up on, brush hair, etc. for a fairly short woman. Did not like paying up front months in advance... For this price they should offer a free continental breakfast! We stayed in a $65 hotel the night before and the room was similar - and they offered a free full hot breakfast.

Pros: While not the most elegant place to stay it is a great value if you want to stay on Universal property. Early admission and bus transport to park made All the difference in our Harry Potter experience! And the cafeteria had very well prepared food (and large portions) for breakfast/dinner at a reasonable price. Important for us as my husband has to watch diet due to diabetes.

Cons: They put us in the wrong room when we asked and paid for a room with a view of Volcano Bay. Then we moved to another room and the TV was broken. We called them several times but the TV remained broken. The place has no proper restaurants. Only a diner/supermarket kids place. We were very dissatisfied

Cons: The quality of the food was awful, would not call any staff member a cook, service was slow without a smile, towels by the pool laying on the floor everywhere, walk ways with many towels laying everywhere, plastic cups thrown on the floor, the usage of illegal marihuana was smelled by elevators at my building the Americana and hallways were filled with trays of dirt and smelly old so called food. Will never return here

Pros: The lazy river was the most relaxing, after a day out. Buses to the Universal parks was handy. Nice looking hotel inside and outside. Security patrol on the parking lot at night time.
Cons: Had to buy the tubes for the lazy river, or bring your own. Staff just doing their job, but not make you feel welcome. There is no parking space available, when you check in or out, unless, you get lucky and find one, before someone else takes the short term spot. No business centre, been told at the desk, it's not a business hotel. All I wanted is to print out my boarding pass. Lucky, a lady on vacation, told me, the guys booking transportations, they willing to help, if I ask them nice, which they did. Not returning here any more, didn't make me happy and welcome. I can get that in any other cheaper hotel.

Pros: The Cabana Bay was everything you look for in a theme park hotel: super convenient, great pool, with on-site cafeteria and souvenir shops. The park shuttle bus came by every few minutes and the ride was quick.
Cons: The lazy river at the Continental/Americana pool requires you to buy inner tubes, which only got a couple of uses from us. it would be more efficient to allow guests to borrow them.

Pros: My daughter & her family were staying at the hotel, and I joined them for 1 night.I checked in early before rooms were available. I asked for a room close to hers and near an elevator if possible. The staffer said they'd do their best, took my cell phone number, gave me a key card and said they'd text me while I was at the theme park. They came through on all counts & even programmed my key card remotely.

Pros: The theme of this property is really fun. From the lobby, to the pool, food court and rooms. We love staying here. Never have to wait long for a bus to the parks. My husband uses a scooter and everyone is always very helpful. I can't wait to go back. It's very comfortable with plenty of places to relax. Our last night there they were playing movies by the pool. So much fun!!!!
Cons: This is very minor, but I dislike the bedding. They use a flat sheet instead of a fitted. This complaint seems silly (even as I type it) but it was uncomfortable at 2 a.m. after a very long day at the park. But I love everything else about this property.

Pros: The room and property were great! Love the décor and details at the hotel. My puppy, who came along for the trip received a welcome bag which included a very cute Hard Rock dog bowl. We would have loved to stay there more days since it was so comfortable and felt safe. The ease of getting to City Walk be that by boat, or walking was awesome! Also, for being guests at the hotel, we received complimentary Express Pass to both Island of Adventure and Universal. That was neat!
Cons: The only bad thing was Housekeeping...timing housekeeping to clean the room so it wouldn't cause a scene (barking, making the dog nervous) with our puppy was rough. We had come back from the parks and would wait up to 2 hours before we left for dinner. I called housekeeping to come in and clean the room, telling them that I will be out within the next 2 hours, so if they could send someone ASAP so we are with the puppy be that in the room or outside of it (the puppy would stay in the room while we would be out on dinner). No one ever came to turn our room over and we called front desk several times and waited the 2 hours. I guess housekeeping was MIA. So during our stay, we never got fresh towels and our beds was never made. Things could be worse though.

Pros: Universal early entry and express passes are invaluable. Spotless hotel and pecable staff. Room clean but small (then again you are only in to a very short time).
Cons: Parking $23 + tax per day or $29 plus tax valet parking. Priced cleverly so you will opt for valet. Either way this cost is just a way of adding $ to your bill. Make sure you factor in an extra $58 plus tax per overnight stay. As long as you know to account for it when booking then it's more palatable.

Cons: Chose this facility for location first and amenities second. While the Matisse buffet was tasty, the brunch at the poolside area was not great. Had wanted better coffee, half and half, and real sugar in the room with the coffee maker, little details that make morning pleasant. But, we were unable to visit what looked like a very nice coffee bar downstairs. Next time we will order breakfast in the room and bring real sugar and creamer if we stay again. Beds were very comfy, staff was very kind. A few details were odd like the toilet paper holder was broken, and the tub drain was broken. But everything was very clean and the shower was nice. Overall a good experience.

Pros: great location, beautiful hotel, when you have a problem with something in your room the maintenance staff gets there pretty quick.they have the most comfortable beds.the rooms are very nice and the view was awesome.
Cons: the a/c did not work in our room, it kind of smelled like old smelly carpet party because the room was hot. when they did come to fix the a/c they said we would have to pop open the front panel on the unit to change settings because the wall control did not work. we also set the do not disturb button and at about 830 am house keeping tapped like crazy with what i think was there keys and when i opened the door they said"oh your not up yet" and walked to the next room and started tapping. when i pulled in front of the hotel to check in while my wife sat in the car the valet jumped in and moved it twice in the 5 minutes i was inside, there was hardly anyone in the huge driveway at the entrance.

Pros: I have stayed at several Rosen Hotels recently and this was one of my favorite hotels out of the Rosen family chain in Orlando. Id love to stay at the Shingle creek Rosen but its always out of budget but this hotel is well maintained, modernly updated with beautiful renovated rooms. This hotel has many amenities including a hotel pool bar, hot tub, Starbucks coffe, and a nice modern club although wasnt our style or that busy on the weekend we stayed. Very well worth checking this hotel out and the staff is very friendly and accommodating! Will def stay again!!!

Cons: A bell hop came to our room to load our luggage on the cart and then stayed with it outside until I got my truck, but then my luggage was handed off to a vallet employee who loaded it in the vehicle. This made me feel like I had to tip two people when I felt the bell hop fully deserved the entire tip! I realize tipping is optional; however, both were performing a service for me and it put me in an uncomfortable position to either short someone, not pay someone, or pay more than I wanted to pay out for a tip. Also, I had asked for a late checkout and was granted one (thank you!), but this information was not communicated to the maid and it was obvious she was not happy (with me) about it.

Cons: Their first mistake was they messed up my reservation. I was booked for two days yet they only had me in their system for one day even though I was prepaid. When I told them at the front desk they did nothing about it. Instead they told me to call a reservations number. I felt that they should have taken ownership of the problem. On top of that I had reserved a VIP room that was supposed to include an upgraded room, breakfast, and complimentary hors d'oeuvres. I didn't receive that at the hotel refuse to do anything about it. If that wasn't enough it amazes me that hotels of that caliber charge for everything. You have a car to park it's $23 per day. If they received mail for you they charge by the pound. Need a document printed? This will cost you at least a dollar a page. There are fees and service charges for room service and just about everything that you could ask for. Many of their competition do not charge these ridiculous fees and often have complimentary Business Services. I'm not sure what their target market is but I personally would not visit them again. In Orlando there are far too many better choices.

However, you need these to get out of the deck, we had to check out a 4 am to make out flight so fast check out was needed. Well it was totally pointless when I had to go by the front desk anyway when I couldn't get out of the lot. I would expect much more plush beds in a hotel at this price. Then there were the walls, the rooms have a pass through door. I see the point in it. However, you can make out the conversations going on in the next room. Not to mention any noises in the hallway.

He was so sweet and happy. He made everyone in the group feel so special and cared about. Javier was the brightest part of the whole trip!

Pros: Our rate (which was very good!) must have qualified us for being housed on a renovation floor. We were told at check in that there was work being don on the floor & there would be plastic on the floor in the hallway, but the workers should be done for the day. Although our room was completed, there were some paint/carpet glue fumes in the room and still a bit of construction noise on the floor at 6 pm. Another concern was at what time would the work start up again in the morning.... After calling down to the front desk, they did move us to another floor that had completed renovation. Noise did start up again about 9 am on the floor below, but other than that, the room was comfortable, spacious & clean - a good value for the area. Having the 24 hour convenience store is a huge plus - great for picking up soda or a snack whenever!
Cons: We ordered food at the bar to take upstairs to the room & was told it would take about 20 minutes for a cheeseburger & hot dog with fries. After waiting about 25 minutes, it was finally ready - and although the fries were good, the hot dog came "naked" (and we're from Chicago, so expected at least an option of some condiments) and the burger was tasteless & dry - although it did come with tomato & some lettuce. You would be better off walking across the street to one of the chain restaurants for a quick bite or carryout...

Pros: I loved that even though it’s a lower level Rosen, it still had the Rosen customer service, and cleanliness. I couldn’t be more happier, the front desk was so sweet and I called to see who cleaned my room and I believe her name was Nilsa and she did such a wonderful job. I also loved the views from the 9th floor I could see downtown Orlando, universal and surrounding areas. I usually stay at higher star hotels but this one had to be one of my favorites so far and it was so affordable and free parking.

Pros: This isn't the first time we stayed here. love the shogun restaurant it's always a great time and great food. unfortunately the housekeeping staff does not obey the 11 o'clock checkout time we went to breakfast at the hotel and we came back all of our stuff Was thrown away even putting do not disturb sign up dod not stop the staff from going in our room way before checkout and emptying our liquor bottle and throwing away our food on the fridge and items we had gotten from universal that was on the table and nightstand. Also so not waste your money at the bar. I drink very often and can guarantee you their alcohol is water downed. We w took shots and didn't feel anything. We bought a bottle at the store on premise and that was what the housekeeping threw away. The sushi bar was excellent fresh and yummy.

Cons: The hotel ran out of parking spaces one night of our stay due to guests parking across multiple spaces and asked us to park in a handicap accessible parking space (we are not disabled and do not have a hangtag on our vehicle). The hotel refused to find alternate parking and refused to enforce its policy that guests could not take up multiple parking spaces with one vehicle. Staff was incredibly rude about this and insisted that it was better to use the accessible space and prevent its use by persons who needed it than to wake up a guest who had violated hotel parking policy. When I insisted that I would not park there staff became very rude and dismissive. I ultimately had to squeeze my car in between two cars violating the parking policy and risk damage to my property to avoid breaking the law with respect to the accessible parking.

Then, our room had the toilet broken so we had to call the office that same night we arrived twice and it still was broken because the toilet chain inside kept falling, the phone inside the room wasn't working, they brought another one and it still the connection wasn't working at all, there were roaches in the room, the walls had a couple of dents and cracks, when I went to press "sleep" on the tv's control, instead of setting up the sleep mode, it would take me to an adult channel which I did not want to even see that, the beds were small and the door in the bathroom would be so close to the toilet that would rub my legs when I had to close it.

Constant helicopter choppers whirring, car horns honking, kids running, drunk people shouting, etc. I put a "do not disturb" sign on my door for the whole weekend but someone removed it on the morning of check out and I was woken up at 8 a.m. by someone wanting to clean my room. I can't imagine why someone would have stolen that sign off my door during the night (it was there late the night before and had been there all weekend), so I'm pretty sure the cleaning team removed it on purpose to have an excuse to wake me up and get me out of there early. Check in is VERY late at 4:30 p.m. and check out is on the early side at 11 a.m. They want you in and out! Security is a joke for safety but is extremely inconvenient for guests. You can't have cabs or friends pick you up or drop you off in front of your room. You can't have food delivered to your room so I had to walk all the way to the front lobby (a long walk outside) in pajamas in the rain while in the middle of watching a movie to pick up my pizza (which I then had to carry back to my room in the rain). You have to park twice when you check in because of security and when you leave it's nearly impossible to drive back to the lobby to check out for the same reason. This might all be ok if it actually felt remotely safe but of course it isn't at all. The security gate is often just propped open and almost every time I walked past, the security guard was reading or watching TV on his phone or on a smoke break. Not to mention the fact that there's a walking path that leads directly to the rooms from International Drive without passing the security station. The bathroom is so tiny that the door almost scrapes against the toilet bowl when you open the door. It's very difficult to climb in and out of the bathroom (yes, I said climb). The beds and pillows are extremely uncomfortable so I spent the weekend with a sore lower back and stiff neck. The doors to the hotel rooms stick and are incredibly difficult to open. It was an ordeal every time I came in and out of the room. The a/c has only one setting - arctic circle cold. If you try to raise the temp to 74 or so, the heat kicks in. Did I mention it was 100F outside? This is summer in Florida. I would have loved the arctic chill if there was anything more to over me than a thin sheet and tiny blanket. Overall, the location is convenient if you want to be on International Drive and the price is reasonable but it's not worth it for the (lack of) quality unless you are really, really strapped for cash (and then you're going to have trouble enjoying Orlando).

Cons: The only bad thing was the parking. The property is kind of large and the driveway circles the property, and is one way traffic with a gate and 5 mph. So if you are in the last building, like I was, then you have to putt putt around until you get to your destination. I came back late one night after Halloween Horror Nights and putted around only to find no parking in front of my building, so I had to go against the traffic to find an open spot. A little annoying, but everything else was good.

We went to a local restaurant and came back around 3pm still not ready, waited in the lobby and at ten till 4 the room was STILL NOT ready. I asked if it would be ready within the next 10 mins all while other guests were able to check in and we some how had to be moved to a different room. My advice if someone requests an early check in get those rooms cleaned first, you are a major hotel in downtown universal there is no excuse for not having rooms available for those with reservations.

Pros: Located near Universal Studios and I-4 (most direct route to Disney World). The best feature - a Giordano’s Pizza within walking distance. The hotel has an upscale, perhaps even a little gaudy and artificially pretentious feel. The rooms and public areas are clean and well maintained.
Cons: Perhaps because of the convenient location, the roads around the hotel are very contested, making it hard to get in and out of the parking. Parking is the other issue - there is not much, and what there is, costs $12 a night. There were 2 private events at the hotel the night we checked in, and the parking was over-full with abandoned cars blocking parking empty spots, and other cars which could not get out - a perfect nightmare. Finally, the hotel seems to be the location the chain uses to lure people to Orlando for their time-share presentation - "Stay 3 nights in Orlando for free if you attend a 45 minute presentation." If you are into timeshares, great! We are not. If we ever visit Orlando again, we will choose a different hotel.

Once the parking lot is full you have to use the valet parking which costs more money. This hotel is better suited for someone that is in town for business, not a family on vacation. If you use the room service, you have to pay a $3 delivery fee and a 22% tip. The hall that our room was on had a terrible odor and there were stains on the sheets.

The fee covers things that should be included with the room rate (like use of the pool, exercise room, and internet), and which we didn't even use because we were only there overnight. Aside from that, rooms were noisy because hotel is right next to the highway. It is a 5-story walk-up with no elevator, so don't bring too much luggage. Rooms and facilities are dingier than they appear online. The place is not horrible, but there are better places to stay in the area in the same price range (especially after adding the resort fee).

Our feet were so filthy we had to clean them before we left and before bed. The crib we got for my son was dirty, old and the matress was super thin. The shower was not clean... pubic hairs in the corners. It seems like they clean but no deep cleaning at all.. i didnt see any roaches in the room like some have mentioned. I did see a dead one out of our room and it was huge. The only positive was the location and how close it was to seaworld and the property. The rooms were just ok like I said but if you want to be able to walk to seaworld then it can be worth it.

Pros: The rooms were okay, but the ongoing construction left us wishing there were headphones in our room. Also, I had to park way on the other side of the facility instead of near my room. I told them I was handicapped and could not walk any long distance, Instead of an apology, i was handed a piece of paper that said I was promised a room, not a parking place. This caused a huge amount of stress and unnecessary pain to me. As this has never come up before, I never asked if I would have a place to park.

Pros: We liked the convenient location (20 minutes to Magic Kingdom, 15 minutes to airport). We liked the friendly front desk service and facilities employees as well. Spacious rooms and room service were very appreciative with 2 kids (2 yr old and 2 mo old).
Cons: Poor bathroom design (that can be fixed rather inexpensively): shower curtain not long enough combined with curved curtain rod above straight shower basin's threshold edge resulted in water all over the floor every time we showered and we couldn't do anything to control it. Extra towels were needed regularly to keep the floor dry. Wet floors in such tight space could have been catastrophic for anyone unaware of the issue. Large door and minimal toilet room space weren't ideal either. Initial body odor smell coming from the vents was a problem for me too. Eventually it went away. Solutions: replace shorter curtains with longer curtains, replace curved curtain rod with straight curtain rod, have door swing out of bathroom instead of into the bathroom, air fresheners installed, extra towels for each room. Other suggestions would be a mini fridge on all rooms. This is important for families with young children who need to keep milk cold instead of filling a tiny ice bucket. Also I think better screening needs to happen for language capabilities for the facilities employees. They were kind but hard to understand and they didn't understand basic English. Larger trash bins in the room instead of small bins split to 2 halves (strange design) for what we assumed to be trash/recycle, but bins were too small to fit 3 empty water bottles on 1 half. Actual cup trays for the Market would be convenient for those buying hot beverages. Hotel was under construction at the time which wasn't ideal but we know the place will look beautiful when complete.

Pros: This location was beautiful and had so many things to do right in the hotel. Very clean! Green, they have a recycling program. Services galore and some cool options in the hotel room.
Cons: I guess they are adding on or doing some type of construction so finding the entrance was a pain in the you know what. When I finally did get there it was so backed up with traffic and confusing. When I finally found a place to park my car and went to check in the process was difficult because there was a mistake in the computer. Every time I asked a question to make sure I understood the instructions I was given the check in girl answered with attitude and annoyance. The entire staff seemed miserable and was not pleasant to interact with. As someone who has been in customer service for 10 years this to me is a reflection on the hotel and how they treat the employees. No free breakfast. The breakfast offered is expensive and not very descriptive on the menu. Because of the lack of description I ended up ordering something containing a food I'm allergic to.

Then they refused to give Hilton Honors points because it was booked with Kayak, then charged for water in the room because I didn’t have enough earned enough points to deserve a bottle of water. They failed to pick up my in room breakfast order I put on the door before 2am like they offered, and didn’t get a good night sleep for 3 straight nights due to thin walls and an overly loud air conditioner. In all- this wasn’t a buisnesman’s Doubletree by Hilton experience- this was a Doubletree nickle-and-dime the mid-western families first and last time in Orlando experience.

Pros: We originally had a room at another hotel, but decided to leave after getting there and learning that it was literally next door to a prison, the neighbors were noisy, and the room itself was not clean. We then booked with DoubleTree that same night and only paid a little bit more for a room much closer to Universal and a whole lot nicer. The staff was very attentive and friendly, plus when we got there, they upgraded our room to a junior suite for free! We're not sure why, but there are certainly no complaints!!! It was so great that I called out of work and we decided to stay an extra day! We are meeting up with friends in the near future in Orlando and we decided that since our last trip was such a good experience that we are going to stay at that DoubleTree again.

Pros: My three year old daughter and I ate at the on campus restaurant. It was a professional and/or romantic type setting. The wait staff was wonderful, even the manager and sous chef visited my table to ensure our meal was satisfactory. Even when my daughter was inevitably rambunctious and running around a classy restaurant, they were only understanding and helpful. I would recommend this place based on service alone. The food however was also wonderful, I had a shrimp appetizer and a steak dinner, which were both phenomenal. Thanks for a great experience!

Cons: I found a great price through Kayak but they only care for you to purchase a timeshare. If you choose not to purchase, you may not stay at any Westgate for that same value price. On top of that, the free breakfast at the timeshare presentation was horrendous. Don't bother drinking the orange or apple juice or trying the sausage and pasteries. We were promised it would last no longer than one hour but we were there for three. Parking to check in was a hassle. Not near enough spaces. Who wants to spend time in the "resort" atmosphere there when there are so many theme parks nearby. We also went to a separate vacation value presentation and tried to tell Carlos (an upper level manager hoping to close the deal) unless the offer was open ended we were uninterested at the moment. But he cut us off and said, "let me finished." So we let him explain and again said this wasn't for us. He hurriedly and rudely signed us out and was visibly pissed we didn't take his offer. Please don't stay here and waste your hard earned money on a timeshare that you'll end up paying 1.5 times more in interest. The interest rate is 17.99%. You wouldn't buy a house with that interest rate. Why buy a timeshare for that amount that you'll visit a month or less each year?

Cons: The restaurant at the resort has AWFUL service. It is a smoke house bbq joint with a pizzeria attached to it (that's the first warning sign). On my first night there, I called the Front Desk of the resort and asked to be forwarded to the pizzeria (the pizzeria does not have a direct phone number). It was about 10PM, and I spoke to a nice man on the phone and I ordered my pizza. The paperwork in my hotel room (supplied by the resort) says that the restaurant (both BBQ and Pizza) is open until 11pm, but will only deliver up to 10PM. Therefore, I placed my order in anticipation of picking up my food. When I got to the pizzeria at 10:30, the manager tells me she never saw my order. She then proceeds to tell me the ovens are shut down so she can't make a pizza, and she won't turn them back on. Then, she offers me a pepperoni pie that a customer forgot 4 hours ago for full price. I was like "Whatever" because I was starving, and she goes to retrieve the pizza, only to come back with a basket of bread and says "we threw the pizza out so you can have the leftover bread from the BBQ side of the restaurant." So I left and searched for a McDonalds. On night two, I decided to give the BBQ joint a try. I arrive the BBQ side at around 7pm, and there is no host, nor anybody waiting for tables. A host magically appears from nowhere, and asked how many guests in my party. I reply "two". She says one moment, and disappears into the restaurant. She comes back and tells me there a 15 minute wait, but I can sit at the bar if I'd like. So I go to the bar, which faces the sit-down side of the restaurant. The place is EMPTY. I could literally count the number of guests at tables on one hand. After about 10 minutes, I go back to the host and ask for an update. She replies that it is going to be an ADDITIONAL 30 MINUTES TO THE WAIT. At that point I left; this restaurant doesn't know how to resturaunt. The main lobby of the resort pushes this restaurant hard on its guests. The food might be good (I have no idea), but twice I've tried to give them money to eat, and twice they turn down my requests. I did not like the Free Breakfast to lure me into trying to sell me a timeshare. If I wanted to buy a timeshare, I would have asked them about buying one. The grounds were kind of messy. I noticed garbage around the entire facility that never was picked up during my stay which was 3 days (beer cans, wrappers, solo cups, etc.). The room wasn't super clean. It wasn't messy, however minor little things went overlooked by the cleaning staff.

Sadly we were not the only ones who were experiencing this issue, there were a number of families and couples sitting in the lobby waiting for a room to open up. Pretty big screw up. Manager offered absolutely no discount for having to wait an extra 12 hours for the room. The room we got had dirty bathrooms with hairs in the bathroom shower, stained towels, and dead flies in the jacuuzi. Obviously whoever cleaned this didn't do a good job. How this place is rated so well I don't know but I definitely will not be staying again!

Pros: Me and my boyfriend suddenly decided to take a trip to Orlando. We had never been to Universal Studios, and Westgate lakes seemed like the best option. It was really cheap, there were good amenities (pools , mini golf, restaurant), and there is a shuttle to Disney and universal every morning. We booked a studio villa and it was nice! We requested a remodeled/ waterfront room (we highly recommend this, otherwise you could be in the middle of construction or facing a highway). We got a bottom floor villa and it was a standard room with a kitchenette, king size bed, flat screen tv, shower and a jetted tub. And best of all it had and amazing view!
Cons: First of all, this hotel looks like someone once invested a lot of money into it, but then ran out of money because it outgrew itself. There are so many units and the whole resort is massive. I think if they had more money it could be a 4/5 star resort. We did have some issues with ants, but that's expected on a bottom floor unit. THEY ARE UNDER CONSTRUCTION. I just want to make sure everyone knows this because even after reading reviews I somehow didn't know that. That's probably my bad but I just want everyone to be aware of this before booking while they are under construction. Obviously things are more hectic and awkward because of renovations and road blocks. It once took us 20 minutes to drive from our unit to the lobby. But other than that, this is perfect for people looking for the resort experience on a budget. We had a fantastic time just spending time on the resort. They even deliver pizza. That's aweomse.

Pros: I am not sure why I have read any negative reviews regarding this place. Our experience was great and you simply can’t beat the excellent accommodations with spacious rooms for this price. While this resort offers timeshares, we were NEVER harassed or annoyed by any staff regarding this at any point. We were treated excellent for our entire stay and all staff did an extraordinary job making our stay awesome. Yes, the property is large but you can contact or wave down a complimentary resort shuttle any time you want. Our room was HUGE, and I was completely satisfied our entire trip. The place is very well cleaned and maintained. Staff is highly responsive to any request. Will definitely be staying again when traveling to Orlando. Highly recommended!

Cons: Our first room seemed okay at first, the furnishings were outdated but that really didn't bother us. When we went to go to bed my husband felt something crawling on his arm. We got up to find several baby cockroaches in the bed, under the mattress and on the floor. After that neither one of us could even think of sleeping. We called the front desk and they sent someone over to help us move. Our new room appeared bug free, however it was pretty dirty and even more outdated. There was obvious debris on the floor and old towels in the bathroom. But at least there were no roaches! The next day when we checked out the receptionist didn't say anything about the room change or our roach problem. We had chose Westgate because my husbands parents are owners and generally have good things to say plus we were on our honeymoon and wanted to stay at some nicer hotels. We probably will not go back.

Generally, it was a nice stay in a basic room. Convenient location to convention center (half a block away), very clean room, comfortable bed, big fridge, microwave, free wi-fi that worked most of the time, free parking, nice (but cold) outdoor pool. The Denny's next door had the friendliest servers I've ever had.
Cons: Cons: The deal with the Clarion Inn next door for breakfast was not worth it. You can pay $3.99 to go next door for the hot breakfast, which was extremely crowded, worse than average items (I'm not a picky eater at all, but I threw out my eggs, which tasted like cardboard), and no one seemed to care if we had paid or not. The other issue is that an acquaintance staying in a different room (different building, actually) at the Red Roof Inn found bedbugs. They took photos and actually caught the bedbugs, so they didn't imagine it or make it up. I checked my room VERY carefully and saw no bedbugs. Bottom line: Nice clean room in a convenient location, good deal for the money, but check for bedbugs and skip the Clarion's breakfast (eat at Denny's or I-HOP next door).

Pros: It's a bit better than another Red Rood inn I stayed at in the area (i.e. this place at least didn't cut corners when it came to renovating the rooms). It's in a slightly nicer area then the usual Irlo Bronson highway main drag area where many places are. The king bed was very comfortable (or did I just get a lucky room with a decent bed for once? lol).
Cons: Still a teeny tiny issue with basic professional maintenance (seems kind of standard procedure in the many places I have ever stayed at, but it shouldn't be). Grouting in bathroom was coming apart. A bit more explanation of the facilities available and/or an in room booklet/pamphlet explaining in details more would be nice. I personally like to see things like a fridge be a bit more standard in most rooms (I've gotten tiny little kitchenettes in my room at similar or slightly cheaper rates in other nice area hotels PLUS a basic breakfast as well without additional cost). Wifi never seemed to really work very well/at all. Would have liked to have been able to use the pool at late night hours for a little dip/swim now snd then (provided extreme discretion was used), but that's probably just me as I tend to keep late hours when I travel.

Cons: The parking was not good. Especially at night. The breakfast buffet not worth 13$ for adults. I paid for the kids but the food was nasty! Biscuit overcooked and hard, juice watered down, need I go on. We checked in a 1230 AM and we were tired but I had Doritos crumbs under the pillow. Red juice stains on the other bed. Then I had to call to get our room cleaned with fresh towels at 4pm the following day. However, at check out they stalked our room. Would come back for water park only. Stay somewhere else.

Cons: This hotel is more in line with a 2 star motel. The building in the picture is misleading as most rooms have exterior corridors which would be fine had the neighborhood been better. There were signs out front advertising “420 delivery.” For those unaware that is drug sales. I was in a black hole for cell phone signal. I was told the internet was down in the entire area only to discover that was a lie and only my building was affected. The air conditioner was a wall unit that sounded as if it was going to take off like an airplane and barely kept the room cool. Mold on the ceiling in the bathroom. Drain in tub not working. No hot water in the shower. No blackout drapes... no curtains at all for that matter. The staff did nothing to resolve any of my issues. I was told to “deal with it.” The only reason I stayed instead of getting another room is the kids fell fast asleep within minutes of arriving at 10pm and we planned to be at the water park the next morning.

Found this "resort" on Kayak and never mentioned that the water park is closed and seasonal. 80° in late November, the day before visited Sea World's Discovery Cove and spent the entire day in the water with my 6yr old. Paid a resort fee of $22 for the water park that is promoted on their video at check in. They even gave us a map of the park after sign up and the guy who signed us up told us that the water park was just behind where our room was. Perfect time to let us know the water park was closed! The next morning when my daughter and I found out from front desk girl Jimeily that it was closed for the season I asked for the $22 to be refunded and she refused. Accommodations otherwise were AWEFUL, OUTDATED and had BEDBUGS.

Pros: I love the fact that you are in walking distance of everything and if you don't choose too you dont have to leave the resort because they have on-site entertainment and food. The rooms are kept smelling good and clean. The staff is great as well. I cant wait to come back!

Cons: Uncomfortable, the items in the room were dirty, the furniture and chest of drawers old and in poor condition, rust came out of the shower for the disabled. In my reservation, the parking was included and they charged cost for that 2 times. You should remove the resort title because it is not even a fifth of that. Pools open after check out (at 11 am).

Cons: Although I expected to be bit, I woke up to find nothing shared the thin, old bed with me. Bedding and carpet looked original to the building. Bathroom was gross. Towels had ratted edges, super thin and looked like bleach was never an option. More like hand towels for bath towels. Outlets would not hold my charger plugins...too heavy and it just fell out. I won't be back. If you are looking for just a clean, comfortable bed for a good nights sleep then don't stay here. I even took pictures but this review site does not have a place to upload.

Cons: This was listed as a 3 star hotel. It clearly is not. I actually left and went to a Ramada that cost just about as much, and was way better. The place is really run down. They try to mask water damage or smoke smell with shampoo that makes the whole place smell really strongly, in a very bad way. I pulled back the covers on the bed and there was dirt on the sheets - not stains, actual pieces of dirt on the bed. Grout was filthy, things run down, it was just a really trashy place. The beds were terribly worn and uncomfortable.

Cons: The hotel needs some renovation. The carpet is worn and wasn't vacuumed before my stay. It has a slightly musty smell and they had a dehumidifier in my room. They charged an extra "facilities" fee when I checked in even though I wasn't planning to, and didn't, use any of the facilities.

Pros: Easy location, with I-Ride stops right in front of the hotel (Red line stop #9). Friendly staff, clean rooms, We were there for convention center show, and it's about a 15 minute I-Ride away (but 8pm to 10pm only). Get cheap unlimited I-Ride passes for the number of days you'll be there, or if over 65, the senior rate is only 25 cents per ride. Lots of restaurants up and down I-Drive. We've stayed there 3 times now at a third of the price closer to the convention center. Ponderosa breakfast buffet nearby was good. Walgreens next door for quick snacks.
Cons: In room air conditioning is loud, dehumidifier needed and also a bit noisy. Beds no the most comfortable. While the hotel is older, I thought it was pretty well maintained.

Pros: The lobby and the pool area were beautiful. The staff was extremely friendly and knowledgeable. There was ample parking. The location was perfect for visiting Universal Studios. Everything worked in our room. TV, A/C, dehumidifier, hair dryer, ironing board, 2 luggage racks, safe, closet with hangers, shower with tub, great wi-fi.
