I made the mistake of making my reservation downtown Victoria which the National employee caught that mistake, since i was at the airport ready to pick up the van. He helped me a great deal by finding me a van available at the airport so I could not be more grateful! Very polite, kind, helpful and provided a lot of information to a newcomer to Victoria! I would rent a vehicle from them again!Reviewed Jun 22 2023

Pros:Friendly staff, excellent location, nice comfortable vehicle.Cons:A little difficult to return the vehicle due to one way roads not easily maneuverable but on the 2nd go-around we figured out how to get into the lot and through the road construction. Nice staff, but they really scrutinize the vehicle so take pictures before you drive off the lot.Reviewed Dec 25 2019

Pros:The drop off was convenient.Cons:We went to National twice after driving a distance to get there and were not able to add a second driver either time. Misinformation, computer system down, nobody there. Very frustrating,.Reviewed Jul 29 2019

Cons:Damage check when returning felt like a criminal investigation. It ended up fine, but seemed like they were really trying to find insignificant damage to hold you accountable for. They also shadily dodged questions about the gas fill up requirements.Reviewed Jul 23 2019

Pros:Car was clean.Cons:This office has a weird after hours dropoff policy: you are "responsible for the car" even when you drop the keys off in their lock box. In short: you're responsible for any damage even after you "return" the car until they have someone process your return.Reviewed Jun 5 2019

Pros:The flexibility of 'drop-off locations' is what I appreciate. Other companies charge an additional amount if the car is dropped off at a location that is different from the locations where the car was picked up. National does not and there are several lots in the Greater Victoria area to use.Cons:The $300 deposit required when the car is picked up was a surprise. It is meant to cover outstanding claims (like parking or speeding tickets) and is becoming the standard for all rental companies, but it was still an unexpected surprise and should have been stated up front when the car was booked.Reviewed Jun 5 2019

Pros:No wait to pickup or drop off. No pressure to buy add-ons like "prepay fuel" or extra insurancesCons:Parking lot is really tiny (a bit annoying to inspect the car because of how close it ends up being parked next to other cars) but not really an issue.Reviewed Jun 4 2019

Pros:N/ACons:Having previously worked for their parent company, I've seen some poor looking offices, but this took the cake. It was a tiny, rundown, modular structure that was a wreck inside. When we finally found someone they wouldn't even try our cards because they don't take US credit/debit.Reviewed Jun 1 2019
