Cons: Our rom was at the back of the hotel and we were woken each night by the garbage trucks.

Pros: Was set for a pickup at hotel from tour company and when they were not there concierge took charge of situation by locating and calling all 3 direct numbers available until he got ahold of someone. Timing was critical as missing a tour has its own bucket of problems because of his urgency response the tour was located and all proper arrangements were honored. He was solid. Excellent location views breakfast

Pros: You really can't beat the convenience to the MEL airport. I've stayed here multiple times, even when it was owned by a different chain. And I found that the quality and service have improved over time. The wifi signal was relatively strong (always a plus), and the restaurant was enjoyable. The bed was comfy. Everything was mostly clean - except the desk chair - I just avoided it and wasn't too fussed about it.

Pros: Clean, tidy, spacious would be the words that I'd use to describe Oaks on William. The Cafe they have downstairs is really nice for breakfast.
Cons: The rooms without a view of the park look straight into an office building and with no sheer curtains I had to keep the blinds closed. The first morning I was there I ran out of hot water in the shower, but this didn't happen again. They only give 30 free wifi per day.

Pros: Great amenities, nice staff that was available at the reception desk despite our 2 am arrival from the airport. Great comfortable accommodations, spacious room, clean bathroom. Great on top of it cleaning staff. Best place we stayed out during our entire Australia trip. Central location for easy walk or tram to major tourist locations.
Cons: Would have liked free wifi for longer than 1 hour per day, but it was fine paying for the daily rate.

Pros: Really fantastic location, adjacent to Queen Victoria Market. Overall clean, simple hotel with locally made amenities which was a really nice touch.
Cons: The gentleman who checked us in was not very nice and gave us a bit of attitude when we asked about hotel parking (because the website stated there was). It wasn't a pleasant welcome or first impression.

Pros: Located in the CBD (central business district) of Melbourne, close to everything, tram running directly in front of the hotel makes it easy to get anywhere in the city. Close to museums, shopping, restaurants and the Victoria Market - this hotel has a fantastic staff who will help with all of your travel needs As a plus they serve one of the best breakfasts anywhere.
Cons: Rooms that border the street can be noisy - if possible ask for a room not facing the streets.

Pros: The location is great if you just need a place to crash in the CBD or near Southern Cross station (a 5 minute walk down Spencer St). Staff seemed friendly enough. Rooms were well laid out, in a typical budget hotel style.
Cons: Falls short, even for a budget hotel. A good, low-price hotel should still have a fresh modern feel, and have working/available amenities. Unfortunately, Atlantis doesn't currently offer this. The air con in our room was "working", but ultimately useless. Lowered the temperature in the room by 1 degree after 10 hours of use, even on maximum cooling setting. Most of the rooms in the hotel face west, so the hot afternoon sun in Melbourne is a killer without good air con. Grout in the bathroom needs re-doing. Nowhere to hang your towel so that it dries overnight. Ironing board, but no iron? Mattress fine, although certainly nothing to write home about. Pillows bad - only one per person. At least a couple of spare pillows in the wardrobe really not that hard to do.

Cons: Even though I'd booked a two night stay (in different rooms) and when I checked in at midnight, the night staff told me I could stay in the same room, they kept ringing me the next morning to see what time I was checking out. The cleaning staff almost walked in on me.....good thing I was dressed.
