I look for basically 3 things when I evaluate a hotel: cleanliness, comfort, and service. We stayed at this Quality Inn for 3 nights. Cleanliness - although there are occasionally old stains on the carpet in the hallways, our room was definitely clean. You could tell that cleanliness is definitely a priority. Comfort - the bed (king) was comfortable and the AC worked well. Although we could sometimes hear doors slamming and yelling children, there was a decent amount of protection from noises in the rooms next to ours. I wish they had more seating options in our room (like a small couch or loveseat) because not everyone wants to sit on a bed or a wooden chair during the day. The shower was decent as well. We did ask for our room to be cleaned the second afternoon we were there, but came back to it later in the day completely untouched. After contacting the front desk, they did come to give us clean towels and empty the trash…but that was a little awkward with us back in the room. The pool was closed our first day, and was very cold when it reopened, but it wasn’t bad. Service - the two guys that checked us in were great, even though there were some computer issues, they worked quickly and cheerfully to resolve the issues. Breakfast was good each morning although there was limited seating when they were busy, the toaster was trash, and I had to search the cabinets to find cups when they ran out. The lady that oversaw the breakfast area never smiled. One particular worker (I think her name was Chelsea) that worked the front desk was phenomenal with every guest and remained professional and upbeat even though the AC in the lobby wasn’t working and some customers tried to take advantage of policies and rules. She was a super star - the kind every employer wants! Just be aware: We got our room for $80 online. A relative unexpectedly came to join us and they quoted him $187 for the same room. When he showed them the online rate, they wouldn’t match it. He went back out to his car, booked the room online, then returned to the lobby and checked in. One more anecdote: I was sitting in the lobby waiting for my laundry to finish, when a couple came to check in. The desk person wasn’t there…for about 15 minutes, and you could tell that this couple was getting frustrated. I finally told them to knock on the manager’s office door (I’d seen the workers do that earlier and he had answered). He came out and told them that they should just wait a few minutes. When they told him that they had been there already for 15 minutes, he told them he’d go find somebody. He disappeared and never returned. It was at least 10 minutes more before anyone came to help them. I never saw the manager return.
