Pros: Friendly welcome, very clean, easy to find. Great location for travel to/from Scillies on the Scillonian.
Cons: The room was very small which meant climbing over my luggage to get to the bathroom. Bed was a bit too firm for my liking but that is down to personal preference.
9,6 Excellent
Pros: Julie and Chris are amazing hosts. I arrived a bit early for my check-in but Chris was happy to check me in right away and even offered me some tea to enjoy on the front patio. My room was cosy and clean with a view of the back patio. Breakfast was delicious and plenty of foods to choose from. The location is excellent, too. All in all, my stay was wonderful.
8,8 Excellent
Pros: Lovely little b&b with caring hosts. Rooms were nicely done - only stayed one night in the church view - fine for 1 or 2 nights but would be too small for long term visit. Breakfast was tasty - very accommodating to choices made the night before. Lots of little extras provided like fresh milk, DVD library, local restaurant recommendations and more. A couple that really care about their business- and this shows through.
Cons: Shower was very difficult to get at the right temperature, burning hot to cold in seconds and no inbetween! Shower tray also nearly overflowing during shower.
10,0 Excellent

Overview Reviews
Situated in the charming Penzance, by Mount’s Bay, Penmorvah is a Victorian townhouse built in 1896. Battery Rocks, the marina and the ferry terminal are within 20 minutes’ walk and the beach is a 5-minute walk from the property. Each room at Penmorvah features an en suite bathroom, a flat-screen TV, free WiFi, and tea/coffee making facilities. One room also has a bay window. 9,6 Excellent
Pros: Very accommodating and friendly owners who were able to provide information about the area and attractions. The property was extremely well presented and very clean. The room and dining rooms were bright and modern. A good choice available at breakfast and the full English was really good. The property's location was excellent and much closer to the promenade and other amenities than expected.
Cons: Shelving in the bathroom near the sink would be useful for toothbrushes and contact lens cases and solutions, etc.
9,6 Excellent
Pros: Great breakfast with lots of choice including vegetarian. Location was great to either stay in Penzance or use the bus app and the bus stop is just at the end of the road. Easy to get to Lands End and other places of interest. Got lots of information from the owners on where to go.
Cons: Shower balance of the temperature - ran either hot or cold so difficult to adjust to the right temperature. Enjoyed the large bath though and there was plenty of hot water.
9,6 Excellent
Pros: The welcome, ambiance, and location were 1st class. The room was clean and bright, and tidied to a high standard every day.
Cons: It was difficult to regulate the temperature of the over bath shower.

Pros: Lovely guest house with lovely hosts. Room was comfy and nice. Breakfast was delicious.
10,0 Excellent
Pros: We had a pleasant and comfortable stay at Penmorvah, Michele and Nigel were super friendly and helpful. The room was surprisingly big (we expected a much smaller room from our general experience); it was very nice and clean, and that includes the bathroom too. The bed was so comfortable that it was difficult to get up for breakfast, but Nigel's breakfasts were superb and totally worth it :)
10,0 Excellent
Pros: The property owners were really friendly and could not do enough for you. Suggesting places to visit, giving our maps and even their own tourist books. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay. Cadgwith Cove Inn - Helston - Building

9,3 Excellent (173 reviews)
R1 516+
Overview Reviews
When you stay at Cadgwith Cove Inn in Helston, you'll be near the beach and steps from The Lizard. Free self parking is available onsite.
8,8 Excellent
Pros: Great location, almost unique given that Cadgwith is still an active fishing village and that the inn is very much a social hub for the community. Comfortable room, good shower and very peaceful. We very much enjoyed breakfast and with two nights were able to explore both the fish and meat based options.
Cons: Not a problem of us but please be aware that there is limited free parking a short walk uphill from the inn. Further chargeable parking at £2.50 per day is available at the top of the village which is about a five minute walk, if you walk quickly.
9,2 Excellent
Pros: Staff were so friendly. They went out of their way to fit in with our schedule as we had to leave early.
7,9 Good
Pros: Breakfast was fabulous. Shower was powerful and clean. Bathroom modern and clean. Staff were lovely. Bed was comfy. Location was spot-on
Cons: Dinner was a big let down. Disappointingly cheap olives; very poorly cooked rubbery squid starter; and equally poorly cooked mussel main (don't serve sea-food if you can't cook it). In addition, I felt the dishes were over-priced for what was delivered. cleanliness in dining area (dusty surfaces, stained and scruffy paperwork on tables advertising events) Fabreze/shake n vac or other cheap airfreshener scent was over powering in the hallways and bedroom.
7,1 Good
Pros: The folk music on Tuesday night was great, as was the location
Cons: TV on in the breakfast room was a real pain
7,5 Good
Pros: Wild little place.... sleepy cadgwith that is so not true... more life than anywhere amazing little place x

With a stay at Mullion Cove Hotel in Helston, you'll be within a 5-minute walk of The Lizard and Mullion Cove Harbour. Featured amenities include dry cleaning/laundry services, multilingual staff, and luggage storage. Free self parking is available onsite.
8,3 Excellent
Pros: The staff are very hospitable. We were welcomed with smile and warmth. Please look after your staff. They are really caring to customers.
Cons: Could have been better if there's an indoor pool as we weren't able to use the outdoor pool since it was windy and raining heavily.
9,6 Excellent
Pros: The beds were really comfortable. Stunning views. Beautiful food. Spotless.
9,6 Excellent
Pros: Beautiful location, great service and excellent food with a different menu every evening. A very well run hotel that we will certainly visit again.
Cons: Nothing
5,8 Okay
Pros: Location was stunning
Cons: Room was unclean but staff were extremely polite about it and we were compensated.
6,3 Good
Pros: Dramatic location with wonderful sea views - incredible sun sets
Cons: Hotel still a little tired in the bedrooms - really need a major upgrade given the high nightly cost of the hotel. Bar area refurbished but the patio lacked any form of character. Very odd seating benches, no atmosphere or landscaping and very 1970's 2 star hotel feel. New spa very nice but again lacks character and environment feels very cold. Hotel owners need someone to look at design and bring up to a better standard. It really could be an attractive hotel if a good interior and landscape gardener got their hands on it! Investment in staff training would be a good investment too.
9,2 Excellent
Pros: The location and view is fantastic. The food in the restaurant was excellent plus a different menu each night which is always brilliant to offer. All the staff were very welcoming and attentive with a special mention to the “waiter / wine waiter” with surname Br@@ he was particularly helpful. 4* service in a 3* hotel
Cons: Shame the pool and spa was not finished as it looks to be a great investment.
10,0 Excellent
Pros: Fantastic service, location, staff and food. The hotel is clean and better maintained than most. The period decor is in great condition a real credit to the staff and management.
Cons: Set price for meals in the restaurant with only a 3 course option. The smallest of standard rooms, although beautiful and ok for a couple of nights would be too small for a week's stay.
8,8 Excellent
Pros: Location
Cons: Rooms need to be modernised a bit.
8,8 Excellent
Pros: Good, but what a poor selection of cereals!
Cons: 1. The meals were very poor, both in the bar and in the restaurant. Menu pretentious; meals did not live up to the menu.. Fancy serving turnips (cattle food), especially when parsnips were ordered! 2. The room looked very inviting when we arrived. But later we found that the lighting did not even allow us to read the labels on the TV remote control (not that we wished to spend time watching TV) or to read a book. We saw plenty of drawers and shelves. Lovely. But none of them has room for a folded (ie clean) shirt or trousers, and there were 3 (THREE!!) hangers - between two people! Where was the management?

10,0 Excellent
Pros: Excellent breakfast, location and customer service
Cons: The trip wasn;t longer
10,0 Excellent
Pros: Owners were very friendly and helpful. Very good breakfast in attractive setting. Well-kept accommodations. Location was convenient, Easy walk to nearby pub , an enjoyable restaurant with an appealing menuy and near a good-sized Lidl. Safe environment. You can walk to town center along the shore road. Nice alternative is take the more direct, but also scenic and central pedestrian walk which goes right by a lovely park with Museum and restaurant. Penzance was a delightful experience. We would return. Think about taking the QWR train to Penzance from London Center or London Gatwick (change to express in Reading). Then get a local car rental to explore Cornwall and Devon.
Cons: Front steps, but there may be a handicapped access. We did not need it and the exercise was good for us. I did not notice A/C but that is common in the UK. Nonetheless, in summer there may be helpful sea breezes.
10,0 Excellent
Pros: Everything was amazing! Hazel gave us excellent tips on days out and what would be worth our while. Room was so cosy and comfy. Breakfast was also so fresh and delicious. We will definitely return! :)
8,8 Excellent
Pros: Hazel's breakfast pancakes were just lovely and are highly recommended. The bed was very comfortable and our room was spacious enough for 2 large suitcases and hand luggage, without feeling cramped. Large towels in the bathroom gave a feeling of extra luxury. Handy to the inland main roads in or out of Penzance, and walking distance to central restaurants etc.
Cons: Guests should be aware that un-allocated street parking can be a bit of a lottery, and as with most Victorian-era B&Bs, there are steep walk-up and internal staircases which can pose a challenge with 20kg cases. The landing of one flight was partly obstructed by a fridge, which added to the challenge.
9,0 Excellent
Pros: Breakfast was fine.
Cons: Parking was a little dodgy but not disastrous

Cons: Our view was the local graveyard and church, but we were out most of the time so wasn’t a major issue. We stayed during the heatwave, so a fan would of been nice as there was no breeze into the room even with the window open.

Pros: A very beautiful house and estate. Charming host with lots of good stories to share. Very beautiful and super clean room and bathroom. Having breakfast in you own room seemed odd at first but also has its benefits. Highly recommended!
Cons: Estate is on top of steep hill. Walking to downtown Penzance is therefore a hiking trip.

10,0 Excellent
Pros: Higher Faugan Parc was a pleasure to stay at. The bed was super comfy, shower great. It was lovely and clean and the room had a nice homely feel. Our room had a kitchenette in it which had everything we needed. The grounds are lovely also. Breakfast was included and was in our room. There was an extensive choice of juices, cereals, toasts, pastries and fruit - very easy to eat too much! The location, while in the countryside is only a couple of miles away from Penzance and Mousehole. Like a stately home, we had a peaceful stay here. We recommend to other travellers
10,0 Excellent
Pros: Room, setting, friendly host, and breakfast!
Cons: It was all good
8,5 Excellent
Pros: Very comfortable, clean rooms. Excellent breakfast. Large room.
Cons: Driveway to the house is very narrow and about 1/3 mile. The location is outside of Penzance so had to drive further to get to the sights.
7,5 Good
Pros: A very nice room with a fantastic view over the property and far beyond.
Cons: Breakfast was provided in the form of toast, jam and yoghurt etc. in the room and had to be prepared by the guests themselves. The ingredients were high quality but after a few days it becomes monotonous to always eat the same.
9,0 Excellent
Pros: Really nice bedroom, specious and cosy. Side lightning in the bedroom just perfect! Good size bathroom. Big property with the owner leaving on the other side of the house. 7 in-siute bedrooms, very quiet surrounding. Rarely could see any of the other residents.
Cons: Didn't expect to have breakfast in the bedroom. Apparently, it is sitting ready in your bedroom's fridge from the evening prior. Continental breakfast, still good, love fruit vase in the bedroom.
5,8 Okay
Pros: The room is quite clean and tidy, and the self-help breakfast is very nice
Cons: The property location is far away (10 mins walk)from main road and very far away from Penzance train station. So we have to take taxi to anywhere every time.

Pros: Staff were most helpful
6,3 Good
Pros: Staff and location good.
Cons: Very dated in parts of the hotel and need of update. Would rate this hotel 3 star not 4 star as advertised.
5,8 Okay
Pros: Beautiful beer garden
Cons: Small room, noisy, broken tap, 10am Sunday checkout and limited breakfast time (8-930). Very average for the cost of the room.
9,2 Excellent
Pros: Really good value. In a good location and staff were very friendly
Cons: Better curtains
7,5 Good
Pros: The place was nice, however, we were given a room on the second floor, and for two seniors it was a bit of a climb with the luggage. (No elevator)
Cons: Location was great.
7,1 Good
Pros: Nice locale, great breakfast and good shower
7,0 Good
Pros: Superb dinner and breakfast
Cons: Size and location of room
8,3 Excellent
Pros: The bed and the breakfast.
Cons: The size of showerroom/toilet. The odd positioning of shaver mirror.
8,3 Excellent
Pros: The vegetarian breakfast was very good (personally I was not keen on the sausages however my cousin loved them). The room was small but cosy and clean. The bed was comfy. All of the staff were friendly and courteous. I would stop here again if I needed to.
Cons: The bathroom was very small and did smell a bit stale, however I think that was probably due to the age of the building and the internal plumbing (an electric system) that had been fitted to such a small room. The stairs to the third floor were very steep which did not bother my however there would be some people who would find this a problem.
10,0 Excellent
Pros: A warm welcome from staff on reception. Brief tour of facilities(not to detailed) room sorted (I arrived at 17.30). Room very well presented and spotless. Meal in restaurant very well prepared and presented. Excellent Breakfast and delivered very quickly. All members of staff display a friendly 'can do' attitude.
Cons: My stay was for only one night so it is difficult to be judgemental on a short snapshot. However, there was plumbing noises from adjacent rooms which were quite noticeable. The absence of a heated towel rail (I have rather got used to this luxury).

9,6 Excellent
Pros: Fantastic location. Lovely atmosphere. Very comfortable. Good facilities.
Cons: Disappointed with the quality of the t.v. reception in the room for this standard of hotel. Breakfast was cold both mornings. Choice of food in the restaurant was a bit limited.
10,0 Excellent
Pros: Great for families. Lovely sea view. Staff is very nice. good equipement for children. Stylish decoration. good bed. We had 2 rooms that were cleverly close together at the end of a corridor, and separated from the rest so felt safe to have the children in a seprate room. Excellent stay!
Cons: Dinner are hit and miss. Nice fish dish. but Pizza margarita and pasta were tasting strangely sweet... bizarre.
7,1 Good
Pros: Smallish pool was very welcome as were the spa services. The large garden room area was comfortable, if draughty and had great views over the sea and surrounding land. The barman poured a lovely gin and tonic. The starter menu at dinner was very nice, and quite frankly with a choice of 3 items between two of us was a more than sufficient meal for £15 ! The little beach was lovely but accessible only for the fitter.
Cons: I did not like being told that spaces for dining were limited to certain times. and that the best times were already bagged. The dinner menu was strange - and I found it odd to see emphasis on Pizzas in a quality hotel . I liked some of my cheeseburger when I found it under a mountainous roll amid soggy chips. The pizza was OK but also far too huge for anything but a voracious appetite. We were hesitant about other items as reviewed elsewhere.
10,0 Excellent
Pros: Very friendly humorous staff. Wonderful decor beautifully combining modern and traditional. - very interesting and atmospheric.
Cons: Nothing.
9,6 Excellent
Pros: Fantastic location, friendly staff, great place to stay, will definitely be back
Cons: Dinner menu could have a bit better choice

10,0 Excellent
Pros: Fantastic hotel great staff especially the front reception guy really chatty and informative The location is amazing I usually take my holidays abroad but it was just as relaxing too Thank you for a great stay
Cons: Hardly anything
6,3 Good
Pros: The location is outstanding, situated on the Lizard to Kynance Cove coastal footpath with all the associated views and a beautiful garden. The food at breakfast was excellent.
Cons: I didn't feel very welcomed when I arrived. The person who checked me in was quite abrupt and seemed to have a bee in their bonnet. I was a little later than expected when I arrived but I did call ahead to let them know that, and I struggled to find a suitable parking space which took me more time. When you drive a very long way to stay somewhere on your own, it's nice to be greeted with kindness, to be asked how your journey was. I also was not physically shown to my room. I was just given a key and told roughly where my room was. When I went to the bar that evening, the person on reception came in to advise a couple they could be more comfortable in the lounge, while nothing was said to me. Although the food at breakfast was wonderful, the service was not. I had no idea where I was supposed to be seated. I decided on a table the first morning, then the second morning that table had nothing on it. On my last morning, I was told to sit right next to a couple I'd never spoken to before. The bed was uncomfortable, To turn the bedroom light off you have to go to the door. The bathroom light switch is far away from the door. The floor of the bathroom is wonky and I slid on it a few times. The service I received here was on a par with the YMCA, They are much cheaper. I won't be staying here again.
6,7 Good
Pros: Great food and view
Cons: Very thin walls so sleeping dependent on your neighbour
9,2 Excellent
Pros: Great location overlooking bay, comfortable room clean room, friendly helpful staff, good food and drink, great break aim to return.
9,2 Excellent
Pros: The location was very special, perched above the Atlantic with a route down to what amounts to a private beach. The view from the sea-facing rooms is spectacular (when the weather agrees to play ball). The Lizard Lighthouse is in clear view (and in clear ear shot - when the fog siren sounds you can hear it; if you value your own peace and quiet above the navigational safety of others chose somewhere a little further inland). The food and drink offered were great. Breakfast was plentiful with enough choice to keep you interested. The lunch and dinner menu was also good with the flatbreads being a particular highlight. The drink options were also good with the house cocktails very pleasing.
Cons: The bathroom in our room was a little small and the cheese board a little expensive but that was it really.

Cons: I can see how parking could be an issue even though we secured a spot as we arrived fairly early. Rooms are a bit dated but most of the guests we saw were retired so it does suit that kind of customers.
