Comfortable, clean, welcoming. Great food with excellent local ingredients
Up a steep hill
Fair value at £72 per room. Fair priced evening meal. Convenient for Penance town center and 1.7 miles from Newlyn harbour. Staff anxious to please (some try too hard). Tame Turnstones approaching within inches (someone must be feeding them) on Newlyn harbour wall made whole trip worthwhile.
Parking - Apart from being difficult (angled on a slope), be prepared for an unexpected £5.00 per night extra unrequested 'Priority parking' charge vigorously defended by reference to 'small print' and invisible notice boards. So called First come/First served is a myth. Pick the Red dining chairs, many others are 'recliners' Poor Shower controls, manual balancing of cold/Hot water pressures isn't easy. Also, unannounced Fisherman's charity contribution of a £1. A trivial amount to a worthwhile cause, but behind that is the inappropriate assumption that consultation isn't needed which reveals the true culture of the place.
The staff was very friendly, food was very nice, room upgrade without extra charge
There wasn’t a single thing we didn’t like about hotel
Very good breakfast.very clean
Very poor sound insulation could hear next door kept us awake The car parking is a big problem not enough spaces and some bays are pre-booked this was not explained to me.
Great ambiance, attentive staff, great food and a warm welcome I will stay again
