Pros: Excellent location with free parking; room was lovely - really comfy bed/spotless & modern en suite then breakfast was amazing - didnt expect big dining room with linen tablecloths & silver service plus waitress service by staff who were so friendly & happy - absolute bonus.
Cons: Honestly couldnt suggest any changes
Pros: location, staff and very good breakfast
Pros: Nice bed room perhaps a little cool
Pros: Lovely hotel with great character. Friendly staff. Great food. Comfortable room and bed. Super location. Relaxed atmosphere. Ideal for a base for going to Snowdon and surrounds.
Cons: The walls are very thin. I could hear those in a neighbouring room arguing. The WiFi is a little unreliable. Car parking space is not always available.
Pros: Location is lovely and hotel looks impressive from outside so it feels special. Beautiful village. Friendly staff. Breakfast was good though not excellent. Clean room and bathroom. Bar available in the evening. Handy parking.
Cons: Decor and furnishings dated in bedroom. Bed was soft and sagged in the middle. Single glazed old sash window rattled in wind and let in sound of traffic. Lots of noise on one night from some guests until 1am - maybe we were above the bar. I requested a nice room with a view for my daughter’s birthday and something to make her stay special. I phoned and emailed in advance but on arrival they had no awareness of this. I asked again at reception but still it was ignored and she had a room with a small window high up and a wasps nest outside so she didn’t want to open the window. No acknowledgement of her birthday. In contrast nearby Saracens Head pub gave us all free drinks for her birthday meal.
Pros: We liked the comfortable beds, nice hot bath & excellent breakfast. The location is wonderful.
Cons: We have nothing to complain about.
Pros: The breakfast nice
Cons: The room was awful, the first smelt horrendous, the second leaked water onto me in the night, both had ancient battered mattresses. The staff were completely under trained, and the fire alarm protocol non existent, which we found out having been woken at midnight.
Pros: The evening meal was good, the cheesecake was excellent. Service a bit slow.
Cons: Left some clothes in the wardrobe. Rang & was told they had been found. Agreed I would send postage paid envelope for their return. After many phone calls and unanswered email, was then told the clothes were no longer there, even though my envelope arrived the next day. No one gives a damn. Definitely do not recommend this hotel.
Pros: It’s an old hotel so there are things that are outdated like the decor but the room was clean and comfortable and there were many great walks close by as well as the WHR. Breakfast was also good!
Cons: We had a leak in the bathroom and our main bedroom light didn’t work. On our last night we decided to have dinner at the restaurant. They forgot to put our order through so we waited 90 minutes for a bowl of pasta...sadly one of the waiters was really rude and we could hear him being rude to other customers too. Luckily the more junior waiter was great and very apologetic.
Pros: There was a good choice at breakfast.
Cons: The beds were damp! There was no shower, just a bath in the ensuite, the toilet cistern was on a permanent slow fill and the small lift was ancient. The whole place is badly in need of a refurb, especially as you are paying 4 star prices for 2-3 star accommodation.
