Pros: Everything was great! Top location, top hosts, top rooms, top breakfast
10,0 Excellent
Pros: We were made to feel very welcome! Helped in getting us to and from the wedding with their local knowledge. Breakfast was delicious and vegetarian sausages were available! Room was lovely and comfortable, would definitely stay again!
Cons: Maybe some fizzy water as well as still? Potentially the security light was a bit bright, not sure if anything can be done about that though? The ironing board was a tiny bit wobbly but I’m being picky because the box needs me to write more to accept it!

Pros: breakfast was excellent and the host was good man with in-depth knowledge of the area. he gave me tips for traveling to my next destination
Cons: nothing
7,5 Good
Cons: Positives, Nice staff, Great location, Good restaurants nearby. En Suite has a walk in shower, bedroom is comfortable, breakfast included, WiFi available, TV has a good assortment of channels Negatives: En Suite has a folding door which does not restrict those little "bathroom noises".The hot water is pumped and on timer, we wanted a shower a shower late at night but could not get any hot water, in the morning when the pump comes on, whenever there is a demand for hot water the running pump is noisy an woke us up. WiFi is available but is very limited and near to n on existent, certainly cannot stream. One of the nights we stayed was chilly and the heating was not on, my partner whom has health issues was cold and had to wear a fleece in bed. You have to pre oder your breakfast the evening before, in the breakfast room there are no cereals, fruit, drinks etc. We did get the breakfast we requested, although no choice of fruit, yogurt etc. The shower fan was thick with dust and grime, and one of the striplights in the room did not work. The owners are really nice people and very helpful, unfortunately Gretna makes its money through the summer tourism, and I guess the owners have limited resources to invest in the property. My appraisal is not meant to be harsh just saying it how it was
9,2 Excellent
Pros: The owner was such a thorough gentleman. Gave us a warm welcome. We felt safe and sound. Clean and tidy 10/10. Nice rooms. Everything was amazing about it. 9,6 Excellent
Pros: Lovely Hotel, easy access from the Gretna road and the M6. Beautiful building, well maintained, lovely garden area, immaculately clean, good food in the bar area. Friendly staff. Upgraded to a lovely big room, super comfy bed, luxury toiletries, nice bath with separate shower (which was really powerful- excellent to wake up to). Great to see a teapot with the drinks amenities.Excellent breakfast cooked to order in a beautifully appointed room. Thoroughly enjoyed my stay and lovely to speak to the staff who were very knowledgeable about the history of the building. Highly recommended.
Cons: Nothing to dislike.
10,0 Excellent
Pros: The hotel was beautiful, real olde worlde. Rooms are really lovely, decorated tastefully and very spacious. We had an upgrade to a Deluxe room which was fab. Everywhere was spotlessly clean, lovely bathroom with separate shower and bath with nice complimentary toiletries. The staff were very friendly and nothing was too much trouble. We had an evening meal in the bar area. There was a good selection of food choices and the meal came quickly and was very nice. Average price for bar food I'd say, not overpriced. We are staying at this hotel next year for our wedding and we couldn't have chosen a more perfect hotel!
Cons: No negatives at all.

Cons: Breakfast items were a bit stale. Good coffee.

Pros: nothingo
Cons: No tv Next door banging head against wall from 2am
7,9 Good
Pros: The hotel is modern, clean and comfortable. The fabrics and furnishings in the rooms are excellent. The bathroom/shower were very good.
Cons: The decor in the bar and restaurant, given it is a place of celebration, is very dark, subdued and sombre. This seems reflected in the mood and approach of most of the staff. The highlight on the staff front was the pleasant lady at reception and checkout. Few smiles elsewhere apart from one waitress apologising pleasantly for the overlong wait for food (47 minutes from order) wine (36 minutes from order) and the fact that one steak, medium rare was cooked to perfection the other, rare, was incredibly well done. Nothing wrong with quality, everything wrong with cooking. Thankfully we were not charged for the steak, but get this detail sorted.

Pros: Friendliness of staff. Very relaxed atmosphere. Good food and wine at very reasonable prices.

8,3 Excellent
Pros: Welcoming staff. Food lovely both evening meal and breakfast. Beautiful decor in public areas. Easy acess to the motorway for our on going journey.
Cons: I asked for a walk in shower room which I got, unfortunately it was a wheelchair access room lower sinks toilet etc, not a problem though. However the shower grate was quite open, not great, could have been covered in a better way, the flooring once soapy and wet was quite slippery especially for people with walking difficulties. There was also a strong smell of some sort of cleaning fluid, almost fuel smelling permeating the room. I noticed what looked like a previous visitor being sick as there were marks on the radiator and in the bathroom. The bed although comfortable was barely a double and pillows quite firm. Woodwork in the room scuffed and tired. Shame we missed out on the whole breakfast as there was a coach party in, most food not replenished very quickly.

Pros: Location suited what we were there for, place for the wedding service and close to the In for the small receptin post the ceremony. Within walking distance.Close to places to eat and across the road from the retail Outlet centre.
Cons: Common areas do look a bit tired, i.e. carpet coming up on stairs could be a trip hazard. Some of the reception personnel appeared nto particularly interested in us as a payiong customer, others were great.

4,6 Okay
Pros: The evening meal was good, with friendly and efficient servers. The hotel was quiet as we expected for a Monday night and we looked forward to a good nights' sleep but unfortunately didn't!
Cons: A hen party above our room 31 started a party at 11.30pmwith loud music, singing and shouting. We tried to phone reception but the phone didn't work so at midnight my wife got dressed and went to complain bout the noise to reception. There was nobody around and eventually she found a young wiatress who said she would have a word. The noise stopped for a few minutes and then began again with even louder music and shouting! It eventually stopped around 12 45 and then at 06.30 started again! We complained again at reception when we left but just got a sorry. The breakfast was the worst we have had. They ran out of eggs, bacon, and sausage and despite asking the waitress to re-stock them nothing happened. Disgusted we just left.

Cons: Nothing everything was high quality
8,5 Excellent
Pros: Friendly staff
9,2 Excellent
Pros: We overnighted en route from Midlands to Aberdeen. We decided to sample this hotel prior to staying again next April with our pensioner group. We found staff friendly and efficient. Food was of a high standard. The public areas have been refurbished, we hope the bedrooms will be upgraded before our next stay. The lift was a little creepy before the doors opened but overall we enjoyed our visit.
4,6 Okay
Cons: Very disappointed in the hotel. The website did say that renovations were in process but that this would not affect the rooms booked. In fact the rooms were very poor - ceiling panels missing in the corridor, dilapidated doors, very worn carpet, a hole in the bathroom door, uncomfortable bed, dodgy lighting, and hairs in the shower tray when we arrived. It will be a great hotel once it has been renovated but in the meantime definitely does not represent value for money. We were travelling with American friends and were embarrassed to have taken them there.
