Pros: Very interesting and magical place. If you like peace and quiet, this is it. I spent three days in there and I loved it. It is very close to Evora, which is the must see town. It is the place to stay for that special experience (nerve sanatorium).

Cons: Strimmer and leaf blower made an incredible noise all round the house. If went on all afternoon and didn’t end until 6.30pm. Not great when we wanted rest after long journey. Then we tried for an early nights sleep but a house party was underway with about 15 people celebrating the night before a wedding! So not much sleep. We’d chosen this hotel because we wanted rest, but we’re disappointed.

The quinta is situated 6.5 km from Évora Airport. The Évora Train Station is a 12-minute drive away.

Pros: Because there was a mix up with our room and it was given to another couple the hostess gave us the one bedroom apartment which was big and very nice. We had everything we needed. Property was very lovely and everything was was super clean. It was more than we had expected. It was very easy to get into the center. Only 5 minutes away by car.
Cons: The only downside was that it rained and we weren't able to have breakfast outside on the terrace . Breakfast was okay. It was simple. Not that many things to choose from. Also the mattress was a bit hard for me.

Pros: It is a really beautiful place, it has a nice pool, good breakfast, fresh fruits and a sweat hostes. We also loved the three big dogs that seem to have one goal in life: being petted by random strangers.
Cons: The location is close to the city but the last part is a dirt road with a few steap holes in it. Also, it was hard to get the room completely lighted so you could read in the evening (a lot of loose standing bedlights).

Pros: The Espada is a must stay-in near Evora. The site is wonderful and well maintained. The hosts are lovely and made everything for us to enjoy your stay. The pool is nice and clean, the bedrooms are nice as well. The breakfast is simple but with natural and good products, and the quantity is enough for any eaters! We highly recommend it if you wanna have a calm and peaceful retreat near Evora. You’ll need the car to get to the city!

Pros: This property is stunning. The decor is so beautifully fitting for the area, elegant but not stuffy. The property is magnificent, immaculate and using every natural part of the area. Truly a Portuguese hacienda. The kids loved the pool, the grounds and especially the dogs! Breakfast was delicious but the setting made the stay!

The Pousada Convento de Évora, also known as the Pousada dos Loios, is located in the museum-city of Évora, a World Heritage site. The Pousada is located between the Catedral Gótica de Évora and the Templo de Diana and very close to the Praça do Giraldo and the Colégio do Espírito Santo.
The building retains traces of its original architecture, such as courtyard cloisters, a peaceful and serene area where you will find the outdoor swimming pool and an area for you to relax.
The Pousada features the Loios restaurant, a bar and a free car park with limited capacity. Almost all of the rooms are individually unique and include Wi-Fi.

Pros: Located right beside the Roman ruins with easy walking everywhere in this lovely town. Staff were very helpful and pleasant with everything: parking the car, at checkin and with meals. Beds were comfortable and the room was quiet. The lounge beside the fire on a windy chilly day with sweet wine and roasted chestnuts- a lovely seasonal treat.
Cons: The room was dark but probably as it would have been for the nuns!

Pros: This place is in amazing location, right in the middle of the old city. Frank, the owner of this 450+ year old home was wonderful, very accommodating and extremely pleasant. But I need to mention this is not a hotel, but rather pretty much an Airbnb-like property in this very pretty private residence. Everything is antique, so if you like this kind of setup, you’ll be very happy. However, if you expect a nicely furnished hotel, this is not your place. There’s no TV in the unit, no soap, no shampoo, just a conditioner/shampoo bottle in the bathroom. The breakfast is pretty much pre packaged food , with a a few slices of ham and cheese. None of the glorious European breakfast you might be looking for. And to finish, I want to restate that Frank is a really nice host, trying to please you in any possible way. But for us, it was way to “personal” and too much contact with the host.
Cons: I’ve said all above. Not really a hotel but more of Airbnb with a host. Definitely not our style, but as I said above, Frank the owner is a really nice guy.

Cons: If bathroom’s footmat would change each day, that will be good. From parking to rooms there is sandy passway, if it could turn to be paved, it would be convenient for guests who have large suitcases.

Pros: Location is great, about 10 mins outside Évora.. Beautifully furnished.
Cons: Strimmer and leaf blower made an incredible noise all round the house. If went on all afternoon and didn’t end until 6.30pm. Not great when we wanted rest after long journey. Then we tried for an early nights sleep but a house party was underway with about 15 people celebrating the night before a wedding! So not much sleep. We’d chosen this hotel because we wanted rest, but we’re disappointed.

Set in a landscaped garden with olive trees and a pool, this quinta offers rustic-style accommodation just 4 km from Évora. Guests can benefit from free Wi-Fi and free parking. Pros: Because there was a mix up with our room and it was given to another couple the hostess gave us the one bedroom apartment which was big and very nice. We had everything we needed. Property was very lovely and everything was was super clean. It was more than we had expected. It was very easy to get into the center. Only 5 minutes away by car.
Cons: The only downside was that it rained and we weren't able to have breakfast outside on the terrace . Breakfast was okay. It was simple. Not that many things to choose from. Also the mattress was a bit hard for me.

Pros: It is a really beautiful place, it has a nice pool, good breakfast, fresh fruits and a sweat hostes. We also loved the three big dogs that seem to have one goal in life: being petted by random strangers.
Cons: The location is close to the city but the last part is a dirt road with a few steap holes in it. Also, it was hard to get the room completely lighted so you could read in the evening (a lot of loose standing bedlights).

Pros: The Espada is a must stay-in near Evora. The site is wonderful and well maintained. The hosts are lovely and made everything for us to enjoy your stay. The pool is nice and clean, the bedrooms are nice as well. The breakfast is simple but with natural and good products, and the quantity is enough for any eaters! We highly recommend it if you wanna have a calm and peaceful retreat near Evora. You’ll need the car to get to the city!

Pros: This property is stunning. The decor is so beautifully fitting for the area, elegant but not stuffy. The property is magnificent, immaculate and using every natural part of the area. Truly a Portuguese hacienda. The kids loved the pool, the grounds and especially the dogs! Breakfast was delicious but the setting made the stay!

Pros: Within the old center of Evora you will find this old former palace with parts of the Roman wall in your room. We received a warm welcome from Paolo who showed us more or less all parts of the hotel and have us great tips to move around the area. Loads of history in and around Evora as well as some of the best wineries of Portugal (ie Cartuxa) . We had a great time
Cons: The coffee during breakfast is not of the highest level but you can ask for coffee made by a qualified machine and this way enjoy your espresso or whatever you like

Pros: The hotel is OK, the staff did not go out of its way to be pleasant. Good location and breakfast. No choice of egg (some people really like their eggs a certain way and this is offered in many hotels but not this one)
Cons: The hotel has many, many steps which makes it difficult to get to your room with suitcases (or even without)

Pros: Very charming facility. Great staff. Excellent in-house restaurant for dinner and breakfast. Spacious room, and bathroom. Very near the top of the hill, and the center of the old town.
Cons: Impossible location to drive to. Yes, it is just a short walk from the church and Roman ruins, but the medieval streets are a maze. There are six parking spots for hotel guests that are tiny, and hard to get to. The property is very quaint, and historic, but very vertical, with no elevator. 30 steps up from the parking to the main level, then 30 more to our room, which was not on the highest level.

Pros: A very lovely hotel perched right at the centre of the old town perfect for exploring Évora. Very comfortable and huge bed and lovely bathroom. We were travelling with our dog who was made very welcome and we were able to enjoy happy hour just outside the bar with the dog! Beautiful breakfast with many choices of local produce.

Pros: Great breakfast room with a view overlooking Evora and countryside. The breakfast had lots of excellent tasty choices.
Cons: We could not adjust the heat and cooling of our room even after calling in a hotel worker. We were unable to really adjust the temperature of the water in the shower, it moved from really hot to blasts of cold water.

Pros: The location was excellent. Close to all amenities and tourist attractions. The space was large enough for our family to sleep and my kids to play during downtime. The breakfast (extra) was excellent and convenient as well as the anytime coffee, tea and port wine. The staff were lovely, accommodating and helpful. This place really looked after the little things which was greatly appreciated.
Cons: No parking at the hotel but we were directed to free parking nearby.

Pros: The breakfast was quite good, especially on the morning we left. We had an early bus to catch and the clerk came in early to prepare breakfast for us. In general, the staff went overboard to make our stay comfortable and pleasant. The night clerk gave us very good information on restaurants in the area and his suggestions were spot on! The location could not have been better, and the little street behind the Evora Inn filled with restaurants and cafés was just about perfect. A great place in an amazing city.

Pros: Our host was delightfully friendly and helpful. The location was perfect. The view from our 4th floor balcony looked out across red tile roofs to the tower of the cathedral. Below the balcony were several outdoor restaurants and a bar.
Cons: The bar was responsible for our only complaint. Raucous conversation until 3am kept us awake until with regret we had to close the window.

Pros: The inn was perfectly located, a few meters from the central square. My room was comfortable, though small, and a good value. Isidro, who welcomed me when I arrived, was very nice. The inn's common area was a pleasant place to read, and the complimentary port was a welcome touch.
Cons: My room would have been better with more lighting, more wall outlets and a safe.

Pros: It was close to the city centre and the cost was reasonable.
Cons: We were weakened at one o’clock in the morning by the receptionist phoning to say someone complained about noise. Why someone didn’t come to the room first to investigate I don’t know. We were fast asleep and obviously not making any noise.
