Evora hotels near Igreja de Sao Francisco

Pros: I was travelling with my husband and son. We had a room with a great view of the aqueduct. The property was very clean and the staff friendly. It was quiet at night. An extensive buffet breakfast was offered every morning and included with our booking and we stayed 4 nights. We were a little disappointed that the indoor pool was not open during our stay and we could not partake. The location of the hotel was ideal inside the town center, walking distance everywhere but at the city limit so perfect for getting outside the city walls. Very happy with the underground parking at the hotel which is a must if you have a rental car and are staying within the city walls.

Cons: Limited opening hours of the steam bath, sauna and pool. It would be nice to extend the opening hours at least until 10pm.

Pros: The location and the spa

Cons: The indoor swimming pool was in renovation so we could not use it; and no alternative was offered. The bathrooms need some renovation, no bathrobes in the room, no mini bar option, you can hear the guests of the room next door. The restaurant walls also need renovation. It’s a pity because it has everything to be a 5 star hotel but the service and accommodations are not there yet.

Pros: Central location within the city walls. Nice view from the room (aqueduto). The rooms are pleasantly high (historical building). Very good mattress. Breakfast: very good scrambled eggs.

Cons: Unfortunately the indoor pool was under construction (but the room rate was lowered). The breakfast/dining room is dark - ok for dinner, but not nice for breakfast. Also the room is very narrow, guests repeatedly touched on the chairs when passing, especially at breakfast time.

Pros: It is very nice and posh, the breakfast is fantastic.

Cons: I was expecting more. We had to wait a long time for the room (we were told one hour, arrived two hours later and still is was not there), they are a bit stingy with the coffee capsules / tea in the room, and though it is not dirty, it is also not spotless.

Cons: Room advertised as being soundproof which is always the decisive factor for us whenever we choose a hotel when we travel. Unfortunately our room was anything BUT soundproof. We could hear the cars outside (bad quality windows), we could hear the other guests on the corridor and i don’t know who is responsible for the “brilliant" design of placing the restaurant/bar above the bedrooms, but we could hear the chairs being dragged above our heads. They also decided to do some renovation/repairs at 10:00 on a Friday, without any concern to their guests. I would suggest to do this after check-out times in order avoid disturbing the guests. If you are looking for a place to have a quite rest then this is NOT the place to stay. Sink with the most absurd shape, despite having plenty of space on the bathroom for a bigger/normal one Illogical use of mirrors on the corridors which give access to the bedrooms. These are disorienting and give the place a cheap look.

Pros: The location was excellent. Close to all amenities and tourist attractions. The space was large enough for our family to sleep and my kids to play during downtime. The breakfast (extra) was excellent and convenient as well as the anytime coffee, tea and port wine. The staff were lovely, accommodating and helpful. This place really looked after the little things which was greatly appreciated.

Cons: No parking at the hotel but we were directed to free parking nearby.

Pros: The breakfast was quite good, especially on the morning we left. We had an early bus to catch and the clerk came in early to prepare breakfast for us. In general, the staff went overboard to make our stay comfortable and pleasant. The night clerk gave us very good information on restaurants in the area and his suggestions were spot on! The location could not have been better, and the little street behind the Evora Inn filled with restaurants and cafés was just about perfect. A great place in an amazing city.

Pros: We had the room on the top floor with fantastic views over Evora and beyond. The room also had a private terrace with an outdoor bath!

Cons: Everything was excellent for us but some people may find the stairs a problem.

Pros: The inn was perfectly located, a few meters from the central square. My room was comfortable, though small, and a good value. Isidro, who welcomed me when I arrived, was very nice. The inn's common area was a pleasant place to read, and the complimentary port was a welcome touch.

Cons: My room would have been better with more lighting, more wall outlets and a safe.

Pros: We booked this hotel on a whim after deciding to leave Faro a day early. It was perfect. Easy to find, the front desk attendant was really helpful, the room was simple and clean. All in all a great value for the money.

Pros: This hotel is the perfect choice in Evora. Great location near the main square, super clean and modern. As a boutique hotel, rooms are small, but quite fine. The beds are ridiculously comfortable. Ample garage parking for 5 euros per day.

Cons: The bathroom was a little small for my 6 ft husband but this is typical for Europe.

Pros: This place is in amazing location, right in the middle of the old city. Frank, the owner of this 450+ year old home was wonderful, very accommodating and extremely pleasant. But I need to mention this is not a hotel, but rather pretty much an Airbnb-like property in this very pretty private residence. Everything is antique, so if you like this kind of setup, you’ll be very happy. However, if you expect a nicely furnished hotel, this is not your place. There’s no TV in the unit, no soap, no shampoo, just a conditioner/shampoo bottle in the bathroom. The breakfast is pretty much pre packaged food , with a a few slices of ham and cheese. None of the glorious European breakfast you might be looking for. And to finish, I want to restate that Frank is a really nice host, trying to please you in any possible way. But for us, it was way to “personal” and too much contact with the host.

Cons: I’ve said all above. Not really a hotel but more of Airbnb with a host. Definitely not our style, but as I said above, Frank the owner is a really nice guy.

Pros: Great old classic property. So special to stay in something with some history. And our host was a kind, dignified gentleman.

Cons: Could have been a bit cleaner. Would have liked a better breakfast.

Pros: This was a very special place. A family home with a history of 200 years, so you forgive it this and that. The host was very, very nice, coming to pick us up when we could not find just the right door and recommending paces to go and restaurants.

Cons: It is an old house, so it has old hous things, but as it was a special place, this does not matter at all :)
