8,0 Excellent
Pros: We were attending a funeral so the location was perfect, we ate breakfast and dinner in the hotel every night, the food was excellent and with the exception of one member of staff everyone went above and beyond to help us
Cons: There appeared to be a serious lack of staff, and very often we had to look for a waiter or bar person, On the day of the funeral the hotel provided a buffet but unfortunately there was no one to greet the family, and there only appeared to be one member of staff in the function room and no one to serve in the bar. My husband had to ask several times for extra chairs for the guests and eventually someone did bring them but just left them stacked in a corner with no offer to help. There appeared to be no management on duty and no one to take charge of the situation

Pros: A good place to stay just outside Dunfermline. Bus stop to Glasgow or Dunfermline / Kirckaldy / Dundee right outside. It has a bed and a toilet. Cannot ask for much more from this hotel.
Cons: Two things: 1. The heater either is boiling either is cold. Even when you select something in between, you only feel like you are in the Sahara's Summer or in the middle of a Siberian Winter. 2. The shower only had hot water on the first day. The pressure was quite low.

Overview Reviews
With a stay at The City Hotel in Dunfermline, you'll be within a 15-minute drive of Deep Sea World and Pittencrieff Park. Free self parking is available onsite.
8,0 Excellent
Pros: I travel a lot for work and use a lot of hotels. The city hotel is a traditional building right in the centre of Dunfermline. The rooms are large with many original features. The highlight of the stay for me was the excellent restaurant - I'm vegetarian and typically the menus I encounter could best be described as lackluster - not so with the City Hotel! The mixed salad was excellent and a great example of what can be done with imagination, creativity and skill. Porridge in the morning was also the best I've had.
Cons: Room was a little dated - but this was a minor concern when set against the great value, central location and excellent restaurant.
10,0 Excellent
Pros: The staff are well trained and very helpful in all aspects of of their jobs. The style of the restaurant and bars were very well thought out. I know that I would certainly come back.
Cons: The climb up to the room, but by the time I left after four days , I didn't notice the strain . Also I would like suggest that you should have change of toilet roll as it was very painful.
9,0 Excellent
Pros: Lovely clean moderm hotel with lovely comfy beds! Staff kind and friendly and the added cocktail bar and karaoke on a Sat night was fab too! Central to all amenities! Full Scottish breakfast was hot fresh and delicious! Deffo stay again for sure! Well done City Hotel 5*

10,0 Excellent
Pros: Location.
Cons: Parking. First come first serve.
9,0 Excellent
Pros: Food was brilliant staff were brilliant
Cons: Lack of private parking coming from out with scotland
4,0 Okay
Cons: Sani flow Noisy Toilet System.. not mentioned when booking!!!! and Karaoke on Friday and Saturday nights, not mentioned when booking overall Noisy Hotel and very intimidating when entering the hotel on return from a show! More like a nightclub.. Booked and executive room would not like to see a standard!

Pros: Close to main road and short drive from the motorway so easy to get to. SAT NAV finds the location easily. Quiet location so no traffic noise.

7,5 Good
Pros: Friendly staff throughout the building. Very clean room and the bathroom suite looked brand new. Excellent choice and service at breakfast time with delicious hot food served quickly.
Cons: It took ages for the hot water to come through first thing in the morning, but maybe I was the first one up. The taped 70's disco music was rather an odd choice to play at breakfast time in the restaurant.
