9,3 Excellent
Pros: The room was clean, the air conditioner ran smoothly, the wellness area is convincing and well designed. The Japanese garden is beautiful as well. We really liked staying there.
Cons: When checking-in, it would be nice to be provided with necessary Information upfront, without having to ask. When and where is breakfast taking place, what are the opening hours of the wellness area, that you have to and how to book/reserve massages/saunas. Of course, this is not a big deal, but I'd like to have these information as a guest. The hotel has a very nice wellness area - they should try to sell those services excluded from the room fee.
9,3 Excellent
Pros: Great atmosphere, beautiful garden and terrace, restaurant and food were delicious and a good variety.
10,0 Excellent
Pros: Staff were great, food great and they accommodated our every request, like for example adjoining rooms. Even had joint balcony. Great pool!
Cons: There was a thunderstorm for an hour. Had to have sekt inside, but was soon fixed.
5,8 Okay
Pros: The room was immaculately clean, there was an excellent breakfast selection. Garden is very small but has some pretty features.
Cons: The hotel is shoehorned into a residential street, the plot has been built on to the max. so we had to wind our way along several corridors to get to breakfast, the photos make the gardens look extensive but they are not. Maybe because it was an August weekend but we paid a lot of money for a very standard hotel room that reminded more of a dated motel.
8,8 Excellent
Pros: This is within easy walking distance of the town centre. Very comfortable with many facilities. The airconditioning was highly effective, especially with very high temperatures outside. Breakfast provided a huge choice.
7,5 Good
Pros: Good location, good breakfast, free parking. The restaurant was nice and quaint.
Cons: To a North American it is a bit like a motel, was expecting more of hotel feel.
10,0 Excellent
Pros: A unique place. Very enjoyable. Has a lot of interesting nooks & crannies to explore: indoor pool, spa, gardens, etc. Nice breakfast!
8,8 Excellent
Pros: A very good medium sized Japanese inspired holiday hotel. In the hotel there is a Japanese garden, a tea house, relax area with pool, sauna and spa treatments, buffet restaurant and wine bar (unfortunately closed on Sundays). The hotel is stylishly decorated with paintings and amethyst cathedrals and rock crystals. A very relaxing place. Great breakfast.
Cons: The pillows were to large to suite my taste.
10,0 Excellent
Pros: Great place to stay with toddler. The staff were excellent. Nice hotel!
8,8 Excellent
Pros: One of the best breakfast we have had! Very quiet room.

8,7 Excellent (554 reviews)
Overview Reviews

9,3 Excellent
Pros: Smiling and helpful owner and staff. Room was just big enough to be comfortable. The hotel and the room were spotless. Easy parking, Fast wifi. Breakfast is served at the table, it was very good. The main hub of the hotel is the restaurant. It was packed when we arrived, everybody seemed to be in a good mood.
Cons: The fact that you have to reconnect to the wifi every 30 minutes. But it is done fast and effortlessly.

7,0 Good
Pros: A good stay, with secure parking for the motorcycle
Cons: The restaurant was shut the evening I visited (Monday). The nearest place was a ten minute walk away
8,0 Excellent
Pros: Incredible cleanliness. The room probably last renovated within the last 2 years. Very quiet location. Free parkplace available. Big flatscreen (40") with standard - for Germany - channels list. Very friendly personnel. They gave us for the night 2 red wine glasses to use in the room when we asked for. Fair value for money.
Cons: I booked over booking a double bed room - I even selected this option in the filter. We got a twin bed room with the beds sticked together. The owner said this is a double bet - but it's not! Even the pictogramm in booking showed a double bed - with a common frame across. The reception - in fact there is no reception at all - is available after 14:30 till 00:00. On booking it's stated 24h/day. The breakfast is not a buffet. Only 1 ham and 1 salami to choose. But you still get upon request more if you need - eggs provided also on request only. There where no vegetables on the table, we also didn't asked for. There was no safe - at least not in the room - but we also didn't need it at all. It simply does not match the booking description.
8,3 Excellent
Pros: Staff was very friendly and helpful. Breakfast not served in buffet style, but customized on a personal plate.
Cons: Parking very busy, seems restaurant guest were blocking most of them in the evening.

9,5 Excellent
Pros: Great staff. Room was upgraded to a wonderful suite. Geat view of town up on a hill.delicios breakfast
Cons: Inside of room and buildings were very clean but outside grounds could have been a little better.
6,8 Good
Pros: Location in a vineyard and close to Bad Durkheim was very nice. Dining area very nice and rooms comfortable. Breakfast was very good and so was our server.
Cons: Customer service from front desk staff was nonexistent when checking in and checking out. Apparently, a Christmas Party had booked the dining area which didn’t allow for any food service in the hotel. When asking about making reservation, just simple told about the party. No suggestions as to where to go for dinner or ideas were offered. We booked this property for the dining feature as we had had dinner here in the past. The night was also horrible because they placed us in Room 41 which opens to the courtyard that blared a DJ and his music until 1:00 am. Tried calling front desk but conveniently received a fax sound on the line each time I called front desk to ask to have music turned down or another room. Very disappointed when checking out-Hotel Manger didn’t even ask how our stay was. Guessing others had complained of the noise and he didn’t want any input. Too expensive to receive such poor customer service from front desk staff.

Pros: View was amazing! Location was excellent in the vicinity of the park and graduation tower - it's peaceful and quiet enough to leave the windows open at night as it was very hot / humid during my stay and there wasn't a fan or AC. Centre of town is within 5 mins walk
7,0 Good
Pros: Breakfast was very nice
Cons: Missed the airco in the room at temeratures of 30 degr. outside. Room was quite warm
9,3 Excellent
Pros: Breakfast was superb! Morning dining service excellent. My light meal was good. According to expectations. Proximity to Salienenwand. Innovative dining area renovations. Decor, old and new well blended. I liked my first floor room looking out onto the Salienenwand.
Cons: It has been 7+ years since I have been at Fronmuehle for dinner, and the first time I stayed in the hotel. I waited at the entrance of the restaurant while 2 staff ran to and fro, not paying attention to me at all! Finally, I approached them asking to be seated. The waitress responded abruptly that I could sit anywhere I wanted to, and was about to continue with her other duties when she noticed I was waiting for her. The dining area had various tables full of people including a large group. She reluctantly led me to a good table. She was unfriendly. Not welcoming. Coming from Canada, and overnighting in your hotel, I did find the evening dining a rather negative experience!

Pros: We love the K Bar and having a meal in the pub adjacent to and part of the hotel. great atmosphere and pleasant service.
Cons: The breakfast is excellent but their coffee is the worst I have ever had. We stayed in the hotel twice within a week and the coffee remained consistently aweful. Something that should be fixable easily.

10,0 Excellent
Pros: The seize and the equipement of the room, the view, the surroundings, the free parking facilities.

Pros: The gentlemen that checked us in (I forget his name) was extremely friendly and helpful. We were only there one night for our friends' birthday, but he certainly set the tone for a fun night. He was also very accommodating and helped us get all of our rooms on the same floor. The bar/restaurant on the top floor was a nice place for a nightcap. The rooms are clean and quite large - even the singles!
Cons: So, the only negative were the blinds. When the sun comes up early, there is no blocking the sun. And the blinds are an orange color, so it just made the room that much brighter. I would stay here again, but bring an eye mask!

Pros: The Tables restaurant next door but a part of the hotel, really served some great spare ribs!

Pros: Clean, quiet, view over swimming pool from the balcony was ok. Stuff very friendly and helpful. Nice cafe/bar with good choice of wines and fresh cakes. Nice park, cafe, restaurants in the city and wine yards surroundings. Swimming pool and saunas nice to visit.
Cons: Breakfast a bit expensive for Germany. Room interior is a bit outdated for 4* hotel. SPA is separate building but with direct access through the corridors and you should pay in addition. Was a bit disappointed with SPA payments accepted only cash.
7,5 Good
Pros: Lovely staff, good dining facilities, good breakfast. Great location, easy parking
Cons: The hotel rooms and corridors are a little tired in places and the rooms would benefit from an update - the furnishings are quite old. The bathroom was very clean and fresh. On one day the hot water was only lukewarm.
10,0 Excellent
Pros: Excellent location close, within walking distance, to all the tourist spots. Staff was very friendly and helpful.
Cons: The weather was gloomy and cold, not very good for sight seeing. But the hotel could not help that, they provided umbrellas when required.
5,8 Okay
Pros: A carnival night was there. We had very little sleep as some people attending woke us at 3 in the morning, partying then sleeping on the floor in the corridor outside our room. There should have been cctv or security in the hotel.

8,8 Excellent
Pros: Centrally located, close to everything in Bad Durkheim. Friendly and professional staff. The hotel provides to guests free vouchers to the huge swimming pools and spa (both outdoor and indoor), ask for vouchers if you want a regenerating break, you won't regret, highly recommended! These facilities are public but there is a direct private entrance from the hotel, only for the guests - just bring towel/flip flops and bathing suit. At the pools there is also a garden where you can lie in the sun /make a picnic.
Cons: In mid August on a very hot day, it was quite hot when we wntered in the room for the first time, because there is no air conditioned. Fortunately, a ventilator was provided, already there. Also, opening the windows we enjoied a pleasent breeze and the situation became much better. We could sleep very well with open windows and outside it was silent.

Pros: Helpful staff, good location. Good food in the restaurant.

Pros: Nice restaurant but staff was too busy. Location and room were ok for the price
Cons: we were invoiced 104€ too much, 144€ was right amout but he charged my wifes card 248€. Money was refunded but only as bank transfer. When we left the hotel we had no idea wether his going to refund the money, ok he did, but I would have taken money rather in cash. He also promised to return the hotel key wich was accidentaly taken from a previous hotel with us. It´s been over a week now and they still haven got the key.

Pros: Nice rustic hotel in a small little town. Helpful staff although they don't speak much English and we didn't speak any German, but we managed somehow :) Fairly spacious rooms, clean and quiet. Breakfast was great with a large selection of bread, cheese, cold meats, fruit, cereal, etc.

Pros: Bathroom was newly renovated.
Cons: Pool was dirty. It was very disturbing to see a brown ring around the sides of the pool and even some green stuff between the tiles in the pool. Pool area was clean though. Beds very spaced very far apart for a couple?? We would have had to move them. Church bells ringing early in the morning with the sound coming very clearly through. Beds were not comfortable. But the dirty pool was gross and that was the main reason to stay there!

Pros: Nice location, good breakfast facilities, comfortable room
Cons: No gluten free bread as requested when booking ("no local bakery has it available"). Furthermore, very limited wifi link available (restaurant only, and not in our room). Seems to have become a typical German phenomenon in comparison with other European (as well as Asian and African) nations. Room foor structural improvements Nationwide.

Pros: Could be nice. If someone tried to be nice.
Cons: The woman in charge wasn't charming, the least to be said! The woman in the wineshop was, if possible, less charming. They don't accept Mastercard or any other international card. The restaurant wasn't open on day 2. In fact we found only one open, a Greek, that wasn't good at all. Terrible food. The coffee at the breakfast was close to disaster! Why can't you get real coffee?
8,3 Excellent
Pros: Really super clean. It was on our route. The beds were comfortable and we slept well. Eva communicated with us very well. Breakfast great and plentiful.
Cons: The restaurant was unfortunately closed the day we were there. But we were advised where to go and ate really well. The car park was over the road from the property.

Pros: Exceptionally friendly and helpful people running this place!
8,8 Excellent
Pros: The room & house were clean and pretty. Staff was friendly and the house offers free wine tasting for guests (until 5pm).
Cons: Only complaint was that there was no coffee in the room, and going out on the town without a car (we were on a 7-day hiking advevture) is a long walk.

Pros: We booked this hotel six months in advance to ensure that we got the room we wanted, but when we arrived, it was a different story. First of all, there is no staff present during the day, so this eliminates any way of checking in early. After we checked-in and got to our room the first thing we noticed about the room, it was not the room we booked. We booked the Classic Quadruple Room with two queen beds, and the room we received was the Triple Room with two twin beds with a sofa bed. When we addressed this with the receptionist, she said there was nothing they could do, so we asked if we could swap out the sofa bed with a regular bed and again we were told there was nothing they could do this was all they had. She was going to allow us to cancel our reservation without paying any fees, but there were no other hotels due to a festival going on in the area. We also have driven more than 5 hours to get there and have already paid for all of the events we had planned for that weekend, so we were stuck. We booked this hotel with Booking.com, so we decided to get them involved, after some back and forth with Booking.com and the receptionist over the phone we were not getting anywhere. The receptionist was telling us there was nothing they could do besides maybe cram another sofa bed in our already small room and telling Booking.com that I was refusing a room with four single beds which was not the case.
Cons: After our stay when we went to pay for our room thinking that since we stayed in a Triple Room, that’s what we were going to pay for, but nope. Because we booked the Classic Quadruple Room and refused the possibility of cramming another sofa bed in the already small room, we had to pay the full price. At this point we were so done with this hotel we just wanted to leave, so we decide to pay the total amount and file a complaint with Booking.com later. After filing a complaint with Booking.com, we were told they were not going to do anything since the receptionist gave them false information about us refusing a room with four single beds and to call the hotel ourselves and ask for a refund. We then called the hotel and asked for a refund of the difference between the two rooms and were told that was not going to happen. Because we refused her offer of free cancellation or trying to cram another sofa bed in our room, she kept repeating this over and over, so I hung up the phone thinking it was over. Then we started receiving WhatsApp messages from her telling me that she was going to call Booking.com and have an additional cleaning charged due to used condoms laying all over the floor, which was another lie because there was no sexually actives going on in our room. So that makes us think "How thoroughly do they clean their rooms if they're still finding things from other people or if they’re just staging things to make more money." Overall, Hotel is located on a noisy street. The opposite was a bus stop. So all very loud. The breakfast was abysmal. There was no fruit and only a variety of buns and bread. VERY unfriendly! Absolute Zero Service!! Save yourself a headache and frustration and book somewhere else, anywhere else! NEVER AGAIN!

Cons: Breakfast could have been a little better

Pros: It was nice and quiet and the staff was very friendly.
Cons: As far as I could see the shower didn’t work, however that didn’t bother me because I took a nice hot bath. The water was wonderfully hot.

Pros: The hotel is fine. I had the feeling that hotel stucked in 60th. Nevertheless, the room is clean, beds are comfortable, stuff is friendly. Hotel has underground parking, which is very convinient. Room walls are very soundproof, so we heard no noise from other rooms.
Cons: Room has no air conditioner, as a result in summer guest has to keep window opened. The room i used had windows to the street, which is surprisingly noisy at night, making sleeping very incomfortable. Also the bath is very slippery, one should be extremely carefull. Additionally, the shower door is not waterproof enough, as a result i managed to flood bathroom wile taking a shower.

Cons: The room was advertised as a triple with an extra bed. When we arrived there was no extra bed, and it wasn't possible to put one. Neither the hotel, nor booking.com were able to resolve the issue. Everyone just shrugged their shoulders. It was also too late to find another hotel. Disappointed both with this hotel and with booking.com for this poor experience. Booking.com offered us eur 10 compensation more than a month after complaining.

Pros: The breakfast was very good and staff were very helpful.
Cons: We were given a standard room initially when we had booked a superior room (for family of 4). The hotel had a print out indicating 2 people, we clearly booked with 2 children. After some comparison of booking details we were given the type of room we booked.
