Pros: Really nice manager and staff. Fun to have bikes. Good breakfast that you get to order! Great town to ride bikes around and several good restaurants and coffee shops to go to.

Pros: Food, friendly helpful staff and the free bikes - we used them every day from early until bed time.
Cons: The bed was too hard for my taste, but that's Asia
9,3 Excellent
Pros: The atmosphere and its greenery was superb.
Cons: The aircon in the room needs overhaul.
10,0 Excellent
Pros: We had a fantastic stay at Satri House. The hotel itself is full of charm and really comfortable. It's location is ideal too : walking distance to the town centre and if you want to borrow some bicycles, it is only a short ride to the many temples and restaurants. The staff is absolutely lovely and everything is done with a smile. We felt pampered, special and so relaxed during our stay. We could have stayed there forever.
Cons: What is there not to like? Nope, can't find anything!
10,0 Excellent
Pros: Attention from staff was excellent--Robert, the manager was so friendly, helpful & informative. The gardens & pools were peaceful & serene. Breakfast --great tasty selection
9,3 Excellent
Pros: The room was very spacious and comfortable. The grounds are beautiful and being at this hotel is really peaceful and relaxing. We loved the bikes they had available for use. We really appreciated the complimentary late check out!
Cons: The air conditioner is positioned in a way to blow very hard (even on low) directly on you in bed. Thankfully the mosquito net provided a slight buffer. For safety, it would be great if the bikes also had lights for use at night.

Pros: The location is perfect, view on the river. Breakfast is very good. The personnel and the staff are excellent, very friendly, and they read your questions, so you not have to ask ! This is in my opinion one of the places to stay in Luang Prabang. For me as a frequent traveller this resort is the best I ever visited.

Pros: Rooms are beautifully decorated and very comfortable. Love the pool area! Will be my first choice of hotel when i visit Luang Prabang again!
Cons: location is not very close to town area but it's manageable.
10,0 Excellent
Pros: Everything! The staff were lovely. The pool was much bigger than it looked online and the resort was colonial in style and very leafy. Lovely atmosphere. Really enjoyed a cocktail by the pool! We borrowed bikes to cycle into town over the French bridge. The bikes had a child seat for our 4 year old. If it was really hot then we took the free shuttle into town. Highly recommend this hotel. We could see Mount Phousi from our balcony.

Pros: Clean, great pool, lovely staff and service
Cons: The bicycle wasn’t comfortable to ride
9,5 Excellent
Cons: Too many mosquitoes... but that was how Luang Prabang was
10,0 Excellent
Pros: A gorgeous property tastefully made and decorated, extreme levels of comfort and hospitality. The staff is exemplary and make you really feel like family- On at the reception, Manager Chanh, the boys at the breakfast room, poolside- everyone takes pride in their hospitality and you can feel it. We were upgraded to a stunning room, but even if we hadn’t, the staff by itself would have made this a perfect experience. Room was well appointed and equipped. Super helpful staff, no request was too much, and always smiling. This is an establishment that the owners should be proud of. Location is right next to the old French bridge and about a 10-15 minute leisurely walk into old town. Plenty eating places within a short walk. The shuttle service was great too because of the hot days. With the mighty Mekong running right next to us, it was a beautiful setting at breakfast. Thank you for the set dinner, it was delicious and much appreciated!
Cons: WiFi didn’t quite reach our room by the pool, but really we shouldn’t have been looking for internet in a place like this :)

Cons: Should have few vegetarian option in the restaurant menu.

Pros: Everything . From the smiling pick up at the airport , free upgrade to the suite , the welcome drink, the housekeeping , the breakfast , the shuttle service , the swimming pool and fitness center. It's better than the pictures . Will definitely come back to this place someday .
Cons: That I didn't stay for more days and couldn't thank all the staff members personally for a wonderful stay.
6,3 Good
Pros: The room was very clean. Free drinking water was good in the heat. The air con was also very good in the room.
Cons: The breakfast was not very good at all. My wife ordered vegetarian breakfast and the food came out with bacon, ham and sausages. When she repeated her order the same food came back with the meat removed. There was still meat juices all over everything else. We didn't eat there again.

8,8 Excellent
Pros: Location Nice boutique hotel Staff View
Cons: Be aware that this hotel is not in an area but includes some separate properties (ie: swimming pool is quite far from the reception, some rooms can be away ~100-200-300 m from the reception and restaurant, you have to go across the road to reach the restaurant...) so it could cause some inconvenience

Pros: Amazing pearl in the beautiful city of Luang Prabang! Mr. Urban and his lovely team created a wonderful atmosphere and special place to relax and enjoy life! The little restaurant where the breakfast is served gives a stunning view on the Mekong. The food is great and at night time you‘ll enjoy your dinner in the light of little lanterns. The rooms are great and the team is willing to make everything possible!
8,3 Excellent
Pros: The design was beautiful
Cons: The pool was over the river, over a horribly rickety bridge which you had to pay 10k kip to cross.
10,0 Excellent

Pros: My wife and I stayed at this property for a quick get away, it was by far the best hotel experience we have ever had. The staff were excellent, friendly and attentive. The General Manager came to chat with the guest each morning providing a personal and warm feeling. The room was beautiful French colonial design with a balcony that opened up to the pristine hotel grounds that was covered in the most beautiful trees and gardens. The room was clean and bed was super comfortable. The food is beyond words, the chef at the restaurant has the perfect touch, combining French and Laos influences into some of the best dishes we have ever had in Asia (we have been living in Asia for 3 years). The bar is also wonderful emanating old French vibes, the pool is tranquil and calm -- with cocktails and food poolside which are to die for! We cannot recommend this property enough.
Cons: Not one single thing!
10,0 Excellent
Pros: Excellent ambiance, wonderful & helpful staff, great breakfast.
10,0 Excellent
Pros: The Residence is slightly out of the main part of Luang Prabang, bikes available so easy to access. The property was grand and classic, all we wanted was on hand! Exceptional staff and service - would highly recommend!
Cons: Wifi was intermittent
9,5 Excellent
Pros: Absolute phenomenal experience!!!
Cons: Couldn’t be any better !!
10,0 Excellent
Pros: This hotel has a main building with lobby, bar, and restaurant. In the park there is a large swimming pool. There are also 8 pavilions. Each pavilion has 4 rooms: 2 on the ground floor and 2 on the first floor. Some pavilions are named after a French pioneer in French Indochina. We had a room on the first floor of the pavilion named after Auguste Pavie. The room was large and beautiful. The bathroom was large and beautiful. There is a balcony with 2 chairs and a table. On the wall of the balcony there is a metal wire you can pull out and connect to a hook on the railing. Use this metal wire to hang up your wet swim suit when you have been to the swimming pool. Breakfast was included in the price of the room. It was delicious. There is Wi-Fi all over the hotel. It is free and it works well. The staff were very friendly and helpful. The manager showed up at our table when we were having breakfast the first morning. He wanted to meet us and talk to us. This was a very nice gesture. (In most hotels you never get to see the manager. Even if you try.) The hotel has more than a dozen bikes which are available to guests for free. With a bike you can ride all over Luang Prabang. The hotel has a free shuttle minibus which runs between the hotel and the post office (in the evening). This is very convenient. We enjoyed our stay at this hotel. We would like to stay there again if we can. PS. In the high season, this hotel is very expensive. In the low season, you can enjoy this place for a much lower price. This way you get good value for your money.
Cons: There were some minor flaws: (1) There is no towel rack in the bathroom. We had to use the chairs on the balcony to hang up our wet towels. (2) The water tap in the shower is unusual. There is only one switch for pressure and temperature. There should be one switch for pressure and one switch for temperature. (3) The bikes do not have a basket to carry anything. Most of the bikes are not equipped with a light in front and rear. You can only ride in the daytime and you must carry your stuff in a backpack.
7,5 Good
Pros: the spacious colonial style suite
Cons: the house keeping don't replenish the amenities in the room.
9,5 Excellent
Pros: Great location. The facilities are lush and fit for the environment that the resort sits in. Staff are extremely helpful and friendly. Free shuttle bus into town is a huge bonus. The pool area is stunning. It’s a relatively small resort so there is are not hundreds of people around.
Cons: I can’t think of anything.
10,0 Excellent
Pros: Delicious breakfast, soft silky bedding, attention to detail, small gifts, great staff and service, big rooms, beautiful views, well-kept gardens, free bicycles, vegetable garden and incredible pool
Cons: Nothing!
10,0 Excellent
Pros: Everything, it is such a beautiful atmospheric property with lush gardens a stunning pool area with a tastefully decorated restaurant, a real oasis to relax and day dream and sample the delicious food. Getting spoiled by the very attentive always smiling staff. The room was generous in space with an enormous very comfortable bed and a balcony to sit outside. Nothing was to much trouble, the food in the restaurant was delicious, a choice between Asian and western dishes. The two half day trips we booked through the hotel provided us with an excellent guide and were well worth to undertake. The shuttle service into town worked very well to visit the night market or for having dinner at one of the many restaurants in Luang Prabang. Also the airport transfers went totally smooth. When had to leave the manager and staff waved us goodbye like old friends and we were very sad to have to go.
Cons: My only regret is that we did not stay longer
5,0 Okay
Pros: The breakfast attendants who speak English well and the drivers who took us to the old town were always professional, but the others were not.
Cons: I have stayed in some hotels of SLH before. Therefore, I choose this hotel this time and look forward to this stay But the experience was rather disappointing: 1.Didn't turn on the air conditioner in the car and let us in the car at the first time that Employees are busy preparing work that should have been done before we arrived 2.The receptionist made us wait for a long time but forgot to check in with us Just ask a staff take us to our room because they were serving for two handsome men from Europe. They just remembered after they see us when we need use the car to going out 3.The bedding used in the hotel was of poor quality like guesthouse to use making sleep uncomfortable. 4.Daily cleaning only change rubbish bag and change bath towel, the floor was not cleaned and the bed is not well made. 5.Breakfast is easy maybe there aren't many guests. placemat is dirty you can see the dust on the it and it's plastic. 6. hotel staff have breakfast in the guest dining area at Breakfast time. Most of the staff lack basic training, are lax and lazy, especially the older receptionist in this hotel. If such a hotel can be called SLH that have many here even some guesthouse. We originally planned to stay for 5 nights, but we booked for 2 nights first. Now I feel this decision is right.I wanted to change hotels the first day I arrived

10,0 Excellent
Pros: Excellent boutique hotel in a lush tropical setting. Nicely restored French period facility with all the modern amenities. Exceptional resturant for breakfast and dinner. Heĺpful and friendly staff. Quiet location within easy walking distance the center of town. A great stay!
10,0 Excellent
Pros: Beautiful boutique hotel. Just outside of the main area so a nice walk into town. Fantastic service from the staff. It was my birthday and they delivered a lovely little cake to our room. The facilities were excellent with locally made soap provided, along with shampoo, conditioner and shower gel. We are planning on returning and I would book this hotel again. Our deal had a 2 way transfer to the airport which worked very well and removed that stress of the transfer.
Cons: Everything was wonderful.
10,0 Excellent
Pros: Its location is perfect for biking (or walking) to the sights, the staff are very helpful and always happy to make recommendations, the guest relations manager Elodie makes everyone feel at home, and the property itself is a small delightful gem of a place.
10,0 Excellent
Pros: The first morning we chose from the buffet breakfast but after that we were offered the menu to choose from. We're not sure why this changed but all of the choices were still available so it made no difference to us. Our room was outstanding, we stayed in room 6 and we can full recommend it. The swimming pool and the room's shower were especially good after a day of sightseeing!! All staff were always courteous, smiling and happy to practice their English. They made our stay very pleasant especially Elodie the Customer Relations Manager who went out of her way to be helpful and kind. We booked a couple of tours through the hotel at reasonable prices and even though the driver didn't speak much English he was very obliging. All in all a wonderful hotel and a very enjoyable stay!
Cons: The hotel is sprayed once a month (we think it's once but we could be wrong) for any bugs or nasties. However our stay fell just before the end of the month spraying and I got bitten a few times by the pool. It probably would have been far worse if they didn't spray. They also provide insect spray in the rooms and natural insect repellent. In fact the rooms are very well equipped.
8,8 Excellent
Pros: Lovely small hotel with very friendly staff. The room was spacious and beautiful. The bathroom was roomy and comfortable. There was a spa but we did not have time to use it. The hotel was a ten-minute walk to the middle of town. The town itself was clean and well laid out. The many Buddhist temples were must-see and the town location on the banks of the Mekong river made a river journey something that had to be done.
Cons: Nothing.
10,0 Excellent
Pros: One of the nicest places we’ve stayed. From the exceptional service and welcome at check in to allowing us to use the facilities after check out due to a late flight, the staff here go above and beyond. We stayed a week in Luang Prabang and the entire time at Vila Maly after a 3 week stint around Vietnam. Breakfast was a standout as it’s not a buffet you are give a selection of 4 kinds of breakfast and the choices are prepared and delivered fresh to your table, if your lucky (as we were) the Chef will come for a chat
10,0 Excellent
Pros: Loved the location, close to the center of town but far enough away for privacy. Staff was very attentive and pool was gorgeous.
Cons: Nothing
9,5 Excellent
Pros: We loved the free use of bikes and the friendly staff. They gave everything a really personal touch. The breakfast was delicious.
Cons: Nothing about the property or staff we could fault at all, the only minor thing was that we would have liked the western TV channels in to be available in English language.
10,0 Excellent
Pros: Good location, in a calmer street but super close to main street. Lovely buildings and rooms. Very friendly and helpful staff, good English. Great breakfast and capacity to adapt to allergies and food requirements.
Cons: The wifi was weak and kicking us out regularly. Bad soundproofing. Was hard to fall asleep certain evenings because of doors slamming, people talking loudly in other rooms, music on the streets. And in the morning we would get waken up pretty early by the house keeping staff talking and more doors slamming.
10,0 Excellent
Pros: Walking distance to almost everything. Close to the Mekong River and many cafes, bars and restaurants where you can overlook the river and watch The Sunset.
Cons: Can’t think of anything we didn’t like.

Pros: Fabulous location, great staff, simple but beautiful room, nice balcony, monks walk right past, great breakfast.
Cons: Can’t think of anything. This is our third stay there.
9,3 Excellent
Pros: Nice little hotel
Cons: One thing that was silly was that we booked a river cruise with transfers. The hotel was less than 100 metres from the boat. We would rather have walked. I think this was a case of trying to provide a good service instead of thinking about the reality of why anyone would catch a tuk tuk for 100m
10,0 Excellent
Pros: Great place.
10,0 Excellent

8,3 Excellent
Pros: staffs are friendly. Location is good.
Cons: At the back of the building is too close to others. not privacy. we cannot see anything.
10,0 Excellent
Pros: Friendly, helpful staff, beautiful surroundings and perfect location.
6,3 Good
Pros: Colonial period room decor evocative of the charm and romance during those times. Hotel has an excellent laid-back atmosphere that allows you to while your time away on its premises or by the river in the lower terrace. Lovely spa on premises. Breakfast comes with a daily special that offers variety and a taste of local flavors. Menu served by the restaurant is limited but of decent quality.
Cons: Was given a room on the ground floor that afforded little privacy since tourists and vehicles abound. The windows have to be left open for light to enter the room. Closing the windows gave more privacy but darkened the room considerably. As the room was very near the roadside, it was noisy whenever vehicles passed which happened very frequently throughout the morning and evenings. Service was overall patchy.
9,5 Excellent
Pros: Hotel provided a different cultural experience everyday, Almsgiving, market visit and cooking class, sunset cruise, cocktails and staff went out of their way to make these comfortable, educational and enriching. Food in the restaurant was excellent, especially the lunch we had on arrival, very fresh, exquisitely prepared and presented. Breakfast was delightful with the special of the day, a local speciality as well as eggs to order, yogurt, fruit, a variety of breads. We were upgraded to a balcony room overlooking the river, such a wonderful view of trees, plants and butterflies. The room was spacious, the wood so traditional, yet the shower in the room itself unusually modern in the French style. Coconut - based toiletries gave us a taste of the traditional materials in Lao culture, the kettle and provided chamomile tea were very welcome. The effort to reduce waste is also very good as we noticed that the use of plastic is minimal. Most of all, the kind and caring staff made us feel special and that they valued our visit and enjoyed sharing their culture with us.
Cons: Lighting could be brighter at the mirrors as the shadows prevented us from seeing our faces clearly. We just assumed there was a pool but understand that the Unesco restriction doesn't permit it. Maybe a bathtub is preferable to a shower for a soak in the hot weather?
9,3 Excellent
Pros: The location is excellent as it is walking distance for all the sights. The hotel has bikes which are an excellent way to get around. We crossed to the other side of the river and explored a bit of the countryside. The staff are absolutely charming. The hotel is lovely and Luang Prabang has a wonderful calm energy.
9,7 Excellent
Pros: The staff were amaxing! Good breakfast. Very relaxed and elegant environment.
Cons: The shower water was very frustrating! It kept changing from very hot to cold. Made having a shower a disappointing experience.
8,8 Excellent
Pros: Style, spa, staff, location
Cons: Bathroom not separated from the sleeping area of the room
9,5 Excellent
Pros: Staff were really friendly and the location was great. There were lots of activities available such as the cooking class and Alms giving.
Cons: I didn’t like the open bathroom style personally. Also our room was quite dark and it was confusing to figure out which switch turned off which light.
8,5 Excellent
Pros: The design of the room was great. Good location facing Nang Khan river. Breakfast wad great as well as staff were very friendly.
Cons: Bathroom was too dark.
9,3 Excellent
Pros: The room and facilities in general. Very good breakfast
9,5 Excellent
Pros: Location was excellent and I was very pleased by the staff. Mr. Sone went out of his way to help me retrieve a credit card lost in the local ATM. Many thanks to him and the rest of the staff
Cons: Everything was great

Cons: The breakfast is very good, homemade cakes and a choice between eggs that the prepare at the moment upon request. It just needs a little bit more variety to keep up with the hotel level. But the food is really good anyway!

Pros: The peaceful tranquil vibe of the villas and the gardens made Villa Maydou a perfect place to relax in the middle of our s-e Asia trip
Cons: The music - we were looking for music that reflected the Lao culture and couldn’t bear the Anglo European piano pieces or popular songs played round the pool and in the restaurant- great thing was staff changed the music when we raised the point with them
9,5 Excellent
Pros: Good location, lovely atmosphere in old style houses. Nice bar next to the little pool. Good breakfast.
Cons: Nothing.
9,3 Excellent
Pros: Wonderfully idyllic spot, away from the main part of Luang Prabang, but within easy walking distance. Our room was spacious and comfortable and we loved the private little balcony to sit out on. The swimming pool was lovely for afternoon escape from the heat. All the staff were helpful and friendly. We also liked having a choice of either a fan or air-conditioning in the room and the breakfast was plentiful with good choices.
10,0 Excellent
Pros: Hi recomended. Quiet place not far from the night market.
10,0 Excellent
Pros: Really lovely breakfast, beautiful garden and helpful staff
9,5 Excellent
Pros: Such a beautiful hotel in one of my favourite cities in the world. Perhaps a touch overpriced for the area, but it was such a pleasure to arrive here after two flights to reach Laos. Staff were very helpful and friendly. The free bikes were a little rusty but did the job.
9,3 Excellent
Pros: Natural paradise away from the centre hustle. Liked new front office manager Gail. There is a wat/temple just in front.
Cons: All ok
7,5 Good
Pros: The staffs were very friendly and welcoming. The breakfast was the best! The restaurant was the best as well. I love the cozy feeling inside the property. Very greeny. They let me change to another room for free! Really appreciate that.
Cons: According to our new room that they changed for us, I saw the toilet bowl had not flushed. It was some misunderstanding as well but the staff sorted out.

3 Nagas is a charming boutique hotel located in the center of Luang Prabang's UNESCO World Heritage site. The hotel is 15 rooms in 3 restored historical houses, blending contemporary style with traditional architecture and a gorgeous courtyard garden. Our address in the center of town within a short walk to major tourist attractions such as more than 30 Temples, two Rivers and the Night Market makes 3 Nagas the perfect place to enjoy the idyllic Lao lifestyle for leisure.

Pros: 5-star service
Cons: Nothing

Pros: Very helpful and attentive staff
9,7 Excellent
Pros: This was our third stay and it was every bit as good if not better than the first two. We had a large room with big bed covered with mosquito netting. The bathroom was modern but the hotel was wooden and felt like something from the early 20th century. The staff kept it clean. We had a terrace overlooking the garden. The breakfasts were excellent both western and Laotian.
Cons: Not much. Staff smoothed over any wrinkles.
9,3 Excellent
Pros: Very nice staff, great location and good breakfast
Cons: The wind from air-condition did not reach to bed, I was feeling hot when sleep in bed.
10,0 Excellent
Pros: Fantastic stay in this beautiful hotel, perfectly situated within walking distances of loads of beautiful temples, both the Mekong and the Nam khan rivers and the National museum/royal palace. Staff were wonderful, friendly and helpful Room was spotless and bed was really comfortable Breakfast was delicious
10,0 Excellent
Pros: While traveling and working in Asia for three decades, I never rated hotels. But 3 Nagas Hotel must be an exception. In my eyes it is the uniquest boutique hotel in the region. By arriving I was a bit disappointed that there is no pool. But I had to learn, no pools allowed in down-town Luang Prabang due to UNESCO-rules . However, the arrangement being able to swim at the near-by (10 min tuktuk-drive) Sofitel sister-hotel is a real plus! (25 m pool) Outstanding management. Perfect breakfast and very, very nice staff. Mr. Souk was superb! Good value for money. Great stay!
9,5 Excellent
Pros: Superb food at the restaurant. Warm welcome.
9,3 Excellent
Pros: Souk the breakfast guy remembered me and my coffee order from my last trip. A great team friendly and easygoing.
Cons: Can be a bit noisy because of location but aside from that wouldn’t change a thing.
9,4 Excellent
Pros: This was our fourth trip and every bit as good as the other times we had hoped and requested rooms we'd had before but the staff worked to find us one as good. The staff bends over to make the stay momorable and succeeded. Recommended highly.
Cons: Not much. Food was better than last time. The hotel used to have a small shop but that's gone. I had bought great gifts in the past.
7,0 Good
Pros: Location and staff. But there is plenty more hotels in this area with the same and more. Cheaper.
Cons: Just not up to scratch.
5,0 Okay
Pros: The General Manager who is in charge of the Sofitel and this property was charming.
Cons: There were discrepancies or should I say a large differential in prices the hotel quoted and what was available. For example transfer to/from the hotel was @ USD 22 whereas available rate was @ USD 8/10 one way and similarly for the excursions / tours. I can understand such differences in other developed countries but not Laos. Food / cuisine also quite expensive.
10,0 Excellent
Pros: Wonderful hotel, beautiful decor, very good food and service, wonderful location!

Pros: Everything! Everyone was welcoming and professional! We had booked a room that would have fit us but we’d have been cramped. So we were offered an upgrade at a good deal which we decided to go for and absolutely loved the new room! We had a very pleasant and relaxing stay. The staff was just great all the time and made sure our stay was amazing. We also celebrated my husband’s birthday and they organised a nice coconut cake. The pool was just lovely, clean and perfect temperature. We also used the spa and had some great massages! Overall we felt like royalty! It was just great! We wouldn’t consider staying somewhere else in Luang Prabang if we return
Cons: No gym Needs bigger bikes for bigger/taller people Not quite hotel related( just outside the gate) but a warning for future guests- if you go out early to watch the alms ceremony don’t get tricked/ scammed/ bullied by the people insisting on giving you rice to hand out
10,0 Excellent
Pros: The staff make this hotel so wonderful. They were so kind and welcoming, playing with our children and recommending things for us to do. It had such a relaxed feel, we immediately settled in to holiday mode. We loved the pool, the great food and the peaceful calm retreat after a day of sightseeing. It was 2 mins walk from the main sites, but still had plenty of space and a beautiful garden. I was so happy we chose this hotel.
Cons: Bathrooms could have been a bit more modern, but still clean and plenty of hot water etc.
9,3 Excellent
Pros: Very friendly, obliging staff, complimentary drinks, including tonic replenished in fridge every day. Free use of bicycles. Close to night market, museum and temples.
Cons: I am tall, a bigger bicycle would have been more comfortable.
8,3 Excellent
Pros: The staff were very attentive, friendly and professional at all times, especially Tey
10,0 Excellent
Pros: Breakfast, friendly service, location -- all great.
Cons: I would have liked a reading light next to bed that I could easily turn off when ready to sleep. Also accessible power points, or a shelf near power points, for the hot water jug. and for recharging devices.

Pros: Great People! Lovely place. Highly recommend!!

Pros: Amazing place to stay. Absolutely above and beyond in every way. Our luggage was lost and they provided clothes and toiletries. It was the little things also, mosquito coils lit each night on our balcony, candle lights, and the staff were incredible everywhere.
Cons: Didn’t stay long enough

Pros: Serenity-lovely atmosphere--generous & friendly staff
10,0 Excellent
Pros: Maison Svannaphoum is one of the best hotels Elvira and I have stayed in. The hotel management and the staff treated us so well that we felt very special. Breakfast was delicious, the staff are excellent, very attentive, informative with impeccable manners and knowledge. They are gracious, they have a soft and pleasant way of dealing with people which we have never come across with anyone before. The hotel is in a very good location. Close to the shops, cafe's, restaurants, Mekong river, markets. The management at this hotel is tops. Quality, food, rooms, the view, the pool. The hotel was very well looked after. Located in lush gardens and flowering plants and frangipani trees. Free WiFi. The guest's rooms are serviced twice a day. Mornings and evenings. Fragrance oil burners, candles, frangipanni fragrant shampoos, body lotions, conditioners, bottles of fresh water provided. Every evening we got some delicious treats placed in little jars in our room. We would give 10 stars for this hotel and recommend it to all travellers. Luang Prabang is a beautiful place to visit, It has gorgeous places to visit, ie; Kuang-Si waterfalls, Elephants Sanctuary, beautiful Temples, Villages and many more Tourist attraction this city has. Lao people are very nice, kind and spiritual. We loved the city and we loved Maison Svannaphou. Will definitely go back. Thank you, Tey, the manager and all of the staff at Maison Svannaphoum in Luang Prabang for making our holiday so memorable.
Cons: Nothing could have been better..
9,3 Excellent
Pros: Staff was extremely friendly and helpful.
Cons: Strange children's games set up in the beautiful garden area, looked cheap.

9,3 Excellent
Pros: The staff were great; breakfast decent; and rooms were cool as a result of goid design and the old hard wood architectural fixtures. The location is all but unmatched in Luang Prabang. Very quiet at night.
Cons: At least one guidebook wrongly describes this as having a pool - the historic properties at this end of Luang Prabang do not as they don't have the space (apparently the fancy suites have plunge pools but I cannot verify this!). Room was fine but wish I'd gone for one with its own balcony. The restaurant/bar however - from which you can see the Mekong - was a nice place to sit early evening.
9,3 Excellent
Pros: Good location and great staff!
9,5 Excellent
Pros: The hotel is aesthetically very beautiful. The staff will do everything they can to make your stay special with lots of thoughtful little details provided in the room. Staff are courteous and efficient and you will fell well looked after. The movie screening every night is a pleasant touch. The location is great with view over the Mekong river and lots of cafes and restaurants nearby.
Cons: There is no pool or gym. The spa is also very expensive, especially when you can walk 2 minutes down the road and have a range of options at a fraction of the price.
10,0 Excellent
Pros: The hotel upgraded our room category to a suite as we wanted two rooms in proximity and there were no rooms in our room category that were close by- we so appreciated it. Excellent service and kind staff Gorgeous and stylish decorations Great breakfast
Cons: That we had to leave eventually......
8,8 Excellent
Pros: The view and the breakfast. Ambiance was just great. Staff were really helpful and contributed to a great stay
Cons: Nothing, all good
6,3 Good
Pros: The outside garden is very nice. They let use the shower in the spa after check out and before we left to the airport.
Cons: The XiengThong villa is very disappointing. While it is big its internal division is not comfortable and there is very little space for slipping. Also, there was no view at all. The Mekong villa is much more comfortable.
10,0 Excellent
Pros: Beds very good, staff perfect, good food
10,0 Excellent
Pros: Whats to say.....this is by far one of the best properties I have stayed at in Asia. The staff were super friendly and helpful, especially the GM Mr Tuan and his fantastic French Chef JB. Its location is close to a number of very special and beautiful Pagoda Buddist Temples and local small business and coffee shops ect. The Hotel is actually the last Royal residence of the last King who abdicated in the seventies.
Cons: Well , there is no pool, this due to the property being a Unesco site and a heratige site so not allowed .apart from that nothing else really...
10,0 Excellent
Pros: Located toward the tip of the peninsula, I was able to walk everywhere I wanted to go. I stayed there during off-season, with no crowds or traffic anywhere, so it may be different at other times, but the booking.com price was about 1/3 the lowest price for a room as stated in Lonely Planet (2017). On top of that, with few guests, the hotel upgraded my room to one with two stories and a private jacuzzi on the first floor! There was complimentary pick-up at the airport, but I was charged for the return trip. But here is the best part: each day two cans of Beerlao appeared in the fridge at no additional charge.
Cons: Every night at 7 pm, the hotel shows the 1927 quasi-documentary film "Chang" in one room of the restaurant (or, I understand, outside when it is not the rainy season). I commend the hotel for showing this important film. It is well worth seeing, but it highlights the slaughter of now-endangered species by local people. Moreover, the praises to Buddha in the silent film's dialog text are inappropriate. The film shows no evidence of Buddhist practice among these local people; being rural people from Laos, they would have most likely been animist.
8,3 Excellent
Pros: -Excellent restaurant and kitchen. Chef Jean Baptiste always goes out fo his way to guarantee our satisfaction. My daughter is vegan. He always had something tasty for her and prepared for her special meals. the breakfast buffet was very good. a la carte dinner was always excellent. If he's not around, we would always have a communication problem with the staff as their English is lower than the required level to deal with tourists. Ask for him if you are there. -All staff was nice and ready to help despite the language barrier. They were very attentive and keen to serve but they just need some English lessons that the management should provide. -Excellent location on the river and walking distance to all attractions. very nice quiet atmosphere. The original fabric pieces on the room walls added a lot to the authenticity. - Very cute spacious balcony. (though some rooms are without balcony, you have to ask for it) - Nice landscape. - Prior to my arrival, communication with the reservation was very good to guarantee that I get what I asked for.
Cons: - low level of communication in English. Only the kitchen chef and one or two persons at the reception (who were not there all the time) could speak good English. Whenever I had any request a little bit more than "can I have a coffee or a glass of water etc" or maybe a question about the menu or what a dish contains the staff wasn't able to communicate. I had a relatively long stay so that was a bit bothering. - The quality of the massage in the spa could be higher. This is what we would expect in Laos. - The bathroom was just ok but for this hotel standard it needs some makeover as it's getting old. Same for the sofa.

Pros: The surroundings, the alfresco dinning for breakfast, yummy breakfast, the super friendly staff, proximity to the city area
Cons: Mosquitoes, squeaky room that creates weird noises, we guessed it's from the contraction expansion from the heat

Pros: The location is great.
Cons: The hotel was not flexible. My travel companion had an accident 1 week before our arrival in Luang Prabang. She had to be flown out and my travel plans were delayed. But the Hotel was not helpful in changing my dates. Beside that the hotel is totally overpriced.

Pros: The staff was really nice and helpful. The guy that checked us in and out and also served us everyday for breakfast was awesome.

Pros: Breakfast at balcony, helpful staff, good location, comfy bed...
Cons: The room needed some details to be fixed.. bathroom door didnt closed properly.. Balcony divider to kake the balcony area of the room more private was damaged. Also, they should make smoking prohibited in the balcony as well because my room got the smell from when neighbour was smoking... When we checked in, there was no soap or shampoo in the bathroom.. They need to pay attemtion to details...

Pros: Nice place to stay with family. It so peaceful and nice to see the river at our balcony room and rest even it in the rainy season. All food, staff survice of this hotel is Super!!!
9,5 Excellent
Pros: Beautiful room, super clean, within walking distance to almost everything, and it's in a pretty, quiet location. They give you a menu for breakfast and you pick what meal you would like. There are many choices including an omelette and toast with fruit, or muesli and yogurt with fruit. You could make your room completely dark, too, which was nice. I liked their big bottles of nice quality shampoo, conditioner and body wash. I liked their liquid hand soap.
Cons: Maybe they could ask if you wanted suggestions for things to do. But they were great at answering questions.
10,0 Excellent
Pros: Perfect position in what usually has been a quieter area
Cons: Unfortunately when we were there in early march 2018 they were extending the villa so we had construction noise all day. They were also concreting car parks across the road as well as a renovation two doors up. Best to contact owner to make sure works are all complete, as we had to move for some peace. This is happening all over Luang.

10,0 Excellent
Pros: People, location, hotel itself - all fantastic !
Cons: Nothing
8,0 Excellent
Pros: The pool area is beautiful with lots of space and plenty of day beds for guests. Our room was really spacious with a very comfortable bed. Although the property is out of the centre of Luang Prabang, its location means that the views are beautiful and the free shuttle bus in convenient for getting into the centre in the evenings.
Cons: The spa services are very expensive and the food on site is also quite pricey, as compared to other options outside of the resort. The gym is also quite basic.
8,3 Excellent
Pros: The rooms were comfortable and the pool was nice with big cabana beds. Breakfast was good and the staff were very friendly and helpful.
Cons: The hotel is around a 10 minute drive away from the centre (however the hotel do provide free hourly shuttles in the evening). The hotel was quite expensive for an inexpensive country. There were quite a few insects in the room, but it probably couldn't be avoided considering the location.
9,5 Excellent
Pros: The hotel and grounds were beautiful, the views were good , the shuttle bus was very useful, breakfast was good.
Cons: There was a smell of drains coming into the toilet as the soil pipe housing was not adequately sealed, unfortunately the smell was also detectable in the bedroom, we had to leave the vent extractor running all the time we were in the room but every time we returned from a trip the smell was back again. There was no ice tray in the fridge and so I had to make one myself. The provision of bottled water into our room happened at random and was unpredictable. The access to our room was up a steep incline with many steps, it was not a problem for us but might be difficult for anyone less active.
9,3 Excellent
Pros: We were met at the airport by the friendliest driver who gave us bottles of water and cool, damp, flannel wash cloths - how nice is that? All the staff at the Kiridara were so friendly, particularly the front office staff and the drivers who take you in the shuttle back and forth to town. The bed was one of the comfiest I have ever slept in. Our room had a little patio out back which looked towards the pool area. The breakfast had plenty of choice and you could eat outside or in. There is a spa in the hotel and I had a lovely massage, the staff there were very friendly. The shuttle was very helpful as getting into the centre of town is a long walk, we never walked it but rather took the shuttle, or a tuktuk. The staff did not mind my daughter and her partner hanging out with us at the pool as it was never very busy. It was nice to have the option of ceiling fan or air con, the room had both. Would recommend this hotel.
Cons: I think the shower area might have been better if it was tiled with white tiles as it felt a bit dark, despite the light you could turn on.
8,8 Excellent
Cons: Breakfast could have a few more choices
8,8 Excellent
Pros: The pool area is beautiful. The staff are friendly and the pillows are amazing!
Cons: A little bit of a walk to town
6,3 Good
Pros: Staff were mostly friendly and attentive
Cons: The air conditioning wasn’t cold enough, with a noisy sound as well; the bathroom door wasn’t properly installed with water leaked out after shower; it’s not practical to keep asking for the WiFi password

Pros: The VIEW
Cons: Lack of a gym and spa.
9,5 Excellent
Pros: A former royal palace set along the banks of the great Mekong river with beautiful gardens and a fairy tale setting at night time. Spectacular mountain scenery.
Cons: The hotel being a former palace has kept its open features. (No perimeter security. This results in a lack of security. The patio and room doors are not secure. The lack of a room safe is a further cause of concern.

Pros: Room is clean.
9,3 Excellent
Pros: Staff so friendly and helpful. Amazingly beautiful setting above the Mekong River. Good shuttle bus service into town but also short cheap tuk tuk ride. Lovely gardens with peacefully grazing buffalo which belong to the hotel.
Cons: Bitten by mosquitoes in the room at night despite good aircon!
9,5 Excellent
Pros: Food was very basic, not memorable, could improve for a hotel standard restaurant .
Cons: Variety and quality of breakfast, dinner and room service menu.
9,3 Excellent
Pros: The hotel must surely have one of the best locations in the whole of Luang Prabang, with panoramic views of the Mekong River from the restaurant and many of the hotel suites. The gardens are very tranquil and the free shuttle service into town very convenient.
Cons: Whilst the room was attractively decorated, the bed was rather hard and the decorative wooden frame noisy even when sitting on it. Other than that the room was fine.
10,0 Excellent
Pros: Location is fine but when traveling in May you have a lot of air pollution due to the farmers burning their land (grey skies). I would recommend to go another time of the year.
Cons: Location is fine but when traveling in May you have a lot of air pollution due to the farmers burning their land (grey skies). I would recommend to go another time of the year.

Pros: Staff was very polite and helping. The hotel handles pre-arriving requests very well. Great place to relax
Cons: The pool has no guard and no lights. It is located near the road inspiré of river(although there are lots of space) and you can easily be invaded by someone out of hotel without anyone being noticed.
