9,6 Excellent
Pros: Lovely resort. Extremely pleasant and helpful staff, beautiful rooms and grounds. Excellent quality and variety of breakfast items. While slightly out of downtown, that also made it very quiet and serene, and getting into town was easy and efficient. Would definitely return.
8,3 Excellent
Pros: The hotel is lovely situated on the Nam Khan river banks, inside a green garden and with a large pool with many sunbeds and umbrellas. I booked a bungalow which ensured a lot of living and storage space, a very stylish furniture, a large and comfortable bed, a frigo bar with also complimentary water, fresh fruit basket on arrival, excellent WIFI and a beautiful terrace. The staff was very kind and helpful all the time. I had no problem for an early check-in.
Cons: The hotel was not very close to downtown (20-25 minutes walking) and there were no tuk-tuk in the area since the closeby bridge is only for scooters (tuk-tuk and cars had to do a much longer way). The bamboo bridge, which in principle was the shorter walking way to dowtown, was broken (I had to take a boat to cross the river). There was also a free shuttle from the hotel to be booked about one hour in advance (may it be could be helpful to have it also at least at some fixed hours from downtown). The breakfast was surprisingly quite poor for a 4 star hotel (no local food). There were several small ants in the room, so no food should be left in.
10,0 Excellent
Pros: Loved the location of the hotel, cleanliness of the rooms and hotel in general as it's a new hotel, swimming pool was fantastic, service was excellent and all the staff attentive.
Cons: Nothing
10,0 Excellent
Pros: A nice hotel with great pool area and with friendly and helpful staff. Clean rooms with comfortable beds and nice soft pillows.
Cons: Unfortunately our room rate did not include complimentary breakfast. And that $20 US per person for breakfast was a little expensive particularly, as our stay was low season. This made us go elsewhere for most of our meals and all our breakfasts.
10,0 Excellent
Pros: Great resort. We even decided to come back after a trip into the jungle and got upgraded to a separate bungalow. Beautiful big room. Enormous bathroom and wonderful bed. The poon are is lovely and you are right by the river. Restaurant is good too. While you are in very peaceful surroundings at the hotel, town is only a walk away. Think it took us about 10-15 minutes to get into town.
Cons: Nothing.
9,6 Excellent
Pros: Wonderful location, even though it is not central. Enjoyed using the bicycles. Great swimming pool
7,5 Good
Pros: The triple room size with en-suite bathroom and terrace (1/F) was good and bed were comfortable. Safety box, fridge, aircon, outdoor furniture, slippers, bathroom items were welcome. The pool was just great. The restaurant was a nice place with its outdoor terrace. Walking distance to the centre (15 to 20min)
Cons: All extra services were expensive (restaurant, taxi, tours, beverage,...) that is why we used other suppliers The men service in restaurant can be improved. There is no shuttle service (or basic arrangement) from hôtel to city center so you need to walk across the old bridge (which can be scary by night or rainy day) or use a 40000tak tuk tuk to be driven there (using another bridge) but it is right there are also free bikes to rent. The night price is quite expensive for Lao.
10,0 Excellent
Pros: Super kind, helpful and friendly staff The pool, the location of the hotel
Cons: Nothing much to complain about really
10,0 Excellent
Pros: Good location, delicious breakfast, nice staff, clean and good service.
9,6 Excellent
Pros: It is a wonderful experience when staying at Luang Prabang!!! I am happy to recommend the hotel. Staff is so friendly and care anything for the customer. Although little far to downtone, however, just take a walk a few times or rent-free bicycle. In addition, they also provide free shuttle bus if customer needing. In the peripheral equipment, is so comfortable for the guest room, a relaxed atmosphere. Especially the swimming pool, it has beautiful designing and view. In a word, everything is so greater!!!
Cons: No

Pros: Breakfast was amazing, staff very kind !! The place is beautiful and peaceful
Cons: There was a shooting of a movie during the weekend, we couldn’t use the main pool.
6,8 Good
Pros: Staff, location, ambiance and decor.
Cons: Same breakfast every day, poor attention to detail and more reactive than proactive approach.
10,0 Excellent
Pros: Satri House is exceptional. Human nature is to find fault but they are faultless. The staff were like family and nothing was too much trouble. The army of staff worked from sunrise to sunset to make everything immaculate. It s v close to the centre and free bikes made it a quick trip or 10 mins walk. 2 pools! Fancy being on your own then go to the second pool. Didn’t try the spa (bit steep for my budget) but looked amazing. I have nothing to gain in this review but it’s a superb hotel. Can’t rate it highly enough. I m planning my trip back to L P on the back of my stay at the hotel. I hope it’s not discovered by the multitudes before I return! It’s honestly out of this world. Lisa from London, England
10,0 Excellent
Pros: Stunning French colonial complex, tastefully decorated with great staff and delicious food. Located in a quiet bit of Luangprabang with an easy walk into the centre. Highly recommend!
Cons: I'd be clutching at straws but the lock on our door was a bit stiff and hard to work.
10,0 Excellent
Pros: Staff was incredibly kind and nice. I could feel how much they love their hotel and how sincerely welcome guest with their heart whenever I talked with them. They even prepared a souvenir when we checked out. Room was exactly the same as the pictures and hotel was very antique but cozy. Loved the overall interior.
Cons: not at all.
8,3 Excellent
Pros: Dailek and Banthi were wonderful and very helpful. They made the stay feel like we were not outsiders. Additionally, the pool is gorgeous and the afternoon snacks were delicious.
Cons: There was an issue with the A/C in our first room and it took a while to figure out it was broken which was poorly communicated. Though it happens that A/C breaks down, I was fairly disappointed that a high end hotel like this one they did not change us to a better room or offer some complementaries as a result; we ended up getting a room that was not as nice (and they kindly offered to let us sleep in one and move to another the following night but it was all a tad too complicated for a short stay). That said, this is in the details and a lovely hotel overall! The only other thing is that laundry is WAY TOO EXPENSIVE and you can get it done next door to close to nothing with lovely locals.
10,0 Excellent
Pros: Building style and resort layout including room decor and size plus lovely gardens made Satri House a special place to stay
8,3 Excellent
Pros: It’s a beautiful building and grounds, very nicely decorated. Swimming pool good size and clean Breakfast was terrific Staff very friendly and helpful. Bed very comfortable, A/C worked well. It was in quiet neighborhood a short walk to center of town.
Cons: Would have been nice to have an exercise room. The chair in the room small and not very comfortable,
10,0 Excellent
Pros: This was a lovely, lovely place to stay. Super, friendly staff. Lovely ambience at breakfast.
Cons: We only spent four days there.
7,9 Good
Pros: Enjoyable, quiet retreat with beautiful gardens and pools. Excellent service by the staff, who were so helpful even after I checked out of the hotel (for example, they let me use showers when I came to pick up my luggage after a day of elephant brushing). Delicious food and great rooms with their own balconies or private patios. The two swimming pools, though small, were well-maintained and great for wiling away the hours reading a book. There are lots of seating areas for just quiet relaxation. Has very special touches: each day they give you a little Laos treat in your room, like rice desserts and coconut pancakes. You're guaranteed a safe neighborhood too: it's right across from the local version of a police station.
Cons: I think my only complaint would be the rather dim rooms. I stayed in a lower-floor deluxe room and the sunshine wasn't getting in too much so I had to use the lamps quite a bit. If you want to be close to the night markets or temples, it's a bit of a walk away, but manageable.

9,6 Excellent
Pros: The hotel has great staff, excellent breakfast, very elegant design in room, and very good quality of furniture and beds. Pool, although seems small is indeed very nice. It is a place that I would like to visit again!
9,6 Excellent
Pros: Super clean, quiet, very friendly staff, felt very safe which was important because our daughters were in the room next door, great pool which we often had to ourselves, the restaurant is open all day and the prices are comparable to restaurants near the night market, excellent breakfast with many choices, 10-12 minute walk to the old town but also has a free shuttle, the hotel has recos for drivers to Kuang Si and will arrange for guests (the price is in the typical range), an airport shuttle is free if guests have an extended stay at the hotel.
10,0 Excellent
Pros: Hotel was amazing, clean and extremely comfortable with excellent facilities. The staff were extremely friendly, welcoming and eager to help at every moment and couldn’t do enough to ensure I had the perfect experience.
Cons: Towards the end of my stay a large group arrived which were extremely noisy. Although this is no fault of the hotel it might help the group to be reminded they are not the only hotel guests and they could be more considerate of others. (Especially as of the proximity of guest rooms to the pool and restaurant area).
9,6 Excellent
Pros: The hotel staff were outstanding . The property is real value for money.
Cons: Should have few vegetarian option in the restaurant menu.
9,6 Excellent
Pros: The hotel staff was very welcoming, and the restaurant had a great variety for the breakfast meal as well as its lunch and dinner menus.
Cons: The pool is a bit small but for the number of guests that it accommodates, its ok.
8,8 Excellent
Pros: Breakfast could use more variety
Cons: When we first entered the rooms - it had mosquitos and other insects.
9,2 Excellent

Cons: nothing...

Pros: Everything . From the smiling pick up at the airport , free upgrade to the suite , the welcome drink, the housekeeping , the breakfast , the shuttle service , the swimming pool and fitness center. It's better than the pictures . Will definitely come back to this place someday .
Cons: That I didn't stay for more days and couldn't thank all the staff members personally for a wonderful stay.
6,3 Good
Pros: The room was very clean. Free drinking water was good in the heat. The air con was also very good in the room.
Cons: The breakfast was not very good at all. My wife ordered vegetarian breakfast and the food came out with bacon, ham and sausages. When she repeated her order the same food came back with the meat removed. There was still meat juices all over everything else. We didn't eat there again.

Pros: Beautiful property with balconies overlooking the Mekong River. The staff was so kind and attentive. The pool/spa is a short walk away from the hotel and it is a beautiful pool to spend the afternoon by. Breakfast at the Riverview restaurant is delightful.
8,8 Excellent
Pros: Location Nice boutique hotel Staff View
Cons: Be aware that this hotel is not in an area but includes some separate properties (ie: swimming pool is quite far from the reception, some rooms can be away ~100-200-300 m from the reception and restaurant, you have to go across the road to reach the restaurant...) so it could cause some inconvenience
9,6 Excellent
Pros: Loved the hotel!! The rooms where lovely and the beds were the best we slept in in Laos!! Location was fantastic!
6,7 Good
Pros: The facilities are lovely and I really want to give this hotel an excellent rating. BUT - see below. The rooms are well decorated and water/tea/coffee provided. All the buildings are done in the style to comply with UNESCO standards. One night there was wine in the garden and it was lovely.
Cons: But I did NOT have hot water. I told the staff and they said it was fixed but it was not. Upon checking out I informed them again and he really didn't seem to care and only offered a half-hearted "sorry". This hotel was not cheap and I can't give higher marks. Also, the internet didn't work well in my room.
8,8 Excellent
Pros: The agreeability of the staff.
Cons: The breakfast could have had more choice.
10,0 Excellent
Pros: Great location by the Mekong.
10,0 Excellent
Pros: Such a lot of thought has gone into creating this special hotel. The staff were superb - warm and friendly. Delightful location. New spa was excellent
Cons: We can’t think of anything negative to say
9,6 Excellent
Pros: Amazing pearl in the beautiful city of Luang Prabang! Mr. Urban and his lovely team created a wonderful atmosphere and special place to relax and enjoy life! The little restaurant where the breakfast is served gives a stunning view on the Mekong. The food is great and at night time you‘ll enjoy your dinner in the light of little lanterns. The rooms are great and the team is willing to make everything possible!
8,3 Excellent
Pros: The design was beautiful
Cons: The pool was over the river, over a horribly rickety bridge which you had to pay 10k kip to cross.
10,0 Excellent
Pros: Amazing location on the river. Rooms are nice with outside space not all have river views but they are lovely as is the location of the hotel. The breakfasts are terrific and the seating is on the river with lovely views. Staff was helpful and very friendly.

8,3 Excellent
Pros: staffs are friendly. Location is good.
Cons: At the back of the building is too close to others. not privacy. we cannot see anything.
10,0 Excellent
Pros: Friendly, helpful staff, beautiful surroundings and perfect location.
9,6 Excellent
Pros: Everything was excellent but the SPA was outstanding.
6,3 Good
Pros: Colonial period room decor evocative of the charm and romance during those times. Hotel has an excellent laid-back atmosphere that allows you to while your time away on its premises or by the river in the lower terrace. Lovely spa on premises. Breakfast comes with a daily special that offers variety and a taste of local flavors. Menu served by the restaurant is limited but of decent quality.
Cons: Was given a room on the ground floor that afforded little privacy since tourists and vehicles abound. The windows have to be left open for light to enter the room. Closing the windows gave more privacy but darkened the room considerably. As the room was very near the roadside, it was noisy whenever vehicles passed which happened very frequently throughout the morning and evenings. Service was overall patchy.
9,6 Excellent
Pros: Hotel provided a different cultural experience everyday, Almsgiving, market visit and cooking class, sunset cruise, cocktails and staff went out of their way to make these comfortable, educational and enriching. Food in the restaurant was excellent, especially the lunch we had on arrival, very fresh, exquisitely prepared and presented. Breakfast was delightful with the special of the day, a local speciality as well as eggs to order, yogurt, fruit, a variety of breads. We were upgraded to a balcony room overlooking the river, such a wonderful view of trees, plants and butterflies. The room was spacious, the wood so traditional, yet the shower in the room itself unusually modern in the French style. Coconut - based toiletries gave us a taste of the traditional materials in Lao culture, the kettle and provided chamomile tea were very welcome. The effort to reduce waste is also very good as we noticed that the use of plastic is minimal. Most of all, the kind and caring staff made us feel special and that they valued our visit and enjoyed sharing their culture with us.
Cons: Lighting could be brighter at the mirrors as the shadows prevented us from seeing our faces clearly. We just assumed there was a pool but understand that the Unesco restriction doesn't permit it. Maybe a bathtub is preferable to a shower for a soak in the hot weather?
9,7 Excellent
Pros: The staff were amaxing! Good breakfast. Very relaxed and elegant environment.
Cons: The shower water was very frustrating! It kept changing from very hot to cold. Made having a shower a disappointing experience.
9,4 Excellent
Pros: Decoration in room with a lot of wood and antique style
Cons: Bicycles they have for free are a bit outdated
8,5 Excellent
Pros: The design of the room was great. Good location facing Nang Khan river. Breakfast wad great as well as staff were very friendly.
Cons: Bathroom was too dark.
8,0 Excellent
Pros: Rooms were very comfortable, classy. Staff were friendly n accommodating. Loved the balcony n the river view. Free Complimentary activity ( alms giving) is highly appreciated. We stayed in 3 resorts during for visit to LP. I loved this place the most .
Cons: There was a renovation work going on , hence it was noisy n a bit dusty during our breakfast. But it doesn’t stop me from visiting the resort again. Breakfast spread was very limited and very minimum for a vegetarian like me ( thanks to chef to arrange some cooked vegetables) and fried spring rolls.
9,2 Excellent
Pros: The room and facilities in general. Very good breakfast
9,6 Excellent
Pros: Location was excellent and I was very pleased by the staff. Mr. Sone went out of his way to help me retrieve a credit card lost in the local ATM. Many thanks to him and the rest of the staff
Cons: Everything was great
8,3 Excellent
Pros: The staff went out of their way to ensure we were happy and content. There was an excellent spa on site.
Cons: I can think of nothing that we didn’t like.

Pros: The architecture, a mix of French colonial, situated in spacious, well designed gardens makes for a nice place to come home to each day. But the staff make the place - nothing is too much trouble. They are attentive, kind, warm people that embody the beautiful Laos culture. They anticipated your needs and already had it solved before you knew you needed something. They were also on hand to welcome you back after a day out. The pool makes a delightful oasis to retreat to. The detailed finishes in the suites are of a high quality. Bedding was lovely and we had a great night sleep every night. I could go on but you get the idea ;)
10,0 Excellent
Pros: My wife and I stayed at this property for a quick get away, it was by far the best hotel experience we have ever had. The staff were excellent, friendly and attentive. The General Manager came to chat with the guest each morning providing a personal and warm feeling. The room was beautiful French colonial design with a balcony that opened up to the pristine hotel grounds that was covered in the most beautiful trees and gardens. The room was clean and bed was super comfortable. The food is beyond words, the chef at the restaurant has the perfect touch, combining French and Laos influences into some of the best dishes we have ever had in Asia (we have been living in Asia for 3 years). The bar is also wonderful emanating old French vibes, the pool is tranquil and calm -- with cocktails and food poolside which are to die for! We cannot recommend this property enough.
Cons: Not one single thing!
10,0 Excellent
Pros: Excellent ambiance, wonderful & helpful staff, great breakfast.
7,9 Good
Cons: They hide behind booking.com to justify that they overcharge us. Without even trying to help finding a solution. Not very service oriented for a 5 stars property.
10,0 Excellent
Pros: One of the nicest hotels we have stayed in ever. Fantastic tropical and authentic atmosphere, very professional and nice staff, big and very stylish and cozy rooms. The kitchen is likewise outstanding. Pool area superior. The Hotel is like a warm family home where we wanted to stay longer! ... and now top of the list of hotels we want to re-visit.

5,0 Okay
Pros: The breakfast attendants who speak English well and the drivers who took us to the old town were always professional, but the others were not.
Cons: I have stayed in some hotels of SLH before. Therefore, I choose this hotel this time and look forward to this stay But the experience was rather disappointing: 1.Didn't turn on the air conditioner in the car and let us in the car at the first time that Employees are busy preparing work that should have been done before we arrived 2.The receptionist made us wait for a long time but forgot to check in with us Just ask a staff take us to our room because they were serving for two handsome men from Europe. They just remembered after they see us when we need use the car to going out 3.The bedding used in the hotel was of poor quality like guesthouse to use making sleep uncomfortable. 4.Daily cleaning only change rubbish bag and change bath towel, the floor was not cleaned and the bed is not well made. 5.Breakfast is easy maybe there aren't many guests. placemat is dirty you can see the dust on the it and it's plastic. 6. hotel staff have breakfast in the guest dining area at Breakfast time. Most of the staff lack basic training, are lax and lazy, especially the older receptionist in this hotel. If such a hotel can be called SLH that have many here even some guesthouse. We originally planned to stay for 5 nights, but we booked for 2 nights first. Now I feel this decision is right.I wanted to change hotels the first day I arrived

Pros: Excellent boutique hotel in a lush tropical setting. Nicely restored French period facility with all the modern amenities. Exceptional resturant for breakfast and dinner. Heĺpful and friendly staff. Quiet location within easy walking distance the center of town. A great stay!
10,0 Excellent
Pros: Beautiful boutique hotel. Just outside of the main area so a nice walk into town. Fantastic service from the staff. It was my birthday and they delivered a lovely little cake to our room. The facilities were excellent with locally made soap provided, along with shampoo, conditioner and shower gel. We are planning on returning and I would book this hotel again. Our deal had a 2 way transfer to the airport which worked very well and removed that stress of the transfer.
Cons: Everything was wonderful.
10,0 Excellent
Pros: Its location is perfect for biking (or walking) to the sights, the staff are very helpful and always happy to make recommendations, the guest relations manager Elodie makes everyone feel at home, and the property itself is a small delightful gem of a place.
9,6 Excellent
Pros: the gardens, the pool - very beautiful and relaxing. Staff were helpful and friendly.
Cons: Breakfast was limited but ok. I would have liked more fresh juices and greater variety of fruit. Still a pleasant breakfast. Fresh juices at the bar would also have been nice alternative to only alcohol.
10,0 Excellent
Pros: Great location, friendly staff, comfy beds, great breakfast, and quick response when setting up a taxi to and from the airport. I highly recommend this hotel.
9,2 Excellent
Pros: Very friendly staff, nice pool.
10,0 Excellent
Pros: Good location, in a calmer street but super close to main street. Lovely buildings and rooms. Very friendly and helpful staff, good English. Great breakfast and capacity to adapt to allergies and food requirements.
Cons: The wifi was weak and kicking us out regularly. Bad soundproofing. Was hard to fall asleep certain evenings because of doors slamming, people talking loudly in other rooms, music on the streets. And in the morning we would get waken up pretty early by the house keeping staff talking and more doors slamming.
10,0 Excellent
Pros: Walking distance to almost everything. Close to the Mekong River and many cafes, bars and restaurants where you can overlook the river and watch The Sunset.
Cons: Can’t think of anything we didn’t like.

Pros: Good breakfast, did not seem to be any limit. Excellent fruit salad, eggs cooked as you like and local specialities. Breakfast served in garden.
Cons: Complex built to Asia standard i.e. doors not closing easily few power points. To turn off lights you had to go to front door. No reading light over bed. Hanging space four hangers but limited hanging space.
8,3 Excellent
Pros: Staff, breakfast, greenery, quiet, secluded from street, tuk-tuk drivers know the hotel. (I was traveling with a western female friend who stayed in another room and she loved the place.)
Cons: This boutique hotel was clean and cute but it was not functional enough for me: There was no place inside the room to place things on. I had to open up my suitcase on either the bed or the floor. No desk or table to write on. The shower had no water pressure, and the drainage leaked out onto the floor. The wifi in my room did not work. The fridge was cluttered with junk that I did not want.

Pros: Breakfast, friendly service, location -- all great.
Cons: I would have liked a reading light next to bed that I could easily turn off when ready to sleep. Also accessible power points, or a shelf near power points, for the hot water jug. and for recharging devices.
8,8 Excellent
Pros: Nice property with in a colonial style, nice renovation of rooms.
Cons: The garden was not kept very well and the entire hotel looks a bit dated.
6,3 Good
Pros: Location. Staff
Cons: Old, small, overpriced, charm lost
9,6 Excellent
Pros: Hotel staff were exceptionally friendly. We also loved all the special touches in our room, such as the oil burner and mosquito spray. The bed turning was a real ritual.
9,6 Excellent
Pros: Staff was really nice.
Cons: Breakfast can be more various.
8,8 Excellent
Pros: The heritage and the excellent service of the staff.
Cons: rooms are a little dated.
7,9 Good
Pros: The staff were helpful to a fault - the location is good and the massages were very pleasant. Beds comfortable, air con good in the room. Atmosphere very nice.
Cons: Our WiFi was very unreliable, though the staff did their best to sort this. Also the prices are high, for food and taxis - we went to a boat cruise and the taxi cost $5 which was high considering how close it was. We were also phoned once or twice at unsociable hours while our ‘do not disturb’ sign was on - the staff apologised but it disrupted our sleep.

Cons: Nothing
10,0 Excellent
Pros: All meals at the hotel were excellent and served by friendly staff. Room was very spacious and had all the requisite technologies and features. Would stay there again.
Cons: Nothing.
9,7 Excellent
Pros: This was our third stay and it was every bit as good if not better than the first two. We had a large room with big bed covered with mosquito netting. The bathroom was modern but the hotel was wooden and felt like something from the early 20th century. The staff kept it clean. We had a terrace overlooking the garden. The breakfasts were excellent both western and Laotian.
Cons: Not much. Staff smoothed over any wrinkles.
10,0 Excellent
Pros: I likes the service from all staff there. They take care all of our requests. The breakfast is cool and good quality. The hotel location is excellent, close to great restaurant and cafe. There are also Tuktuk park in front the hotel with fair price.
Cons: Nothing

Pros: Very nice staff, great location and good breakfast
Cons: The wind from air-condition did not reach to bed, I was feeling hot when sleep in bed.
10,0 Excellent
Pros: Fantastic stay in this beautiful hotel, perfectly situated within walking distances of loads of beautiful temples, both the Mekong and the Nam khan rivers and the National museum/royal palace. Staff were wonderful, friendly and helpful Room was spotless and bed was really comfortable Breakfast was delicious

Pros: Staff were fantastic. Nor and Bird especially.
9,4 Excellent
Pros: This was our fourth trip and every bit as good as the other times we had hoped and requested rooms we'd had before but the staff worked to find us one as good. The staff bends over to make the stay momorable and succeeded. Recommended highly.
Cons: Not much. Food was better than last time. The hotel used to have a small shop but that's gone. I had bought great gifts in the past.
7,1 Good
Pros: Location and staff. But there is plenty more hotels in this area with the same and more. Cheaper.
Cons: Just not up to scratch.
5,0 Okay
Pros: The General Manager who is in charge of the Sofitel and this property was charming.
Cons: There were discrepancies or should I say a large differential in prices the hotel quoted and what was available. For example transfer to/from the hotel was @ USD 22 whereas available rate was @ USD 8/10 one way and similarly for the excursions / tours. I can understand such differences in other developed countries but not Laos. Food / cuisine also quite expensive.
10,0 Excellent
Pros: Wonderful hotel, beautiful decor, very good food and service, wonderful location!

Overview Reviews
With a stay at Victoria Xiengthong Palace, you'll be centrally located in Luang Prabang, steps from Wat Xieng Thong and within a 5-minute walk of Heritage House. Featured amenities include complimentary wired Internet access, a computer station, and express check-in.
9,6 Excellent
Pros: The hotel is aesthetically very beautiful. The staff will do everything they can to make your stay special with lots of thoughtful little details provided in the room. Staff are courteous and efficient and you will fell well looked after. The movie screening every night is a pleasant touch. The location is great with view over the Mekong river and lots of cafes and restaurants nearby.
Cons: There is no pool or gym. The spa is also very expensive, especially when you can walk 2 minutes down the road and have a range of options at a fraction of the price.
10,0 Excellent
Pros: Good food, good location with a very good staff.
9,2 Excellent
Pros: 1. The hotel itself is exquisite, simply beautiful! We love our room so much (spacious, with private jacuzzi, beautiful interior) that we would like to come here again! 2. The price is very reasonable for what it is! 3. The staff are very friendly and accommodating. 4. The breakfast is WONDERFUL. 5. The location is also quite strategic - the monks walk in front of the hotel in the morning for alms giving ceremony, the hotel is also walking distance to nice cafes and restaurants around the town.
Cons: 1. One thing that was quite disappointing is - we wished the staff would have been more proactive by informing us that we needed to inform them 3 hours in advance if we would like to use the warm water. We did not know of that until the very last day. Maybe the hotel can put up a sign in the room. However, me and my partner still had an amazing stay here and we would like to stay here again!
10,0 Excellent
Pros: It's a place to be.
Cons: nothing at all.
10,0 Excellent
Pros: Services & hospitality of staffs
Cons: Wifi was too slow
8,3 Excellent
Pros: Great Staff. Lovely room. Many nice touches. Thoughtful people. Very accommodating.
Cons: The bed was a little hard for me.
7,9 Good
Pros: very good location, just beside my favorite temple in Luang Prabang, the Wat Xieng Thong, and the hotel restaurant just in front of the Mekong river, very nice view. Victoria Xiengthong Palace used to be a personal residence of the king of Laos, therefore here is a historical place.
Cons: the reception services are great, and also the restaurant services are all very nice, but the spa is not very good, the masseuse who massaged me seems was not well trained, most of the time she was just pressing my body with both hands, for a while she probably thought I was falling asleep, so she just held my leg still, I am very disappointed with this massage, it's totally not worth the 80$USD (90 mins), even with the 1 for 1 promotion , still not worth the money, outside the hotel, the normal price average is 8$USD per hour.
10,0 Excellent
Pros: Beds very good, staff perfect, good food
10,0 Excellent
Pros: Whats to say.....this is by far one of the best properties I have stayed at in Asia. The staff were super friendly and helpful, especially the GM Mr Tuan and his fantastic French Chef JB. Its location is close to a number of very special and beautiful Pagoda Buddist Temples and local small business and coffee shops ect. The Hotel is actually the last Royal residence of the last King who abdicated in the seventies.
Cons: Well , there is no pool, this due to the property being a Unesco site and a heratige site so not allowed .apart from that nothing else really...
10,0 Excellent
Pros: Located toward the tip of the peninsula, I was able to walk everywhere I wanted to go. I stayed there during off-season, with no crowds or traffic anywhere, so it may be different at other times, but the booking.com price was about 1/3 the lowest price for a room as stated in Lonely Planet (2017). On top of that, with few guests, the hotel upgraded my room to one with two stories and a private jacuzzi on the first floor! There was complimentary pick-up at the airport, but I was charged for the return trip. But here is the best part: each day two cans of Beerlao appeared in the fridge at no additional charge.
Cons: Every night at 7 pm, the hotel shows the 1927 quasi-documentary film "Chang" in one room of the restaurant (or, I understand, outside when it is not the rainy season). I commend the hotel for showing this important film. It is well worth seeing, but it highlights the slaughter of now-endangered species by local people. Moreover, the praises to Buddha in the silent film's dialog text are inappropriate. The film shows no evidence of Buddhist practice among these local people; being rural people from Laos, they would have most likely been animist.

Pros: Just amazing! From the garden and the pool with the bar area to the room itself. Super clean and comfortable. The staff Speaks very good English and is really helpful for any request. Just wish i stayed more!
Cons: The breakfast is very good, homemade cakes and a choice between eggs that the prepare at the moment upon request. It just needs a little bit more variety to keep up with the hotel level. But the food is really good anyway!
9,6 Excellent
Pros: Our room (Deluxe traditon) was wonderful, clean and beautiful. Wooden floors were amazingly beautiful. In the pool area there was really heretage feeling when the old music was playing. Atmosphere in the pool bar was very warm and nice. Hotel is nere the nigth market and Mount Phusi, you can easily walk there (about 10-15min). Hotel arranged us trip to Khonsi warterfalls and the trip went very well.
Cons: Paths made of big stones was very slippery if you use sandals, but those paths were beautiful.
10,0 Excellent
Pros: The peaceful tranquil vibe of the villas and the gardens made Villa Maydou a perfect place to relax in the middle of our s-e Asia trip
Cons: The music - we were looking for music that reflected the Lao culture and couldn’t bear the Anglo European piano pieces or popular songs played round the pool and in the restaurant- great thing was staff changed the music when we raised the point with them
9,6 Excellent
Pros: Good location, lovely atmosphere in old style houses. Nice bar next to the little pool. Good breakfast.
Cons: Nothing.
9,2 Excellent
Pros: Wonderfully idyllic spot, away from the main part of Luang Prabang, but within easy walking distance. Our room was spacious and comfortable and we loved the private little balcony to sit out on. The swimming pool was lovely for afternoon escape from the heat. All the staff were helpful and friendly. We also liked having a choice of either a fan or air-conditioning in the room and the breakfast was plentiful with good choices.

Pros: Hi recomended. Quiet place not far from the night market.
10,0 Excellent
Pros: Really lovely breakfast, beautiful garden and helpful staff
9,6 Excellent
Pros: Such a beautiful hotel in one of my favourite cities in the world. Perhaps a touch overpriced for the area, but it was such a pleasure to arrive here after two flights to reach Laos. Staff were very helpful and friendly. The free bikes were a little rusty but did the job.
9,2 Excellent
Pros: Natural paradise away from the centre hustle. Liked new front office manager Gail. There is a wat/temple just in front.
Cons: All ok
7,5 Good
Pros: The staffs were very friendly and welcoming. The breakfast was the best! The restaurant was the best as well. I love the cozy feeling inside the property. Very greeny. They let me change to another room for free! Really appreciate that.
Cons: According to our new room that they changed for us, I saw the toilet bowl had not flushed. It was some misunderstanding as well but the staff sorted out.

Pros: Lovely rooms, very friendly and helpful staff. Food in restaurant yummy and not badly priced. Good variety at breakfast. Pool is lovely to finish off the day and watch nightfall. Had a Balinese massage treatment which was great too. Gym was small but sufficient for a mid trip workout.
Cons: A little out of the main ‘town’ but the bikes were free and a great way to see the town plus you could grab a lift and pick up any time you want in the morning and afternoon and there are scheduled pick ups and drop offs in the evening.
9,6 Excellent
Pros: Everything was generally just amazing. The location of the hotel is idea for someone wanting a very chill time as well as access to the city at a short distances walk.
Cons: No room service after 10:30 at night. Made getting water difficult later at night. And the burger was horrible.
9,2 Excellent
Pros: Amazing staff and beautiful property
10,0 Excellent
Pros: People, location, hotel itself - all fantastic !
Cons: Nothing
7,9 Good
Pros: The pool area is beautiful with lots of space and plenty of day beds for guests. Our room was really spacious with a very comfortable bed. Although the property is out of the centre of Luang Prabang, its location means that the views are beautiful and the free shuttle bus in convenient for getting into the centre in the evenings.
Cons: The spa services are very expensive and the food on site is also quite pricey, as compared to other options outside of the resort. The gym is also quite basic.
8,3 Excellent
Pros: The rooms were comfortable and the pool was nice with big cabana beds. Breakfast was good and the staff were very friendly and helpful.
Cons: The hotel is around a 10 minute drive away from the centre (however the hotel do provide free hourly shuttles in the evening). The hotel was quite expensive for an inexpensive country. There were quite a few insects in the room, but it probably couldn't be avoided considering the location.
9,6 Excellent
Pros: 1. Cost efficient, one third of the price of Sofitel. 2. Very kind and helpful staff 3. Spacious and well decorated room. 4. Good mountain view 5. Good food 6. Nice swimming pool
Cons: Not really

Cons: A little bit of a walk to town
6,3 Good
Pros: Staff were mostly friendly and attentive
Cons: The air conditioning wasn’t cold enough, with a noisy sound as well; the bathroom door wasn’t properly installed with water leaked out after shower; it’s not practical to keep asking for the WiFi password

Cons: Bitten by mosquitoes in the room at night despite good aircon!

Pros: Scenery, room facility, staff friendliness.
Cons: Airport transfer should be included in room rate.

Pros: The hotel must surely have one of the best locations in the whole of Luang Prabang, with panoramic views of the Mekong River from the restaurant and many of the hotel suites. The gardens are very tranquil and the free shuttle service into town very convenient.
Cons: Whilst the room was attractively decorated, the bed was rather hard and the decorative wooden frame noisy even when sitting on it. Other than that the room was fine.

Pros: Location is fine but when traveling in May you have a lot of air pollution due to the farmers burning their land (grey skies). I would recommend to go another time of the year.
