Pros: Very dog friendly which was great. The breakfast was very nice. The room was clean.
Cons: Not a spa hotel! It has a pool (which is like a small community swimming baths), and a ‘pop up’ outside hot tub, but there isn’t a ‘spa’. False advertising. The evening staff in the bar weren’t very attentive. We were waiting for a while to be served.

Pros: Good location for visiting west side Lake District , great friendly staff and good food at a reasonable price
Cons: Nothing
8,0 Excellent
Pros: Staff were amazing and friendly. They could not be faulted at all. Looked after my mums dog bringing her water when we were in the lounge having a drink. They also brought her some beef when she was attacked by another dog. Mum locked herself out of her room and was panicky and upset. They were so lovely to her. We returned to this property as the staff were so lovely.
Cons: Last year the property was like a Santa’s grotto all decorated for Christmas. It was another of the reasons we took mum. We were bitterly disappointed that there were very little decorations this year. We understand the property is in the process of being taken over. We hope the new owners will take heed and decorate the place next year. We heard a few people commenting about this issue.
10,0 Excellent
Pros: Authentic, traditional coaching inn with cosy, homely atmosphere. Best cooked breakfast I have had for a long time. Excellent!
Cons: Nothing
7,1 Good
Pros: We’ve stayed here a few times now because; The staff are fabulous! Will the bar man, particularly. He has great people and management skills. The bar is wonderful, quirky and intimate. The food is great and the rooms are comfortable.
Cons: This modest country house has oodles of potential but this year unfortunately are old fave, has lost its sparkle. We booked to stay the weekend before Christmas Eve expecting to be greeted with an abundance of Christmas spirit, fairy lights and nostalgics tunes, only to be very disappointed. Other than a few fake glitter Poinsettias there had been no investment in Christmas this year, which was quite sad to see and impacted our experience negatively. Here’s hoping the new management invest in the staff, hotel, business and Christmas!
10,0 Excellent
Pros: Easy to settle in for a bit of relaxation, quiet and great food at the end of November when the night hours are long. Very relaxed atmosphere. The Pheasant is warm, comfy and a fabulously dry rosé from the bar was a fine thing. Loved the crisps! Being a big listener to Radio 4 and also a keen possessor of several Roberts’ radios, I loved the radio on the bedside cabinet. Bathroom facilities were very good. Lovely shower and products. Our whole experience was extremely enjoyable and we shall return before long.
Cons: No comment here
8,3 Excellent

Pros: A one night stopover on route to visit relatives......Reception staff could not do enough and gave us a free upgrade and even slotted us in the overbooked restaurant... Superb area and excellent hotel a very enjoyable experience and without doubt will return... nice and friendly....
10,0 Excellent
Pros: Breakfast very very good
5,0 Okay
Pros: The staff are friendly and helpful; the breakfast was good.
Cons: Noisy room - the noise from the surprisingly busy road outside was to be expected, although we hadn't anticipated the succession of delivery trucks clattering their goods about from 0630 under our window, or what sounded like a metal bucket being wheeled around outside our door at the same time. I, at only 6ft tall, had to lie diagonally in the bed because of the footboard. The bathroom basin waste was leaking. The bedroom bin contained rubbish from the previous guest.
8,0 Excellent
Pros: The room was excellent especially the bathroom. The staff were all helpful and everything with a smile. At first the Hotel was like Tardis but once you found your room, because the signage was easy to follow, even slightly intoxicated, thanks to the staff I very much enjoyed my one night stay.
10,0 Excellent
Pros: Lovely warm and clean. Nice staff

Pros: Right in the centre of town excellent restaurant attached and pubs close by. Lovely building.staff swooped is to a ground floor room at no extra charge as too many stairs for me.

Pros: Breakfast good selection and well prepared
Cons: Cold room upon arrival but warmed up later.
2,5 Mediocre
Pros: Nothing and it was that bad that I won’t book through booking.com again incase I end up in this situation. We very nearly left at 3.30 in the morning when we still couldn’t get any sleep because of how cold it was and the only thing that stopped us was the fact that it was so out of the way, the roads to any type of main road would be pitch black
Cons: Everything from the unhelpful/creepy owner to the rundown state and Baltic temperature in the room
