Catania hotels near Teatro Massimo Bellini

Pros: Excellent location above all and very close to a guarded parking lot with very reasonable prices. There is a shared kitchen all tenants can use that is equiped with everythind one might need.

Cons: The room was clean, but not the cleanest you can get. Not to the point that bothers you, but to the point you notice.

Pros: Location is very central. The bathroom is big. In the breakfast you can choose one very delicious pastry and a hot drink, but for us it was enough, because the pastry was big and full of stuffing.

Cons: The air conditioner was loud. After we checked out of the b&b the host asked us to rate them with 10.

Pros: Location was perfect, the room was ok and ac worked perfectly.

Pros: if you want to be in the centre of town this is the place to be. Very close to restaurants bars and shops. There is a small shared kitchen where you can cook a meal or make coffee.

Cons: Parking on the street is a crime. You can park your car a five minutes walk from the appartment. This is a secured parking.

Pros: Great location. It was really helpful to simply have own key for entry and exit when you like. Rooms were spacious and with quiet air conditioning so you could leave it on at night and still sleep easily.

Cons: We didn’t use the shared kitchen space.

Cons: i had asked in advance if it was a problem when we arrive at 1am because our plane arrived late and was told it was no problem. when we arrived we were asked to pay 14€ "city tax" by the receptionist. we saw online that city tax was only 1 to 1,50€ per person, so we didn't want to pay it, because we weren't told about that in advance. the receptionist was very insistant and then called someone (the owner?) because his english was better, who said the 10 euro were an extra fee for our late check in and only the 4 euro was city tax. but that there was a problem with the water so we could talk about that in the morning. in the morning someone had texted me on whatsapp if everything was ok. at the reception they again wanted the money from us and then we again talked on the phone and were told we only had to pay the 4 euro because of the problem with the water (that was leeking out of underneath the shower). after we had left he asked me to leave a 10 point review here, which unfortunatly i cannot. long story short: if you charge for late check in, please put that on your website + inform your guests about it before they arrive, espically if they ask you if a late arrival is a problem.

Pros: Friendly staff, hotel on a walking distance from monumental and shopping areas. Lots of fun places to have dinner and a drink nearby. Very clean and in well condition. For a fee, you can get your car in a private parking. Good breakfast selection.

Pros: The room was spacious and the bed comfortable. A tiny bit of street noise outside that seemed to fade at a reasonable time. The check in and staff were friendly and helped set up a taxi at fixed rate for our airport trip the next morning. He was also keen to inform me about Best Western discounts and points in future. For a small hotel and breakfast room the breakfast was really great with the added bonus of Sicily's classic fresh granita with brioche. I would have lingered longer in there if we had the time. The price was excellent value, perfect for one night stay or more, depending on your needs.

Cons: It was great to have coffe/tea making in the room with kettle, however there appeared not to be any milk packets amongst others such as sugar and honey. The other thung that appears common in Sicily is the excessive use of plastic. The cups offered for the hot drinks were styrofoam which is unpleasant to drink from and wasteful. The plastic spoon offered had begun to melt in my tea as I stirred in the sugar. Please offer real cups for coffee/tea and metal spoons and help to not make more waste in your island and country. For some reason we had trouble with the safe in the room. Staff came to help and then it worked. Of course when they left and we tried again, it didn't work. Who knows why. Unlucky. There was no iron in the room but I'm guessing they would find one if needed.

Pros: A nice little hotel in a quiet location. The most extraordinary feature of this hotel is an excellent breakfast for a mere 3 euro!! Clean and quite spacious room with a big balcony. Comfortable bed. Very helpful and smiling staff. Highly recommended.

Pros: The hotel looks very new, nice lobby and remodeled rooms and bathrooms. The room was very small, the location was great, as long as you walk left when you get out of the hotel (if you go right you'll find lots of hookers, waiting, sitting on plastic chairs, i'm not joking). Great restaurants within 1 block, friendly staff.

Pros: The staff is amazing!! So friendly, professional and accomodating (Stefania especially went out of her way to better our stay). When we asked to switch to a better room, they agreed immediatly. The rooms are extremely comfortable. The breakfast is made with fresh and good quality goods. The hotel is in walking distance from the center, the shopping streets, the nightlife and some very good restaurants! Also, note for those of you that arrive with a car that it is cheaper to park on the street in front of the hotel than in on of the parking lots nearby (You need to pay in a parking meter)

Cons: The rooms are smaller than advertised. Although the rooms are clean, when my shoes went under the bed we found out that they do not clean there. Although the breakfast is very good and made with fresh ingredients, the assortment of foods available is quite small for a 4-star hotel. The hotel is situated and a street that may be to frightening at night, especially for women traveling alone.

Pros: The welcome on arrival and departure was courteous and friendly. We arrived late and when we asked for advice on where we could eat, we were provided with a recommendation for a local restaurant which was well made. The hotel itself is quirky and has some stunning architecture and is brilliantly located in the centre of Catania. Not far to get to from the airport either.

Cons: Breakfast was not the best experience. Teapots that had no lids, food that was cold and congealed, options limited. But … I wasn't there for the breakfast so this didn't matter that much.

Cons: Broken lights, broken mini bar, broken sink. Room was run down, staff sullen and unfriendly. No help with broken facilities. A three night stay not long enough for them to get anything done. Staff at breakfast looked suicidal. Not a great experience all round. Only good thing is the location, close to everything in catania.

Cons: The two ladies who greeted us when we checked in were not friendly at all and laughed at my name when I checked in. ( I have a long name) It is not what I would expect at any hotel. I would suggest cultural training is definately needed for both of them as they came across very ignorant.

Pros: A nice hotel property located in a central area close walking distance to everything. The room we had was very spacious and clean. Only stayed one night, so did not have to have any room service or cleaning. No issues with the room. The breakfast was pretty good.

Cons: Aircon doesn't work too well, our room never got to a comfortable temp. Wifi very bad, can barely get any signals in our room, pillow far too soft and flat as if they are being used for years. no tea or coffee making facilities, I asked for a kettle which in other places I have stayed I would have gotten one but they don't supply at all. We also had a very bad experience with the taxi that the reception called for us, a long story but basically we were told one price at the time of book got charged double when we were getting off the taxi and when we complained we were given tons of lies and then almost indicating us as a lier rather. I'm sure the hotel will have their own side of story whether true or not but I just want to flag the fact to other readers.

Pros: Excellent location, Luigi on the reception desk was exceptionally helpful and even arranged to send on the clothes I'd left to our next hotel in Taormina! We were offered a choice of room and selected a small but well equipped and comfortable room with delightful french windows and balcony. We were on the side of the hotel and this turned out to be quiet. I'd advise you to avoid the front of the hotel at the weekend unless you are going to be out yourself partying late (it's a bit of a gathering place late on in the evening).

Cons: The breakfast service was not replenished - we went there half an hour before it closed and it was pretty sparse to say the least, but the coffee and croissants were excellent. It's probably best to get their early. Our bathroom was a little on the snug side which may be a problem for some, but then we did have a choice of larger rooms had we wanted them.

Cons: We were given a room with a view of the air conditioning system and a wall. Staff were not sympathetic to our situation as we had been robbed earlier of all our luggage. The lady reception was rude and unfriendly.

Pros: Loveeed the location, you can easily walk to Piazza del Duomo. There are lots of shops nearby, including the most delicious I've ever eaten in Italy. The host let us leave our luggage in the morning to check in later. She was easy to reach and patient. The apartment is well equipped and the WIFI not bad. This was a super deal and great value for money! Overall we liked our stay and would book this accommodation again.

Cons: The extra bed was a tiny couch out of which you could pull a foam mattress to set it on the floor. It was kind of odd and looked incomfortable. It was actually not too bad and the person who slept on it said he had a good sleep, but if you are very tall or fat you might have a problem with it.

Pros: The place is located on a small and quiet street that is 10 minutes from the Duomo and about 7 minutes from Castello Ursino. Very spacious room with feather-fill duvet covers and I really liked the interior. The communication with staff was easy and they are very helpful. We even used their services (Etna Experience) to organise a guided tour to Etna.
