Pros: A very nice breakfast. Bacon more for the europeans than the english. Staff very helpful. If you arrive by car, best to book the parking in advance otherwise it is on street parking which can be a bit tricky. Catania is an old city and has many more cars and scooters than it can really handle and that is reflected by the standards of driving with the locals taking the 'dive for the gap' technique. Hotel is about a 10-15 minute walk into the centre of town

Pros: The really helpful staff. we had booked parking for our Porsche but the steep angle of the entrance mae it impossable to get it in. So the Manager and the Concierge went out and sorted some planks of wood so we could get the car in. This also involved stopping the traffic so we could slowly reverse the car in over the planks and through the narrow entrance into the garage. In the evening the guy on reception pointed into the direction of an amazing local restaurant that was packed with locals and was amazing value for money. All the meat was freshly barbecued and included the local specialaties including spring onions wrapped in bacon and horse steaks and sausages. The wine was excellent and really cheap as well. The 3 euro breakfast at the hotel is definately worth having.

5,0 Okay
Pros:
Cons: The property was quite old, and the attitude of the staffs were not good yet the price we paid was quite too high for the value.

Pros: Position, staff.
Cons: Breakfast wasn’t extremely cured, at 8:40 bacon and eggs were finished and ace juice was sour. Room needed to be aired well since it smelt a bit of damp. Damp spots on the sealing and in the bathroom.

Pros: Location, room space
Cons: Some small renovation works should be carried on in the rooms to bring the hotel to the next level (I.e. painting)
6,3 Good
Pros: Personal was nice.
Cons: Extremely bad window isolation. You can hear everything from the street. I booked breakfast, but then they told me it is not included.
4,0 Okay
Pros: location
Cons: the hotel is almost run down. It desperately needs to be renovated
4,6 Okay
Pros: At the breakfast time you can get free glass of cava. Kept our luggages free of charge because of the late flight Staff while complaining putted some efforts to fix it Felt safe even the homeless people were sleeping almost by the door of the entrance of it
Cons: I have booked the room with the mountain Etna view and a balcony. I have payed more money just to have exactly that room for the very special occasion. They have upgraded me for the suit, but it was just a room with the ugly street view, just a bigger than regular. If I would have a chance and I would just cancel it. Beds were absolutely uncomfortable and the wallpapers were falling apart. Room carpets seems were cleaned properly long time ago and I started having dust allergy (I have small asthma). I am not even talking about dusty curtains. Reception - absoltely useless. When we have asked for the nice beach close by we were guided to some black sand beach with big waves, which is 15 min away. We have walked around 2 hours searching, but the ones around were just rocks or just kinda sandish with a fresh fish seller and come cats around. After making a pit stop at the coffee place and checking google we figured out that the nice one is 25 min drive from where we were. If you ever decide to stay in here just know that reception doesn't know much or doesn't really care. Breakfast for the value of money was absolutely dissapointing as for example coffee of one of our days was finished (more than 1 hour before the breakfast has been finished) as some other things. The staff was just relaxing and having their breakfast just by the side of the guests. Not a good selection of vegetables, just 4 kinds - two types of low quality letuce, worse ever seen tomatoes in Catania and something more what I don't remember. Even boiled eggs were not fresh!!! A bit of fruit, some juice, wafles and so on. No avena flakes, just kellogs style stuff. Looks good from far away. Would highly recomend places for food around the hotel. You will be surprised how good it is comparing to what you are getting in a hotel. Shower in a room was barelly alive as no water preasure and it takes some time to regulate it, sink was clogged.
6,0 Good
Pros:
Cons: Room condition not very good - mainly wall coverings peeling off, worn and just a bit 'tired". Breakfast very good, dinner was very poor. Bar service excellent.
8,3 Excellent
Pros: Spacious room, bathroom comfortable, breakfast good, all staff very helpful. Great Location and car parking and guest pick up access was very convenient. The overall hotel building was quite grand however, generally needs restoration throughout.
Cons: Carpet and furniture throughout was very dated and threadbare. Elevators not safe, due to door closure not sensitive to obstruction either by a person or object. Room/Door was squeaky, Light fittings were loose and coming away from the walls. Again, the building is quite grand and is in dire need of updating to it's former glory.
