Pros: Apartment was spacious and had good facilities. Positioned right in the centre of the old town within easy walking distance to most attractions. Hosts were extremely helpful.

Pros: Convenient location, good breakfast, comfortable and stylish room. Nice view from the window. Stuff is very helpful and friendly.

Pros: Wonderful hosts, fantastic breakfast with many vegan options (host Francesco is vegan). Room was big & bright. Location excellent.

Cons: A bit noisy from street noise, passers-by, motorcycles, even though room was on 3rd floor and not facing the street. Woken up several times. A little soundproofing would help. Minor things: couldn't get TV to work. Had to search for extra blankets in middle of night. Hostess "hovered" a bit.

Pros: Small family type B&B, nice persons, Great breakfast. Helped on traveling.

Pros: The atmosphere in this place was amazing,typical italian house with an extreme interior. The owner of the house showed great hospitality. Delicious breakfast in italian kitchen,good location and Perfect communication :)

Pros: Very sweet hosts, great “old style” appartement, full of charm, 5 minutes walk from the duomo, and close to the airport shuttle bus stop and car rental agencies. Breakfast was fantastic, a bit too gargantuan for someone who usually does not eat in the morning, but this is NOT a complaint! :-) Great value for the money!

Cons: Very small detail, but curtains on the windows of the balcony did not allow to “darken” the room. Gave me a great view of the sunrise though! :-)

Pros: The B&B is located in the old section of Cantania. We enjoyed the location and its proximity to key visitor areas. We had booked a double room however this room was under repair and the owner "upgraded" us to the terrace suite. The terrace suite is decorated with a mix of materials from India and Europe to good effect. The patio with its greenery is lovely and would be great in summer.

Cons: That the Wi-Fi was not working. Although the owner indicated that this issue was outside her control as there had been a storm creating service disruption. There is a lift for the luggage. However the lift does not take luggage up to the suite with terrace. For the terrace suite you have to remove luggage from the lift and take it up a further two flights of narrow steps. The shower recess is particularly small & tight.

Cons: Teresa the owner was rude and unfair, charged us for an extra night that we spent in a different b&b. The room smelled bad, no shampoo in the shower and we didn’t get fresh towels. The breakfast and coffee were stale and disgusting. They charged extra for parking and there was no WiFi reception. The owner didn’t let us turn on the air condition and the small refrigerator in the room was broken. the bed was rough and uncomfortable.

Pros: We had such a fantastic stay at this nicely appointed, smoothly run, and wonderfully atmospheric property in the heart of Catania. Teresa is a superb and skillful host, who went out of her way to make our stay pleasant and memorable. We even got a free upgrade, which we didn’t request but for which we were very grateful. Each morning Teresa served a different breakfast - her homemade pastries and jams are out of this world. Can’t say enough great things about this old world charmer of a B&B. We’ll definitely plan to come back.

Pros: This is a stately band b with gorgeous rooms overlooking a cafe filled pedestrian street. Wonderful owners, great staff, nice breakfast and perfectly located.

Pros: We liked everything about Crocifera. The central location meant we were walking distance from the sights we wanted to see and close to restaurants and bars. The pedestrian street was quiet at night and our room was spacious with excellent facilities. We loved the breakfast and the company of other guests around the big table. Teresa arranged a great trip to Mt Etna for us and other guests. A wonderful host!

Pros: Breakfast was tutto bene. The B&B was within walking distance of the language school I attended. There were adequate ristorante close by. Teresa assisted me when I had questions, She was there when I arrived and was there when I departed even though it was only 5AM

Pros: Our stay with Teresa and Marco was divine! The attention to detail and the love of and care for the beautiful things in the house is truly special in today’s world and we very much appreciated all we saw and experienced.

We were only staying to be close to the airport to fly out the next morning yet we had a great look around the city as we were so close to the centre of things. Plenty of things to do within a short distance and lots of options to eat that wonderful Sicilian food. Great olde-world Hotel that was perfect.

Pros: The location is central and the view is very beautiful. The staff was friendly and helpful. For parking we were redirected to a nearby safe location. I recommend parking because I had no problems although I forgot the bag in the car. Parking was paid.

Pros: We had a warm welcome from all the very friendly and helpful staff on our return visit to B&B Opera. They provided us with gluten free breakfast options and we enjoyed the omelettes. Great central location, with many good local restaurants (B&B offer recommendations) and in easy walking distance to the station, bus station and to many places of interest. It's our 'home away from home' in Catania and we look forward to a return visit.

Pros: Constantino has given us great recommendations about Catania. The Breakfast was excellent- and Jane the caretaker was extraordinary kind and caring. Overall, this was a beautiful stay with my three children in Catania.

Cons: The authoritarian attitude of Constantino, it is advertized as a B & B, ( a comfortable home away from home) , but its run under strict control. Its not a place I would go back to.

Cons: The room was so hot we couldn't sleep. The AC in the room was set up to 16 degrees throught the whole night but it felt like there was no cooling at all and we could barely sleep due to the heat.

Pros: Everything was great! Carmelo is great! He helps with any issue, gives great advice, tells history, and take care of his guests! Hi recomended!

Pros: Very central location, near all of the main attractions. Anyone good on their feet can easily travel about Catania from this location. If you have a car Carmelo is excellent at helping you find a location to park. Carmelo gave out his personal contact information so that you could reach him for help at any time.

Pros: Mr. Carmelo and his brother with the staff Christian were very helpful and nice. The location of B&B is more than perfect ( city centre) . With all my heart we recomend this accomodation.

Pros: Location super central! Extremely professional and welcoming owner. Clean and large room and bathroom with personality. Good price. Very quiet aircon that you control yourself. Cool UNESCO listed building. Lots of charm.

Cons: Very noisy - old building, could hear neighbour's every word, and the fan, flush, footsteps etc. from rooms adjacent and above. Also people coming and going outside my door. A few times it was so loud I thought somebody was actually IN my room. But street noise was really limited, and with earplugs you would probably be fine.

Pros: We stayed at Gattopardo last year and were very pleased so went again this year. They have put in new bathrooms and updated old ones beautifully. It’s full of vintage charm and modern conveniences in a fabulous location.

And also few good restaurants and bars are just around the corner. Mrs. Melina was lovely and with her husband took great care of us. We absolutely recommend the place.

Pros: The hotel was in the core of the city close to the fish market which alone makes Catania worth visiting. The hotel breakfast was glorious on the roof terrace. Every staff person was sweet and helpful. I loved hearing the singers from the little cafe around the corner.

Cons: Depends on one’s point of view. There are sixty steps up from the street entry to the floor of the hotel. Not for the faint of foot but it didn’t bother me.

Lorenza, the owner was very helpful and answered all our questions and helped us all over. Room services, cleanliness and breakfast were great. Good value for money.

Pros: I was spending the day alone in Catania and am very glad I found this place. It was very homely, the bedroom and bathroom were both very large, clean and comfortable. It is close to all of the main things to do in Catania as well. Everything I needed!

Pros: If you want smooth grey & white & a feeling you could be anywhere in the world, this is not for you. Lorenza welcomed us with a smile into her fascinating house (a former silk factory). Hand-painted furniture, old cinema posters (from her grandfather‘s cinema at the foot of mount Etna), a lava sink .... a home full of love. Comfortable bed, good breakfast, great location with quirky bars & cool jazz. We won‘t forget this place.

Pros: Finding hotel in catania is hard. There are so called hotels but actually people homes converted into a hotel. This is an actual hotel and as per the comparison in Catania it’s a good one.

Cons: You should not charge your guests for parking. That’s hotels property. Not a rented space. And check in should be faster. Room service menu not available as per mentioned timings.

Cons: Unable to control the temperature of my room. What's the point of having A/C controls in the room if they do not work and are controlled by reception? Totally unacceptable for a supposed 4 star hotel. I must have called reception about 5-7 times because my room was too warm. I kept getting told that the temperature for my room specifically was lowered which is untrue. I chose this hotel because of its proximity to the airport, I was hoping for a good night's sleep and didn't get it. Extremely annoyed.

Pros: The hotel is close to the airport, less than 10 min by car. The staff was super nice as well! Ok breakfast with several cake options.

Cons: Neighborhood is not so nice/friendly. Hotel is advertised as being a ‘beach front’ hotel, but this is an area were the beach is gated, lots of fenced parts and we could not really get to the actual beach. You also have to cross the highway to get to the beach. Another note: this is a dog beach, as per signage. Not very nice. Not a place with little umbrellas and cocktails.

Pros: Turned up quite late - treated politely. Very nice breakfast, espresso coffee on request. Bed comfortable, clean sheets, clean floor, shower worked. Close to nice beach. Convenient for airport.

Cons: Near airport runway and flight paths. Very noisy. Very bad public transport from there. It was on the beach, but you would have to pay for towels and beach chairs anyway.
