Cons: We arrived to a junior suite, which was located just feet above someone's wedding. Making it very awkward to go out on to our small balcony. It was a small room and nothing like the photos. It looked more of a standard room not a Junior suite. One quick call to reception and thankfully we were upgraded to a much nicest room. The original room was not worth £276 and we were very disheartened when we walked in. The car park was a nightmare. We got locked in along with another driver as it wasn't clearly stated as full and you could not get out without a code! We rang and waited by the barrier for over 10 minutes before someone came out and let us out. No clear instruction that you have to check in first and pay before entering the car park. Plus a Full sign is located at the very bottom of the entrance which you have no chance of seeing at all as its lower than your car bumper. Also doesn't help when people have left their cars on the round about infront of the entrance to check in. After this very stressful experience we parked in the public carpark opposite and had to pay £24 for 24 hours. Not cheap. But after 1.5 hours driving, we were just relived to get out the car.

During our stay, we found the rooms very good value for the money, clean and the warm colours of the decor very relaxing.
Nothing was too much trouble, for the reception staff and the bar staff during our visit.
We will certainly stay in a Future Inns hotel again in the future.

Cons: The noise( rm 217) could hear all the revellers in the street through out the night, vehicles reversing noises. Inside all through the night a motor in the room kept coming on and and switching followed by funny noises. The room was very dry, i drank 12 glasses of water during the course of the night. I could hear the sound of a television from a neighbouring room. This was the worst night i have had in decades. I have had a stroke recently, followed by a non fault RTA, also I'm having a my flat refurbished, I decided to treat myself to a deserved quite pampered weekend, sadly this didn't happen and i had book out after the first night, so i could go home and get some sleep. I have stayed here before and had fantastic rooms, this time very disappointed and over priced. The room safe is not disabled friendly, cannot use badly positioned, far to low.

Cons: Having stayed at other Hilton hotels, the breakfast at Cardiff let the hotel down, slightly. The restaurant was clean and everything was accessible but felt like sitting in a school classroom with the type of table and chairs, which were noisy when chairs being pushed in and out. The bar lounge was plush and we expected this to follow through to the restaurant. The cooked breakfast had everything you could want and only the sausages could have been better quality. No-one to serve the fried eggs which were at the back of the sausages, bacon etc and customers could not reach for the server to help themselves. Bottled water in the rooms would have been nice as glasses available but no water and do not drink tap water. I know this could have been ordered but for the price we paid, a couple of bottles would have been nice on the welcome tray along with welsh biscuits as a nice touch.

Cons: This hotel is never a 4 star hotel, in my view it struggles to be a 3 star hotel. The room was far too small for 4 stars. There was nowhere to put the luggage apart from the floor, which then got in the way PLASTIC cups for tea or coffee !!! The bed was the most uncomfortable bed I have ever slept in in a hotel, It sagged in the middle and every time you moved it made a horrible creaking sound which woke the other person up, Which meant we were awake for half the night. You had to have the air conditioning on all night, because if you opened the window, all you could hear was people shouting. There was only a desk chair in the room, no easy chairs to relax in, therefore you had to lay on the bed. Needless to say we will not be returning to this hotel.

Pros: The room was very clean & spacious. We were there for a celebration and were left a surprise of tasty macarons by the staff, a lovely touch! Our room was on the top floor, quiet and comfortable. The bathroom was in excellent standards. We forgot to put our "Do Not Disturb" sign on the door, so had housekeeping knocking quietly, but after saying we were still there, they dropped off towels and left us be. The hotel is a short 5-8 minute walk to the centre, where there's plenty of bars & restaurants. The new bar/restaurant they have there is great too! Wide selection of spirits and beers, the food smelled delicious although we didn't have any this time! Very friendly service, would definitely come again.

Cons: The bathroom door was so hard to close you had to use a lot of force and it was very noisy. If you had had to have closed it in the middle of the night you would have woken a few people up. The pillows on the bed were very uncomfortable. Very lumpy and 1 was kind of stitched in half which was very odd and not nice to sleep on. I stayed in this hotel for 3 months solid on 2009 while working in Cardiff and absolutely loved it. It has however gone downhill since then. The toaster in the breakfast room was so slow and doesn't brown your toast.... at all. The cooked breakfast was only just warm and all of the fried eggs were more like hard boiled eggs. No running yolks at all. When I made the booking I put a note on the booking stating that my husband and I were celebrating our 4th wedding Anniversary that day and nothing was said. We stayed at the Radisson Blu in Cardiff last year and received a free upgraded room and a plate of delicious goodies were sent to our room 20 minutes after checking in straight from the kitchen, as a Happy Anniversary!!!! I certainly didn't expect anything but an acknowledgment would have been nice.

Cons: Trying to find the hotel car park was an absolute nightmare!! I was given a map to find the car park on arrival, after half an hour going 'round n around I eventually had to ask a member of staff to get into the car and direct me! What they had failed to inform me that certain roads were closed due to road works, and I therefore couldn't have followed the map given!?? Arrived back at the hotel feeling very frustrated. Later that evening I went to the restaurant for dinner, which I had to wait at least half an hour for the food to arrive at the table (I was the only person they were cooking for??), and when the food did arrive it was extremely dissapointing, over cooked dry chicken, with over spiced noodles. The restaurant manager did remove the cost of this meal from my bill when I spoke to him about it, which I appreciated. Finally, although I know hotels are the most expensive places to eat & drink, I was absolutely astounded that the cost of 1 Magnum ice cream from the receiption area, was priced at 4 pounds 50 pence???!!!! This REALLY is CORPORTATE GREED!!!, and this hotel chain, should hang their heads in shame for insulting their customers. Won't be staying with this chain of hotels again.

Cons: Very bad set up for wheelchair accessibility, my Dad was left sitting out in the rain on the path numerous times due to staff not being available to let him in the lift. Very slow to respond to bell, people had to go get staff every time. Exits were also locked at night so very dangerous for wheelchair exit. Also I had to cancel one room, six months in advance, hotel said booking.com wouldn’t refund and booking.com said hotel wouldn’t do there was a lot of unnecessary back and forth and I was still charged for three extra nights.

Cons: Breakfast was included in our stay but the restaurant staff was totally unprepared for a full hotel due to the rugby match. The buffet breakfast was empty when we got there (about a half hour before the end). Staff brought more out but it disappeared because others were waiting. And then we were told there would not be more because it was to close to the end of the time. Dirty tables were not cleared. Customers were having to push other peoples plates to the side so they would have a table to sit at. Even coffee and tea were unavailable. :-(

Pros: A good hotel for the money we paid. We had everything we needed. The room was clean, the shower functioned well. The staff were very cheeful and very helpful. We liked the attractive lady at the reception. Breakfasts were very good. The staff were quick. There was an elderly lady who waited on us, she was smiling all the time and even sang in a low voice and made the atmosphere very homelike, she was very agile and adroit. Free WiFi was excellent.

I'm not too picky, I usually camp in a tent, sleep on the ground when I travel, so I'm not looking for luxury

The location is great, and I can imagine it'a good value for money most of the time but because everything was so full up the weekend we stayed we paid quite a lot of money for the experience.
Cons: It's terrible: falling apart, pretty dirty and needs a lot of work done to it.

Pros: A good hotel for the money we paid. We had everything we needed. The room was clean, the shower functioned well. The staff were very cheeful and very helpful. We liked the attractive lady at the reception. Breakfasts were very good. The staff were quick. There was an elderly lady who waited on us, she was smiling all the time and even sang in a low voice and made the atmosphere very homelike, she was very agile and adroit. Free WiFi was excellent.
Cons: A steep staircase and no lift. A notice that you couldn't invite friends. Otherwise your friends and you yourselves will be asked to leave the hotel. No refund will be made. No excuse will be accepted. However, we had an impression that somebody brought friends. They had a noisy party. Fortunately it was over before 11 pm. The street is very noisy with a significant amount of beggars and shouting people. Some of them very definitely drunk. Too noisy.
