Please read this whole thing- I hate to be one to complain but this resort is ABSOLUTELY nothing like how It is described in the reviews. I was in Cancun for 5 days staying at breathless resort in which my boyfriend and I decided to extend the stay for 2 more days and stay over at the royal Solaris. I ONLY booked this hotel because the reviews said It was great and an 8.3 out 10. This is WRONG AND I CANT BELIEVE ANY REVIEW ABOUT THIS PLACE WAS A GOOD ONE. My boyfriend and I checked in to this hotel in which we only stayed at for 2 nights. When we first checked in, we went down to the pool and left some stuff in our room. When we went back up to our room the key was not working and SOMEONE ELSE was in OUR ROOM stating that It was their room. Turns out this hotel checked in a different couple into the same room. Mind you, MY PASSPORTS AND ALL MY MONEY AND VALUABLES were in this room with a COMPLETE STRANGER. Thank god all my belongings were still there, but imagine the seriousness of the situation if that stranger took all my things and left? The only “compensation” the hotel could give me was an upgraded room. I thought about leaving the hotel and checking into a new one that’s how on edge I was. But It was later in the day and It was too much money to book a new hotel. ORELSE I WOULD HAVE LEFT. They upgraded us to a new room which was located ONTOP of a construction site. I could not even enjoy my sleep!!!!! I couldn’t even relax after the beach in my room and speak with my boyfriend because I couldn’t even hear him over the banging of hammers and drilling. The room REEKED of paint I was breathing in fumes. I had to keep the windows and balcony doors open at all times. There was a cabinet in the bathroom in which you open and it’s all pipes (not safe at all) and looking down, you literally see the construction site and people working RIGHT BELOW US. It really was the worst experience of my life.
Coming from the breathless resort which was phenomenal to this resort where we expected to be alittle more relaxed for our last 2 nights, was complete night and day. The reviews say there’s 5 restaurants. There’s 3 lol and 1 was closed. The reviews say the food is great. This is the worst food I’ve ever had in my life. Me and my boyfriend had to hop on a bus and go into town to have a good meal. You pay for all inclusive and everything’s terrible. I can not even emphasize how bad this hotel experience was. The pool and the beach was beautiful but really not a relaxing vacation at all. I thought something was going to go wrong every minute! Please do not believe the reviews of this place. It may be nice for families and older couples but for people actually looking to relax and have decent food and actually have great costumer service DO NOT COME HERE. When I’m mexico most people do not drink the tap water. They didn’t even have bottled water? Unless they stocked It in the fridge in your room. Other then that no bottled water at the pool or anywhere else. I had to drink soda the whole time here. I will never be coming back. Thanks for coming to my ted talk!
Very friendly and helpful staff everything was great!!
I loved everything about my stay. The staff was so friendly. Alejandra in housekeeping was amazing and so helpful. The waiters were friendly and always looking for ways to serve. Room was great. Will be booking again.
The guest services could have been more helpful, I asked about how to book a shuttle for my return to the airport and they told me I had to call the shuttle service. When I called the shuttle service they told me they have an office in the hotel.
Not great taste Weird food combinations
The hotel was very fun! It was our first experience at an all-inclusive resort and we had a great time. The rooms were lovely too - very clean and great views. The food was better than expected. Lots of fun activities to do, too.
A little pricey - but we got a good deal when compared to a lot of other resorts in the area! Some of the facilities, including the lobby area, were a little bit dated.
