Flight was delayed by 2 hours. No entertainment on the 737-800NG. Somewhat squeezy.

Pros: "The ground staff at Emirates check-in counter who so kindly changed my seating to isle as requested and updated my Skywards membership nbr on their data base. It enabled me to board the flight amongst the 1st and business class passengers."

Cons: "Starting from boarding this flight was a problem. we had a infant(18 month old) sleeping in our arms as the flight was at 3:30 Am and was delayed by an hour. There was not priority boarding for elderly and people with kids. We had to wait in queue holding our carry ons as well as the kid. As we were last in boarding it was hard to find a closest spot for our carry on. Crew would not respond for about 10 mins or so( not during take off or landing) this was during mid flight when there was no turbulence(seat belt sign was off). We asked for a veg meal instead of baby food as our kid eats solids and she does not like instant baby food's. We requested this when we booked her ticket , she was not even given food luckily we had some milk powder and water bottle. Really bad experience with Emirates"

The seats did not have foot rest. If there is no foot rest you can’t sleep.
Was worse than a low cost carrier. Experience needs to be better for the price paid.

Cons: "Low cost airline so they charge you for everything. I had to pay $159 to check a bag for a 1.5 hour flight. That nearly doubled the cost of the original ticket. By the time they charge you for everything, you don't save any money. And they even weigh every purse, backpack, handbag, etc. at the gate and start charging customers for carry on. Don't fly with these guys. And because their customers are dissatisfied, all the employees I encountered were rude."

Pros: "My first meal offered a lamb and rice dish with carrots and currants that was most tasty, while the second meal included a nice vegetarian rice dish. They were both very good and a good introduction to the wonderful food of the Middle East."
Cons: "I had an issue with the sound on my entertainment unit that caused it to stop every time I paused a viewing. I had to exit then return to the show, which restarted where I paused it, but it was annoying. It also would have been nice to have a solitaire card game to play online. Overall, though, the variety was well thought out."

The check in staff was amazing. Best customer service! The plane was old! My entertainment on the first flight didn't work at all, in my seat or in the seat next to me. The bathroom doors were old and troublesome. One of the bathrooms, the whole sink panel was broken. Everything felt old and falling apart. The airline stewardesses were amazing and quite hospitable. When there were delays, they kept us well informed. Transit was GREAT! I wasn't sure how I would make it to my next flight in 1 1/2 hours but the security lines were short and efficient. The C gates in Addis Ababa were CROWDED! That whole space downstairs was too crowded and challenging to manuever. I usually fly Ethiopian within Africa and was interested to see how the experience would be intercontinental. Overall, I would choose it again if it was cheaper than Delta/Air France or Lufthansa/KLM. I wouldn't make it a first choice if the prices were the same because the planes are so old! The food and entertainment also weren't as good. Good selection of movies but as I mentioned, on the first flight they didn't work at all (I slept so it was okay) and the 2nd flight it was glitchy. All in all, I didn't hate it but it would be a first choice only if it's cheaper.

Cons: "Travelers should be told that Gate 2 to Kumasi will be empty when you get there and that you should go around the corner to the transit area and wait for your flight there. They should let you know that they will announce the flight from the transit area."
Pros: "Nice aircraft and comfortable seating in economy with a good selection of music and movies on the seat back entertainment. Business class was mostly empty and looked very nice and roomy. They should upgrade their frequent flyers the way other airlines do to fill those empty seats and generate the good PR that results. The food was good in my opinion, and the Ethiopian coffee is great. Affordably priced tickets was the selling point for choosing them. They are a young airline and while they go through the motions of being a modern service-oriented airline, but alas for the most part they aren't there yet."
Cons: "We've flown a few Ethiopian Air flights now and while the flight attendants are nice, they aren't always on top of things and paying attention to the needs of the passengers. Not as helpful or attentive as we're used to. Boarding is chaotic and the overnight transfer at Addis Ababa is a total mess. If you get to leave through the airport in the early morning things are relatively painless, but what a nightmare of pushing and shoving chaos when it's busy. The hotels they put you up in are mediocre at best. Last week we enjoyed a long wait for the bus ride to the hotel, cold food when we arrived, and a nice hard bed to "sleep" in. We probably won't fly Ethiopian Air if we have to overnight in Addis Ababa again. I'm willing to pay up to fly another airline and skip the overnight as it's just not worth the hassle."

Cons: "The food was bad and on the second stretch the airline did a stop over in Cairo that was not originally planned and delayed the flight by over 3 hours making me miss my connection flights and forcing me to rebuy tickets since there was no ground staff at Rome that could handle the situation. Made me end up losing 1000 usd in tickets I had to buy. Not the way I'm used to be treated as a business class costumer"
