Yes, we got a bassinet eventually, but not before we saw how mean and selfish other passengers could be pretending not to hear us and ignoring us. And no help from the crew."

But the most disappointing thing is the fact is that they LOST BOTH OF MY LUGGAGE BAGS, and the most they could offer me is $50 compensation (my belongings worth thousands of dollars) And even this I would have to claim from my “home country” which is completely unreasonable as my home country isn’t the one lost my luggage, the airlines had! Cons: "The experience from the airport to the plane to Lome was beyond troubling. If ever you are flying internationally from NYC, never fly from Newark New Jersey. Nevertheless, upon boarding the Ethiopian Airline flight to Lome that was supposed to depart at 9:15 pm, the courtesy of the flight attendants was a bit mundane. My mother and I sat on the plane for about an hour after the time of the depart before inquiring why we have no moved and the doors were closed. The flight attendant responded with, "We shall be moving shortly." The air conditioner was barely on. My mother is battling stage 3 Cancer and is an older woman so, I feared for the safety of her health in such a condition. About 30 minutes passed, and we inquired again. This time with a different flight attendant and she said she just did not know what was going on. Other people on the plane began to panic in a sense as well because like my mother and I, they too had a connecting flight to catch. The pilot did not inform the passengers of what was occurring. So, at this point, all passengers on flight ET509 had been sitting on the plane for an hour and a half. By the time we were sitting on the plane for 2 HOURS with the doors closed the pilot finally informed us that they were waiting for some paperwork. He did not apologize or give more information as to why we were sitting on the plane so long, with practically no AC, and weren't informed about when we would be pulling off. About 10 minutes later, the plane began backing up while people were still standing because they were restless with the wait especially when we had a 10-hour flight ahead of us. The pilot then got on the loudspeaker stating that we will be pulling in the air shortly and for the flight attendants to be seated. The pilot did not apologize for the inconvenience or state how long the flight would be or what time we would land in Lome, Togo. Once we were in the air, there were many safety hazards administered by both the crew and pilot. The seat belt safety information was not given, the exit areas in case of emergency were not discussed, what to do in case of an emergency, where certain equipment would be in case of illness or an emergency, and we were still not informed about the cause of the 2 hours and 15-minute delay. My mother and I consistently checked the flight tracker and it did not show the duration of our flight, our location while flying, no flight information was displayed and as hard working paying passengers we should have had all of the information and not have to continuously ask to get a slight answer. Also, I am a vegan and they did not have food for me. But there was a flight attendant who gave me extra fruit which I greatly appreciated. The flight coming back to Newark was decent, going was the major issue. I pray we are accommodated for these great inconveniences. Because to have spent almost $3,000 and receive this type of treatment is both saddening and disturbing to me."

Cons: "I was not on this flight because my previous United flight was late! So I am having to sit all from 8:00 am till 8:25 pm in the airport. I am not happy."

Pros: "All the flight crew was incredibly attentive, particularly with those with special needs. From helping them to use the facilities to getting them little extras. It was a nice thing to see - especially in a such long (14+ hrs) flight."
Cons: "The entertainment system and service carts were quite outdated. There were no visible place to charge my phone. It takes away from the strong people service."
Pros: "United staff worked with me to book a round-about itinerary on a different airline that got me to my destination within 8 hours of the original flight. Progress announcements were made at regular, predictable intervals."
Cons: "My flight was cancelled an hour after scheduled takeoff due to mechanical issues. The plane was actually repaired, but the time it took to do so exceeded the flight crew's hours. I understand the practical implications, but in the moment it did feel maddeningly bureaucratic."
Cons: "Delayed due to a late crew member. Arrived 2 hours late into O'Hare making for a very tight connection. Other than the delay, all was fine."

Pros: "United Airlines for a change did a decent job flying back to LAS unlike our flight from BUF to EWR which got canceled and we had to drive to Newark which was not only disappointing but to witness customer service uncaring even more distressing."
Cons: "We may not choose UA for our family from now on. Quite a bit of confusion even when trying to reach customer service over phone, the hold time is 15 to 20 min?"

Pros: "Great crew and flight attendants, kept us informed of everything, very helpful and prompt on all questions and requests. Movie selection was impressive. Boarding was efficient and flight even left early. Surprisingly pleasant experience in economy for a long flight."
Cons: "An hour late which made me have to run to the next gate which is not pleasant for a 70 year old with a bum knee."
Cons: "I asked the service attendant when I checked my lagage to change my seat to an aile seat. Even though there weren't anybody awaiting in line she could not be bothered, she got rid of me and asked me to do that at the gatw. By the time the gate opened there weren't any ailel seats. The service people are trained to be rude and treat all passagers as slaves. I would not fly United if I will have a different opinion."
Pros: "We arrived safely at PDX"
Cons: "We left 3 hrs late, arrived very late at night, I did not get home until 2 a.m. There was no apology. There were no plugs for computers in the back of the plane and I got stuck between a fat person to my left and a fat person in front of me who leaned their seat back as far as possible. It was hideous."
Cons: "Plane was supposed to depart at 5:30 did not depart until around 7:20!!! Had to sit on plane for almost 2 hrs!! We were NOT OFFERED anything to drink Not even water!! Jet Blue would NEVER be neglectful, they are very service oriented. Plane was full & 2 babies on board one was fussy crying at times. It was s nightmare!! I was exhausted from traveling to NYC & Philly! & the delay & lack of service was AWFUL!! Could not watch TV, bc It either connects to phone, I could not connect it or I think you had to pay! Unheard of!!!I love to watch CNN, MSNBC & Fox it makes the time fly!! Hopefully will Never have to fly United Again"
Pros: "It was nice to get free wine on the flight. Had I know what I was about to endure I likely would have had more. Honestly. I am uncertain how you can stay in business."
Cons: "The temperature in the cabin was way too cold and the excuse of a blanket is really insulting to be warm enough to sleep. The video screen was tiny and grainy. Every time the PA system was used it buzzed so whatever was being said wasn't comprehend-able. The biggest complaint was the seating room. I understand that you want to get people into more legroom seats but honestly there should be a regulation for the inhumane way you treated those of us that did not ante up more! I thought I alone have these opinions but once you get me back home, you loose my business forever. I will take my Transatlantic flights every six weeks elsewhere."

Cons: "It took pass our departure time to get people onto the plane, the plane was super delayed 8:25 turned into a little over 10, and I was super uncomfortable the whole flight. Spent the majority of my day in the airport just waiting on this flight."
Cons: "United sent out a series of delayed flight communications times that all contradicted each other. Flight updates did not give me adequate time to arrange my plans to accommodate their sporadic updates for fliget 4132, resulting in me missing my flight after paying a $95 dollar cab fare. May 1, 2017 United failed in my eyes of a loyal customer."
Cons: "Flight was delayed two hours because they were waiting on an aircraft, which happens but no one to the time to explain or apologize even when asked. An apology goes a long way when you are stuck in an airport with every restaurant closing and you're hungry and tired. Definitely only flying delta or southwest from now on."

Cons: "The airline failed to notify us of the flight cancellation. After figuring it out on my own I suffered great inconvenience because had I been notified on time I could have weighed out my alternatives."

Cons: "Did not give senior citizens who needed it any extra time to board; only disabled people. Free snack portion was extra stingy. Other airlines we fly moffer more than one tiny package! One of our party had a seat (aisle) that he could not move in once seated. Free entertainment was very stingy! Other airlines offer much more free entertainment in the way of TV."

Cons: "without notice, plane made significant shift ..about 70 degrees..... Passengers began to scream. after about 5-10 minutes, pilot announces we were 10 miles away from plane in front of us and got caught in its tail wind. I was never so frightened on an airplane as this flight."

Cons: "the plane started while there apparently was a hydraulic problem which made them decide to turn around right before the Atlantic and fly back all the way to New York in a plane that shouldn't have taken off in the first place. Flight eventually got cancelled."
Pros: "More luggage storage (overhead and under the seats) on this international flight than on domestic. Most everything else was as expected."
Cons: "The toilets smelled and were messy a few hours into it. (I was on a Korean Airlines flight recently and their toilets were always clean and nice!). The crew were mostly efficient and worked well together BUT only one (out of the 4 or 5 in our section) smiled at passengers and looked like she was actually enjoying her job. One blanket wasn't cleaned well enough."
Pros: "The crew was fantastic ! My daughter was anxious during some unexpected turbulence and she was very supportive . Movies and entertainment were good . Food , acceptable."
Cons: "The space allotted per person is ridiculous. And I upgraded to extra leg room ... What extra legroom ??"
Cons: "I was early to my flight and sent to the wrong gate. When I received the notice that the gate had been changed, I had a long way to go to get to the correct gate and limited time. Since I have arthritis I was very inconvenienced making the gate."
