Scores according to KAYAK customer reviews
Pros: "I got an aisle seat right near the bulkhead with so much leg room. There were so many free amenities. It was the biggest plane I'd ever seen - very well kept and clean. Crew was nice and quick with service."
Cons: "Waited for over an hour for trams to retrieve us from the aircraft."
Cons: "The flight was delayed too much for the connecting flight to Leeds. Detour to Vienna - Amsterdam - Leeds. I had to run to catch the Amsterdam flight - not easy for 72 yrs old with newish hip! Now 2hrs at Schippol and may get home by midnight."
Pros: "The crew were fine."
Cons: "The flight left on time and arrived at Gatwick 15 minutes early."
Cons: "Need some more and better inflight movies"
Pros: "The crew was friendly and professional, and I appreciated their attention to detail even though it was a relatively short flight."
Pros: "We had two seats alone on the side, in row 51(!), with plenty of room and easy access (but not too close) to the loo. The Boeing 747 has aged well and was a bit more comfortable than the 787 Dreamliner we took over to Europe."
Cons: "Only downside was the clunky seatback entertainment screen, which probably looked bad 20 years ago when they put it in."
Pros: "Getting water offered frequently"
Pros: "The Airbus was a real nice ride, with a great entertainment choices."
Cons: "The only thing was the two hour delay getting out of Heathrow. But that was for safety reasons, a bag had been loaded that shouldn't have been."
Pros: "Excellent service from all British Airways crew that we dealt with"
Cons: "Lost luggage. One of our suitcases never arrived at JFK. A lot of food was served which was nice but quality of food was mediocre. Very high salt content. Not many options for diet restricted travelers."
Pros: "One of the members of our party needed extra assistance because of an injury. We let BA know ahead of time online, and there was someone waiting to help at every connection and step of our travels. The staff and crew definitely went above and beyond to make our trip easier and more comfortable."
Pros: "The privilege of getting business class perks"
Cons: "The business class seats are economy class seats with the middle seat blocked, the leg space are same as economy."
Cons: "Cramped, uncomfortable seats. Minimal legroom. Food and beverage for purchase. Luggage charged for. Group boarding. All on a so called premium airline, for a premium price. If I want Ryanair, I’ll fly Ryanair."
Pros: "No hassle with hand luggage"
Pros: "Price OK, bag checked."
Cons: "Checked in 100mins early with prior assistance request, told to wait in general area. After 15mins no wheelchair, BA agent said wait longer. After 30mins still no wheelchair, BA agent would not call to check; said keep waiting "we don't know how long for, but its on them (Deutsche Red Kross) to get you to gate without missing flight"! After 60mins, airport info agent checked & said chair was coming. After 75mins, DRK agent arrived with 2 wheelchairs and wasted time trying to find a second passenger needing assistance. Agent then rushed us through terminal with no opportunity to get food or drink or use bathrooms. Got to very remote gate 15mins before departure, and boarded last. Don't use BA Hamburg if you need assistance."
Pros: "Boarding. Food."
Cons: "My in flight entertainment was broken and that us quite a disadvantage on a 12 hour flight. I was told it was because the airplane was "very old" which whilst it may be true it is not something I particularly want to hear. I was also told that as the flight was full I could only move seats if someone wanted to swap. I'm not sure if the flight attendant was expecting me to stand up and make a public request?!"
Pros: "Absolutely nothing - and this was Club Europe"
Cons: "Punctuality (lack of). Comfort (lack of). Seat pitch. Food. Cabin crew service. State of aircraft. Price (premium for a budget service)."
Cons: "Lost my seat assignment, got middle seat"
Pros: "best vegan meal ever"
Cons: "I missed my connection and was stuck for 12 hours. I was not warned that at nearly 70, I might need help to get to the gate on time. When I was late, the staff told me I should have asked for help.I had no way of knowing. I was told on another flight about the time limit. The lack of variety of entertainment and the quality of the equipment and the picture resolution made was a joke"
Pros: "Efficient boarding."
Cons: "No complaints"
Pros: "Staff were great, classy even, making the journey pleasant"
Cons: "On checking in I wasn’t given the option to add a bag, meaning I had to pay over double the rate at the airport. Trying to add one online or on the app failed. Calling the support helpline was a waste of time and money; spending 10mins on hold before being told there was nothing to be done."
Pros: "Oneworld status points"
Cons: "The price, the cancellation of the flight, the lack of free tea, the lack of baggage allowance."
Pros: "Overall flight experience was pleasant and process of disembarking flight and immigration at Heathrow was superb (very quick, under 15 minutes from plane landing to being out of the airport!)."
Cons: "Not informed of second security queue (it was long with delays) so some anxiety had until a BA staff member arrived to allow passengers to London to cut the line. No USB power at seat."
Cons: "They knew that they were going to delay the flight so that they can add the next flight to the 6.45 pm flight. @ least we should have been notified or something."
Cons: "Luggage did not follow me. Still without."
Cons: "Connecting flight experience - Had to wait in a line for around 5 hours just to speak with a customer service representative at the London airport because my previous flight was delayed and I had missed my connecting flight."
Pros: "That the British Airways trip was over."
Cons: "Undue delay, but most especially that the airline's services portrays a belief that passengers travelling round-trip to Africa do not deserve the same service as those travelling between Europe and the U.S., especially for the fare being charged for the shorter distance."
Pros: "Good flight time and route. Crew are consummate professionals"
Cons: "Almost everything else was poor. There is no long lasting BA class of service anymore. The boarding is mediocre, there is no food or drinks included, you have to pay to pick your seat. Basically a flash version of EasyJet."
Pros: "plane was not full so plenty of room to move around etc"
Cons: "Unable to book a seat in advance"
Cons: "Food cost was a surprise. No biggie, just glad I brought a snack"
Pros: "The crew was friendly."
Pros: "I had purchased an upgrade to economy plus --- it was great--- much more expensive than I had thought, but I was tired and wanted to try to rest. There I was greeted with champagne, a warm wash cloth and fabulous service by the two male crew members!!! Truly the best! I am almost 70 and I wear hearing aids--- one helped me with my chair and answered my questions .... I felt VERY taken care of/- I was just one row after the business class with the wall ahead on right side of plane, nice leg room and a nice seat mate I am happy for the chance to respond as I was happy I had decided for the upgrade------------even though I had purchased an upgrade for my flight over to Barcelona only to find out on the day of check in that my flight was cancelled----- but that is when I called British Air and a lovely representative named Beth Duncan spent over 2 hours on the phone with me---- finally getting me on Iberia in order to get to my family reunion------ So....... on two occasions during this trip to my sister's house British Air was just wonderful and I thank you very much------- at the end of our flight one of the men made arrangements for me to get to go upstairs and look at the upper deck as I had never done that before------- as as retired teacher that was fun to see Thank you so much!!!"
Cons: "Awesome staff! Great food and tea!"
Pros: "Chair rolm"
Cons: "No fee food"
Cons: "Seats were not as nice as on Lufthansa premium economy and there was no option to buy a pass to the business class lounge (as there is with Lufthansa). The return flight plane had no extendable leg rest in the seat as I did in the first flight. This was disappointing."
Cons: "Rude employees, flight attendant actually kicked my partners leg on purpose. No beverage provided at all."
Pros: "It got me to LHR alive."
Cons: "luggage didnt arrive"
Pros: "Loved that entertainment available before take off and ended after taxiing. Liked that drinks and food were free. Would pick BA again"
Cons: "Tried to order kids food on website and couldn't figure out how to do it so the kids got adult food. Perhaps make it easier to order or give kids kids food as default."
Pros: "I was not able to get one glass of water to take my medication, without having to pay for it. British Airways has become one of the worse airlines."
Pros: "The treatment and service you get no matter what class you flying. With BA you are always "first class" passenger. Amazing new aircraft with enough room in the economy class that makes an oversea flight very comfortable. the flight attendants are very friendly and serve you as fast as possible. I always order two drinks before the first meal and I couldn't even finish the 2nd one before they came around and asked me for another one. I would always go BA if I could. Amazing airline."
Cons: "Cancelled with no opportunity to rebook. I missed my entire trip!"
Cons: "Ancient plane. Worn and uncomfortable business class seats. iPad for entertainment was a joke - you balance it on the skeletal remains of what had been the video monitor. Cabin crew literally disappeared after "meal" service. I had to "disturb" them from under blankets playing Candy Crush to get a drink during this 7 1/2 hour flight. I usually fly Virgin, but for some reason this was cheaper this time - I will never fly BA/Open Skies again."
Pros: "The journey was quite good, and so was the crew. Always with a smile. The seats were comfortable and broad. Nothing had that aeroplane smell. The inflight entertainment was also pretty basic and good."
Cons: "They took forever to start the boarding. The flight was atleast 40 mins late."
Cons: "I was unable to check-in online or select seats, and was thus relegated to a middle seat. Never happens when I book directly at ba.com - so clearly, they penalize people who book through an airfare wholesale site. In addition, they typically offer an upgrade promotion ($$) online or at time of check-in, but when I asked they said they weren't offering any - despite a colleague who booked directly on ba.com being offered one. Won't ever make that mistake again - not worth it."
Pros: "I like everything about British Airways. They are always so friendly, polite, helpful, and accommodating."
