It was late for no apparent reason causing me to miss my connection and a day of work.
Carry-on luggage restrictions extremely stringent- did not allow carry-on sized suitcases we have brought on other flights, boarding is slow and disorganized delaying take-off and making difficult to get to connecting flight
They don’t offer much to eat for a 6:40 am flight. It was a drink and a cookie. They could’ve offered more to eat. I am comparing this to KLM who we flew into Florence with.
They cancelled my flight day before without any support to rebook.
The plane had a landing gear failure. It got rerouted to Pisa. Then lufthansa drove us 3 hours to Verona in the middle of the night with a crazy fast taxi driver. Now we are stuck in Verona for 2 days and they stripped me of my business class flight. What a terrible airline!
British Airways cannot fly from Florence if it rains because it’s plane is incompatible with the Florence runway. There was a light mist, so we were told we would have to depart from Pisa. We waited over an hour for transportation to Pisa to be arranged, and ultimately went by taxi. Then at Heathrow, we had to wait for a gate. Once a gate opened, we had to wait for British Air ground crew to arrive before we could deplane. We were told there would be someone would help us get to our connecting flight. There wasn’t. We would have had time to make the connecting flight, but ground personnel would not let us go through security because of a rule you must go through security 35 minutes before the scheduled flight. We were forced to spend the night in London. What we heard repeatedly was that BA’s Florence flight is a known problem (BA rebooking agent: “I don’t know why we still have that flight..” If I had known about the problem with the Florence flight when I made my reservations, I would have arranged my trip to depart from Rome. BA displayed incompetence at almost every level.
Flight Beverly delayed and communication around that was poor. The actual boarding was lengthy and confusing.
