Sixt Customer Service lied to me.! I called to make sure that they provided shuttle from the Sonestan to the airport. It cost me $35 to take an Uber. The person at the counter said " well Customer service is in India. They don't know we don't have shuttle. Sixt only gsve me two off site drop off locations. How do I get reimbursed for my Uber cost?

I would rent from Fox again but I’d be way more likely to rent from Fox if there was a way to use their car for toll roads on only the days when you’re planning to use it on those roads instead of paying for toll usage for the entire duration of the trip. Having to pay for the entire duration even though I only wanted to use tolls for one day meant that the cost was much higher and the value not really that great.

Had a problem with pick-up. Got the text of which car to grab (in a specific parking spot) and was confirmed via text and email. When we tried to leave the check out person said he had no record of my reservation and no link to that car. So, it took a very long time to depart airport. Also, car was not very clean.

I think the company is ridiculous. Only 3/4 quarters of a tank of gas a they considered that full . I was hit with a ton of BS hidden fees . The car for the money was a disgrace . Advance check in was easy. I rented via car rentals.com. That was a pain since you can't contact hertz directly if you have an issue with a late plane or canceled flight to tell them you aren't coming. Did save a bunch of money with prepay.
We drove 3 hours to pick up the car and we was not able to because of very high security deposit hold and would not accept our payment.

The price was attractive, until they nickel and dime you for everything including wanting to sell you glass insurance by saying you are responsible for chips in the glass and they list an unrealistic price chart you will be charged for a chip. Car was a mess, full of sand on the floors and seats. Office wasn’t clean at all and they do not have enough staff. Expect to wait 1.5 hours for a car.

If you rent from this company have your insurance info with you and I mean the page that shows you have collision coverage because your insurance card is not going to work for them when they try to sell you there insurance. Be prepared to wait. One guy had to cancel his rental car and get an Uber it was that bad the day I rented from them. The gentleman that assisted me at the counter was very nice but can't say the same for all.
Dollar Rental changed my vehicle rental from. 15 passenger van to a mini van without notification!!! I even drove 1.5 hrs to confirm I was getting a Ford Transit 15 passenger van a week prior to pick up. When I arrived on the day of rental they said I had rented a minivan! I showed the email proof of the Ford Transit. They said I could have that for $500 more!!! The finally gave me an old 12 passenger Chevy van that was very uncomfortable to travel 3,800 miles in over the holidays. Both managers blamed others for the mistakes made and were put out that I wanted what I paid for and reserved. I'll never do business with them again.

I didn't appreciate the "nickle and diming"; the final price was almost 3 times what was advertised with all the added fees and taxes etc. They should be far more transparent with the final cost to the customer. Staff are upselling to the benefit of the business and not necessarily that of the customer. I was offered a transponder but after closer inspection it would have been cheaper for me to pay for the tolls. This was very disappointing; I recommend better training and customer sensitivity workshops.

The pickup experience was horrendous, took almost 2.5 hours. The initial check-in line was extremely long. Once check-in was completed and instructed to go to lower floor to pickup car, you had to find an employee to put your name on a waitlist. The system was chaotic and unorganized. The entire process took 2.5 hours, I was late to meet friends for lunch and delayed my entire schedule. I was only in town for a night and required me to make alternate arrangements. Lastly, I was billed incorrectly and charged for refueling, even though I returned it at the same level I took the car.
Terrible and never renting from NEXTCAR again!!! They never gave me the car I reserved. The rude lady said I was "banned" but didn't tell me why. If I was really banned, why did my reservation go through??? I was forced to go to a different company and pay walk-up prices. I'm very angry and I'm not going to risk this again...therefore, I'm avoiding this awful company. I'm advising friends and acquaintances to stay away!

At TPA, everything went as expected. It does feel like a "B" provider but they are right in the Terminal. Elantra was very new and clean and price was good. They do keep your deposit for a bit but mine was returned in just a few days (they say 14 days). I would use them again.

Electronic checkin allowed us to avoid the desk with the long line and get to our selected car directly from baggage claim. Team members walked the car with us taking photos before we left then emailed them to us. It kept everything very transparent.
I paid for and booked for Hyundai Tuscon or similar but I got Mitsubishi Outlander. Car was ok but no CarPlay or no Navigation system. It’s very hard to drive without navigation in unknown place.

It took nearly a hour to get my rental. The help process takes too long her person. Feels as though staff really pushes for additional services. Rates were only a few dollars cheaper than the competitors i will likely never use ace again
I tried to cancel my reservation less than 24 hour's after booking and I was told I booked a non refundable car. They have very strict policies and would not refund me for the car. I had to pay for it, even though I couldn't go on my trip. So disappointing, I cried. Renters beware!!!

I tried 4 different cars because each car had an issue. Two cars reeked of smoke, one had a smashed in back fender, and the last had sand and trash all over the floor board including 11 used water and soda bottles strewn around the interior of the car. The Avis agents were accommodating in switching cars but it was a terrible experience having to walk back and forth to the counter and car each time. It took over an hour to finally get into a car. They also didn’t escalate to a manager until I asked for one when we pulled the car up to show them all of the trash. The manager was very friendly and helpful. He apologized for the trouble. The return was challenging as well. The signage was poorly done. I parked in one of the designated return spots and followed signs up 8 flights of stairs to the rooftop to find that I had been misdirected. I walked back downstairs and ultimately found the return desk on the ground floor. The agent asked me where I parked and told me I had to move the car the rooftop. I told her the signs directed me to park in the designated spots side the garage which were clearly marked as Avis return spots but she insisted I move and that the car was now late. She said the signs were wrong and need to be removed. When I expressed displeasure with the poor signage and waste of time the agent told me I could call customer service. I had to go back upstairs and drive the car all the way to the top of the garage. The process was inefficient and frustrating.
Mexrental is a scam company and Kayak should not recommend them. The online price is a hoax. When I arrived at their office, after waiting 40 minutes in line, they told me that with my great full coverage insurance, I would have to pay a daily admin fee that was double the amount of the cost of the rental car that I had paid online. Specifically, my rental through Kayak was $107. The “ admin fee” that I had no choice but to pay was $211. I was in literal tears but had to pay the money and go because I didn’t have time to try to find another car. Everyone I spoke to in the office was furious. All the customers were being charged exorbitant extra fees. One lady told me she was charge an extra $125 because she was 70 years old. It’s absolutely ridiculous! I will never rent from them again and will warn others against it.

It was an absolute waste of time and money. I rented the van so my family and I could attend my best friend’s wedding in the keys I was in the wedding party. The van I rented apparently had expired tags in which I got pulled over multiple times for and was late to her event. This is extremely upsetting. When I told the manager at the rental company he stated that he has too many vehicles to keep track of. This is unacceptable. I feel that this is their job to insure that the vehicle are ready and safe for the road for their customers I am very disappointed and will be contacting customer service. The money I wasted not to mention the memories. Awful experience.

Flight was late. They cxld my non refundable car. They countered with car over twice what I had originally scheduled. I will be giving reviews on every platform I can. I also will be sending letter to the Florida AG. My wife is a flight attendant and we travel quite a bit. We have used kayak numerous times in the past but we are extremely disappointed that kayak is associated with a company like Mex!
Horrible outfit. Bait and switch. The end cost was more than the national rental places. I ubered back to the airport and went with Enterprise. Same happened to four others that I saw. Avoid this place.

Was in a booth video over an hour.. only one live employee on site. still wanted to charge another $67 on top of the payment I already made in full. I cancelled the agreement with no car and an hour wasted. My wife was waiting for me and said she never seen one happy person leaving routes. Had to order an Uber for a pick-up. Thought the Hyundai was our ride, but no.. another customer returning his vehicle after just leaving with troubles. No refund given. PLEASE save yourself and go elsewhere. The live video agent was a very nice lady, but she needs to work for a reputable company.

Do not use this company. I have used kayak and priceline often with no issues. After a slightly delayed flight, waiting for the Routes shuttle and waiting in a slow line at Routes I was denied my reserved car because they hold it for ONE hour. That was not in my paperwork anywhere. Other people were angry in line (which is why the line took so long) because they require to see your insurance declaration page, which no one had. There were people trying to call their insurance agents. The people ahead of me walked away without a car. One man was asked to leave because he was angry that he was not aware of the insurance requirement. I was denied a car, had to take the shuttle back to the airport where my daughter and her baby were waiting for me to pick them up in the rental car. VERY poor experience.
Very poor! We waited for over an hour for their shuttle to pick us up! And then we spent another hour at the counter trying to get our car. We had to cancel our plans because of that. They demanded a $1000,00(!!!!) security deposit, I had an 86 year old mother with me who was absolutely exhausted after all this trouble they put us in. They offered no apology whatsoever. They luck customer service. There were two other groups of people who went through the same thing. I hope I will get my deposit back!!! Will never rent a car from them!

I booked the car for 220$ usd and as a Québec resident I was not eligible for the insurance coverage. When i arrived at the rental place I was told I had to pay 1270$ usd for insurance. This is a scam, don’t advertise cheap rates and then change the price when the customer can’t go with another company because it’s non refundable and I am already off the airport property. Scammers

If you do not arrive within 1-2 hours of your reservation time, they give your car away and don't have backups for you! EVERYONE in that arrived on my shuttle were in the same boat; they didn't have any of our vehicles; they were simply telling everyone that their reservation is cancelled, we'll receive our money back (eventually), and we just need to go elsewhere to find a car last minute, at night. IT WAS A DISASTER! Thank God one of the guys working there took pity on my group since I had my 80 year old parents with me, and managed to find another vehicle for us. It was smaller than what we rented, but at least it was a vehicle. I'm thankful to the employee who bent over backwards to find us a vehicle, but York's policy of re-renting everyone's cars if they are not there within 1-2 hours is CRAZY! Everyone else got screwed. It was an awful experience. Oh, it it took HOURS for all of that to get settled. 0/5 stars.

After waiting in line for over an hour to pick up my rental from York, I was told by the counter staff that I would my personal (full coverage) auto insurance was still not enough coverage to rent a vehicle. It was proposed that I would either need to contact my insurance company to pay an additional ~$150 to tack on a rental car for the month OR pay York a $500 non-refundable security deposit, I should have listened to the line of other disgruntled customers in front of me, I ended up leaving with no rental, having to take a $40 Uber to my destination, and be carless for the week I was in town, I will NEVER use York again.
Car windshield holes and scratch, wipers left water smeared in glass and all impeded vision. Sticking gas pedal, brakes grabbed, old 10+ years I think, no agent to talk to, only through TV screen, 2 lot men only spoke Spanish, forced to buy Insurance even though I have my own. Very difficult and sleazy.

And the day after we rented, they tried to charge 2,000.00 to my card! Luckily card company caught it! I then cancelled my card immediately so they couldn’t attempt to charge anything else. The only car rental company that didn't accept our Liberty Mutual California liability limits. The total cost was over double the quoted rate. Also we got pulled over by the police due to expired plates.

Shuttle from Airport was clean, updated, and driver was courteous Phone number was answered at least ,50 percent of time by agent at the local office Downsides... There was an Extra airport surcharge that was NOT disclosed on the initial pricing for rental. I received email from company, said deposit for car was 250 with major CC, 500 with debit card, and as much as 2000 with FL residence. When requested insurance, stated policy, which was NOT disclosed in email, was that to use own Auto policy, deposit increased to 2000 for rental. Advertised vehicle was Toyota Corolla or similar... Recueved Mitsubishi hatchback... Was minimalist vehicle. On day of dropoff, front desk staff was ALSO shuttle driver, so under staffing for service also an issue.
Absolutely terrible company. If I could give it zero stars, I would. I have asked for a refund and had to go with a different rental upon landing in Florida. They tried to take a $3000 deposit even though we already had external insurance. They advertise that they're in the airport which they are not, and they didn't even offer a shuttle - they told us to Uber. Upon looking at reviews, many people said that they kept and wouldn't return the deposits claiming unreal damages. They also tried to do additional toll charges and other random shady things, that they communicated through text. Also, when they asked for the $3000 deposit, and we tried to escalate it since it was completely unheard of, they didn't say anything and changed the contract back to $500 without telling us (to delete the evidence). Terrible, terrible, terrible company. Pay more and go with a reputable service.

Airport shuttle from airport: Good communication, minimal wait. They called my insurance company to make sure I was covered. I already knew I was, so that was a time waster. Our car 4dr Mercedes was clean however, it was dented in 3-4 places and had a broken headlight cover. Interior smelled like smoke. The car worked and did its job getting around. Passenger window would stick or not work going up it had to be rolled up from the driver side. When I got the car, I told them when I return I will be here around 6:30pm. We can get a shuttle back to the airport correct? I was told yes. Upon returning the car at 6:30pm we were told they were closed (closed but people were still there) and they wouldn’t drive us to the airport. He said his coworker explained they were closed at 6pm and don’t do shuttles after 6pm. Kayak and the rental company promises airport shuttles. We were not given instructions on how to drop the car off if there had been no one there. We were also told our 6:30pm arrival wouldn’t be a problem for a shuttle. The employee took us to the airport in his personal car which was spotless and kind of him. This has soured my experience with both Kayak and the AZ rental company
It is a sham company. There was no body in that address and the people in Consolidated Car rental company didn't want to help. This is a rip off. They take your money, but there is no rental car. We had to just take an Uber.

When I arrived at Tampa Airport, I called multiple times and got a rerouted to different numbers. One number I called about 10 times with no answer. None of the people I did speak with could tell me when a shuttle would arrive to transport my family and I to the rental company. After an hour I gave up and got a rental from another company. I spoke with 2 other people in line for another company who claimed the same thing happened. 0/10 would not recommend.

Firstly, the staff was polite and professional; nice guys. They were on time in shuttling us to and from the airport (since they were off airport location but only minutes away so not inconvenient at all). Both the shuttle and car rental were clean. The registration process was easy and efficient. I would totally use them again HOWEVER, I don’t recall their website stating that the price I paid was just to reserve the car. When we got there they asked for our insurance and if it didn’t state we had 300k on Property Damage Liability (which I never heard a company having this requirement) we had to purchase theirs, no way around that. Although I had purchased extra rental coverage through a third party site which was pointless because this car rental company didn’t accept. So the car that was originally 30$ for the day ended up being almost 110$ after adding the sun pass and additional insurance. We were on a schedule to get our trip moving along smoothly so I just bit the bullet and used their services but this felt like a bait and switch tactic which is why I have a bad review. Too bad because I liked everything else about it. It would’ve just been easier, convenient and cheaper had I just used a well known rental company right inside the airport.

We canceled the rental as there were hidden charges they were going to add to the already price we paid. I canceled it and they told me I would not be charged yet they charged me the full price anyway. I am very disappointed in their service and lies.

Forced to get insurance. Drop off address is incorrect. When contacting company to get directions, got no response Drove around for 45 minutes. The address that I was given from Kayak had the address of the place they clean the cars. The gentleman there who cleans the cars, but doesn’t speak English had me follow him to car rental place, if not for him I would still be driving around looking for the place. . Did not receive any contracts. Also waited 1 hour 30 minutes to be picked up from airport upon my arrival.

I canceled the car reservation. They wanted an extra $300 for insurance after he already paid for another insurance through a third-party which cost more than the car rental. They told me that was collision coverage only and that my State farm limits were not high enough to rent the car so they wanted an additional $300 for a three day rental. I just left without a car.

Rental office was 10 min from airport with no shuttle running until 730 in the morning we needed to be at the airport by 6. We chose to rent from another provider
One of those "call for us to pick you up" places. Only after calling, e-mailing and texting over a 60 minute period, we went to Alamo. No one at the airport had ever heard of Global. It's a scam.

SCAMMMMMM….horrible area, no customer service. You had to talk to an iPad. We didn’t get a car, “they gave it away”…even when we had reservation. Kayak should not allow this company to go through them. Makes me not want to trust kayak.com

They charge a low upfront cost then force you to buy insurance based on predatory terms and conditions. I’m over insured. Never had a single car rental company in 10+ years deny my person insurance but this one said it was inadequate and charged me over 3 times the original booking cost for supplemental insurance. Just go you National or Enterprise.
