Pros: The place being in a remote area. A place to relax. Great hosts.
6,0 Good
Pros: Hosts were friendly and although they were not there to greet us upon our arrival, the directions were very clear and entry was easy.
Cons: Breakfast: With the exception of the yummy fresh papaya, I thought the breakfast would be better described as a continental breakfast: very high carb, empty calorie breakfast. Choices included: bagels, toast, or waffles with butter/jam. Coffee or tea were also included. I would encourage hosts to offer some kind of protein choice with breakfast such as yogurt, cottage cheese, hard boiled egg, and/or peanut butter. No alcohol policy: Perhaps I missed seeing this, but this should be made clear in the lodging description that no alcohol is allowed on the premises.
10,0 Excellent
Pros: Choosing 'At the end of the road B&B' was the best decision I made before visiting The Big Island. The place is located in a quiet area whithin just a short drive to the National Volcano Park and a small town. Very reasonably priced! We stayed in a very clean and cosy room, where all the toiletries are provided. The breakfast time was the highlight of our stay as we had chance to chat to the super friendly, interesting and knowledgeable hosts. We will definitely stay there again on our next visit! Thank you Lani and Ray!
Cons: Everything was absolutely perfect!
10,0 Excellent
Pros: Our hosts greeted us warmly, Very nice shared space to relax in. We felt very welcomed here.
9,0 Excellent
Pros: Lani and Ray were very warm and welcoming. eg Breakfasts turned out to be longer than expected after we started discussing the park with them and other guests. We had been to Volcano 6 years ago, so were very interested in discussing the latest eruptions and how they had changed the area. In the end, Lani and Ray directed us to some beautiful areas on the coast which we would otherwise have missed.
Cons: -
9,0 Excellent
Pros: Very comfortable bed
10,0 Excellent
Pros: We had spent the day visiting the Volcano National park, At the End of the Road B & B was 5mins from the park entrance, we were able to wash, change and found a nice place for dinner, then finish the night off watching the glow from the crater before taking the short trip back to our bed. The B & B was cosy and very comfortable, with an electric blanket if required, our hosts were very friendly and chatty whilst making our breakfast before we had to head to the airport.
Cons: Nothing.
10,0 Excellent
Pros: Host is so nice and willing to share lots of stories about Hawai’i. The house is so cozy, everything is wonderful.
Cons: When car passing by neighbors house, some dogs are barking to the car and a little scary.
9,2 Excellent
Pros: The lovely host, Lani, was a source of very useful information. She was very friendly and we appreciated the personal touch that she was able to give. Lovely house with a great lounge area and an extremely comfortable bed.
Cons: Would have liked to be able to make a cup of tea.
10,0 Excellent
Pros: We had a very nice stay. Room was very comfortable. Breakfast was simple and coffee was great! Lani and Ray were a delightful couple who made us feel at home.

Pros: Wonderful, calm and built-with-Love accommodation surrounded by pure nature and still close to the relevant volcano national park and village. Hosts have been very welcoming/ inviting providing lots of useful information for our stay. Hot tub could be used right away, snacks, fruits and more were plenty available. 10,0 Excellent
Pros: The area around was just perfect. In the middle of the rain forest. Really calm, no noises. Perfect for some relaxing days. The breakfast was delicous, every day something else. They prepare it the day before and you can warm it up in your „room“. (It’s actually a little house) It is close to the Volcano National Park, ideal place for some hikes. By car you can reach the beaches, which are really beautiful.
7,5 Good
Pros: Design of our room/building was very cool
Cons: Warming up your day old pancakes in the toaster oven for breakfast. lack of available staff in the early morning or night
10,0 Excellent
Pros: Liked: that we had our own unit surrounded by the tropical forest; top of the line shampoos, table set for two with a light but tasty breakfast prepared in advance.
8,8 Excellent
Pros: The room and grounds were perfect. The “town” of volcano village was nice....sort of a hip artists community. Several nice places to eat...and it is VERY close to the National Park .
Cons: The breakfast was on the cheap side. The fruit platter and hot item were beautifully arranged and platted.... but the potions were VERY small. What was presented would have been perfect for ONE person, but my wife and I had to spilt the small bits. Also... we stayed in the Hale Manaluna unit. It is right next to the lobby. When the staff was present (9:00 to 6:00) youu could hear their radio and conversation clearly through the adjacent wall.
10,0 Excellent
Pros: This lodge is right in amongst the ferns and is so amazing to wake up to with all the windows in the ceiling! It has native birds all around and a cute cat. Comfortable bed and good shower. Warm and friendly staff. Will stay again!
9,6 Excellent
Pros: Very quiet, good atmosphere. Breakfast was prepared in the fridge in the room, nothing bothered us.
Cons: It will be even better if we have cooking facilities to be able to cook meat. Difficult to find without navigation.
9,6 Excellent
Pros: Great rooms, awesome staff and great breakfast each morning.
Cons: Could of used some tv at night.
7,1 Good
Pros: Room architecture was cool, but a little lacking in privacy (had to keep blinds closed). Breakfast was placed in our room the day before, so we could just heat it up in the morning. Location was convenient to visit the Volcanoes National Park.
Cons: Wish we had a chance to say hi to the staff, but we didn't catch a glimpse of them the 3 days we were there (check-in was self-served). Also, there wasn't any soap in our room, just face soap.
9,6 Excellent
Pros: Puo the manager was wonderful and so personable. She gave us some wonderful sightseeing ideas and made sure we had everything we needed. The cabin we stayed in was wonderful and it got cool enough at night with the windows open we turned on the fireplace in the morning. We enjoyed being secluded. The cabins were built in such a way that even though we had one adjacent to us we never saw them. Only one window could you see their porch. Gino the cat was a fun addition since I am a cat lover. Didn't use the hot tube only because we didn't have time. Hope to stay here again someday!
Cons: Nothing. The only thing that we didn't like is that they turn on the outside light. We wouldn't come back until after dark so there were a bunch of moths hanging out at our front door. We had to hurry up and dive into the room to try to keep them out.

Pros: The breakfast was fantastic and Michael was ever so helpful in suggesting places to visit in the national park
Cons: Nothing, it was all amazing!
10,0 Excellent
Pros: Hale Ohia is set in beautiful lush gardens with quaint rooms that are comfortable and relaxing. Michael is a welcoming host and after a day of exploring the national park a quiet place to return to. Very clean with a breakfast provided in your room for the next day. The village is a short walk or drive with varied choices of cafes and restaurants, and store for snacks to take hiking. Highly recommended stay.
8,8 Excellent
Pros: Quaint, old worldy. Lost in time. Friendly and helpful host
Cons: Musty due to weather conditions.
10,0 Excellent
Pros: Everything was as advertised. Great cottages quiet and relaxing. Mike was a great host. Craig and Tammy.
Cons: na l
10,0 Excellent
Pros: We stayed in cottage 44 (or cottage 3 on here). The cottage was adorable and the perfect romantic getaway. The views from inside the cottage are unforgettable and the 2 sided fireplace makes the entire cottage nice and toasty (we were there in winter so the nights got cold). We didnt actually see another soul while on property so it was almost like we were in our own world !
Cons: The only minus is that things dont dry well in the cottage unless they are right in front if the fire place (may have been a result of staying in winter)
9,6 Excellent
Pros: The room was clean and comfortable. The home made cake was delicious. Wish I could stay a few more days to enjoy the beautiful property.
Cons: Nothing.

8,3 Excellent
Pros: This quirky little house with individually decorated rooms provided an excellent base for us exploring Volcano national park. The inn-keeper Joan was amazing and served us excellent breakfast with fresh fruits each morning. The rooms and commonplace was clean, very comfortable bed.
Cons: The house felt damp and humid. The humidity level in Volcano was high in March.
8,8 Excellent
Pros: The location was excellent! It rained a lot so it was chilly and humid. But there was a dehumidifier in our room(it was bit loud but worked well) and a heater in the bathroom. The breakfast was great. Fruit slices were big & juicy & sweet, goat milk yogurt was delicious, her homemade bread & jam was so good. The inn-keeper Joan was kind and amazing! Wish we stayed there longer. We would come back.
10,0 Excellent
Pros: Joan is the owner of the space and she will take care of you like if you were family. It was such a good time to have stayed there. Super easy access to the Volcano Park and in easy access to other locations within the island. It is in a place where you can appreciate the wild and the amazing sky.
10,0 Excellent
Pros: We had the chance to spend 2 nights at the Aloha Happy Place and it was the best experience we had in Hawai’i ! The location is ideal if you are planning to visit the Volcano National Park, but it remains absolutely quiet with only the sound of birds and nature. A perfect way to live the hawaiain life and get out of the city. You will enjoy the breakfast that is totally homemade with breads (taro, avocado), cereals, tea, coffee, eggs, goat’s milk yoghurt... and papaya! Joan was so generous and thoughful, making sure everything was okay and also by refulling us with delicious fruits. She even made us try other foods the next morning and will give you great advice about things to do and places to eat if you go and ask her! You will also get to meet new people by chating with the other guests for breakfast! We stayed in the Paniolo room which had a horse theme decoration. Everything was clean, really good equipment (Netflix on TV ! Hairdryer, robes, towels...) with a really nice view on the garden/yard. Don’t be surprised, this place has a « self check-in » system but you will recieve all the informations via email before your arrival, just take the time to read and you will be all good! Highly recommend this lovely place and thank you to Joan to let us stay to her well-named Aloha Happy Place! And don’t forget : follow the rainbow!
9,6 Excellent
Pros: This property has quite mixed reviews, so we weren’t sure what to expect. If you expect quirky with a great breakfast (not cooked but home-style) then you won’t be disappointed. We find it nice to chat with other guests over breakfast. Microwave and fridge available for use by guests. Good location for volcano visit/hikes (5 min drive to park entrance). Convenient checkin as key and instructions can be collected from office when unattended.
9,5 Excellent
Pros: Simple but very tasty breakfast- especially the selfmade marmelades and the organic fruits. Joan was pretty helpful& passed a lot of interesting information.
9,2 Excellent
Pros: The location next to the park is excellent. I spent the day in the park, checked into the hotel early evening, took a break and then went back into the park to photograph the stars. It's 3 minutes away. The proprietor was very friendly, helpful and provided a wonderful breakfast. The bed was very comfy. I'd stay again.
10,0 Excellent
Pros: It was very cute, homey, great ambience, nice rooms, nice landscaping and a working farm with a variety of animals. Great place for a romantic getaway, family vacation or business.
Cons: No complaints at all. I hope to stay there again. One minor drawback is it's 24 miles from Hilo but on the positive side very close to the volcano, sights and parks!

Pros: Staff friendly and accommodating
Cons: What happened to the robes ? Slippers would be nice
9,6 Excellent
Pros: Great location and staff.
Cons: Hard beds and dinner in the restaurant was disappointing.
9,6 Excellent
Pros: Ring so close to the crater. Food was excellent
10,0 Excellent
Pros: The fire, the lounge view, the complementary morning coffee and evening cookies, the boardgames.
Cons: Many trails I wanted to hike in the park were closed.
10,0 Excellent
Pros: Comfort amid semi-rustic decor, friendly staff, views in every direction, good wifi and no TV in guest rooms to distract us. Two gift shops to keep the shopaholic happy. The setting and the national park learning experience are two bargains that should not be missed, at any age but especially for younger kids. You’ll want to stay for at least two or three nights. And take sturdy shoes and a jacket, it gets chilly.
Cons: Rained or misted for three days straight, a mild annoyance. But that didn’t slow us down. Restaurant dinner offerings could be improved. But ditto. No molten lava on view since 2018. But we drove and walked all over and bought the DVD. We’ll be back.

10,0 Excellent
Pros: the hosts are especially great people ! 10 min walk to the lava tube.
Cons: in our room the bathroom is a bit cramped but definitely bearable. everything else was grade AAA+++.
10,0 Excellent
Pros: I liked the private entrances, the hosts were very informative and gave great recommendations of what to see while on the island. The lava tube tour was really cool! It was amazing to have something like that in your backyard!
Cons: Everything was great.
8,3 Excellent
Pros: The location in the national park and the price
Cons: Probably because if the location in a rain forest but it felt a bit damp.
8,0 Excellent
Pros: Room was clean. Beds were very comfortable. Setting was pleasant. Host provided some fresh baking from his wife. Fridge had yogurt and some drinks. There was also coffee and granola.
Cons: Sound proofing was poor between our room and the room above and we heard footsteps very clearly.
7,5 Good
Pros: Location, location, location. We didn't visit the Lava tube and we had already done a tour previously in Lanzarote so didn't feel the need to do another. Therefore we cannot comment on the actual tube but we were given a price of $10 per person for equipment and entry to the tube, this is a self guided tour as far as we could make out. We didn't use the breakfast items these were not to our taste but eat some fresh fruit. Coffee was good and plentiful to make as we pleased. There was plenty of space in the room but the room was rustic.
Cons: No sink in the kitchen. The sink in the bathroom was very small especially to wash pots. Stayed 2 nights and the room was only partially serviced, bed wasn't made, but we were supplied with fresh towels. There was no information booklet in the room or information about the Lava Tube or hints or tips on the surrounding area.
6,0 Good
Pros: place was nice until...(see cons)
Cons: Watch out for the paranoid, super-sensitive owner who claimed we smoked in the place...which we did NOT do...1 person smoked outside and didn't want to throw the butts on the ground so brought them in, put them under water, and then into the trash can. Owner claimed the smoke smell was so horrific that she had to wash everything in the place, including the curtains...and that the next night's renters refused to rent when they walked in so she lost rent...how can that be since we hadn't been gone very long and checkin isn't until 3:00PM and by 12:30 the owner had slapped our card with a $200 cleaning fee! She said the bathroom reeked, but the butts were placed in the trash near the front door. I am allergic to cigarette smoke, but had no reaction to any smoke inside because there was NONE.
5,4 Okay
Pros: The location to volcanoes national park is excellent Free parking and internet are included A wonderful continental breakfast is included for your stay. Bathroom is large and clean.
Cons: The carpet is old, stained and does not appear to be cleaned. Could feel the springs of the bed at night. Television only played one channel on a loop Limited arrival information.
8,5 Excellent
Pros: The location
Cons: The humidity
3,0 Mediocre
Pros: pleasant decor,nice site
Cons: This is not a B&B they had some yogert and stale muffins in the room.
8,3 Excellent
Pros: We loved the quiet location surrounded by trees, very close to the park. Breakfast was good and convenient in the room. Lovely decoration in the room, hawaiian nature!
Cons: A table in the room would be a great asset to take the breakfast, also some darkening curtains to enjoy a good night of sleep before hitting the volcano park.
8,0 Excellent
Pros: The bed was very comfortable and the breakfast was very good. We were unable to use it for safety reasons with our kids being too young, but having the lava tube on site is a really nice feature.
Cons: The bathroom was pretty small and had the only sink, so if you have kids and are trying to multitask with morning routine, it can be a bit tough.
9,2 Excellent
Pros: Just a small B&B was very clean and well cared for the beds were comfortable
Cons: Clean and beautiful grounds

9,0 Excellent
Pros: The staff.
Cons: The driveway was long.
5,0 Okay
Pros: Location to the National Park.
Cons: Rooms had a bad smell. The breakfast was cold and not at all like what was featured on the website. I would not recommend this hotel to anyone. Please take it off your list.
10,0 Excellent
Pros: Great room, friendly staff - Dan and Nikki were very kind and efficient. Breakfast portions were just right. Quick access to the park.( Also, Ohelo's restaurant right down the street was great for lunch and dinner.)
Cons: Wish the driveway were better. We almost didn't want to drive in at first, but once you're in front of the house it's beautiful.
9,6 Excellent
Pros: Everything was great. We enjoyed the family style breakfast and the great conversation. The room was good. The staff was excellent and super friendly. We always like volcano village. Thank you for the awesome stay!
Cons: No worries, just small kine maintenance.
9,0 Excellent
Pros: Convenient location, nice property, friendly staff, reasonable breakfast. Recommend the place to others
8,8 Excellent
Pros: The hosts are very friendly and helpful! Great place to stay, they will go out of their way to make sure you’re ok. Room is very spacious, breakfast is ok too.
9,2 Excellent
Pros: Very cool place amidst trees, huge room and very delicious breakfast. Nice host. We would definitely recommend. Perfekt Location for volcano NP.
6,2 Good
Pros: Location is very close to Volcano National Park. Staff was friendly.
Cons: The bed is very worn out and uncomfortable. Whole place is outdated. As there are very few accommodations in the area they have no reason to improve and it shows. It isn't run down but it isn't nice either.
4,2 Okay
Pros: - spacious rooms - comfortable beds - good location (as all other hotels in Vulcano Village)
Cons: This is a bed and breakfast, not a hotel as it seems to be on booking.com. Probably due to a recent owner change, the rating is much better than it should be. There is neither wifi nor daily room service, although it is stated in the booking.com profile of this family’s house. The rooms are not clean and the bathroom stank, maybe because of the dog who lives in this house. The breakfast is included but it is not a buffet. Instead, it will be prepared by the family who lives in this house directly but there is no choice of what you‘ll be served (see image attached) and sometimes there is not even orange juice. If you show up for breakfast after 8 am, your food is already cold.
6,3 Good
Pros: Very friendly host & nice breakfasts. Rain forest setting and a handy location to Volcano National Park.
Cons: Not a very comfortable bed and linen needs upgrading.

Overview Reviews
Located in Volcano, Kilauea Hospitality Group is in a rural location, within a 5-minute drive of Cooper Center and Volcano Garden Arts. The front desk is staffed during limited hours. Free self parking is available onsite.
1,0 Poor
Pros: Check-in was easy, they left us an envelope with the key and directions.
Cons: It's an old house on a dark street with no one from the Kilauea Hospitality Group staying in the house. We were two females traveling together. The whole feeling of staying in a house with other unknown guests with no one from the hospitality group present felt unsafe. The bed is directly under a window with the curtains in your face, we had to sleep at the foot of the bed. Also, my friend and I have allergies and the room smelled like mold and it was difficult to breathe. We could not stay another night for health and safety reasons.
10,0 Excellent
Pros: The room was amazing. We were given an upgrade to a king room. This room had a fire place, double shower, mood lighting, kitchenette and a super comfy bed. Art work on the walls in our room and common areas. A Hot tub where you could relax after a lon
10,0 Excellent
Pros: we were upgraded from a bedroom with a shared bath to a 2 bed room that was really unique for $--
10,0 Excellent
Pros: I arrived late in dark but front desk gave me the evelop with key and instruction so it was easy to find the room. Also they sent detail instruction couples of days before the trip so you have information in advance to prepare for trip. The location is 5 mins from valcano national park. It is convenient but you have to prepare food and water because kitchen houses closes at sunset.
9,0 Excellent
Pros: Really quiet and clean!
7,9 Good
Pros: Big Space, location
Cons: Shampoo and conditioner, no body wash
7,0 Good
Pros: Location was very convenient to Volcano Village (1/2 mile walk to almost all the stores and restaurants, weather permitting) and to the National Park entrance, less than a mile up the road. Nice setting, with deep lanai (covered porch).
Cons: The Lokahi Lodge room (at a pleasantly cool 4,000 elevation) is heated and dehumidified by a dehumidifier which was uncomfortably loud, much like a window-mount air conditioner (without the rumbling/shaking). The floor is wall to wall carpeting in the main room (bathroom is tile floor and walls), and I suspect held a bit of mold (it's a humid climate in Volcano) because I suffered itchy eyes there, until we checked out the next morning.
10,0 Excellent
Pros: Room 103 was suite-size and decorated wonderfully to match its rainforest setting. One could gaze at the view for as long as Thoreau contemplated Walden Pond. The overall ambience is warm and inviting while the prices (and star level) are modest.
Cons: No
8,0 Excellent
Pros: Location, large bathroom, hot tub
9,0 Excellent
Pros: ABOVE EXPECTATIONS
10,0 Excellent
Pros: We decided to try an upgrade that was offered when we got there. Totally worth it. The room was amazing with views overlooking a beautiful garden but the room itself was fabulous. Tons of character & a really cool stone bathroom/shower area. Very exotic!
1,0 Poor
Pros: Leaving it.
Cons: Terrible, misleading service. They advertise National Park accessibility, without mentioning the part of the park they are in has been closed for months. At checkin they clarify the open part is on the other side of the island. Substandard, overpriced.
7,6 Good
Pros: Beautifully designed and themed hotel, great breakfast, lovely jacussi!

Pros: Very comfortable bed

Pros: We had spent the day visiting the Volcano National park, At the End of the Road B & B was 5mins from the park entrance, we were able to wash, change and found a nice place for dinner, then finish the night off watching the glow from the crater before taking the short trip back to our bed. The B & B was cosy and very comfortable, with an electric blanket if required, our hosts were very friendly and chatty whilst making our breakfast before we had to head to the airport.
Cons: Nothing.

10,0 Excellent

Pros: The room was clean and comfortable. The home made cake was delicious. Wish I could stay a few more days to enjoy the beautiful property.
Cons: Nothing.

Pros: Joan is the owner of the space and she will take care of you like if you were family. It was such a good time to have stayed there. Super easy access to the Volcano Park and in easy access to other locations within the island. It is in a place where you can appreciate the wild and the amazing sky.
