Cons: Beds not made up on arrival at 10pm with two children under 4! Sofa bed in lounge broken so had to sleep on floor. Heater broken so freezing cold. Chalet run down
7,1 Good
Pros: Staff were great and helpful. The rest of the facilities were great and the entertainment was very good.plenty for the kids to do.
Cons: The chalets are old and need to be updated.sink hot water tap didn't work and no plug. Door was swollen and was hard to shut and left a gap for a breeze as we went in October it was a little cold. Probably ok in summer.

Cons: We had no toilet roll, no duvet, laundry left outside 199 for 3 days , even though several Staff had passed it. No slides working in pool area. Shop sold dog food , but I wasn’t allowed to bring my dog :( would have loved to have brought my dog rather than paying for a dog sitter !

Pros: Lovely old building in a pretty location
Cons: Some of the decor is old - carpet’s frayed etc Communication was poor over the closure. We was informed was closing Saturday on Friday night but when asked about a refund when leaving was told decisions still hadn’t been made. Very frustrating and understand this is difficult times but went home 24 hours early as informed spa closed restaurant closed and informed hotel was closed.

Pros: Friendly and welcoming nice facilities and room
Cons: Four poster wasnt ideal very creaky and mattress not the best.

Pros: Really nice spa
10,0 Excellent
Pros: Very nice second stay here, clean and comfortable and a nice room.
Cons: N/A
6,7 Good
Pros: People were friendly and the front of the old building is lovely.
Cons: The hotel property is a little tired and could do with modernising throughout. The spa facilities are more akin to a local public leisure facility rather than a relaxing luxurious treat.
5,4 Okay
Pros: Location
Cons: Room was not worth £140. The view from our room was overlooking a flat roof covered in moss. Very basic room with no luxury facilities. Would not recommend. The staff were very friendly but not very attentive. Food was good but overpriced.

9,0 Excellent
Pros: Really friendly staff, nothing too much for them. The lovely breakfast waitress remembered what we liked and had them on our table before we asked. A real treat having breakfast cooked to order. Bedrooms were small but adequate and comfortable.
Cons: Pool was too hot!
6,0 Good
Pros: Sadly was very disappointed upon arrival had paid £140 fair price for what was supposed to be a deluxe room ? Our friends booked a cosy double paying less ? There room was very nice ours not so ? It was just luck that member of staff was on the ball she did her utmost to offer us alternate rooms as they offered us the penthouse first ? Not at all to my taste I like traditional /comfy homely rooms in this type of hotel ? This was not that I’m happy to tell you more should you wish
Cons: Eventually they gave us a more traditional room like the one advertised! Yes the bed was clean but the housekeeping In General could certainly do with help . The grout/filler around bath was awful / black and honestly think there is no excuse for this whatsoever . We just stayed for one night luckily. The breakfast was nice and the lovely Italian lady who served us a breath of fresh air
9,0 Excellent
Pros: The caring nature of your staff who kindly moved us to the ground floor when you had a cancellation which enhanced our sta
7,0 Good
Pros: Staff and atmoshere great and location super, breakfast lovely
Cons: Everything great my only issue was the shower in the room was so small and your body touched the shower curtain and I am quite slim , it was quite unpleasant.
10,0 Excellent
Pros: The use of the pool, sauna and jacuzzi is definitely an added bonus. Also if you give enough notice, you can book yourself in for different treatments.. Massages etc. Unfortunately we left it too late with it being valentines and there was no availability left but its great to know its an extra you can choose. Rye Lodge breakfast is delicious, one of the best, with plenty of selection to keep everyone happy. Rye Lodge is perfect as it is soo close to the high Street with their cobbled streets and fab little shops and also the many places you can go out to eat and drink.
Cons: The bathrooms need redecorating as they look very dated compared to the rest of the decor. That's the only thing that let's Rye Lodge down. Everything else is fantastic, especially their breakfast.
6,0 Good
Pros: Location is perfect for a visit to Rye Room was large and airy, bed was great, but the whole place needs a make over, hopefully without taking anything from the character of the place Breakfast was good, plenty of fresh fruit and good cooked breakfast, although a selection of bread rather than sliced white and brown would have been good. Staff were relaxed and very helpful and friendly.
Cons: General decor and condition of the building is not good. Its character and staff are excellent, however this cannot compensate for the condition of the building. The room rate indicates that this premises has aspirations of being a high quality establishment, however the reality is that the condition of the building is far from that standard

9,6 Excellent
Pros: It is a lovely old property in a perfect location in the centre of Rye and with an amazing history which the staff are very helpful in explaining. All the staff were very friendly and helpful. The beds were very comfortable and the food good. It was very cosy especially sat in the lounge with the fire and a drink. We early enjoyed our stay.
8,0 Excellent
Pros: Food was good. Staff very friendly. The building is fascinating and full of history and character.
Cons: The room was a little disappointing but it was a single so a little cramped.
10,0 Excellent
Pros: The hole experience the hotel, food, etc was amazing
9,0 Excellent
Pros: The greeting on arrival and helpful staff with luggage. Room comfortable and cosy. Good choice for breakfast. Bar meal in evening good value.
Cons: Nothing really. Only problem was parking as little room and having to leave keys at reception to prevent blocking cars in. No way round this small issue.
6,0 Good
Pros: It’s a nice little place but the food was awful. I’d recommend going for a pint but perhaps not stay the night.
8,3 Excellent
Pros: Helpful , very friendly staff throughout the hotel. Excellent food in both the bar and the restaurant. Perfect location for exploring Rye.
Cons: Our room was on the small side, particularly the bathroom. My wife is disabled and the room access was up two flights of narrow steep stairs. You should mention this in your property description. Limited car parking - on arrival we were told we couldn’t park on site but to the hotels credit they did sort this out.

Pros: Dinner was very limited.in variety I know we were near the beach but I didn’t there to be so much fish and shellfish . All the mains came on there own so you had no choice to Order extras. Drinks were over priced as well . No coffee or tea In the rooms either . I wanted to stay here for a long time but I do t know what all the fuss was really a total let down
9,0 Excellent
Pros: Great location, food was great! Nice touch with the afternoon tea and excellent homemade cake. Lovely decor. Handy having the Wellington boots to use on the beach.
Cons: Chaotic check in, unsure who was available to serve. Everyone appeared to be held until a certain time which meant it took a long time. Breakfast was really tasty but only 1 member of staff, we received the wrong food. But when it did arrive it was lovely. For the price of the hotel I think a coffee machine and snacks should be complimentary in the room.
10,0 Excellent
Pros: The hotel was beautiful designed, warm and cosy. The staff were attentive whilst still giving guests plenty of space. The food and drink were all superb and overall we had a fantastic stay.
9,0 Excellent
Pros: I thought the place was exceptional. I was a bit apprehensive about travelling alone but I needed some me time after a stressful week, the staff put me at ease and went above and beyond to ensure my stay was perfect. One member of staff even offered to go and source scallops for me! Value for money wise this place is fantastic, your stay includes coffee and cake in the afternoon, breakfast and relaxation sessions like yoga, mindfulness beach walks and wild swimming. I loved my yoga class, it was just what I needed. The attention to detail is fantastic, the owner is an interior designer and that becomes clear wherever you look. The owner clearly has a good eye and all the decor is incredibly tasteful and exceeds Instagram standards! It all created a lovely relaxing and warm atmosphere which is just what I needed. I also loved little touches like bath robes, really nice toiletries and beautiful Egyptian cotton sheets. I felt thoroughly relaxed after a couple of days of beach walks, yoga, reading and eating! I also did a skype interview in the room and the wifi was great. All and all I loved my stay, they went above and beyond to make it perfect and I'm looking forward to come back but with my partner next time!
Cons: The only thing that didn't exceed my expectation was that you had to pay extra for a proper breakfast. I would have preferred to pay more for the room and get breakfast included.
5,0 Okay
Pros: The continental breakfast was nice. The location was 5 minutes drive from rye and a walk across the road to the beach.
Cons: As requested I emailed ahead of our stay to get the twin bed set up. This was not ready on arrival. The room was dirty, surface level clean but all corners, skirtings etc were dusty and in some cases dirty. The bathroom floor was particularly dirty and there were stains on the bed cushions and Small holes in the bed sheets . The room was in need of a maintenance visit and would have benefitted from having small items looked at like the mouldy bath sealant replaced, the toilet roll holder fixed. Attention to detail was lacking. We chose this hotel for its extras , one being complimentary Pilates. I set an alarm to wake up early to take advantage. Arrived in reception and waited for 25 minutes until I was told the Pilates teacher was sick. Unfortunate but better communication between the Pilates instructor and the hotel would have helped my wasted time. Our room included breakfast. It’s not clear that this is only continental breakfast. Cooked breakfast is extra .
9,0 Excellent
Pros: The Gallifant is a chic boutique hotel with everything it offered being of the best quality. Delightful staff, very relaxed atmosphere and we left rested and well-fed. We shall return.

Pros: Nice hotel breakfast very good staff friendly, hotel could do with a bit of update
7,1 Good
Pros: Location
Cons: Cooked to order breakfast was extremely slow 40 mins wait, excuse was the fact that it was cooked to order but 3 other tables we’re served before us . At least 1 having what I think was probably our breakfast. Don’t mind but honest would have been preferred. We all get it wrong sometimes.
8,0 Excellent
Pros: Breakfast was good, set on Saturday but a buffet on Sunday which was better. Room was very pleasant, would have preferred a divan bed to the slat base & frame. Plenty of parking
Cons: The fire alarm going off on a Saturday morning.
10,0 Excellent
Pros: Really lovely warm welcome when we arrived. Consistently helpful staff. Really nice conservatory- style dining room, airy and light. Dinner menu wasn't extensive, but there were good choices and the food was good and well presented. Breakfast was lovely - wide range of buffet choices, including fresh, nicely presented hot food. Location is within easy walking distance of the centre of Rye, and parking is available.
Cons: Decor (carpets in particular) is a little tired - obviously well-used ... not a criticism, just an observation. Must be good, if that's the worst a guest can say!!
7,0 Good
Pros: Very friendly helpful staff
Cons: The shower pressure quite low and fixed on the wall .no shower cap if you wanted to keep hair dry. Very limited selection in room for morning tea and uht milk .

5,0 Okay
Pros: Good location with free parking, close to shops and restaurants. Good breakfast. Pleasant staff.
Cons: Our room had stains on the carpet, so not nice. Bathroom had black areas on the tiles and around the edges of the floor, looked like mould. Carpets in the communal area didn't seem to fit the floor.

Pros: The breakfast was fantastic, a small but good quality choice of continental items then a cooked breakfast to order, which was a large portion and delicious. I had drinks and dinner in the bar/restaurant, comfortable, good prices and great food. The location was very central and parking was available for free, right outside the hotel, which I really appreciated. The staff were friendly and helpful. Room was comfortable and I liked having a bath as well as a shower, and the ability to open the windows to air the room.
Cons: Only a couple of small quibbles, that are likely to be found in historic places like this. Firstly, there was a bit of noise to be heard from the corridor and neighbouring rooms but nothing serious. The hotel temperature in general was overheated for me and I had the room radiators turned off. I find this a lot in hotels - the temperature is often about 22-25C for some reason which I find far too hot for sleeping. Luckily I could open the window although this did introduce a bit of noise. I had trouble sleeping the first night because of this but got used to it by the second night. The hotel had provided a fan in the room as well.

Pros: We had a lovely large suite with a very comfortable bed and sofa. We appreciated the turn down service and the glass of liqueur awaiting us on our return from dinner. The owners were very friendly and welcoming and gave helpful recommendations on places to eat and the breakfast was superb. We were even offered a glass of champagne to celebrate my husband's birthday!
Cons: Difficult to find anything to complain about! the water could have been hotter in our bathroom but this was a temporary problem and easily fixed. The external staircase that we were asked to use was a fire escape and was a bit steep for those with mobility issues.
