Pros: The location is excellent. Prague is a compact city and we were able to walk to all the areas we wanted to see. A wide variety of dining and shopping was also available within walking distance. The breakfast buffet was excellent with much more selection than we usually find and the food was excellent in quality. The staff was very helpful and their English language skills were excellent. Two weeks after our stay ended I submitted an email question and that was completely answered within 24 hours. I was surprised with a birthday card and very nice treat left in our room even though I had not let them know my birthday was during our stay. The hotel is elegant while retaining a historic feel.

Room was huge with luxurious decor and feel, staff were great, breakfast downstairs was so nice as well. Located within easy walk of most all old town attractions. It was just great. Central to everywhere you need to go and heading toward the Old Square leads you past interesting eateries, shops, bars and restaurants. 10 mins max walking distance to the square another 10-15 to the Old Bridge. Be sure to enjoy the side streets and alleyways off the main streets. 5 mins in opp direction leads to another market space and shopping malls also very handy food supermarket. Perfectly situated opposite hotel is a Thai Massage to massage the legs/feet etc.

Pros: Everything about this hotel was wonderful. We arrived, jet-lagged, at 1pm and our room was ready. We were able to settle in, have a badly needed nap before going out for a walk. The hotel itself is centrally located, a ten minute walk to the old town square but in a very quiet neighbourhood. Our room, spacious and impeccably clean was at one end of the hotel, facing the courtyard and calm. The all-day breakfast was very appreciated as we were able to go out early one morning and come back to have breakfast at 10 am. Many hotels close their breakfast room at that time. All that being said, what made this an exceptional stay was the lady at the reception (whose name sadly and shamefully I cannot remember right now) who was so incredibly helpful and cheerful. She gave us recommendations for restaurants, told us the best way to get places and even reserved the restaurant for us one night. You can even buy tram tickets at the reception which is so very helpful. Dekuji! If we go back to Prague, I would not hesitate to stay here again!

Cons: There is no board to put outside the room for dnd or making up the room. The room service staff have a fixed timing and they knock ur door daily until u wake up n attend to them. This was a bit disturbing. And the rooms arent soundproof either, could hear the noises from the corridor. the lighting in the room needs improvement. The water bottles should have been complimentary atleast.

Very kind people at the reception, always ready to help you in every occasion and situazion. I'll definitely come back here for my next trip in Prague. Breakfast is also very good with a lot of choices to choose from. Also the geographical location is perfect as it is very very close to the city center and to the metro station Andel (line B).

There was a guy only making fresh the eggs - Poor quality of material for breakfast ( cheese, bread specially) I would say poor management! I upgraded my room for executive rooms, not really worth it! I went for sauna, the lady said: your name is not on the list! Disappointing!!! The sauna and fitness area are sooo crowded as it is not only for the hotel guests!! Very small sauna; two dry sauna rooms and one whirlpool, and that is all!

Cons: The breakfast is very good, although I would disagree with the previous reviews that it's the best breakfast ever. I would say that by the standards of a 5-star hotel it's just normal. Don't get me wrong, it does offer very good options but not the range that I'd usually see in a 5-star hotel. Also, I think the hotel needs to invest a bit more into quality checks in the rooms. In the room I stayed, the aircon stopped working in the middle of the night one day, then the lever in the bathroom was stuck and would not let change the shower modes, one of the sockets was not functioning so the stand-lamp wouldn't work, and the TV remote control had some issues that it sometimes you had to come very close to the TV to turn it on and sometimes you had to do so manually after which the control would allow you to switch between the programmes. Sure, all those complaints were dealt with super fast and efficiently, but they should not have occurred to begin with if there had been more thorough inspections. That's the bit that actually disappointed me.

Cons: The first room we were given seemed to be somewhat “at the back of the hotel” and felt a little dungeon-y. The windows were facing another wall and the bed was almost unbearable to sleep on, very firm and rickety. However we asked to change rooms and they were full except the last two nights of our stay where we were switched to a room with a great view of the Main Street with huge double windows and the bathroom had a lovely window in it as well. Bed in second room was 7/10, they seem to be very firm.

Cons: Their swipe cards were extremely flakey - they would work once in the lift, then stop. Or they'd work in the lift but then not in my room. I had to go back to reception repeatedly and in the end was given three different cards and had to hope that at least one of them would let me into the room at any given time. They were also doing construction and drilling started at 6am! I understand that it's a weekday and it's basically off season but come on! Lastly, I personally found their room service menu kind of strange - I didn't come to Prague to have fish and chips, a burger or pasta. I wanted to see some Czech food!

Cons: Our room was on the fourth floor, but it was still very noisy from the street traffic and it has noticeable noise from the water pipes whenever anyone on higher floors used their toilets or took a shower. Make sure you have ear plugs if you plan to sleep in this hotel. The hotel is used by large tour groups, so the lobby, front desk, and breakfast service were very busy and crowded depending on the schedules of the tour groups.

Upon arriving, the hotel met all my expectations, the staff was very nice and the location was about as good as you're going to get in Old Town of Prague. I was traveling solo to meet up with my son on his Study Abroad trip but I will be returning with my wife and I would stay again for sure. Reasonable price, nicely furnished, attentive staff and great location!

Hallway is dark and it get scary to walk in the middle of the night.

The entry corridor has a built in unit to hold clothes, a safe, a fridge and the coffee machine. The bathroom was large with a well-sized shower. Room 630 is close to the elevator however we never heard any elevator noise nor traffic. We loved their breakfast. There is a wonderful spread of options to choice from. They have an omelette station, scrambled eggs, sausages, fruits, baked goods, paté, cold cuts, greens, and even honey still extracting from an actual honey comb. There are so many more options that I can't remember. The service there was excellent. The hotel has a small swimming pool. It's not really big enough to swim laps, more good for a dip and nice for kids to play. Near the pool is a sauna room. It was large and very relaxing.

Pros: We came to Prague by train to Praha Hlavní nádraží. It´s just 5 minutes walk from the train station to the entrance of the hotel. At the same time hotel basically stands on the metro station Muzeum, which makes the travelling to any place extremely comfortable. The entrance, reception is really nice compared to any 4-star business hotel I´ve visited. At the reception we were selected as "VIP guests of the day" and got a room upgrade. So we got a room with a terrace overlooking St. Václav´s square, with breathtaking views of Prague. The reception´s international crew is very friendly and professional. You get excellent mattress, variety of pillows, high quality cosmetics (including dental hygiene and shaving package). We had a request for a AC turn off and the janitor came in 3 minutes. The breakfast offer very good quality premium foods (cheeses, meat, pastries). I´m usually very picky and critical, but here there was nothing to complain.

The hotel is still a very grand hotel, Staff were helpful and polite. Cleanliness was as expected. The Superior room was perfect (much larger than expected). Safe in the wardrobe, with extras, such as iron and board and slippers and gown. Breakfast had a huge range of choice. Can't believe anybody could go hungry! If I were to revisit Prague, I would absolutely stay here again.

Cons: The room was like a sauna! The air conditioning did not work and having the window open was too noisy to sleep. The pillow was practically non existent. Also for a four star hotel there were no tea and coffee facilities in the room. We were told it would cost 10 euros to have one!

Cons: The room whilst huge was showing its age and could do with an update but it was still very comfortable. The pillows were terrible. There was a long wait to check in as it is a large and busy hotel and reception was always busy.

Pros: Location was 5 minutes walk to metro, trams, and restaurants. Police station is around the corner. Five minute walk to the river. Front desk staff was good; the gentleman there was extremely helpful with precise store directions for phone chargers and computer usage. WiFi was good and strong. Hotel was clean and very good breakfast. Breakfast staff was polite and friendly. Quiet hotel. English spoken by the staff was was very good. Highly recommended.

My version: the hotel's location is pretty good as it's close to the center and just near the Vltava river. They allowed us to check in earlier which was very nice because we were very tired (after days of traveling). The checkout guy was very kind and was even smiling.
My girlfriend's version(russian): Я и мой молодой человек останавливались в Отеле Augustus et Otto с 27 по 20 сентября 2018 года. Из плюсов: девушка на рецепшене была довольно милой, всегда была горячая вода, пока мы ждали заселения, налили чаю, находится довольно близко к центру (2 с половиной км от центра Праги).

Cons: Quite old interior and the floor was noisy. Fridge with mini bar didnt operate well. Elevator was also malfunctioning during the stay. But these are minor disadvantages.

Cons: The cleanliness could be addressed at this hotel. Dirty spoons that were never cleaned while we were there but the cup we used for tea was...didn't make any sense. Hairs in the bathroom were also off putting and I think the cleaners do a quick rush job. Also, the system with the room keys is flawed. On a few occasions the hotel receptionist gave us the wrong key back for our room, which isn't safe as it means that perhaps our key could have been given to another guest and they would have access to our room just as easily.

Cons: The hotel advertises 4 stars but I don't know by what standards. It's the same as a decent 3-star in other countries. The room was the size of the bathroom, didn't have AC (just an old fan) and a small TV.

Cons: Room was old and outdated, didn’t really live up to the pictures they provide. The lighting in the room was absolutely horrendous, ceiling light was pretty much useless. Window curtain was broken so you have to play with it or deal with the early morning sun.

My version: this is definitely not a four stars hotel, maybe it used to be but not anymore. I paid 200eu expecting to be welcomed in a luxurious real four stars hotel because we wanted to relax after 2 long weeks of adventures but we were very disappointed, my gf even cried! They first asked us to give a 50 euros deposit for the minibar that contains 3 drinks and 2 chocolates (from billa, the cheapest supermarket) then they gave us vouchers for breakfast because I guess they don't trust anyone even their own customers so we felt very unwelcome. When we entered our room(12), it smelled weird and no it's not because of disinfection, the smell was there every time we entered our room. We had to open windows all the time so we could have some fresh air. We booked a double room, yet it was a twin room (2 single beds put together). The sink pipe in the bathroom was not very often cleaned we could tell as the water was draining very slowly down the pipe. We couldn't use blankets as they were in a pretty bad shape, harsh for the skin and the TV was too small with wires hanging around. Now for the breakfast, every product is from billa (I love billa but I paid 200eu here!), And same breakfast everyday with very poor choice. Every morning there was very loud post Soviet music coming from the kitchen even at 9am when people just woke up! We could hear it from our room!! Also i saw children playing around the kitchen.
My girlfriend's version: он был заявлен как 4 звездочный отель, но на самом деле уровня максимум одной звезды. А денег за него берут как за 4 звезды! Девушки на рецепшене не говорят по-чешски, практически весь персонал русские или украинцы, которые не говорят на английском. Наша комната была меньше заявленной, вода из раковины не желала уходить, покрывало на кровати -- старое, застиранное, все в катышках. Экран телевизора крошечный, все провода наружу. Мы заказали двойную крвоать, а на самом деле это было две сдвинутые кровати и два одеяла, кто-нибудь из нас все время проваливался в щель. Очень тонкие жидкие подушки. На моем пододеяльнике было красное пятно (от свечи?) Вместо кондиционера -- вентилятор. За содержимое минибара с нас взяли депозит 50 евро! Каждый раз, когда мы выходили из отеля, ключ от комнаты надо было сдавать на рецепшн. Завтрак -- по талонам! При этом в столовой оглушительно ревела плохая русская музыка из кухни, невозможно было спокойно позавтракать в тишине. Иногда эту музыку включали также во время уборки комнат, под такое сложно отдыхать. Сам завтрак не очень разнообразный, в картошку добавили бекон, скудный выбор овощей. В последнюю ночь мы уезжали рано утром, так как у нас был самолет, и попросили завтрак с собой. Нам упаковали: одну помидорку (!), 3 куска хлеба, ветчину, сыр, 2 киви, 2 апельсина, поллитра воды, 4 масла (два из них -- маргарин рама), 2 джема и 0,3 сока. Ни ножа, ни вилки. Как есть это в аэропорту? Масло пальцем намазывать? Остались очень недовольны, боль
