Cons: It is in the middle of a busy residential street. Parking is hard to find. I was able to call and the host found a reserved spot for me that cost 9 euros. The problem was that one of the street residents parked a quarter way in front of the spot, which made it hard to get in and out of.

Pros: This place was very convenient for us who stayed just one night in Nurnberg since the hotel is very close to the medieval town and has a parking. The room was however a little bit too small and so even the bathroom but we found a lot of comfort anyway. The bathroom is very modern, luminous and immaculated clean. The very generous and richly varied breakfast is the absolutely best thing with this hotel. The staff in reception as well as in the breakfast room were very kind and service minded.

Cons: We had appreciated to have a kettle to cook te or coffee in the room. I think it is a very welcoming gesture to offer some coffee or tea when arriving at the room. In many other places we had that and even mineral water free of charge in the room. So it is a pity that a nice and convenient hotel like Hotel Burgschmiet Garni do not offer any of that. A couple of additional cushions would also have been great to have.

Pros: Some people give this place a poor rating because it is a block away from the red light district. The hotel itself is great! The women who are working the streets did show up at night and did make some unexpected appearances UP the street from where they work (sitting on a bench outside of the hotel with their robes on), but they didn't cause a scene or anything. I guess as a male this stuff didn't phase me? Whatever, as mentioned, the hotel was great. Kudos!

Women at front desk that checked us in was not very friendly. Didn’t offer any info about the area (ie: had to ask for a map). Didn’t try the breakfast as seemed pricey 22.50 Euros per person.

Pros: The hotel exceeded my expectation. Very friendly staff. The rooms are studios and very comfortable when you travel with kids and you need to cook something quickly (you have all you need). Very good location. Extremely clean. You get two bottles of water and two of beer free of charge. You can park in the hotel which is paid but there is also a possibility to park nearby on the street free of charge. Next year on my way back home, I will absolutely stay there again. I'm planning to check also the other hotels from the chain.

Cons: I made reservation for me and my colleague online at booking.com and during reservation i chose comfort double room and i ve given options to check either twin beds or 1 double bed. I am an oversize guy so i chose double bed option both for me and my colleague. When i arrive at the hotel i checked in, got my key and got into my room and saw that i ve a single bed single room! I walked down to reception and tried to explain the lady at the reception that i booked double room with double beds but she kept on telling me that their system does not allow single person accomodation in a double room. So if person is single and tries to stay in double room the system automatically changes the room to single. And she said there is no price difference! I tried few more times to explain her that i am not asking something extra. I am just askin what i booked! She kept on telling me you didnt reserve your room on our system, you did it on booking.com and its their problem. And i said no its your problem that you cant handle whats goin on between you. At the end she called her manager and the same s***. Plus to that the toilet in my and my colleagues room stinked terribly during our whole 2 day stay. Shortly i neither recommend this hotel to anybody nor stay there myself ever again. There are 2 more options very close by. Just try these!

Cons: I have to start by saying that as a rule we avoid big hotels and prefer smaller family-run hotels. In our experience, and this was true for the Maritim, it was always full of crowds of people in the lobby, same lobby full of suitcases, impossible to take the elevator at times, even in the early morning, etc. etc. Breakfast was a zoo—and it was a huge dining room. The staff could barely keep up and it wasn’t their fault. The internet in the rooms was poor at best. Although the bed was fine the pillows were too soft. This appears to be all over Germany, however. The furniture in our room had some age to it. We avoided one of the chairs that looked like it was (literally) on its last legs! The minibar was stuffed so full that we couldn’t put our own bottled water in the fridge. Sorry, just not going to pay €3 for a bottle of water!

Cons: This was one of many a&o hostels I stayed in when travelling around Germany. Staff here was less trained. Check-in and even getting a beer took longer then elsewhere. I believe it will get better. Another point - don't rely on possibility to do your own cooking. I didn't need the kitchen, was just curious and opened the door....it hasn't been cleaned for years....and there were no knives, cutlery etc...only a few veeeeery dirty pots..otherwise this a&o hostel is an OK place for those looking for a place to sleep

Cons: Bedbugs! I will never come back to this location. It was perhaps the worst hostel/hotel experience I've ever experienced. Once I discover my bed was infested with bedbugs, i immediately went to front desk and requested a room change, by now it was 12:30am and the lobby staff were rude and unhelpful. They charged me full price for a solo room, in addition to what I had paid for the hostel room. They gave me a card key that didn't work 3 times in a row, and finally went up to the 2nd floor room to open the door and the 4th key didnt work, by now it was close to 1:30 am, I had moved my luggage up and down 5 times by now. They used a master card key to finally get the door open and then Never gave me a key to my room. Not only were they incompetent, they had zero customer service skills. Never staying there again.

Cons: Very disappointed with the continental hotel, despite the proximity to the train station and the center of nurembergh. Very poorly maintained and dirty hotel, we had issues with bugs in the room that appeared to be ticks. We were offered insecticide to try to solve the problem and I noticed it was offered to other rooms as well because I saw other insecticide sprays in the hallway.

Cons: The room had no toilet and the shower was a cubicle next to the bed... the communal loo was not mentioned on the hotel details. The facilities list also included parking which was in a multi-story park costing €18. The room had not been fully cleaned...the carpet had obviously not been vacuumed. There were no bedside lights, and only one plug socket near the window.
