Great location! Nice room!
Slow check in.
Loved the history of the hotel. Like going back in time. Room was quiet. The coffee and muffins were a nice touch. Can’t beat the location.
6:30 to 9:00 is a bit early for the coffee/ muffins, especially on a Sunday. 7:30-10 would be better.
The staff was nice, the location was so central to many tourist attractions as well as good finds, the room wasn't too cramped like most are, very clean and quiet throughout the hotel as well!
The rubber stopper in the back of our toilet broke (natural wear and tear- couldn't have been prevented) and we manually fixed it each time as we did not want to waste time on maintenance visiting us but we left a message for them to fix it for the next guests.
The hotel was very beautiful and the PM staff were so helpful since I had to book last minute. But it ends there...
For starters, we checked in on February 8th for 1 night. our room was freezing cold and the heaters were on (now I get that that hotel has an old heating system). but if they had the heat on then the heaters would be warm/hot to the touch and they were ice cold. when we called down they sent someone up to look at it and he said he’d take care of it and it should be warmer within a half hour. It was freezing the entire rest of our night. Then when we did check out as we were leaving my friend wasn’t feeling well and we had already left the room. He asked the front desk to use the lobby restroom (to which then gave him the key) he was in there a little longer than normal (having had an upset stomach, nothing major). Now I’m waiting with our luggage in the lobby, and I hear from across the room the manager or front desk agent (they were both standing there) scream at me and say “hey where’s your friend why is he still in there?” “We need that key back” (mind you no one was waiting to use the restroom and there was a good amount of guests in the lobby as they were yelling at me. And when I had to tell them that he wasn’t feeling good, their response? “Well tell him to call an ambulance, that’s not our problem we need they key back”. I’ve never been so embarrassed in my life nor have I ever been talked to like that by any hotel management. I will never say with your hotel again.
The hotel is from 1904 and almost nothing has changed. No breakfast (free coffee and muffins) options nor bar. Rooms are old and heating was not working properly (also other guests complained about this so it was not just our room). Corridor would smell intens (onions and garlic). I notices mice traps in the lobby area.
The hotel needs to be updated to meet a 2 star rating. Staff was not very friendly.
