    Clean, big rooms, comfortable

The person at the front desk gave a horrible dinner recommendation. Was really looking forward to a nice dinner with good food with the restaurant he recommended was empty (on a Sat night) and not very good, although accommodating. Also the food in the lounge at the hotel is pricey yet mediocre. My steak came out room temp and I had to send it back. They gave me a new one and it was hot but beyond salty. I was already really hungry so I just ate it ..

The Library room at the bar offers a very rare amenity for Manhattan — a posh, reservable bar available only to hotel guests (and their guests) at night. We hosted drinks with friends there both nights, and the private space, excellent service, and fantastic selection of fancy cocktails & wines was a hit that impressed everyone in our group. The restaurant is also excellent. And there simply isn’t a better location than the NoMad neighborhood for a vacation weekend in Manhattan — nearly everything you’d want to do is within walking distance, short cab ride, or an easy subway hop since the 1/2/3 and 4/5/6 are a block away and the N/Q/R passes right under you and heads for Times Square, Central Park, or SoHo and downtown and Brooklyn In the other direction.

The reproduction, late 1800’s, French rooms could have been good, but the execution is botched. Specifically, the room lacked the 5-star bathroom facilities you’d expect for more than $500 a night. Instead, they have an odd toilet cave built behind the TV (with a door so loud that you’re guaranteed to wake anyone staying with you if you use the cave during the night). The nearby Ace (which is solidly 4-star) did a much better job executing on modernized, vintage rooms. And it’s half the price of the NoMad. I seriously considered eating the cancellation charge and immediately checking out when we first saw the room and the ridiculous bathroom situation.

Wow! Just Wow The check in was great. All staff very helpful. The room is large, well appointed, good lighting, and comfy linens. I like that you can enter hotel and into elevators without crossing the lobby. The bars and restaurants are amazing. Don't miss the cheeseburger. And the library bar reserved for use of guests was perfect for business meetings. Location very convenient. Excellent value for the money.

There is nothing I didn't like ... having to leave?

they let me check in early. the room was a good size. there was good noise insulation.

The front desk were cold and seemingly uninterested both on check in and check out, not a good start or finish. The morning coffee station had run out both times I tried to get some - there should be a nespresso machine in the room at this price point ($500/night), felt it poor there isn't. The room itself was good, but the cleaners didn't bother folding pyjamas - just changed the sheets. Again, not the experience I'm used to in 5*. All in all, I very much doubt I'd return.
