The location is great, very central and everything in downtown easy to reach (even by foot).
It was very loud, I had to sleep with noise cancelling headphones on to at least get some rest. My request to change rooms couldn't be satisfied. Even accepting that New York is generally a noisy place, the hotel could have done better and it's not a good value for the pretty high cost. Shower was cold most of the time, rooms are very small (almost not enough to open a medium-sized suitcase).
If the room faces the main road, you won't sleep at night, way too noisy with trucks running all night long. The rooms facing the pool are comfortable. It's good only for few nights stay, if you're staying longer you'll find that many amenities are missing.
Loved everything about Dream Downtown
The bed is very comfy, which is quite ironic as you can't sleep due to the music from the rooftop bar.
If you get allocated a room on a higher floor, let's say 8 and above forget about sleeping. Pumping music with strong base will get through your earplugs...
Excellent staff, lovely room on the second floor where the pool is located.
The Dream Downtown is a futuristic-looking hotel that is easily one of the hippest joints in the area. An edgier layout showcasing an industrial-meets-luxury design is perfect for the trend-conscious travel and partiers.
In conjunction with the Maritime Hotel, Dream Downtown blends public spaces together in a unique way. The modern style plays on the building’s history as a maritime operations center and provides guest with a bohemian, eclectic feel featuring velvet chairs, button ottomans and sofas, cowhide benches, and funky orb lighting.
The 316 rooms of the Dream Downton hotel, classified into Bronze, Silver, Gold, and Platinum categories, did not have a renovation. They have a hyper-modern style with automated systems, sleek white sofas, wall-mounted shelf desks, chrome lamps, minibars, flat screen TVs, and porthole windows with a great city-view. In addition to traditional bathroom amenities, and dental kits with Q-tips, cotton balls, and mouthwash.
The Dream Downtown hotel is in a commuter-friendly location between Manhattan's stylish Meatpacking District and Chelsea neighborhoods. It is away from the hustle and bustle of Midtown and near a wide variety of attractions including Chelsea Market, High Line, Whitney Museum of American Art, Atlantic Theater Company, Chelsea Piers, Hudson River Park, and Madison Square Gardens, and Union Square. A decent amount of shops, restaurants, art galleries, theaters, and cafes are also nearby.
Amenities on site at Dream Downtown are a rooftop lounge, underground club, two restaurants, 24-hour fitness center, a posh salon, and a 5,000 square-foot pool area. The pool area known as "The Beach" brings a taste of the tropics to the concrete jungle. Dream Downtown’s trendy rooftop club, PHD, offers breathtaking views of the Manhattan skyline, while the rock-music club, The Electric Room, has cocktails and cool British-pub décor.
The Dream Downtown hotel offers various dining and nightlife space that can be enjoyed by all or booked for private events. Whether at the pool deck, basement bar and club, rooftop lounge, or sleek restaurant, party-goers will have plenty of activities to keep them busy day and night.
