10,0 Excellent
Pros: We stayed one night here with our dog and can’t fault anything. The standard was set with coffee we were served with when we arrived early before we walked the dog. After this, things got better. Check in was quick, the room was spotless and very comfortable with a large bathroom and an excellent, well priced minibar selection. Our evening meal was excellent and the bar very comfortable for evening drinks. Breakfast was incredible with a great selection of freshly cooked meals and a large buffet selection catering for all needs. What was most surprising was how reasonable the prices were. From the room to the meal and the drinks, we felt like we had a bargain. Finally, the best part of the Mulberry Inn is the staff. Really helpful and polite and made us feel very welcome and comfortable. It’s hard to recommend this place more.

Pros: Beautiful decor and atmosphere. Impeccable hosts.
5,0 Okay
Pros: Breakfast was good, though didn't get exactly what we ordered....
Cons: We didn't get the beds we booked, i.e. a double and a single in the same room. Instead we got 2 singles, which wasn't a problem, but we were then charged the same price of 200 pounds, which I thought was already very expensive for what we were getting. The bathroom was nothing special and there was no towel rail or anywhere to hang towels.....
9,2 Excellent
Pros: The duck and lamb served at dinner were exceptionally tender and well presented. Breakfast was generously proportioned. The interior contains some charming rooms with fires burning in inglenook fireplaces, traditional furniture, good lighting and a jolly bar. The village is set in a very pretty valley with places to walk in abundance.
Cons: nothing.

Chainbridge Hotel - Llangollen

8,8 Excellent (460 reviews)
Overview Reviews
Idyllic countryside spa retreat in North Wales. In a sublime setting where you can truly get away from it all, the Wild Pheasant Hotel & Spa, BW Signature Collection fuses the traditional charm of its original 19th century building with a luxury contemporary wing and soothing spa facilities. It is nestled among the stunning scenery of the Vale of Llangollen in North Wales, close to both Wrexham and Chester. So whether you are here to hill walk, sightsee, shop until you drop or make new business contacts, the hotel makes a fantastic base. It is no wonder it has become a part of our coveted BW Signature Collection. Our 47 elegantly decorated bedrooms include executive rooms and suites, as well as rooms with disabled access. Our popular Dee Valley Suite even has its own private balcony with a hot tub. There is onsite parking for 80 cars, plus free Wi-Fi in all areas and an excellent choice of dining options to make your stay as comfortable and stress-free as possible.
5,1 Okay
Pros: The "Junior Suite" (which is actually a larger bedroom and a bathroom) is a completely different and higher standard of room. I was moved to this room eventually, after complaining about the poor quality of the first two rooms provided.
Cons: Standard room in the older part of the hotel (and I tried two) were of poor quality. Poor and tired decor, cobwebs, stains and broken furniture. The bar food was of dubious quality for the price e.g. £11.95 for a burger (which was quite literally a dry meat pattie in a bun, with no tomato, no onions, no lettuce) and fries. Wifi only works in the "suites" section of the hotel.
8,0 Excellent
Pros: Breakfast was quite basic, but if you wanted something different staff would be happy to do their best.
Cons: Evening menu was the same each night and felt it was over priced and the wine was expensive and didn't offer house wine which is usually cheaper . The quality could have been better to actually justify the price.
8,0 Excellent
Pros: We booked the hotel as it was near to an event we were attending. Lovely staff, warm rooms and comfy beds. Spa added a bit more to our experience. It's a shame the snow cut short our visit as we would have loved to have been able to explore the town.
10,0 Excellent
Pros: We have stayed quite a few times over the years and love the space and now with the refurbishment it looks lovely .The staff have always been very friendly and helpful .
10,0 Excellent
Pros: Very pleasant staff, perfect location, use of the spar, rooms comfortable.
10,0 Excellent
Pros: Very good facilities been there quite a few times
Cons: Na
7,3 Good
Pros: Friendly staff and neat attractive building. Cosy bar. Good facilities. Very good starting point for anyone wanting to explore that part of Wales. Better than many other 3 star hotels we have seen.
Cons: The decor could be freshened up - black doors spoil the rooms.
8,0 Excellent
Pros: how helpfull the staff were at the hotel and how clean and comfy the whole stay was oh and the price was fairly reasonable.
5,3 Okay
Pros: Convenient - comfortable food was very good
Cons: It was explained when we arrived that the television signal was paying up, and that we would have problems with some channels - we were told that an engineer would be putting it right that afternoon but no improvement was seen - we stayed at this hotel approx a year ago and had the same problem, coincidence or not?
8,0 Excellent
Pros: We had a wonderful weekend, the staff were friendly the room was clean and the spa was great.
5,3 Okay
Pros: The Spa facilities
Cons: The decor was shabby and could do with a lick of paint updating
5,6 Okay
Pros: a very pleasant ambience.
Cons: We prefer to have a flexible shower, rather than a fixed showerhead. Coffee was a bit weak. This may seem nit-picking.
6,0 Good
Pros: Excellent location and good food
Cons: The standard rooms, which we were in, are rather tired. The welcome book advises they're to be refurbished in early 2008.
7,6 Good
Pros: Friendly staff, ideal location
Cons:
7,2 Good
Pros: Excellent Staff. Most helpful and obliging.Ambiance. Good Value.
Cons: No

Cons: Nothing to suggest.
Gales of Llangollen - Llangollen - Building
7
8,7 Excellent (789 reviews)
R1 463+
Overview Reviews
A glorious Wine Bar and Hotel in two Georgian facade buildings. Wood panelling providing character it opened in 1977. Its tempting to say not much has changed in terms of atmosphere because although it has grown overall it has continued to keep its rooms small and now numbers 20 tables in the wine bar. The upper floors became sixteen en-suite guest rooms. The fifteenth century cellar holds vast quantities of very excellent wine. The Wine Bar and its reputation has flourished and draws in folk from every corner of the earth – each to be plied with wine and food and conversation and responding with degrees of loyalty which see many returning now armed with grandchildren.
10,0 Excellent
Pros: Very central warm and clean and cosy
Cons: Nothing
10,0 Excellent
Pros: Very reasonable price, Central , lovely people, cosy room , delicious port left in the room , comfy big bed, we will definitely be back
7,0 Good
Pros: good location, nice room, friendly staff in the evening
Cons: evening meal - we chose ' street food' which was far too salty to eat. breakfast was ok but we had to wait some time to check out as there was no one around to check us out and take our money !
10,0 Excellent
Pros: The property held lots of character and was deceptively spacious. Kai, the barman, was extremely patient with 3 slightly tipsy people whom kept ringing to see if they had board games to entertain us! Nothing was too much trouble. Thank you kai (and sorry)! Thoroughly enjoyed our time at Gales. Would definitely stay again (bringing our own board games! )
Cons: Nothing
7,5 Good
Pros: A great old inn, nice antique furniture, good location.
Cons: A very narrow entrance driveway, we were sweating bullets trying to get inside the yard with our rental. My mattress was not great, I kept falling off :-). Breakfast only cold/ cereal/ continental, for anything warm you pay extra.

Pros: The location is good. lovely room, very clean. Staff most obliging and prompt when I requested extra toiletries, milk etc. Attractive layout, with interesting features. It was great to have filter coffee in our room. Loved the toweling robes.

Pros: Excellent location bars and restaurants close by evening entertainment lovely breakfast helpful staff car park
Cons: Rooms a bit dated but you expect that in a old hotel
3,3 Mediocre
Pros: Leaving there in the morning
Cons: I had to go to reception for the Wi-Fi password . We couldn't watch TV because the TV said it needed upgrading. The breakfast was shockingly bad and we had to sleep with the door unlocked because the locking mechanism didn't work and on the website it offered a bath which turned out to be a tiny shower cubicle. I wouldn't stay there ever again even if it was free. Alot of money for a very substandard and in need of updating stay
8,0 Excellent
Pros: All very comfortable
8,8 Excellent
Pros: Centrally Located with parking to the rear. Buffet Style Breakfast was plentiful and fabulous. Staff were Very Friendly and although the Hotel is a little dated it is spotlessly clean. The Organist who plays in the Hotel Bar on a Friday is well worth a watch with the added bonus of the some of the locals getting up for a Sing Song alongside him.
Cons: I only have one complaint... we were upgraded to a fabulous four poster bedroom (Room 33) with stunning views over the River Dee and the beautiful church for our 20th Anniversary... the room was quite cold, maybe complimentary dressing gowns would be a welcomed idea. There is a large radiator in the room but given it is a large room and has two large windows.. it was a tad chilly... we did have heavy snow the one day so that didn't help.
8,0 Excellent
Pros: Friendly, clean, good food, and a good price.
Cons: The large single glazed windows in the room meant that in the cold weather the radiators only just kept the room warm.
4,0 Okay
Pros: The hotel was very dated, staff was hard to find, I was told breakfast would be at 8.30 am, i was leaving at 6.30
8,0 Excellent
Pros: Great money value and location
Cons: The plumbing in the room needed upgrading
4,6 Okay
Pros: Good view from our room , good atmosphere and staff were very nice
Cons: The hotel was very tired looking need complete revamp , decor old fashioned and in desperate need of painting . Bathroom need ripping out and redoing .
