Pros: We stayed at Ajwa for 3 beautiful nights. We left our hearts in the hotel as it was very special and we felt very pampered by every single staff member there. The hotel is clean and has a strategic location and the atmosphere is very comfortable for any muslim couple. Special thanks for Volkan and Aykan from the conceige office who were extremely helpful and patient to all our inquires during our saty. We moved to a 5 star hotel beside Taskim as the hotel was fully booked, and felt the service and hotel facilities were unmatchable to Ajwa. You live like a king in Ajwa.

Pros: Absolutely everything. Located almost at the center of everything. Short walking to all major attractions in old town area. The hotel is stunning gorgeous! all facility are designed for luxury and comfort. The bed is superb even for a pick traveler like me. A lot of touching details in the room. All staff were very warm, helpful and genuine. This hotel has exciting my expectations almost in every way. Next time I visit Istanbul, I will only stay in this hotel.

Pros: Pera Palace is a drop of tranquility in such a vibrant city. I traveled with my parents (their first time to Istanbul, I used to live there) and we benefited from a fantastic airport transfer, a Pierre Loti suite and a deluxe golden horn room. Turndown was consistent, cleaning of a very high standard too. The balconies were excellent to relax on after a long day of walking around, and the hotel itself contains a number of beautiful sitting areas. The Cuban music on Tuesday is definitely worth a listen (I studied in Havana so can assure you it is quality). It’s better to stay at Pera Palace than in Sultanahmet because of its proximity to less frequented areas by tourists such as Cihangir, Karakoy and Tarlabasi. There are a lot of excellent restaurants, cafes and bars walking distance from the hotel. A huge thank you to Orcun for organizing fantastic chocolate covered strawberries and wine upon our arrival (he also helped us with the reservation before even whilst he was on holiday), Esma for being so caring and considerate towards my parents and attentive in the Patisserie and the bar, Hakan for his great service and big smile and all of the other staff whose names I fail to remember for making our stay spectacular. Comfortable bed and pillows. Very good food at the restaurant and decent breakfast. Mr.Ahmed, The v kind lady from house keeping. Everybody in the lobby lounge, reception and concierge and Nurten who kindly made Ihlamur tea for us when we were down with the flu .... honestly every single person went out of their way to make you feel happy and at home . Big Thank you to all of you for your very kind and warm and true Turkish Hospitality. Without doubt we will return back as we did and recommend it to friends and family.

Pros: Built as the hotel for first class passengers at the end of the line on the Orient Express, this grand hotel oozes history and elegance. I had a corner room, which was massive and tastefully appointed. The marble bathroom was impressive. The staff is professional and attentive. I’ve wanted to stay at the Pera Palace for a while and it was worth every penny!

Pros: This is a top Hotel with a superb ambience and we felt at home there. Any criticisms may be seen as shortcomings on perfection. The Hotel location was good for overall position but not so good for proximity to noisy main high speed road which cancelled the benefit of the balcony otherwise it did not intrude.. When the patio door was closed there was no disturbance within the room. Excellent breakfast buffet in a well organised breakfast room. But no kippers! Excellent to visit to Ataturks room. It is great that the hotel keeps this memorial.

Historical sites are not close need to take a cab but not very far normally costing about 20-25TL.

Cons: Couldn't use the towels .... they weren't as white and soft as they should be.... especially when you can find such great towels in Istanbul. The High Tea in the lobby needs more attention and some change ... F and B section was weak in this part and can do so much better. Fruit flies in the lobby also a nuisance.

Cons: No internal dining room in summer. Dinner was served on the terrace but on the two occasions we had planned to dine there the wind was far too strong. We never dined in the hotel. Plenty of alternatives in the area. Extraneous noises did disturb the general quiet in the room on occasions mostly in the morning - never really worked out the origin - but I suspect it was something to do with making up the room next door. We did not hear habitation noises - conversation for example. The staff were generally as attentive as you would expect but you could sit on the terrace for several minutes before you were approached. I did get the feeling that some were not as well trained as others.

Cons: The transportation were hard, if you are planning of going you have to know that you will be walking all the time. I was traveling with my mom and the location ruined the trip. Metros are always filled, the Streets are old mostly down and up hill so hard to walk there. The taxis don't accept to give shorts rides. We went to Bursa by the fury and we had to walk alot to the hotel. If Google showing 10 min walk there truth it will be 30 min. Also the beds wear smaller than normal single beds

The tram is approximately a 10 minute walk away and is easiest mode of transport available in Istanbul. Gym is really good, it’s small but has all the machines needed for a good workout. Pros: Beautiful 5 star hotel. Spacious corner unit was offered as an upgrade from the standard room we booked in their hotel. They offered the upgrade free of charge to us at arrival. The guest service rep. Abdullah was very welcoming, communicated with us clearly in English and all the staff were very attentive and went above and beyond to make us comfortable during our 5 night stay. Very happy with their hotel!

Pros: Beautiful 5 star hotel. Spacious corner unit was offered as an upgrade from the standard room we booked in their hotel. They offered the upgrade free of charge to us at arrival. The guest service rep. Abdullah was very welcoming, communicated with us clearly in English and all the staff were very attentive and went above and beyond to make us comfortable during our 5 night stay. Very happy with their hotel!

Cons: Small room with paper-thin door towards hallway and to the toilet/bathroom. Not really possible for a person to use the toilet with any privacy at all. The shower head needed a cleaning and the was no shower curtain, so water went all over the bathroom during a shower. I tried to ask for a cleaning of the shower head (or similar) but the staff didn't seem to understand or care about the problem. AC in the room was extremely bad. Very difficult to figure out how to adjust, and even after adjusting the temperature was going up and down during the night. Not possible to turn on/off indidual lamps/light sources in the room. Possible to choose between "all on/some on/off".

Pros: Very nice hotel, great location! Staff was very nice, let us choose the room we like (2 beds or one bed). The breakfast was good, everything you need for breakfast was there. The next days of our stay in Istanbul we moved to another hotel, and regret we didn’t stay at Purl. Purls’ location is very comfortable, tram station is very close.

Pros: It was good value for money whereas location is the best part. Sultanahmet tram Station is approx. 100-150m walk so this takes care of your transport issues. Major tourist attractions including but not limited to Blue Mosque, Hagia Sofia, Topkapi, Basilica Cistern are all in the vicinity. Grand Bazar is also not that far. Room was clean and well maintained but the one I got was comparatively small. Thanks

Pros: The hotel had a fantastic location and one of the most breathtaking views of Istanbul that I've ever seen. We were able to walk to the Blue Mosque and the Hagia Sofia from this hotel, although it was a lengthy (but enjoyable) walk.
The staff was very friendly and helpful and made every effort to make the stay as pleasant as possible. The reception spoke English and was able to help give us recommendations on places to go and directions to get there. I would absolutely stay here again.

Cons: The photo that sold the hotel to me of an open rooftop terrace is misrepresentation as the terrace is now not open but enclosed in a glass box. No irons is rooms which is very unusual these days and was a hassle to persuade the hotel manager to loan me one. The room aircon was noisy and inefficient at its lowest setting. The curtains didn't join and left a big gap waking me up at dawn. Reported, Confusion at check in. I had extended my stay via email, which was confirmed but on arrival the extra night was not there. On two mornings, my uneaten breakfast was cleared while I was at the counter getting tea. Then saw the waiters laughing about it.

Pros: The hotel had a fantastic location and one of the most breathtaking views of Istanbul that I've ever seen. We were able to walk to the Blue Mosque and the Hagia Sofia from this hotel, although it was a lengthy (but enjoyable) walk.
The staff was very friendly and helpful and made every effort to make the stay as pleasant as possible. The reception spoke English and was able to help give us recommendations on places to go and directions to get there. I would absolutely stay here again.

Pros: At first when I read negative comments about the location of hotel I wanted to cancel my reservation but I am thrilled that I didn't do that.The fact is that if it is your first time in Istanbul try not to find the location of hotel from Galata because it is kind of tricky in winding streets of Istanbul. The best way to get there is from Halic metro station which is in front of hotel s' Ave, there is a Pilaveci at the beginning of Ave.It only takes you 2minutes to get to your hotel.The surrounding neighborhood is commercial area so it is very safe at night however they close soon and it very quiet at night so you can sleep very well.Thank you so much Mr Galib,the manager of hotel, for your kindness and carrying my luggage and bags up to Halic metro, you made my travel unforgettable.The rooms are spacious and clean.I will definitely come back

Pros: An excellent location; a 7 minute walk from Karakoy Tramway and the Tunnel Station. The tramway goes to SultanAhmet, Serkici, and Grand Bazar. The Tunnel Station goes to Istiklal Street. So you are in the middle of the hustle and bustle of Istanbul. There are several local restaurants and grocery stores down the street. The guys at the front desk are cool, helpful, down to earth, and respectful. I stayed at the single room; It isn’t that big but TBH its not too bad for one person. It has a mini fridge, TV, bedside table, and a desk. The hotel gives off an industrial and vintage kinda vibe. It is clean, quiet, and safe. They have 24 hour front desk help. The only two problems I had were the size of the shower room. It was so tiny but clean, new, and has hot water all the time. But in their defense, I am 1.90 cm and weigh 115 kg. So if you are small or mid sized, you’re good. The second problem is that the bathroom has a sliding glass door overlooking the bed which was a bit odd and out of the ordinary to me personally. But truth be told, it looks modern and stylish. Other than that, everything, from room service/cleanliness, ambiance, safety, location, and customer service was very good.

Cons: There was no door In the bathroom, it was missing, but the reception was ready to change the room for us. Minor things - no shelf in the shower to put shower gel and shampoo, not enough hooks for towels, only one side table by a double bed, which made one person put things on the floor next to the bed. If the breakfast had a whole grain bread and a real bean coffee, it would be just perfect;) And just be prepared that if it’s rainy, all the city water comes down the slopes to the hotel location and you can’t go out! We went out and soaked and drowned till over knee height! Better wait inside:) As for the rest, the hotel is really nice and made us satisfied, and contributed to our enjoying Istanbul! Thank you!

Cons: There is a club close by, no fault of the hotels. One night was extremely noisy however, because i had requested a quiet room, once the window was shut I didn't find the noise too disturbing. Generally the area is full of steep hills but again no fault of the hotel Taxi's often found the hotel difficult to find which became less of a problem once i'd found my way around as were able to direct the taxi

Cons: We were hosting a conference for around 30 people. The conference rooms were windowless and uncomfortably warm. The staff were difficult to work with at times, and not very accommodating. The lunches and dinner that we had in the hotel were truly horrible - obviously microwaved previously-frozen food. While breakfast was great, I do NOT recommend eating lunch or dinner at this hotel.

Pros: We were contacted prior to our arrival asking if there is anything we wanted for our room and we said as this is our 25th year anniversary we wanted a good room with a comfortable bed. We got there and we were utterly amazed at what they did (see pictures). They put us in a suite that had jacuzzi and the had decorated our rooms and left drinks and a small cake and a personalised letter. Wow!! We were blown away!! You cannot beat this! The food was fantastic the service was amazing there was coffee between 15:00 to 17:00 we only had time to take this once as we were out most days. The location is central by the sea the experience for us was amazing. We went to the market which is just next to the location really ideal. Special thanks to Saida who looked after us during our stay.

Cons: Only one problem with my booking they not give me the room from the first day so they send me and my husband to another hotel , but they resolve the problem and we come back on the second day.

Pros: I booked the hotel through booking .com, the picture was excellent, but when we went there, rooms are unbearable, staff are too rude and careless, they lied in my face over and over and over, I do not recommend this hotel at all

Pros: Breakfasts were absolutely amazing. Everything you could ask for was available to eat. The beds were super comfy. The staff were super helpful and friendly. The Turkish hammam was amazing and such a treat.
Cons: The bedroom wall paper had marks so needs replacement. The colours are generally too dark. Need brighter colours . Could consider this in future if and when renovating.

Pros: We were contacted prior to our arrival asking if there is anything we wanted for our room and we said as this is our 25th year anniversary we wanted a good room with a comfortable bed. We got there and we were utterly amazed at what they did (see pictures). They put us in a suite that had jacuzzi and the had decorated our rooms and left drinks and a small cake and a personalised letter. Wow!! We were blown away!! You cannot beat this! The food was fantastic the service was amazing there was coffee between 15:00 to 17:00 we only had time to take this once as we were out most days. The location is central by the sea the experience for us was amazing. We went to the market which is just next to the location really ideal. Special thanks to Saida who looked after us during our stay.
