It was closedCons:The website said open 24 hours. I got to airport desk at 2:00 AM and it was closed. There was a sign with a phone number...I called and it said the number was not in service. I found another international phone number online...that also was not in service. There was no one at the airport information desk. I was only in Iceland for the day and that is why I needed to pick up the car as soon as I landed. So the car was useless to me and I never picked it up. I need a refundReviewed Oct 24 2018

The Toyota Yaris that could!Pros:The check in and check out process was fairly quick and simple. We got a small Toyota Yaris that took us all over Iceland, including the Westfjords and up mountains!Cons:Our Garmin GPS device was very out of date and in a few cases didn't even register the roads we needed on its map. Pros:Very easy straightforward process to pick up the car at the airport. The extra insurances were presented well and no pressuring to take them. We did opt for the windshield protection. Also the shuttle to the airport after drop off was fast.Cons:The drop off was a bit confusing. It was presented on the paperwork we received but might have been better to have a verbal explanation presented when we picked up the car too. They were quite busy when we were dropping off so there was no one in the office and no sign indicating the process so several people were just standing around waiting.Reviewed Aug 18 2018

Pros:Overall we had a great experience with the car it was exactly what we wanted! The car was very clean and in good working order.Cons:The check in process was very slow and the check out process was chaotic. I had to go inside to find someone to check in our car and there were so many cars returned there was no where to park.Reviewed Sep 14 2017

Cons:Drop off was closed because we had an early morning flight and there were no clear instructions on where to park or leave the keys. We drove around and couldn't figure it out so we just went to the airport to drop off our luggage first. Luckily the Hertz booth inside the airport for picking up your rental had a sign with a number so we could call and get instructions. However, if you didn't have a cell phone that worked in Iceland would have been difficult as well. Also the rental location was only a 5-10 min walk from the airport so it wasn't too bad once we got instructions. We did not plan for this because the website said that the Keflavik Hertz was open 24/7. In the end it worked out and it was pretty easy, but communication was difficult.Reviewed Sep 4 2017
