Pros:The staff at the location were very nice.Cons:The wait times for a reservation they were about an hour. Then the fact of them running out of cars for their reservations that were made a week prior. I called customer service to ask to change the drop off location to the airport across the street which it was supposed to be, he said there was nothing her can do and if I wanted to talk to someone about it, to go to the location (mind you they were closed on Sunday) and speak with them. Then he said thank you and hung up. I rented a pickup truck for 2 days. Then I had a reservation for a SUV for a week. When I took the truck back to pick up the SUV, I waited close to an hour for them to tell me that I was out of luck since they were out of cars. Asked me to keep the truck, which was not ideal since I had two car seats that I needed to fit in the back. Kevin was very apologetic about the incident. I rested a car a week prior and the same issue with them running out of cars happened then as well. Which I had a reservation. I went to another rental company and ended up paying 3 times the cost because Hertz can barley handle their reservations. This isn’t great customer service.Reviewed Sep 28 2020

DisappointedPros:The mini van was comfortable, roomy, with great gas mileage.Cons:Charged for a full tank of gas when we filled up prior to returning car at 4am. Attendant and as no where to be found. After waiting awhile, we left rental return to check in. Attendant appeared, checked mileage, and said we'd be emailed final receipt. Never received email. Paid $202 at time of reservation, indicating payment in full. Was them charged $73 after turning in car, which included $27 to fill a gas tank that was already full. (NOTE: luckily we have receipt for gas fill up and was told -- only after calling to find out why the extra charges...) that Hertz will consider crediting $27 fill up charge if receipt is emailed to them -- which I definitely plan on doing. We are very disappointed with this particular Hertz experience. I feel this was a flagrant attempt to rip us off. After all, most people don't ask for gas receipt when filling up. Luckily we did and are able to prove there was dishonestly and deception involved in the final transaction.Reviewed May 16 2017

Rachel BadgerPros:The car I was given to rent was clean.Cons:The car (Chevy Cruz) was most uncomfortable for my parents, specifically, the leg room in the passenger seat (where my mom sat) and back seat (where my dad sat). In addition, prior to returning the car, I filled the gas tank (which was only half empty). When the email bill came, I noticed a charge of $155 for fuel and service. Please note that this was 222 mile trip which took 11 hours. Currently trying to have this issue resolved. Words of wisdom....prior to leaving the parking lot, take the time to inspect the car to make sure it will be a good fit. Secondly, if you fill the tank, confirm with the incoming attendant that that he/she noted the tanks was full. Finally, do not accept an email receipt....go directly to the office and get a hard copy and then check it to make sure the amount charged is correct.Reviewed Feb 11 2017

Stupid PeoplePros:The car was great.Cons:When I stopped to drop the car off, I stopped at the first Hertz out side the airport. I asked the person at the counter where and when the shuttle would come, because I had to catch a flight soon. They were busy. After sitting there for 45 minutes, I asked again about the airport shuttle again. Same answer out front. After 15 more minutes, I got service. When I asked the agent about the shuttle, he said I was at the wrong place that I could drop the car off at the terminal. What a bunch of stupid people. Three people at the service desk and they didn't know anything about airport drop off. I will never rent from Hertz again.Reviewed Sep 27 2017

Beware of pick up location!Cons:The pick up location is as not at buffalo airport but at a mechanics office about 20min away...the hertz office at the airport would not let us transfer the reservation to her location so we had to take a taxi. (Which yes could have been user error on not verifying the location before booking BUT THE HERZ LADY SAID IT HAPPENS ALLLLL THE TIME, so there fore it must be an issue that the location gets changed or it’s not clearly listed before booking. Either way it was such a hassle after 8 hours of flying to have to take a taxi even further to get the rental car!Reviewed Oct 30 2017
