The customer service rep at Hertz was lovely, very polite and great service your website (kayak) allowed me to book a vehicle but after walking a few blocks with my luggage to fins out that Hertz can't accommodate because they dont have enough vehicles to do a same day reservation so we then had to walk around the area trying to find a different car rental So experience was not very good, based on this experience would not recommend KayakReviewed Dec 29 2025

Much better than the Kia small SUV we rented the other portion of our trip. That car was terrible. The sprayers on the left wipers came in handy, but the gear shift was a bit tricky to use. Safety measures were very obvious, sometimes annoying, but overall helpful. The only real.negative was around navigation - the built in nav is the worst and most useless I've ever seen in a car. We mostly used Android Auto and it worked great via Bluetooth 90% of the time. But one of the days it just stopped working and wouldn't connnect, no.matter what we tried. Eventually, after a stop, it randomly started working again. Overall it handled well, got good gas mileage and provided plenty of room.Reviewed Dec 28 2025

The hertz location you emailed me to pick up my vehicle in Lihue Kauai DID NOT EXIST and I was left stranded with NO CAR for my one day trip. Infuriating. Apparently the address you sent me to, had other customers who were there to pick up cars to where no rental car company even existed!!!Reviewed Dec 28 2025

The car that I was given was dirty and Ws nit to my standard. Not only was it dirty but also was using more gasoline than anticipated. It drove like n old vehicle I tried to change at the airport location since the downtown had close early. Thrvtrest ent I experir ce was horrible from an agent and Lala. She was unprofessional told me I had to wait.30 minutes. An hour sent by and she refuse to give me service. She kept bfudhing me off told me I was not platinum and get seek g everyone but ne. There are 2 other agrnts they told me I had to see her but she refuse to give md service. After back and forth another agent sas me and gave the exchange. It took over 2 hours to exchange a csr with no long line. This ssx a terrible experienceand I don't hnink I will ever rent from Hertz agsin . Just because I was not platinum I cold not get service? I had hold ststid which ghry claim hsd expired. So now we don't see individuals as customers? All shod be treated with dignity and respect. The Maplewood Cleveland airport was beyond horrible.
