Pickup/drop-off is VERY unorganizedPros:The car was clean. Kayak was able to find me the best price on my rental.Cons:The pickup and drop-off location was the horrible. We were dropped off in the middle of a row of rental cars with no instructions from the shared shuttle service with a long term parking company. Myself and two other renters just looked around not knowing forsure where to go or what to do. Way down the line of cars we could see someone who looked like they may be a company rep (the worker did not have a company uniform or anything that made him look official). Across the lot was a building that also didn't show any indication that it was part of the rental place or part of the long term parking company (thank God it wasn't raining because we would've been soaked with no shelter). We walked over to see if this gentleman was actually the person we needed to speak with. We were told to just stand and wait. We all looked at each other wondering what to do. We'll I think you can tell where my experience is going with this. Needless to say it was VERY unorganized and the worst experience with a rental pickup. The drop off wasn't any better. I entered the lot and had to search for someone to check my car in. There is really no signage to direct you and company workers are nowhere in sight. No one had uniforms on so I wasn't actually sure at first if the people I was talking to were actually workers or lost like I was. While waiting for the shuttle ride back to the airport (once again thank God for good weather because there was no protection from the elements if they were bad) I saw and actually directed two other people that were walking around as confused as I was when I tried to pickup my car two days prior. Just to Sim up my review. I travel for a living and I was lost in there pickup/ drop-off experience. I feel for the person/family that had to experience this for their first time. Even though Kayak got me the best rate for the car I will not be using EZ rental car again. If you read this please be prepared because it wasn't a easy process. The car is what you would expect but everything else needs fixing so be ready for it. I hope this helps someone.Reviewed Apr 13 2016

They didn't honor my reservation.Pros:There was absolutely nothing pleasing about my interaction with E-Z Rent-A-Car.Cons:My flight was delayed by an hour. My wife called them and said my flight had been delayed, asking if we could extend my pickup time. They said if it was within two hours it should be fine, but assured her they would make a note of my delay. I arrived at the count 1 hour after my pickup time (within their 2 hour window of "everything is fine"). After standing in line for 10 minutes, they announced that anybody who hadn't prepaid would not be getting a car. This was at 12:30 am. I asked them to look up my name because my wife had called ahead. He looked it up and said they still couldn't give me a car. The employee didn't offer me options other than "Check with the other car rental counters to see if they have anything." It was enfuriating. I ended up renting an Über.Reviewed Jan 16 2017

Not worth the savings!Cons:The car reeked of smoke, the employee that assisted me at the counter was very difficult to understand, not friendly, the one that assisted me in getting the car was even harder to understand and less friendly, when I returned it the employee that assisted me was not friendly in the least and was not going to be able to check me back in without my pink slip - would be nice if the unfriendly attendant at the pick up had mentioned that I would need that. I had to wait much longer to return it than I'm accustomed to with other brands. No more EZ Rent A Car rentals for me!Reviewed Apr 10 2016

Pros:The car was great for what I paid but I would've liked to know that it didn't have cruise control. Other than that I have no complaints about the car. It ran good, smelled good, and it was great on gasCons:The pick up/drop of location was a bit sketchy. It looks like an abandoned parking lot and other than one small sign I had no idea if I was at the right place. It was raining and the don't have an entrance other than through the back so I got pretty wet just trying to get in. The guy who helped me with the pick up was nice but the place just gave off a "scam" type of vibe. The drop off was even more sketchy with the guys who were there because they didn't check the car at all. They just told me it was ok and that they would email the receipt. Feeling like I was going to get scammed I video taped every inch of the car and the guy saying he was going to email me a receipt. I got the receipt through email about a day later and everything was fine but I'm glad I took precautions.Reviewed Apr 17 2016

UnreliableCons:Terrible location at Dallas Love Field (DAL airport). Hard to find entrance, filthy facility, very limited inventory of cars. Car was very dirty on the inside. I didn't realize until I was well on my way that the car only had 4/5 tank of gas, yet the paperwork said "full". Then, once on the highway I started to hear a really loud noise coming from the back right side. I assumed the tire was not balanced. Even if the car was roadworthy, the sound was so loud and annoying that I could not deal with it for the 7 hours of highway driving I had ahead of me. Fortunately, the DFW airport location was able to swap out cars for me. Still, the situation was unacceptable in the first place.Reviewed Apr 19 2016

Never again will I go to E-Z Rent a Car or book thCons:MY FIRST BOOKING THROUGH KAYAK. There is no Shuttle Bus with the name E-Z Rental to take you from the airport. After waiting a half hour, I called and was told to take the long term parking bus as that is where the location is. No instructions or mention of that with the booking. When I got to the counter 2 people ahead were having issues with their rentals and ending up going back to the airport wthout vehicles. The person at the counter then said there were only mini vans available and then said there were no cars available. She threatened on whomever she was talking to on the walkie talkie that she was ready to walk off the job. No one was cleaning the cars and she was just so frustrated. Never renting there againPros:NothingCons:Reserved a mid-sized car with a GPS and got a compact with no GPS (a Chevy Cruze - supposed to be a Toyota Camry or comparable). I was told they didn't have mid-sized cars with GPS's (what I had reserved) but if I was willing to pay another $100 to upgrade to a full-sized car I could get a GPS. I was told I could also BUY a GPS for $100. When I objected strongly about this, stating that I had specifically ordered a mid-size with a GPS, I was asked how I reserved the car. I told her I did it online and she said that would mean it was through a 3rd party and they were not obligated to honor it. I consider this a breach of contract. They used my input information and accepted my money. They were legally obligated to provide the vehicle I reserved or should have upgraded for free if they could not. I didn't even know I was being given a compact car until I was standing in front of it in the parking lot and all the paperwork had been signed. They also charged me for insurance when I declined it in person at the desk. No receipt of any kind that I had returned the car. I was in Dallas/Fort Worth. Have you ever tried to drive this are without a GPS? The RESIDENTS need one. I was in DFW because my sister had been seriously injured in an auto wreck and arrangements for travel, including this car, were made online at the last minute.Reviewed Mar 26 2018

Great car/sparse rental facilityPros:I was given a new, clean very reliable Hyndai Optima. This was a larger car than I expected and had perks such as XM Radio included. The men working at the rental agency were very nice and helpful.Cons:We waited at the shuttle area outside of Love Field looking for the E-Z Rent a Car Shuttle to no avail. I finally called the office and was told that we needed to take the Love Connection Shuttle. Once we found that shuttle, service was fine. Just wish we would have known which shuttle to look for ahead of time! Also, the facility where the rental agency is located is sparse and somewhat makeshift looking. I was a bit skeptical upon our arrival. However, the service was good and we were given a great car at a below average rate which I appreciated. I would use this company again.Reviewed Apr 17 2016

Kayak Car Rental Website Search MisleadingPros:I never got a chance to rent from EZ rent-a-car.Cons:I didn't like the fact that I put in a search for cars at DFW and the KAYAK website, unbeknownst to me, included rentals at Dallas Love Field. So when I showed up at DFW to pick up my car They did not have a car for me and pointed out to me that my car rental was for Dallas Love Field, not what I searched for. I had to cancel my reservation and rebook another. Thankfully Alamo had one at a reasonable rate. If you use KAYAK be sure you're reserving a car for your intended airport of arrival as they will put other nearby airports in your search without asking you.Reviewed Dec 2 2016

Bait and SwitchPros:I rented the car for 2 days even though I was just planning to drive one day. The trip planned was Dallas-Austin-Dallas. When I finally found the EZ Car Rental office it was almost impossible to figure out how to get from the parking area to the actual office. After I gave them my driver's license and credit card I told my wife to leave and go home. When I got back to the rental counter he said, "You know this is a local rental and you have 150 miles per day and over that is $.37 per mile." That would have doubled the cost of the rental so I called my wife to return and pick me up. I had to cancel my trip to my Sister's house where she is in a wheel chair disabled by M.S. I have rented a car many times for this monthly trip and have never had this problem with any other car rental company. I suspect there was something on the reservation which should have alerted me to this exceptional situation but it was certainly not prominent.Cons:Hard to find. Dirty facility. You get what you pay forPros:Lowest price.Cons:No sign at airport, after walking around and asking airport staff I finally called the number on the email reservation multiple times until someone answered and they said I needed to go to a desk branded for a different company. The cars are stored at a parking lot where locals park their cars for vacations with poor signage about the rental car business being in the same lot. You take the shuttle branded for that business with no indication they also are a car rental business. Waited 20 minutes for the one guy to check in cars before he came over to help us where the group ahead of me was very upset about stains on the seats "we paid for a nice car to drive to a wedding and I don't want to sit on that". The guy shrugged his shoulders and said "sign here" giving them no options. My car was operational but had tons of hail damage to the point most insurance companies probably would have totaled it.
