Pros: Friendly and efficient national call center.Cons: The local Avis office called and left a message at 6:05 PM, five minutes after they closed, saying the car I reserved will not be available at 9 AM the next day. I called the Avis call center, as the local store was closed, and was advised the vehicle is still reserved and available for pickup as scheduled. I called the next day before wasting an hour of my day and was told the car was not available. Avis made no effort to locate a like vehicle at a secondary location and fulfill their rental obligation.

Pros: when i arrived in Ocala to pick up my car i was asked to show two pictured forms of id, i did not fly there so i did not carry my passport and i do not even need one unless i travel out of country. Katie was just doing her job and would not rent to me because your computer requested the 2nd id. i usually use Enterprise to travel, however your rates appeared to be better. i arrived much earlier and returned my car early and was charged over 300 dollars for two days. i called avis and you rerouted me to pick up a car in the ocala airport, the gentleman also has the same request of me to show two form of picture id. he rented to me anyway but gave me a crossover which ate more then half the gas that the ikea would have used. you should have stated that i would need that id, what a stress you caused me to an already stressful time in my life.Cons: state you might need a second picture id. your prices werent the price you state upon holding your car. i will not use avis if i can help it in the future.

Pros: VERY, VERY BAD experience. Reserved a convertible for 9AM. When we arrived convertible was not available. We were given a DIRTY Dodge Charger. The car was dusty on the outside had not been cleaned or disinfected in the inside. We had to wipe down the seats and steering wheel. This is a pandemic I expected a disinfected car. Car also smelled of cigarette smoke. Why would two grandmothers want a Dodge Charger. We ordered a mustang convertible to enjoy the Florida sun. We are very unhappy. I will tell everyone I know about my BAD experience with Avis/KAYAK.Cons: The car we ordered (Convertible) should have been at the pick up area. Attendant should have worked with us, we were willing to go to another location for a convertible. He was not helpful Attendant needs customer service training Attendant needs more Avis training. Replacement car was filthy both inside and out. Replacement car needed to be disinfected inside we are in a pandemic Replacement car needed the smell of smoke removed WE ARE NOT HAPPY WITH BOTH AVIS AND KAYAK

Pros: The price was right on. Ease of pick and drop off was good.Cons: We were given a car with a tire that had a known issue of leaking air. This created a situation on our road trip where we needed to swap out the car. The office in Ocala, Florida was disorganized, and the representative at the counter was disinterested. The gentleman in the car area was helpful and kind and filled the tires with air. However, this car should not have been rented out to anyone as there was a known tire leak.

Horrible Customer Service Experience at Avis locationPros: Ease of booking through kayak.Cons: Arrived at pickup location at 7:30 for 8am pickup. Told "we are not open, take a seat." I was asked for my name at aproximately 7:50am. Rep briefly looked over paperwork and stated I do not have a car to fill your reservation. I asked, "with all due respect, what is the point of a reservation?" the reps response "that is a great question, what is the point of a reservation, corporate does this to me all the time overbooking" I inquired what could be done to resolve the issue. The rep stated she could rent the one fill size vehicle she had on the lot at that time that was actually for a renter later on in the day. Rep stated she would not price match the vehicle to meet my reservation. Offered no resolution to the problem, did not attempt to contact another location to transfer a vehicle, did not notify me of the problem upon arrival although she was completely aware but instead continued conversation with co-workers. This reservation was made 2 days in advance, my fiance and I both took the day off of work and registered to attend a seminar out of town. The rep then proceeded to tell me I need to put myself in her shoes. She picked up paperwork from the counter and stated she had 10 additional reservations all for small cars that she could not fill for the day. The reps behavior, lack of empathy and sheer lack of customer service / willing to assist was completely unacceptable. Absolutely nothing was done to resolve the matter or to provide any reassurance this would never again be an issue.

Pros: Car had low miles was clean and reliable, pick up and drop off were seamless.Cons: We didn't encounter this issue with a flat, but it would be nice if flat tire protection was included in the rental, as that is typically normal wear and tear and should not be the responsibility of the renter (without added cost).
