A quiet area in one of the most picturesque parts of England. The historical site was extremely interesting with lovely walks
Extremely relaxing, beautiful hotel, very good service and food, can't wait to go back in February.
Nothing to dislike for us.
Lovely setting, quietm relaxed, nice restaurant and bar.
The fact that the hotel claimed not to have received our booking for 2 nights stay from www.bookingcom and that we haven't yet had a reply to the email we sent you.
Tv never worked inspite of complaint to Reception. Well advertised log fires poor. Advanced booking but bill showed a £20 increase with no explanation, receptionist agreed with my printed confirmation and amenced bill. Restaurant stated soup of day was parsnip but produced tomatoe, and famous fish and chips turned out to be a spagettii dish.
The comfort of the hotel the food, the peaceful and beautiful surroundings.
It was a pity that the bar and restaurant staff were not more smartly dressed.
This hotel was exceptional - architecture, setting, service and food were perfect. The staff were of the highest calibre and could not have been more helpful and welcoming. Management deserve special mention for managing in a way that was extremely efficient yet unobtrusive. We cannot recommend this hotel highly enough - we had booked in initially for 2 nights but we actually stayed 7 nights!
Helpful staff, cleanleness of rooms, beautiful position, great value for money
Excellent location,comfortable room,nice staff
No really bad points but improvements could be made in the length of time waiting for food at evening and breakfast
Very pleasant staff, good surroundings and views, good food in the restaurant (though a little pricey).
From a business point of view, an 8 o'clock breakfast is a bit late, an earlier breakfast option would be welcome.
