Pros: Staff were really helpful and friendly.

Pros: Every one was very helpful and pleasant I have no faults I’ve stayed here in the past many times
Cons: N a
7,1 Good
Pros: The breakfast was adequate. Our room was large and the bed comfortable but there was a very small shelf which housed the tea-making facilities and I had to go to the bar to ask for some milk. I appreciated the way in which the young manager dealt with a problem I had with a meal(see below).
Cons: Tea-making facilities(see above). I was disappointed with the evening meal I ordered. When it first appeared it didn't resemble the description on the menu i.e. chips instead of boiled potatoes, peas instead of mixed vegetables and a piece of fish(allegedly cod loin ) which was hard, overcooked and without a sauce. The meal was removed and reappeared with the required vegetables and a disappointing sauce, but it was the same piece of fish. However the manager did not charge us for this meal and was very apologetic.
8,0 Excellent
Pros: The staff are very nice. Food is good and the rooms are very clean. No complaints here
Cons: Nothing to complain about
10,0 Excellent
Pros: The evening meals in the bar below were tasty! Quite surprised considering it was just a marstons but I had no complaints at all. The staff (in particular the young gent on the bar all evening who is some level of management, tall, dark hair - don't know his name but used to work close to Bristol airport is all I remember) was so lovely! He’s an asset to the hotel as we got talking to him, the new general manager was lovely too! Both very accommodating. The room rate was perfect, very cheap for what you get and couldn’t fault the room! Only thing was it wasn’t serviced after the first night but we literally used the room to sleep and that was it so wasn’t overly bothered to be honest.
Cons: The breakfast selection (continental) was pretty poor. I get it’s because they don’t have a lot of people in for breakfast but it could do with a few more bits. For the price though I suppose it wasn’t terrible.
10,0 Excellent
Pros: The very efficient and friendly staff .
Cons: Lovely and comfortable
9,0 Excellent
Pros: The shower in our room was leaking, the manager was great and let us check in to an alternative room. Really well looked after.
7,1 Good
Pros: Staff were pleasant and obviously battling hard.
Cons: Only 1 draught beer on tap. It wasn't even a Marston beer. No delivery for next 2 days. 1 bottled beer available, low alcohol! Food starter arrived. Lamb kofftas, no mint and yoghurt dressing and no flat bread. Wasn't told when placing order. Uht cartoon in room gave tea a poor taste. Out of date? Curved showed door fell off rail narrowly missing toes.

Pros: Cool hotel in the middle of the country
10,0 Excellent
Pros: Love the location, friendly staff and charm of the Combe House Hotel. Walking straight out of the door on to the Quantock hills is a bonus. The food is not cheap, but worth the money in my opinion.
Cons: There is nothing I didn't like.
9,0 Excellent
Pros: Lovely location. The hotel was very picturesque. Our puppy loved the place and the owner and staff made him very welcome. The bedroom was very comfortable. The dinner and breakfast was excellent.
Cons: The bathroom was cramped and badly lit. The coffee was weak.
10,0 Excellent
Pros: Loved staying in comfort in well furnished rooms immersed in beautiful peaceful countryside
7,0 Good
Pros: Excellent, friendly and efficient staff. Good menu and food well cooked and promptly served. The dining and sitting areas were pleasant and comfortable. The bar could get rather overcrowded. An interesting and quiet location in lovely countryside. The bed in our room was large and very comfortable.
Cons: Our so called "Superior Room, number 11" was disappointing, especially compared to those shown on the website and the one room we were able to see when it was empty....number 10. The advertised "seating area" in our small room was composed of only one low arm chair, so one person had to sit on the bed to watch TV. The chair was also too low to use at the "desk" so it was necessary for us to sit on the bed to use our laptop. The ensuite shower room was small and the water pressure low in the shower. Also two of the five lights in the room did not work. We mentioned all this to management at the time and they did acknowledge our comments and give us a small discount which gesture was appreciated.
9,0 Excellent
Pros: Excellent location with great walks from the door. Relaxed atmosphere. Dog made very welcome.
Cons: Sunday evening limited to the Sunday lunch menu but still a good choice including veg and fish options.
10,0 Excellent
Pros: Everything. Tucked away in a little village, not far from a main road but you would never know. Lovely setting and space to relax, restaurant, bar and lounge area. Food was excellent and reasonably priced, that included delicious cream teas (homemade warm fruit scones with lashings of local made proper jam and clotted cream), evening meals, Sunday roasts and breakfast. The included continental breakfast was perfect, my perfect start to the day with granola, fruits and yummy yoghurt. Also cereals, bread and toppings etc. If you want a cooked breakfast that is extra but £5 for poached eggs on muffin didn’t seem too bad if you had to have you’re morning eggs. Staff were fab, friendly and attentive. Room was great, tucked away at the back, quiet and ample big enough for us. Will be back for sure, lots of walking to be done in the area and a lovely place to stay to enjoy the outdoors.
Cons: Only thing was breakfast didn’t start until 0800. We like to be out and walking by then, so would have preferred a 0700-0730 start (Continental) if possible
9,0 Excellent
Pros: Very quiet location . Spotless. We had room 21 which is at the rear but it is a lovely room.. the bathroom is a very good size for a double room. Bed was very comfortable. Staff were very attentive. Evening meal was great.

Pros: Great old house with lots of charme! We really enjoyed stying in this characterful building. It does have some little oddities due to its age, but that just adds to it all.
9,0 Excellent
Pros: Room was warm and comfortable and the owners were very personable
Cons: Nothing
6,0 Good
Pros: Room was quiet. Breakfast hot food was very good - service very pleasant. Dinner food was good. Should be a good B&B once the redecoration has been completed and the place is busier. Shower was very good in bathroom.
Cons: Bed uncomfortable and room either very cold or too hot using electric panel heaters. Room 11 is adjacent to the kitchen and banging door most of the evening as staff went to store rooms.
9,2 Excellent
Pros: Very central to the town. Lovely history building. Good restaurant for evening meal and breakfast.
9,0 Excellent
Pros: Very friendly and helpful staff
Cons: Entrance to car park is quite tight
8,0 Excellent
Pros: Excellent breakfast and attentive staff
8,0 Excellent
Pros: The idea of staying in a former Vicarage was what drew me to this place. Gary, whose a man wearing multiple hats (reception, front desk, baggage handler and morning breakfast host/organizer/cleaner is a real gem. He's friendly and very attentive. The location is directly across from a beautiful church and near shops and restaurants. We walked around the area and loved the history we saw. Unfortunately, we were travelling between locations so this was only a night stay. The room had character with a very old beam running through the ceiling (dark and aged). The bed was comfortable enough. The room was showing it's age but I think they're doing some updating. The building is very old so you'll see and experience that so be prepared for aged facilities.. There's a small garden out back with seating. The breakfast offered a nice variety of options and was included in the price which for us is a bonus.
Cons: The carpet in our room definitely needed a clean,. The location of the parking was a little difficult to figure out after we went around the blocks a few time (we missed the signage). It's quite a narrow entry into a small courtyard. Longer and bigger cars may find it tricky getting in especially if there are cars parked across on the road. After much back and forth, driving in reverse and with the aid of Gary and my husband I managed to get the vehicle parked. We were on the first floor and we did experience a fair amount of noise coming through the ceiling from up above quite late into the evening. We did get to sleep but be aware you'll hear people above.

Pros: Cant beat it. Good value. Just like being at home

Pros: Warm welcome on arrival. Room was adequate and clean. Nice and warm. Evening meals were lovely. Breakfast reasonably priced and very good.
Cons: First impression when you pull into the car park, the property could do with a tidy up. However inside, the property was very clean and welcoming.
5,0 Okay
Cons: I couldn't find anyone in bar when I arrived. No marked disabled bays near entrance. Had to go through 2 very difficult to open doors to get to my room. Heating was not on when I arrived. Both doors needed a different key. No lighting outside the first fire door so difficult to see which key to use . They were not marked. Went to the bar had a drink and asked for some moistriser. Forgot to ask for hairdryer The next morning asked for one and was given strict instructions to give it back. On leaving left my keys at the bar tried to contact the proprietor to ask if I could have help with my luggage. Couldn't rouse him Took my own luggage to the car left hairdryer in room and departed Not good for a single person in poor health. Not bad for dog but noisy.

10,0 Excellent
Pros: It’s an amazingly well looked after property well with a visit
7,9 Good
Pros: Perfect Breakfast Location ideal to split our journey south
Cons: The toilet would not flush and we had to get jugs of water to flush it.
10,0 Excellent
Pros: This is an amazing 15th century building, with original features including a chapel. It is furnished in keeping with its appearance, without being a caricature of itself. We had a room with lovely views of the garden and the distant Quantock hills; also a four poster bed. Breakfast was at a long table in the Great Hall, with the other guests, and was very good. There is also a cosy lounge.
Cons: I'm only 5' tall, and getting onto the 4 poster bed was a challenge- a footstool would have been useful. It was a very windy night, and we realised how draughty these old buildings are, but we were very cosy in bed. There is of course no lift. The property has more modern accommodation at the back.
7,5 Good
Pros: Breakfast cooked fresh and hot which was a pleasant surprise
Cons: The setting and and carter of the buildings very enjoyable stay

Pros: Good size room. The staff were very helpful. It was warm and comfortable.

5,8 Okay
Pros: Bed for a night. Job done
Cons: First time in a Days inn and disappointed compared with a Travelodge. Was expecting much more. Place was tired and old-fashioned
8,0 Excellent
Pros: Real bath in the bathroom, easy to find and convenient... just off the M5.
3,3 Mediocre
Pros: Nothing
Cons: It was a dated and grubby room The shower was scolding me one minute then cold the next. It was the worst room I have stayed in for as long as I can remember I would’ve expected the place to feel and smell extra clean during this time of Covid 19
3,7 Mediocre
Pros: The convenience and friendly welcome
Cons: The fact we had no hot water during our stay on the coldest night of the year so far! We received a full refund but that doesn't really make up for the lack of the most basic facilities. The question is would you ever book into a hotel that didn't have hot water? The staff were polite and helpful and clearly trained well but as a family of four with two under 10 yrs on a cold November night the lack of hot water was a disgrace.
8,0 Excellent
Pros: Very quiet at night - comfy warm room.

Cons:
7,0 Good
Pros: Ease of use and friendliness of staff
Cons: Needs to update TV facilities
6,0 Good
Pros: No major problems with room
Cons: We chose the hotel as we were visiting relatives in Wellington. We were totally unaware that from Wellington we had to drive 15 miles past the hotel to the next junction to come back on the correct lane. 2 wasted trips of 30 miles each

7,0 Good
Cons: Service in restaurant was slow. Staff were often totally absent from room for a number of minutes. Dinner menu was not changed for the three nights of stay and was very limited in choice. The menu was trying to be Michelin star dining but failed.
10,0 Excellent
Pros: Lovely hotel with lots of charm and beautifully decorated. Spacious and tasteful. Lovely touches ie sweets and fruit in the room. Lovely view from the bedroom window, especially the grazing sheep. Superb breakfast, lots of choice.
8,8 Excellent
Pros: Beautiful building and rooms very serene. Parts of the spa were lovely. Steam room jacuzzi and shower. Lounge and rooms lovely. Some of the food was fab. The starters and puddings really lovely. The staff were charming and over all loved my stay. At breakfast cold buffet and juice was really good. The whole stay left me very refreshed and happy.
Cons: Sauna was pretty cold and and it all starts a bit late in the morning so you can’t use the spa and have breakfast after which was a shame. The foot spa was broken. Could really benefit from having a swimming pool. The toothpaste mugs had traces of toothpaste in them. At dinner mains were a bit iffy my lamb was barely cooked raw in the middle and therefore bit hard to cut and chew. Cooked breakfast definitely not the best I’ve had and coffee very weak. All little things otherwise really lovely.
9,0 Excellent
Pros: The breakfast was so lovely with a great range on the continental side (the apple and cinnamon muffins were amazing!) - would have been nice to have baked beans and hash browns on the full english however. The room was lovely and clean plus a comfortable bed. The hot tub was perfect- didnt want to leave it!
Cons: The only con was it was so hot in the room even after turning down the radiator.. we had to have the door to the hot tub open all night.
8,0 Excellent
Pros: The hotel overall is a very relaxed place to stay, lacking in Rules which is great, we even take our small dog who stays with us in the room. Breakfast is very good too.
Cons: There's nothing we didnt like, its easy, if I had to be critical, some area's do need a touch of maintenance but nothing really that effects your stay & the staff are all very lovely & accommodating.
10,0 Excellent
Pros: Staff was kind and polite It wasn't busy so receptionist upgraded me to a bigger room It is very peaceful and has good energy Breakfast was really good

9,2 Excellent
Pros: Comfortable , room was spacious and the staff were great. Being a pharmacist, I was working in Chard supporting Boots during this crisis. We had to have a last minute change of hotels and the Farthings were on accepting Healthcare workers as guests. To our surprise, we were accepted. We were made to feel welcome and nothing was too much trouble for the hotel owner. The property is full of antique looking furniture and felt warm and cosy. It is the best hotel we have stayed at in the last 12 months, whilst working in the area. I will definitely be booking my stay with the hotel when I’m in the area again.
Cons: Quoted price for 2 course meal at £26 per head, although there was a smaller local delivery menu.
10,0 Excellent
Pros: All members of staff should be officially called heroes for keeping it open during these hard times. It was the only location opened in the Taunton area, or at least the only one I could find. The restaurant was also opened, for takeaways only. Also reminded me about the house of my grandparents. Many, many, many thanks, Peter (aka Petrisor) SECOTA -Locum Pharmacist-

Pros: The room was spacious and comfortable. The cooked breakfast was outstanding. Staff were polite and helpful. Peacocks in the garden were a delight.

Pros: Have stayed here on a number of occasions and it has always been excellent- this time I was upgraded to an even more fabulous room which was very nice!
Cons: Nothing to dislike- its a gem!

7,9 Good
Pros: Perfect Breakfast Location ideal to split our journey south

Cons: The setting and and carter of the buildings very enjoyable stay
