Pros: Service was excellent! The best I have ever experienced. Real 5 star service from the doorman, front desk, restaurant staff, bar tender, housekeeping, etc., all the employees were extremely courteous, helpful, attentive, and professional.
Hotel is very nicely and tastefully decorated, lots of artwork and fancy walls, ceilings, etc, and our room was very comfortable. They gave us a free upgrade upon check-in (from a deluxe room to a grand deluxe).
Location is perfect - it is right in the middle of town, close to all the attractions, restuarants, and shopping. Yet the inside of the hotel is very quiet and relaxing.
Breakfast buffet (included in our room rate) was AMAZING!! Excellent food, lots of choices, and of course excellent service from the staff.
I think it would be OK for kids, but it is probably better suited for adults.
My wife and I had a wonderful time and I highly recommend this hotel!

Cons: We got there late at night and could not get to the street. The stuff is nice and polite. the hotel was too kitchy for us, the price was very high for the value. The room they gave us was very far and noisy from the motors of the a\c. With this cost you would expect more!

Pros: Hotel with facilities is very good, breakfast was perfect, there was everything what human needs for breakfast :) , I stayed only one night, for its location for me it was perfect because early morning i had tickets for train and train station is in front of the hotel, just 2min walk, I didn’t stayed for city walk because I cannot say how is location for that, but to stay very comfortable hotel just for a rest between your journeys it is very good ( taxi took 20€ from airport too)

Cons: The noise at night was dreadful. There appeared to be a nightclub behind the hotel (not on the premises) and it was operational every night of our stay. To be fair it stopped at about 1am each morning but it was still a bit over the top. Bathroom products were very poor quality with an option of buying more expensive ones - thought that was a bit off and a bit smart.

Cons: It was a great stay, nothing important to mention as negative. The only thing is that shampoo and shower gel bottles were almost empty in the bathroom but i am sure that if we had mentioned it to the personnel they would have solved it immediately.

Cons: Just a shame about the heat in the room. The room had the sun shining on the window and made it very uncomfortable. We turned on the aircon and left for the room to cool down without any luck. Even in the middle of the night in November the room was unbearable and sleeping with the windows open gave little respite.

Cons: Staff not very friendly. Room was very dark/ dimmly lit/poor lighting. Beds very uncomfortable.

Pros: Very nice hotel, has everything you need for a city break short stay or weekend getaway.
Only 2minutes from the train station and about 15-20mins walk from the heart of the historic centre. The walk itself is fine however as the route takes you past plenty of shops and places to eat.
The breakfast was sufficient and varied- plenty to set you up for the day. The room was big and spacious.
I would return.
Cons: The shower head and screen were poorly fitted and cramped making for a difficult experience!

Cons: Air fan in room in desperate need of a dusting/cleaning. Room walls in need of painting. Otherwise, a great place to stay in Bologna. And to be honest, none of the above mattered to me but might to others.

Pros: The Mercure Hotel in Bologna is a high standard 4 star hotel. The furniture is of a high quality. The food was delicious. This hotel is located in the centre of Bologna and close to wonderful shops.

Pros: I wish I could give this place a better review. The room was very comfortable and they had great freebies, more than just the usual shampoo. And the breakfast is excellent (although we were there early, around 7:30), even though some others have complained about it when arriving late. However, it was over 30 in Bologna and muggy when we were there (even at night!) and the thermometer in our room was showing 29 when we arrived. There was no point trying to turn it up as the A/C is controlled by the front desk. Yikes! Never heard of such a thing before, but it's true. The temperature only decreased by a degree that first day. The second day was even worse--the A/C was "broken" and only repaired late in the day. Of course none of this matters if you happen to be visiting outside the summer months...oh yes, almost forgot. The electricity went out in our room altogether on the third day, but was taken care of promptly when we notified the front desk.

Cons: The hotel is on a main street, my room was on the first floor facing the street hence there was very loud traffic noise. The room was extremely hot. I was told by the staff that the ventilation system cannot be used until mid-April and my window was broken. When I asked to be moved to another room, I was told they were too busy. Not a nice stay at all.
