Pros: A cosy and comfortable place to stay with everything you could want provided by most friendly and informative hosts. Comfortable and quiet rooms with great views of the Mayo coastline - most impressive. We had breakfast and dinner both were delicious local produce cooked to perfection. Welcoming tea and scones and lots of information about routes to take to see the most interesting sights. We will definitive back and would recommend to anyone as long as you don’t want wild social nightlife.

Pros: You must definitely choose this B&B if you are travelling in Ireland. It has an excellent position, with a great view on the Ocean and all the services are really perfect, you will be treated better than home from the moment you will check in to your check out. The hosts are really kind and will make you feel better than home. Really. The living room and the breakfast room have a beautiful, relaxing view on the Ocean. We have been assigned the green room, which is really like a dream. When checking out you will be given some precious suggestions about the places to visit. More than what you could find in any tourist guide. We have followed them and all the sites suggested were worth a visit.
Cons: Nothing. Everything was perfect. Nothing to add, really.

7,5 Good
Pros: Good size room , nice Jacuzzi
Cons: Keys didnt work initially, bin in bathroom broke, forgot some of the breakfast order.
9,6 Excellent
Pros: Every staff member we dealt with was very friendly and helpful. We made a reservation at the Merlot restaurant in the hotel and had an incredible 3 course meal. Room was great and we were delighted to have the little extra touches like Netflix on the tv and the jacuzzi bath. Great base if you are climbing Croagh Patrick- reception booked us a taxi (€5pp) that collected us at the hotel and dropped us at the foot of the mountain. Highly recommend!
Cons: Very minor but the mini bar had sensors in it that generated an automatic charge of any of the items were moved so we didn’t use it at all. Would have like to be able to keep our own fresh milk/ snacks in it. Again, very small issue that didn’t affect our overall stay.

6,3 Good
Pros: Breakfast was fantastic. I opted for the in-room dining option as the view from my room over the river was very relaxing and nice to look at while having my tea, porridge, fresh fruit, poached eggs, toast, etc. Great selection and all very good quality ingredients.
Cons: Although the Ice House was a pleasant enough stay, having stayed at other 4 star spas in Ireland and elsewhere around the world, overall I found that it was not worth the hype or the costs. The foyer and room is impressive upon first entry, but the reception staff were all consistently very cold and abrupt and gave you the 'icy' feeling that you were interrupting their day and an inconvenience by merely showing up. The kitchen and bar staff were much friendlier and welcoming but clearly overworked as it took them a good 10 minutes to acknowledge and seat me after my reserved time slot. But I dined there on two evenings and the food was fantastic and staff very friendly and conscientious and paid much attention to detail. The spa facilities such as the thermal cycle are nice and well kept but very minimal. The outdoor area and hot tubs are lovely with a calming view of the river Moy, but unfortunately it is not private and you occasionally open your eyes to see a pedestrian or group of people on the pavement above looking down and gawking at you in your swimwear. This layout of the facilities is puzzling and does not lend itself to serenity or privacy. Another case in point: the restaurant patio overspills below the rooms and I was startled one evening while getting dressed to hear screaming toddlers below my window running from the restaurant. The hotel is child friendly which, although beneficial for families who are travelling and for some reason want to take their kids to a spa hotel, it is distracting and disturbing for guests who simply want quiet and to relax without the sounds of screaming kids. It's like the Icehouse is trying to be too many things to too many people all at once and needs to refocus on who is its main clientele.
10,0 Excellent

Pros: The view of the river from our room was spectacular. The staff were always pleasant and helpful and both the cooked and continental breakfasts were excellent. This hotel is an expensive treat that really delivers on the treat.
Cons: Parking can be difficult but the staff (thank you Sabrina) sorted us out.
9,6 Excellent
Pros: Beautiful clean rooms, the most comfortable bed I have ever slept in EVER! Views just fabulous. Customer service fantastic. Facilities lovely. Architecture and building something to behold.
Cons: Restaurant quite expensive for quality of food served. Parts of hotel needing some attention, some walls need repainting and some areas of walls appear tatty.

Pros: We liked the interior design & the attention to detail.
Cons: There was a very limited choice of one! jam at breakfast let things down.

Pros: Loved the location and the décor Old mansions and historical buildings interest me
Cons: There was nothing I did not like about my stay Only concern I had was a Health and Safety issue regarding the floor Boards in the room no 30 we stayed in as there was a large gap between floor boards outside door and bigger gap on inside door and my heal of my shoe went down hole and I almost fell but thankfully my partner caught my hand and held me . I did mention this concern to reception staff as we were checking out . would not like anyone to have accident in such a beautiful place . I would most definitely would like to visit again in the near future.

Pros: We loved the ambience in the bar, especially the wonderful Irish music on Tuesday evening. The informal welcoming atmosphere created a modern blend of perfect hospitality in classical surrounding. Great tea! The ‘White Co’ products great, but how about large pots which will be chargeable if taken away( like Cowshed Products at the Soho Houses hotels?)
Cons: My mother complained of a noisy ‘boiler?’ in Room 9 in the night,Room 5 was perfectly quiet so we swapped rooms.

Pros: Lovely welcome at reception upon arrival. Large, bright rooms. Room contained a safe, a fridge and a welcoming tray with tea / coffee and little packs of biscuits. Lovely food.Nice, bright foyer. The hotel has some interconnecting rooms. The hotel is across the road from a great Londis supermarket, a pizza place, Mc Donalds. Shaws department store is next door. There is a beautiful commemorative Peace Park across the road from the hotel. 4,2 Okay
Pros: Nothing really it was a roadside hotel
Cons: Needs total refurbishment Plastic curtains in shower Carpet stained Loud music meant my aunt couldn’t sleep on Saturday night she was near lifts I was at far end of corridor so this didn’t effect me
8,0 Excellent
Pros: Style and design of room was nice. Loved that there was a full length mirror.
Cons: Only thing I didn't like was that the bed wasn't that comfy
9,6 Excellent
Pros: Great location. Comfortable spacious rooms and very good food. Would definitely recommend it
9,6 Excellent
Pros: The restaurant was great, I had a burger and chips, a good yardstick to measure any eatery. It passed with flying colours, Partner had a chicken dish and loved it. Breakfast was a buffet style affair and was plentiful and tasty, catered for all.
Cons: Slightly too far out for me from the town to walk, but hardly a major downfall. Ten euro in a cab takes you into town!
5,4 Okay
Pros: Great breakfast and general areas in hotel were clean. The staff at breakfast and restaurant were lovely and friendly too.
Cons: Our room carpet was all stains and the lockers and dressing table had all spills down it too. The bed was clean but ideally would have liked new and extra pillows. The ones we had were as flat as pancakes! The general pool area itself seems a bit tired and looks and feels grubby. Customer relations at reception is an area that could be improved in my opinion.
8,3 Excellent
Pros: Enjoyable breakfast, large well equipped rooms. A short distance to local town. Plenty of parking.
Cons: Pillows hard, carpets needed a clean.
2,5 Mediocre
Cons: On arrrival the receptionist kept us waiting for 15 minutes with a small child He did not call for another memeber of staff We asked the temperature in the swimming and were told 29 in fact it was more like 20 degrees. The room was over looking the leisure pool enterance and was very noisey in the early moring from 6am. We were also woken by banging door at 4.30am The room loked out on a blank wall.
9,2 Excellent
Pros: There was a good choice of breakfast but we would have liked tomato's out of the Tin with our breakfast and more cerals.
Cons: There wasn't much fruit as I like a lot of fruit in with my yoghurts and they didn't fill up the pastry tray when some cusomers took more.
5,8 Okay
Pros: The rooms were fairly spacious and the staff were lovely to deal with.
Cons: The carpets in both rooms had quite a few stains and were very shabby looking. Also the shower in the second room you couldn't change the height as it is broken and very rusty! I requested a double room and was told that it would be accommodated for and was also repeated at reception on check in but we got a twin room. Left that go, then the battery in the door of the room went so we couldn't get back into our room on the first night and was asked to stay in reception until they could let us in. That was fine until the manager came to get us and when we got to the room they had jarred the door with the do not disturb signs and my handbag and all my cards sitting on the bed for anyone to steal as there was people walking up and down the corridors!! The breakfast was okay but the breakfast room was full of wasps. One landed on both our breakfasts the first morning and we killed 3 the second morning.

9,6 Excellent
Pros: breakfast was great plenty variety and choice
Cons: it would have been good to have bar food at lunch time
3,8 Mediocre
Pros: The food, atmosphere, and drink in the bar was excellent. The staff were incredibly friendly. , although a bit of sticklers on adhering to the exact check in time.
Cons: The people at the front desk were a bit of sticklers on adhering to the exact check in time. There was a smell of paint in the lobby, mold in the halls, and the beds, pillows and linens are in a serious need of replacement. There was also pink/brown mold in the grout of the shower. That was quite gross.
8,8 Excellent
Pros: Didn't have breakfast; had dinner every night and it was mostly very good.
Cons: The spa area needs a facelift.
8,8 Excellent
Pros: Able to provide a twin room with bath for 2 tired, soaked through cyclists on the Wild Atlantic Way.. With perseverance, we finally managed to get help drying some sodden cycling gear (thank you David), although we found using the corridor radiators was more effective and I wish I’d left my gloves there overnight! Delicious dinner with good glass of Pinot Grigio
Cons: Not sure this hotel is used to helping tired, wet lady cyclists, but the staff did eventually rise to the challenge. Can’t believe there isn’t a warm boiler room somewhere to thoroughly dry out wet stuff.
