Pros: Staff friendly.
Cons: The car was not clean when I picked up. I saw visible fingerprints on GPS screen, crumbs in the cup holder, and stains on both front seats. About 45 min into my 4 hour drive back to NY, the “!” Icon began to flash indicating the back right tire was low on air. I don’t typically drive so had no idea how to put air in tires or how much. Called Roadside assistance and was on hold forever. Luckily a cop pulled up at the gas station and was able to help me. These things should be checked before customers drive off w the cars. During COVID pandemic I feel that cleanliness should be a priority!
Cons: First, the office was difficult to locate since it is in a shopping plaza not right on the road as it had been explained. When I returned the car after waiting for the agent to finish his phone call and acknowledge that I was there, the man at the counter was extremely rude. When I questioned the gas prepay refund I was instructed to take it up with the company. That he doesn’t represent the company and that it was expressed in the contract I had read and signed. At which point upon further questioning he provided said pamphlet. I was instructed that I should have read the fine print- and was again told to take it up with the company. Needless to say if I ever rent with Avis again I will be much more explicit in my requests since they obviously conveniently leave things out.
Pros: Staff members were AWESOME!!
Cons: I went to the dealership and asked how much it would be, including insurance. The man ran my card, checked me in and then told me how much it was. He claimed that he couldn't see the total until after my card was charged. I made him cancel the rental and I went elsewhere. Disgusting.
