Please don’t make the seats smaller!

The boarding staff was absolutely awful. Delayed our flight multiple times with no answers. People at the desk were rolling eyes at me, being condescending at me, and making faces, and started arguing with me saying “show me how I’m being condescending to you right now, do it” when I asked him to please talk politely to me. He was awful and rude.

Seats were not comfortable

So sick of those pretzels and cookies! Blech!

Too crowded. Stale almonds. Boarding very slow. Crew was friendly and helpful. Flight was smooth and uneventful.

I like it’s a short flight. The seats couldn’t be smaller and I was sitting next to a giant.

Everything went as expected. Masks were worn, passengers were cooperative, flight was on time, unboarding was uncannily orderly. People remained seated until the people in front of them stood to gather their belongings. It proceeded as a wave almost. I've never seen anything like it. It was like being in the Twilight zone. Boarding still allows about half the plane to board first (passengers with kids and needing help, priority and first class, diamond, sky something or other, military, etc.). Then they board from back to front. Half the plane is already on board so I'm not sure why they bother.

Dirty toilets and overworked crew

The flight was delayed and then canceled due to weather or traffic issues. I wasn't given a clear reason. We were not given a voucher to stay at a hotel either. They said it didn't qualify as a reason to give one. It wasn't my fault it was canceled. I will not use America Airlines again unless I have too.

Communication and updates and leaving on time.

I booked this reservation 2mo in advance with 2 lap babies. When i called to add the babies they never told me about the lap baby rule. If I would have known i would have bought my toddler her own seat no problem. They moved my seats far from each other. My babies need to sit near their mom it was a redeye. At check in the manager did us a “favor” and moved us to adjacent aisle seats… in the last row. Those seats don't recline and the constant people, flushing and talking woke the babies up all night. No one slept. The main attendant couldn’t be bothered and had a, get over it bad attitude. Oh did i mention i had a dog at my feet also?? Every time they were woken up by the bathroom (constantly) my babies would cry for their mommy and i could only hold on at a time. adjacent seats from mommy is not comforting . Why on earth would we be moved to those seats?! I know why. We were discriminated against for having babies. “Put the babies in the back.” I was a 4x a year flyer at minimum. We will NEVER fly with AA again and i will be filing a complaint. You should be ashamed of your treatment of a family and young children.

Due to an issue with a bag on board without the associated passenger we had to taxi back to the stand for it to be removed before we could take off. This cost us an hours delay. There was limited apologies for this, no refreshments provided during the wait and poor communication of this. During the flight the staff were inattentive and sparing with refreshments. Service generally did not live up to expected level associated with an inter-continents flight. The flight was turbulent but crew and captain seemed over cautious with it and crew had to remain seated unnecessarily at times and at the detriment of passenger service. One stewardess wouldn’t even let me finish a drink before removing it from my hand claiming we were about to land and she had to sit down because of turbulence. We were still 40 mins from landing at this point! All in all a pretty bad flight, and it’s safe to say I won’t be flying American Airlines again."

Don’t pay Justfly for seating choice as the operating airline can switch your seats. Online checkin was difficult as I tried Finnair first with no luck, then got somewhere with American. PlusPoints are useless if seats are so rarely available.

Apart from the delays in terms of departure times, the airline experience was so bad, given the medical incident from a passenger sitting at the back of the plane. I was so close to it, and was utterly disappointed by the failure of the cabin crew to control passengers from overcrowding the sick passenger and allow the crew to administer the necessary medical intervention. It all amounted to compromised safety at 30000 feet, and seriously more training on the part of the airline is required in this regard. The other issue I realised is lack of cleanliness and care on the part of cabin staff, with one lady spilling food next to where I was sitting and ignoring the incident completely. I had to ask another to intervene and for which only superficial help was rendered. This is not what I expected, but this is what I got and speaks volumes to a cabin crew which is all female, mature/elderly, and expected to be more hands on to problems of this nature. The food is terrible in economy class, with options very limited. I opted for chicken, but did not know that it had curry in it, so I could not eat my meal further, and so no need to ask for the vegetarian option.

Hard to get through on 800 number, and 1 day before trip answer was still to do it in Frankfurt. Economy plus was $1000 more/person, and even then no guarantee I could choose a seat far in advance. Then, at computer kiosk in Frankfurt, they had a wrong diagram of the plane,as we ended up on what turned out to be a no-recline row which I would never get. I'm 6'2", 230lbs, and wasn't able to sleep on that flight. Had I been able to reserve a seat behind a bulkhead or in exit row 2mos in advance, I would have been fine."

Heard other travelers discussing that they had been rebooked onto an alternate airline and then found a later flight on Kayak, walked up to podium and asked to be rebooked on that specific flight, which they grudgingly did. Of note, I was repeatedly reassured that they were "sure" I would make my connection without a problem and to stop worrying so much. My flight left out of Madison 2 minutes after my connection departed Chicago. I usually fly a different airline, whose flights out of Madison were all on time that day, and will do so in the future despite more expensive ticket. The actual crew on the flight was lovely and apologetic, did everything they could to help us despite the delays. At least that's something."

When we brought this up we were told only the gate agent could adjust. Although at the time there were seats together they were "economy plus." Not surprisingly the gate agent was very rude when we approached her with the issue, insinuated it was our fault, that we were extra trouble for traveling with 2 small children, and that we may have to be bumped. We were finally accommodated at the last second but it was unneeded stress. Also several flight attendants gave us a hard time for bringing aboard our infant car seat despite the fact it is FAA approved and we bought a seat for it and it is the current recommendation of the FAA to do so."

Pros: "I had requested boarding assistance for my husband who has difficulty walking at the present time. I could not believe how attentive everyone was. A wheel chair and attendant were waiting for him in Cancun and in Newark. We were wheeled through customs and to baggage claim. The attendants did not leave us until we were at the door ready to exit the airport. We could not have been treated any better. Looking forward to next week's hip replacement and future travels with United."

Pros: "I took 4 different flights and all the crews seemed to all be moody."
Cons: "No in-flight entertainment, unless you purchased Direct TV. And if you did not -- you had a super bright Direct TV commercial flashing in your eyes for 6 hours. Seat was broken and did not recline. I had a tight connection to make (20 minutes) and upon asking if they could call the gate or help me deplane quickly, stewardess's response was that "there are other flights tomorrow". Very unhelpful. It worked out, because my connecting flight was cancelled. At which point United told me they could get me on another flight FOUR DAYS later. Or a 9-hour bus to my destination two days later. Yes, a bus. So I ended up taking another flight two days later to a destination three hours from my original itinerary and renting a car at my own expense. Worst flight experience ever -- I will never fly United if I can't help it."
Pros: "Getting a seat in economy plus! (But I think that happened because I had trouble using the online seat booking process and couldn't get a seat assignment till I got to the gate for my Albany flight, probably the only seat available) also liked arriving early in Albany."
Cons: "Arriving at the end of terminal C and having to trek to the end of terminal B for my connecting flight. Supposedly a one hour window, but by the time I got off, and made that enormous trek, no time to get a meal. Going to Madison flights left from almost adjoining gates. Lovely!"
Pros: "Boarding process was efficientt"
Cons: "Plane circled around for 30 min with no update from pilot. Luggage took 35 min to arrive."

Cons: "There was a sick passenger on board. The crew spent 40 minutes trying to convince him to get off the plane. He refused and after 40 minutes, they left him on and we finally left the gate."

Pros: "Left on time and arrived on time. Flight attendant has a rock star!! Did her job above and beyond what I have seen in the past."

Cons: "United airlines crew said that the plane had on board computer problems and then the crew said they couldn't fly because they were timed out on hours and we sat for 3 hrs in the plane only to here that they cancelled the flight and I had to scramble to find another flight to get to my destination"
