The bathroom was definitely not cleaned enough, I went twice where the floor was soaked, the seat was wet and the sink full of toothpaste. I understand that every passenger should be responsible enough to clean up after themselves, but it was not an enjoyable experience. The crew was friendly enough, but it didnt feel like the personalized service experience that is usually the case (where they introduce themselves, explain the do not disturb sticker etc). Also I think there was something wrong with my seat because it didnt "lay flat" all the way."

The crew is constantly telling you to sit as if you weren't allowed to use the toilet at all when the seatbelt sign is on--and it's on the whole time. So you have to be asking permission to use the toilet when you are right next to the toilet door and about to go in because they don't allow you to use it. That's not healthy for someone to hold it."

The non vegetarians got a full plate of croissant, cheese, fruit and jams. When I asked for butter I got no response. I asked three times before I could get some butter as I do not eat margarine. Lunch was wilted and slimy lettuce and tired fruit for dessert. The main meal itself was delicious but I was hungry the whole flight due to the small helping.. Another small but slightly fresher role and margarine again. Next to the non vegetarian meal there was less than half the food. It was very disappointing."

The flight was delays almost 3 hours and I was not able to make my interview which was the whole reason I flew to Denver in the first place. I understand that things happen but now Im out of a possible job that I was interviewing for and I am also out the $250 that I spent on the flight. The flight was delayed because they didn't have a crew to fly the plane which blindside is always 20/20 however it seems like pretty poor planning."

On the flight to New York with Delta we had to check our carry ons at the gate because it wasn't enough room for bags in the airplane.so we asked when we checked our one suitcase if we can/should check our carry ons to avoid having to do it at the gate. The delta employee told me sure no problem. He checks in my one suitcase I purchased gives me the tracking paper and says ok have a good flight. I asked him so what is with our carry ons and he told us that that would cost 25$ and we can't check those in at the drop off?!?We ended up taking the carry ons with to the gate and then off course there wasn't enough room on the airplane that we had to check it in. And surprise it was free?? We had never issues with Lufthansa, icelandair etc. with checking our bags at drop off to not needing to carry it around and than still end up to check it at the airplane. Every airline has been more than happy that we volunteer to check our bags that they don't have the trouble at the gate."

To go to Australia, Denver TSA waived the removal of shoes, skipped the scan for the metal detector and no one touched me, ditto for LAX on the trip to Sydney. Where's the uniformity or standards for TSA?? Why did I have to be subjected to this garbage on the way home?? This is why I despise flying. It makes no sense to me. This ruined what was a great vacation."

Pros: "Flight crew on flight from Amsterdam to Cape Town were probably the most friendly and enthusiastic I've experienced and no, they were not all young. The plane was spotless throughout the flight. They were always coming around with water and juice and they genuinely seemed to care about all the passengers. The Flight back crew were just the opposite. More like the old lazy farts you get on the American carriers or BA or QF long haul. Whoo have been there for the long haul and should have stopped ages ago."

Other than that, the airline lost my baggage. It has been almost two weeks since my flight and they still have not found it. I have been advised to file an itemized list of everything that was in my bag for reimbursement but I have been informed it will most likely be several months until I receive any payment. I have spent a lot of time waiting on hold to talk to anyone from baggage services and any time I have got through the people have been very unhelpful. I feel the airline should be going above and beyond to rectify the situation but thus far I have been doing all of the work. That is pretty poor seeing as the airline is completely at fault. WIth the terrible service that I have received so far, I am not holding my breath for that reimbursement check."

There was apparently something that went wrong with furl getting into a separate storage tank (that's scary in itself...how does that happen?) and they announced that they couldn't get the fuel tank to fill completely and the mechanics needed to get a "special tool" to complete the process. Then they needed some "tool" to drain the fuel from the mysterious storage tank. That was done and they announced that they had decided that they had plenty of fuel to make it to Denver. An hour and a half later of sitting in a sweltering hot cabin the y announced that the mechanical issues were taken care of BUT we'd have to wait another 20 minutes to take off because of the traffic waiting to leave Heathrow."

After our flight from Madrid to London we were expecting the worse as that flight was dismal. We were pleasantly surprised that this flight was on a clean plane with great amenities."

He must of thought that it will get delayed if I have to claim baggage and proceed for connection as the flight was delayed."

Primitive and time-consuming transportation system between terminals- Had to ride overcrowded buses packed with so many people that your body was pressed against your neighbor. Inadequate number of restrooms and poor signage to find them. Bad selection of restaurants. Then at the terminal, boarding time listed as 10:40, but they did not even announce the boarding gate until 10:40. Then a 10 minute ride on another overcrowded bus to the plane which you had to board by a staircase (and a staircase to the door on a 747 is no small thing!) Although flight was smooth in the air, the pilot landed so "hard" I thought the landing gear must have been damaged!"

It took longer to get from T5 to T3 than it did to get from Dublin to London. Boarding in T3 for the flight to Denver was almost as bad. Bodies everywhere, no organisation and no help. Then the aircraft itself was so old with uncomfortable seats and an almost unwatchable screen. I will never transit through LHR again."

Eventually, a flight attendant gently told them no more to drink and was very good. But it was too late. I have flown a ton and have never heard passengers this loud, in a foreign language. In addition, one of them was quite large with a bald head, thus intimidating. We had a very long day and just wanted to rest and that was not at al possible."

I had to make sure my foot didn't rest on time because it was painful to my foot."

Cons: "the drink service came through pretty late in the flight. i asked for hot tea. a few minutes later i was provided with extremely hot tea. about 10 minutes later it was a temperature i could tolerate drinking. about 1/3 through the drink i was required to throw away my drink because we were preparing for landing. i understand that, fine. bad timing. it’s just a drink. what was unsatisfactory is that the attendant rudely commented “you have to give us your drink. it’s not that long of a flight.” the comment made me feel like i had done something wrong even though i had just been drinking my tea as soon as it was at a drinkable temperature. i was not impressed with the attendant. also, there weren’t any biscotti cookies."

Volunteer was totally unfazed but Desk crew made it seem as tho the Muslim mom was at fault for the time and trouble they had had to go through to accommodate her. She apologized profusely and was very appreciative for the trouble evernote had gone to for her. . As she walked away the crew looked at each other and shook their heads. Pretty crummy way to treat customers!"

I had to book another flight because the change fees were too expensive. I did not know that my return flight to Denver had been canceled until I was checking in a few hours before my flight. I was told my ticket had no value. Awesome! It really stings that I then had to book a new return flight, and because I am a teacher who makes about $23,000 a year, I had to book the cheapest flight, which was with American. I do not plan on giving them any of my hard-earned money in the future if I can help it."

And then, surprise ! All of the sudden they noticed there was an issue with his and some of the crews' hours and we had to wait till they could locate more crew. But they gave us each a 1/3 glass of water and later a $12 food voucher which didn't even cover a meal and beverage. Whoop-de-do. 7 hours later we finally boarded for the third and last time. The crew on the other hand stayed professional and friendly."

One incident during this trip was as follows: When arriving in Charlotte and running to catch my connecting flight, I arrived as the lady at the desk was closing the door, she looked at me and rolled her eyes. When I went up to the desk along with the other passengers arriving from the same flight as me the AA representative said "Hurry up , I want to go home!! At a point I'm just going to cut you off and that will be it!" She was of no help to me in anyway amd was forced tonstay the night in charlotte ; Normally this would not have been such a big deal, However I am on emergency leave from the Navy rushing home because I have a very serious family emergency, that representitive was very lucky I held my temper! From now on thanks to the poor unproffessional customer service I received I will no longer be flying American Airlines!"

While I was doing it (it took literally 5 seconds), she was screaming at me to walk over to the side and lose my place in line. After I quickly put it in she screams it must go in all the way, which it was. There wasn't even a bulge from it and it closed with ease. I'd be happy to provide a picture of my small backpack/purse."

Then we get there by said time and they said she missed her flight. Keep in mind I have a one hour each way drive to lax. Came the next day 3 hours early to stay in the line 3.5 hours and the line was short! They let people cut us left and right and the staff was rude on the phone and there. I lost ANOTHER work day dealing with them. They said she was on standby for next flight 3 hours later only to get to the gate and they said they NEVER EVEN PUT HER ON THE LIST. then she got put on the next flight 3 hours later to get told it was a full flight and so she waited another 3 hour flight and finally got on... on top of the stress I went through, the work I missed out on, the drive and gas it took to get there, her first day of her Job was the next day after that mayhem! It was absolute chaos. I can honestly say I hate that American airlines and I don't think it's right. The person next to us also had a horrible experience with them in the line next to us. She missed her best friends wedding due to three disorganization and horrible service.... SHE WAS SUPPOSED TO BE A BRIDESMAID!!! I wrote the company.... but I expect no return or respect from them if I can't even get that from their condescending customer service "manager" ABSOLUTE WORST EXPERIENCE EVER!!!!!"
Cons: "I am a Platinum flyer and was flying with my family of 4. Upon boarding our pre-assigned seats were taken away and assigned to someone else. We waited while all classes were boarded then we were given seats, separated through tout the plane."

We grab a quick bit, head back to gate with an hour to spare and sit down figuring we'll start boarding in a half hour. There are two agents at the gate, but there is another passenger there crying about the something in Spanish (it appears she missed her flight). Eventually airport security shows up. Well, the half an hour boarding time comes and goes, and we don't start boarding. We figure it has something to do with this woman. Finally, I go check the board again and they moved the gate to D15! We rush over, but we missed the flight. So did half a dozen other people. No announcement, nobody walking over from D15 to D19 to see if there are people there. We get to American counter and we get several different sorry-ass excuses. The first was that Miami likes to keep "a quite airport." The second was that it is OUR responsibility to check with gate agents if they don't start boarding on time. I'm so tired of the airline industry arrogance and treating passengers like they're doing us just a tremendous favor by allowing mere mortals like us to be in their very presence and allowing us access to their magical flying machines."
